I got this in a sample size a few months back and absolutely love this!! The color is perfect. It feel great on my lips. I just actually spent the money and bought a full sized one. One of two colors I wear now.

I use a light touch when applying this lip stain because the color can look too bright if I swipe it several times. Overall, I like this lip stain because it doesn't dry out my lips and it does leave a nice pink stain on my lips. It doesn't leave a taste in my mouth either. I also like the more natural ingredients in this product compare to many other lipstick brands full of chemicals.

I just got the mini one of this in the Shining Stars Collection that just came out. So far I really love it. I have been meaning to try one of these stains for a while, but could never bring myself to spend $24 on one lip color (tangent: at ULTA and Sephora right now they have a gift set of 5 (FIVE!) full size Tarte lip stains for $30, a $120 value, I may be going back for this). I never tried the other kind of marker type lip stains because the reviews said they dried out your lips a lot and the thought of using a market tip on my lips seems strange. After about an hour of it being on my lips I tried drinking from a glass and no color came off on it, and there was still color on my lips. Immediately after applying I tried drinking from a cup and just a bit of color came off on it. I would say this is kind of a cross between a tinted balm and a stain, because it's pretty hydrating and goes on smooth but it does leave a stain after that feeling is gone.
All in all, I think after trying this mini one, I would definitely go purchase a full size one (or that set I mentioned). I am a balm kind of girl. I hate gloss because of the sticky feel, lipstick takes too much re-applying and it comes off on everything, so it's hard to find lip color that I will actually use, but now I have! I will definitely be buying more of these.
Also, I think this color is very flattering, bright and fun, almost reminds me of a strawberry popsicle. I am pretty fair skinned, but it would look gorgeous on olive or darker skin tones as well.

They should not call this a stain. With a real stain, you could blot most of it off and there would be some color left behind that lasts a long time. that's what "stain" means.
this product does not do that. it is a tinted lip balm. It does not last any longer than any other tinted balm (such as cover girl LipSlicks or burt's bees tinted lip balm). Once the moisturizing part is gone, so is the color—absolutely no stain left behind. As for the color: it starts out a nice berry color, but when it wears off a little, it turns into fluorescent pink.
I gave this a "2" on packaging. the lid gets stuck on and I can tell it will crack soon. also, I personally hate it when packaging is larger than it needs to be. for the amount of product you get, it could have been squeezed into a much smaller tube.

Not sure if it really stains your lips, but I love it anyways. I had Revlon's Just Bitten Lip Stain & Balm and it dried out my lips. Tarte's Natural Lip Stain doesn't: it feels like luxurious chap stick. I love this shade, its perfect for me. I really like the twist-up design as well.

I didn't like the packaging! I like the color, I apply it lightly on light make up days and heavy when I'm going out. Usually with a gloss on top. I think it's helped my lips stay hydrated as well. A little pricy, not sure if I'd re-purchase.

Enchanted is supposed to be a "rose" color. The only way I'd call this rose colored is if we're talking about a fuschia colored rose. Not just pink, not at all subtle or light or medium in tone. But all-out, full-on bright and deep in color. Was not expecting that. For $24.00 I want a rose color. I don't want to have to play with it and make adjustments to make it wearable. Love the concept, will purchase Envy next time, as it's proven a gorgeous color. Will not ever buy Enchanted again.

I am so surprised that so many people dislike this! No, it doesn't last all day long but it does stain my lips with color that lasts longer than any lipstick or gloss I've come across. One of the reasons I love it so much is that I have dry lips and so every other lip stain besides this one has emphasized flakies. The name Enchanted is perfect! It totally looks like a product that Snow White would use to enhance her natural lip shade. I use a light coating of smith's rosebud salve, blot and then apply this and I am good to go on natural makeup days.

I do love the texture of this tinted lip balm, it goes on smooth and does not dry my lips out, which i appreciate. i like the pencil form, that twists up so i dont need a sharpener. it is perfect for travel and in my purse, so that is a plus. it is not sticky and you dont need a mirror to apply.. HOWEVER i have found that this tends to be a bit bright and not very natural looking if applied heavily - so i use a light hand and love it, just dont over do it or it is hello hot pink lips!!

This is growing on me. At first I was pretty down on it. I found that: 1) the color faded quickly; 2) at full strength could look to clownish; 3) caused no plumping. But now I'm finding that if I use a light hand and re-apply fairly frequently it can create a nice, flushed looking lip. I wouldn't repurchase, but since I already have I'll be getting some use out of it. The one very positive thing I can say is that it's good for travel/purse because it's compact and in twist up pencil form.

i had the other, lighter pink color but just got enchanted today and like that much more. okay, it doesn't last forever, but it does stain my lips for a few hours (if i don't bite them) and it's a beautiful, natural rosy color (i'm very fair with blond hair and blue eyes). i also love the texture. it reminds me of benefit's tinted lip balm, but i like this much more. going to try it out with gloss on top soon.

I like the color and texture, but it really doesn't stain lips and doesn't last very long. I was disappointed. Will use up, but will not buy again.

I love love love this stuff. I finally found Enchanted at Sephora the other day, and had to buy it. I'd tried it at the store a couple of times, but they had never had it in stock before then. I just can't get over the wonderful wash of color this stuff gives without the gunky sticky lipstick feeling. It goes on like a dream (so smooth) and stays for hours. It's my go-to lip color now, and I adore it. Will definitely buy again.

I purchased this both in Enchanted & Amused. I've been looking for a good long lasting, yet sheer lip color. I work in customer service, so I talk A LOT, and don't want to have to be touching up my lips every hour. I'm also very fair with pale lips, so without lip color I look like the walking dead. I purchased Amused for my "fun" color, and Enchanted for a more conservative rosy lip. However, Enchanted turned out to be a bright blue-toned fuschia on me. Was really disappointed. Aside from the color, it's easy to apply, comfortable to wear (though I don't believe the 6000% moisture increase), and it does gently stain the lips for hours.

Oh, the hype. "After 10 years the wait is finally over! Clinically proven to increase lips' moisture content by 6000%!" Yeah, I fell for it. I bought this product in Enchanted, which is a rather deep neutral rose shade--a little bright, IMHO, but not bad. It comes packaged as a big, huge pencil that you can dial up from the bottom. This applies smoothly and has a bit of a tingle to it. However, a stain it is not. A moisturizer for the lips it is not. It wears off about as quickly as a good gloss (say, NARS or Chantecaille, which have fairly good staying power for me), and is about as moisturizing as a good gloss, but not as moisturizing as, say, Chantecaille's Lip Chic (which is my gold standard for moisturizing lip color). I needed to reapply it fairly frequently, and I needed to use lip balm as well. With repeated application I did end up with a stained look, but not more than I get with a well-pigmented, good quality lipstick or gloss. This product is *very* similar to Poppy King's Chinatown Glossy Pencils (a copy, one might say--in fact, if I were Poppy, I'd sue), except that Poppy's shades are better, the packaging is cooler, the pencils are $4 less, you get more product (0.25 oz. as opposed to 0.08 oz. of the Tarte), and they need to be sharpened (although Poppy includes a sharpener). Oh, and Poppy doesn't make ridiculous claims about her product. This "stain" is nothing more than a nice, very lightweight gloss that comes in rather bright colors in a convenient component, but in no way does it live up to any of its claims. Sorry, Tarte, the emperor has no clothes. I'm going to return this and get another Chinatown pencil instead (Barney's still has free shipping as of this writing).
