i purchased 2 of the 28 slot palettes from 'Suite7beauty.com' for $15 each. i selected the 'Fedex priority international' option for a little extra (i live in the UK) and got them in 3 days! however, like so many other reviewers, one of the palettes didn't close. at first it did, but it was extremely hard to open, and then it stopped closing altogether. but i contacted suite7beauty and they were very nice, emailed back a couple of days later and said they would send me another one for free!
now on to some pros and cons:
pros:
- these fit 28 colours and have a divider
- they are slim, compact, stackable and plain black
- they hold magnetic pans like a dream (like Urban Decay)
cons:
- if your pan is not magnetic and has a magnet stuck on to it (like depotted MAC shadows and MAC pro refill pans), it will not stay, because the slots are too shallow and they just don't hold. the only way i could get my depotted MAC pans to stick in this palette was to use the round metal stickers that you can get from the z palette website. this is a big con for me, as i had to purchase a separate MAC pro palette for any MAC pro refill pans i buy in the future. also please note that the metal stickers don't stick to the MAC pro palette!
- it isn't very well manufactured, many do not close and the divider seems to be coming unstuck in some places
i feel that these two cons are pretty significant enough to remove 2 lipsticks.
i would repurchase this for pans i already have depotted with the z palette stickers and magnetic pans.
i would feel confident to travel with these at the moment, just not abroad.
this had the potential to be a perfect product so it's a shame that it has the flaws that it does.
i would recommend this only if you trust the source that you are buying from, incase you get a faulty one as well, and to make sure you keep all of the above in mind.

Unlike some other users here, my lid did close as it should. But the palette seem a little unsturdy. I would not travel with this! The magnets are good, and holds my pans very well. It is not great for eye shadows with magnets under. For them you should get a MAC-pro palette, an UNII-palette or another palette with a metal plate (not magnet sheet).
I would not buy this again, because It is a bit big and unsturdy for me. I like better the 12 well magnetic palettes that they sell (and Coastal Scents too, only with a mirror). They do not take so much space + they are sturdier and more suitable for travel.

I got the 2 freestyle pallettes and I have very mixed feelings about them.
cons:
lid will not close (as soon as I started using both of them)
customer service is terrible from this company
delivery took significantly longer than other online stores
pros:
fits 48 of my MAC shadows for easy access
- I will be keeping both of the pallettes bc i imagine that getting my money back from this company will not be worth the hassle and bc since i keep my makeup lying on my vanity, it does not bother me too much that the lids dont stay closed. however, if you're a makeup artists or plan to be traveling with these, I do NOT recommend you purchase. I just can't find another option that will fit as many shadows- I'll keep looking though!

I recently ordered the Stars Makeup Haven Large Freestyle Magnetic Palette, Model # 1010, for $19.00 + $5.95 S/H. The palette arrived reasonably quickly, w/in a week or so.
The magnetization is poor. My MAC pro pans barely stay put. By comparison, both the Unii Palette and Z Palette have excellent magnetization.
Also, the lid will not close, even when there are only a few pans inside.
I will be returning this.

I ordered four of these over a MONTH ago! I emailed SMH FOUR times, without any response, so I went ahead and filed a complaint with paypal. My order still says processing. This is my second time ordering from here and that order took two weeks to get to me. I originally ordered blush palettes from camera ready cosmetics because they claimed to fit mac blushes and had ten pan slots, but they lied-my mac blushes were too big! Plus on top of that I lost money on the return shipping and their re-stocking fee! Anyways after that nightmare, I decided to give SMH another chance because my mac shadows fit perfectly in their 28 pan palette. I shop online often and I have never had to wait this long before! I am once again disappointed by SMH's customer service. They have time to tweet, but have no time return their customer's emails! Beware of this site, but if you must order from here, buy one thing so that you won't lose too much money in case they decide to never ship it!

Got the magnetized 26mm pan palette for 28 pans ($17). I removed the partition and could squeeze almost 50 pans (26mm) into this palette. No pans seem to be falling out. Just that - it seems to be quite expensive, shipping and all. Now I'm wondering whether I should have gotten the blush palette (44mm pans, $10) instead: same size after all but the other review made me cautious - what if magnets there are placed as sparingly as KeLLsTar described?

I became annoyed at searching for eyeshadows so started looking at palettes to depot my eyeshadows & store everything together. I found a MAC palette online but it was expensive. I was happy to find the SMH site & bought the SMH 28 palette for my MAC & UD singles & the SMH Large Freestyle Palette.
When I received my package I realised that I didn't have as many MAC sized eyeshadows as I had originally thought. I pulled out the "separators" to use it as a freestyle palette as I 'd read a comment on YouTube that you could do this. Well, you can but DON'T buy the 28 palette on the basis that it turns into a freestyle palette. It does not have a magnetic sheet - there are pan sized round magnets placed in the palette which will grab magnetised pans, but ONLY where the magnets are (as that's what it was made for). It works, but it's not as effective as a magnetic sheet.
So, if you want a freestyle palette, buy the freestyle palette, or be prepared to buy a magnetic sheet from an art store.
This palette is matte black, big, slim & looks great. It keeps my eyeshadows all in one place which is just what I wanted. I can see everything together which I love. I hated looking through different little compacts for certain colours. This way I see everything I have in one or two places & makeup doesn't get forgotten.
I wouldn't repurchase this probably due to the facts that I (probably) won't need another one, and if I did, I would buy another SMH Large Freestyle Palette.

I bought a couple of these because I didn't want to pay for MAC palettes and because I liked the idea of a larger palette and MAC doesn't make anything bigger than a 15 pan palette.
It is really nice that these palettes are magnetized. Stars Makeup Haven eyeshadows have pans made of metal that is magnetic (sticks to magnets, not is a magnet itself) so they fit really nicely without any magnet needed. I discovered that the *regular line* of Urban Decay shadows also have "magnetic" pans, so these don't require magnets either - although my Urban Decay mattes did need magnets. MAC eyeshadows still needed magnets, with the exception of a couple of shades. (Fashion and Ego, both Starflash shades, didn't need magnets. But it's not all the Starflashes, because I did need magnets for Grand Entrance and Smoke & Diamonds.)
The downside to Stars Makeup Haven palettes is that the areas for the pans are a bit shallow - so anything that needs a magnet is raised above the edge a little bit. This is not a huge problem, but they do move a teeny bit and they don't look quite as nice.
This came shipped in a plastic sleeve in a priority mail envelope, so no really protective packaging, but it seemed to hold up well enough to make it intact.
Overall - these were $13.95 for a 28-pan palette measuring 6" by 9". The palettes themselves are very good but not excellent. These are great if you like to sort your eyeshadows by color but have more than 15 of a color and would like to keep them all together (and you don't want to pay for 2 MAC pans to store them).
