Love it for light coverage and a natural looking skin tone enhancer. Great value for money and it goes a long way. I wear it during the day when outdoors for some natural looking vibrancy. If you are looking for full on coverage, this may not be the product for you. Oh and buyers of this product should use their own brush, the one that comes with the powder is small and kinda annoying, but again... It's an $8 powder, just go with it.

I have been thinking and thinking about this foundation for a couple days and decided to give it a try. I always use liquid but I wanted a lighter and cleaner feeling makeup. I just applied it and I have mixed feelings about it. Because I like the makeup... just not sure this makeup and my skin will be a match made in heaven. So for now I'll just review the makeup itself. I chose the loose powder because I felt the shade (natural ivory) looked better and lighter in the powder formula rather than the compact.

The brush that comes with it is surprisingly soft! But I applied it with E.l.F's small stippling brush ($3 at Meijer). I blended and blended, the foundation is very sheer...but then again I wanted something light. I decided I needed 2 coats...more blending. It feels light and comfortable. Now I just have to wait and see if I breakout or if it settles where it's not supposed to. I would like to add that before applying this you would probably want to use concealer first because it is so light and sheer. I will be back and update....

UPDATE: Well as it turns out this doesn't do my skin any favors. It just doesn't look good on me. I need to just give up on the powder foundation thing and stick to liquid....so it's back to liquid for me. To be honest I haven't found ANY drugstore foundations that work for my acne prone skin, I really need to stick with Clinique.

Well i really loved this product a year ago , it matched my skin perfectly and i thought it was helping me control my oily skin ,,.,Wrong!!! i thought that just because its mineral powder it would help my oily skin but it didn't i think it made my skin look way shinier ,when i checked the ingredients it had bismuth oxychloride which is little glitters that the powder has and it was one of the first ingredients on the list i also heard that it can be irritant for sensitive skin, it wasn't irritating to me at all it just made my skin look shinier because the little Glittters it had,.,.this product would be perfect if it didn't have those dumb Glitters,it evened out my skin tone and it didn't break me out but it just didn't help my oily skin ,..i now use physicians formula mineral loose powder. i think the people that have dry or normal skin will like this product but for oily or sensitive skin its a no no :/

I am actually pretty fond of this mineral powder. I have nc20ish (more neutral, NC20 runs slightly too yellow for me) and the shade "Classic Ivory" is an almost perfect match for me. The packaging is decent, makes me actually miss the Bare Minerals lock system as the powder has a tendency to kind of go all over the container if I handle this roughly.
I usually buff this all over with concealer on my blemishes or wear it over my Too Faced BB cream for more coverage and to set it. There is not much in the way of coverage when its on its own, although it does even out the skin tone and if you have perfect skin, I'm sure it would be great on its own.The lasting power is decent and it doesn't oxidize on me, although I use blotting paper or translucent powder to touch up when I get oily because adding more of this seems like a bad idea.
The main issue that is keeping this from being a five star review is the shimmer. There is quite a bit of shimmer in this. There isn't a matte option for the loose powder so I bought the pressed powder version because it has no shimmer. I actually don't like that as much, I really prefer the way the loose powder applies. I just can't reach for this when my skin is oily. The shimmer is just too much.
Overall I like this and will probably purchase this again. I am someone whos foundation routine changes literally daily, and I've had this for 6 months and I am actually almost done with the jar. This is a huge deal, it will be the first product I've legitimately finished in a long time, so the proof is in the pudding I suppose

If you have fair skin, do not get this product. I don't even have the lightest of color, I usually get the second to third lightest shade from a foundation line. With that said, I purchased the lightest shade the loose powder has, which is 10 classic ivory, and it looks 3 or 4 shades darker than most other classic ivory foundations I've used before. So, again, if you have fair skin, do not get this product because even the lightest is not even light. The texture is clean, the coverage is the natural sheer I was looking for, but the coloring is just way off.

I honestly can only use this as a setting powder, if even that. I originally bought this in #20 and it oxidized so much that I looked about 4 shades darker. I then tried it in the lightest shade which is #10 and that ended making me about 2 shades darker. This seriously oxidizes ridiculously. Alone this gives absolutley no coverage at all for me which made me end up trying it as a setting powder to begin with. I barely use it as a setting powder, I can only use it as a last resort.

I went to Sephora during their discount sale for beauty insiders. I wore this in 030 to the store. When I went to get color matched for Bare Escentuals, the SA said why spend the $$ when this was so good on my face, color matched perfect, perfect coverage.
I am C20 Fairly medium in Original formula. I think I could go a little lighter, since I always use "Classic Ivory" in most other foundations.
I am older and have dry skin but also oil-not perfect combo skin.
Now, keep in mind that mineral foundations IMO usually does not have heavy coverage, my experience is always a medium coverage if built up. It is supposed to look natural right?
It does not break me out,not oxidize, it lasts, does not transfer
I did buy the BE but now I'm sorry because at the higher $ may not be worthy to buy again.
I am a limited Nuetrogena buyer since the products usually break me out. This did not.
I also use the powder compact for the same reasons.
The ingredients' list says "may contain bismuth oxychloride" (BO) but it did not cause any rash or itch. This is important because what I said before, skin is dry, oily and all in between and sometimes I use retinol products. And I did not have any problems
The BE original formula has BO per company customer service today when I called but the matte formula does not.
If your budget is tight and mine certainly is, you may want to try it, use a coupon from BBB or CVS or manufacurer because it still runs anywhere between 11-15USD
The container is same as BE, except you turn it upside down. In addition it has a plastic cover to separate the brush from the powder so it does not allow it to leak.
The brush is whatever, not great, but really who buys mineral foundation and for that matter use it without a kabuki brush-that's a given so I never really judge the foundation based on the brush provided. I put it in my purse and did not spill-I took it to Sephora with me too
No mirror, neither does BE. But again, if you need a kabuki brush to buff, a compact mirror is not going to cut it in any of these mineral foundations, you will need a large mirror.
Everyone's skin reaction to any product will be different because we are all different so keep this in mind when buying it or not. this is just my experience with this product. Hope it provides more info

After dealing with adult acne for the last two years, I have found this is the only foundation I can use that doesn't break me out. Very sheer coverage though, but helps to make my skin tone look more even. HG for me since my skin won't tolerate anything else.

I LOVE THIS Mineral loose powder ! It's so light on your skin it feels like you don't have any makeup on :) it works great on my sensitive skin :) . The only thing I hate is the packaging quality its super annoying and the brush it comes with sucks !! So make sure to use a powder brush or a kabuki brush .

Although the container is Annoying and you must use your own brush (don't even attempt to use the brush provided), I think this is a quality mineral foundation. I will not repurchase this product because I can't use even the lightest color unless I'm a bit more tanned, it's just about a half shade too dark for my skin, especially in the winter.

That being said, I think the coverage is great, sheer enough to not look like your wearing makeup but gives enough coverage to even skin tone. I would still need to use a concealer with this. This didn't itch going on (I have very sensitive skin) and doesn't seem to cake up so I was able to build up coverage. If I could find a shade in the limited selection Neutrogena provides, I would love this foundation, but alas I am currently using Physicians Formula Talc-Free Mineral powder and loving it, it provides the same kind of coverage and natural look as Neutrogena Mineral Sheers but comes in colors more suitable for fair complexions.

This is probably the best powder foundation I've used. It looks much more natural than the pressed powder version. However, I've noticed the coverage isn't that great. And the price, as always for Neutrogena, is a bit steep for a drugstore product that isn't all natural or organic or has a little something extra.

If you want extremely sheer coverage, I mean really sheer coverage, then this product might appeal to you. For me this product is really only usable as setting powder and light sunscreen because whenever I try to use it I look at myself immediately after applying it and I can't see any difference in my complexion. So I've tried applying more and more to see it actually covering anything and it seems like it takes ludicrous amounts of product to get any coverage and I don't need full coverage. On the positive side this does not give you a obviously "powdered" appearance which is nice. But at this point I think I'm done trying to make this work. It just shouldn't take this much work just to get a little coverage from this powder.

I really like this product. I bought it in honey beige. Its very sheer & naural looking. even though, I get more golden during the sumer months, I think this powder will do just fine during the winter when Im a little "brighter". i like it because its not overly matte. I agree the packaging is a little wack, but its worth a try anyway.. Ive found it cheapest @ target.

had to stop using due to paraben content

This is by far one of the worst powder foundations I have ever owned. It doesn't stay on and I can whip it off litterally 30 minutes after application. I have extremely oily, acne prone skin. This DID NOT break me out... I'm not sure if it's because of the ingredients of the product or for the sheer fact that it didn't stay on my face long enough to break me out. Don't waste your money on this product. If you are looking for sheer coverage, you might as well wear no makeup at all if you are considering this product. This made my face extremly oily looking too! At $12, it was a total waste.

I really love this product, but I don't use it as a foundation; I use it as a finishing powder.

I dab concealer on the red areas around my nose and on my chin (Olay and Cover Girl's Age Defying), and then I use Pur Minerals 4-in-1 pressed powder foundation (just on my nose and chin and to set the concealer under my eyes).

But my look is definitely not finished without this powder - as another reviewer noted, while there's no shimmer in it, it does leave a barely discernible sheen on the skin, making the complexion look almost dewy fresh. I tried to replace this with my beloved Estee Lauder (the Double Wear Mineral Powder foundation) and was surprised to find it lacking in comparison with the Neutrogena; it had no depth to it, was missing that lovely sheen.

I live in the deep South, where the summers are miserably hot and humid, and admittedly, I need touch ups during the day or else I'll get shiny - though that could well just be either my skin or the weather.

Can't recommend this product highly enough!

overall i like this product. after a major breakout due to what i assume was from the elf makeup i tried i needed to find a very light weight makeup that wasnt a liquid and wouldnt clog my pores. i needed something very light weight to give my skin a break. i really like this product (other than i got a shade darker) it left my skin with an airbrushed finish with out looking shiny with my oily skin. i put it over my concealer and lightly dusted it on due to the fact it was too dark. coverage is minimal but nice and now my skin looks great and i dont even need to wear full coverage anymore. it only took a few days of only wearing thhis. my skin healed nicely and it didnt irritate or break my skin out. (: i will re purchase this product but next time i will get a shade lighter.

Finally! A loose mineral powder that has SPF 20 (bonus points for that, Neutrogena!), doesn't cost an arm and a leg, and won't make me break out! I can use this stuff over regular makeup or by itself, which I'll be doing a lot of over the summer months. Would definitely buy this stuff again.
