Just painted nails for the first time with this.

Showed my husband and he said "Urggh I hate it. Your hands look like they belong on a dead girl. That's a corpse color".

Gotta respect his honesty and happy I still have the receipt. Can't say I disagree - It is a very gloomy color.

I waited for over two years to finally get my hands on a bottle of Commander in Chic as I could'nt find a bottle to buy..finally last month found it discounted on my perfume discounters web site so bought a bottle right away...I tried it last night ..the plus side I abs love the new wide brush two strokes and my nails are painted & I abs adore the colour...its a perfect neutral for me a lilac/beige...the minus it took three coats of polish to give a good coverage of colourthat I like ..I found it very streaky and less than 24hrs later tip wear on every nail even though I use a really good base coat (OPI) and top coat (Seche Vite)..overall I do love the colour and the brush but for me even though it was a cheap as chips I wont be repurchasing ...Revlons Stormy is an almost perfect dupe & that lasts over a week without any tip wear or chips on me anyway...

I will echo the already numerous RAVES for this polish. The polish itself is amazing...it does coat very well, no streaking and very shiny. I love the thicker consistency...it dries quickly. I have this in 'Commander in Chic' and 'Greige' and I love both of them.Great color options in this line and it is GREAt stuff.

As a side bar, I recently got some Deborah Lippmann "Turn Back Time" non-yellowing nail polish and I use this as a base AND top coat and it kept a home done, quickie maniure on for a solid WEEK and I wash dishes, take baths and bang my hands around quite frequently. GREAT stuff!!!!

I consider myself a polish snob but after trying this polish, i am now more open to drugstore polishes. I like this better than my Lippmann Putty in your Hands. It has a better formula and I like this color better. The brush is fantastic, makes it so easy to apply and gives a flawless finish. I can always get the fastest, quickest mani with this.
The only complaint I have is the long neck on the bottle. Sometimes it is hard to get in and out. Other than that, this is perfection!!!

Great color when you are sick of wearing pinks, I keep coming back to it. LOVE the wide brush, makes application so much easier. Can be worn in one coat but is ideal with two. Wears fairly well, doesn't chip too quickly.

I love this! It is a dark taupe/purple color. While I like the wider brush, sometimes I feel like it is too wide. The color lasts 3-5 days with a good top coat like Sally Hansen Salon Manicure Ultra-Wear Top Coat but I am also not careful about my manicure either. I don't use gloves when I hand wash dishes and I take baths often, both of which wreak havoc on nail polish.

This is the perfect shade of grayish brownish purpley taupe. I have a warm base to my skin and with a tan this looks fantastic. With a tanner skin tone I feel it is more casual. It will also look great as I pale out again, it will just look more dramatic. I work in a professional office setting so I don't usually rock out loud or "non-traditional" colors, but this leaves me with tons of compliments. Color holds well, I use a top coat and get five days out of it. For me that's great. I chip so easy with two kids and all the clean up that goes with it. The brush shape is fantastic, it's tapered and flat. I have small nail beds and I can get a perfect application on both hands. So much better than the opi version of the flatter brush. Overall, I love this color and e dry thing else about this formula. It's pricey for drugstore but I think it hangs with the Essie and opi's of the world.

I really liked the formula of these polishes. It's hard but looks glossy on the nails and the color is perfect for the Autum! I'm looking forward to try more colors because there's not much variety in Mexico of this line .

Love this nail polish! Its a perfect taupe/gray and definitely doesn't chip. i do two coats and don't do a clear top coat. Wish it dried quicker but does dry pretty quick for a nail polish.

Love all the Sally Hansen complete manicure options. My nails do NOT retain color well, and chip easily, so I rarely wear solid colors... until now. I can wear dark colors with this product for at least 5 days with no chips. The wide flat brush makes application foolproof and results look professional. Sometimes I use a top coat, but it's not neccessary. This is the only nail polish I bother to buy anymore.

I bought this and it was so sheer after 2-3 coats! Super disappointing after seeing all the rave reviews here! I returned it.

I just now put this on my nails, so I can't speak for its durability. Nail polish does not last on me, so if it goes for more than two days, its good for me! Ill update on that later. The color is A-MAZ-ING!! Very pretty on my fair skin! I could see it looking good on a darker skinned peron as well! As other reviews have said, its a purpley taupeish greigeish color. I feel you'll either love or hate this color. I happen to love it because its wearable, but still interesting.:)

Commander in Chic is definitely one of the prettiest taupe with purple undertones in the polish market today. If you love taupes (like I do), make sure to snug a bottle of this absolutely gorgeous color and I guarantee you that you will not regret making that decision. It is a color that is every-event-appropriate. Whenever I feel undecided with what nail polish to use, I always turn to this little guy. And I guess I am not just the only person who finds this shade extremely eye catching, because the life in me couldn't remember the x number of times that I receive compliments when I have this on my nails.

The formula is also fantastic! It's square-brush design facilitates easy application of the polish; color is opaque in two coats; and this sucker dries incredibly fast and shiny! The only downside is it chips after about 4-5 days (when worn without a top coat) which I know is still pretty awesome. But for a polish that retails for Php399 a pop, let us just say that I was expecting a little bit more.

Brilliant stuff. Commander in Chic is a medium purple-taupe and very flattering to my pale complexion. The formula is creamy and smooth, and the large, flat brush is a dream to work with. Love!

Yep, I got this because of the hype. Oh, and the name. I love anything military-chic- colors, styles, what have you, so, yeah. Hehe.
Not expecting this to be that great despite my shallow reasons for purchasing it, it surpassed all of my doubts. I am in LOVE with this polish. It's such a classy, sexy greige-taupe color. The formula for these Sally Hansen Complete Manicure polishes is quite amazing for the price. It's completely opaque in two coats. I'm on day 3 and no chips, and I use my hands ALOT for work and art. I did topcoat it, but I have polishes that chip much too quickly even with a topcoat. I don't even have any noticeable tipwear yet! Woo!
I must say that I do love the oval-ish brush that most Sally Hansen polishes have. It fits my nails and aids in better coverage. I can't wait to try more of these polishes!

Actually when I purchased this, I thought it's the actual colour that I was looking for (more pink.) Anyways within the week after I had this on, I got many compliments from friends and others. Some even thought it's Chanel nail polish.

I would highly recommend it to anyone, if you're interested in this colour. It's cheap and great quality. I just wouldn't repurchase because I always like to try different colours.

The color, formula and brush are awesome! I'm very pleased with my purchase. I was hesitant at the begining because that is not my go to colors but I gave it a try. Good for me, I don't regret. On my nc30 skin looks very chic and not muddy at all. It lasts at least 5 days on. Perfect for this saeason. I recommend it 100%

When I originally bought this shade, I gave it away without wearing it because I have a horror of anything brown against my skintone. I bought it again and actually tried it this time, and was pleased to discover that only in nighttime monitor light does it appear noticeably brown - the rest of the time it looks like a dusty grape-y purple, a steel gray, or a mushroom-y taupe. It never looks muddy or dirty on me, which is what I was afraid of. It's much darker on the nail than in the bottle, edging into vampy territory, and in a creme finish, which makes it look very sophisticated. After ~14 years of nail polish ADD, I've tired of my stash; this is what I'm using on my fingers for the foreseeable future, because it's neutral enough to go with everything yet not boring. The brush is perfect for my rather amateurish polish application skills, and this shade is opaque in two coats. It lasts for several days when used with SH Insta-Dri t/c, but chips within a day or so with Essie Good to Go. The polish itself is a good not-too-thick consistency and easy to work with. Dries in about 15 minutes per coat.
