Oil Slick is a semi-black with silver shimmer. The pigmentation is just okay. Although the pencil lasts for over eight hours, I was expecting a richer black color with this pencil. It is only a greyish black color. I also find this pencil uncomfortable to wear on my lower lash line. I definitely would not want to wear it on my waterline. I’ll stick with Perversion for all of my black pencil lining needs, and keep looking for a black pencil with silver shimmer with a greater impact.

I think oil slick is good eyeliner.Black with little metalic shimmer. Not chunky shimmer and not fall out,its long wearing too.only a little metallic i notice in my eyes.Wearable for every day.I dont like very heavy black eyeliner, make my eyes look scary and my face look oldest.
Overall quite good colour.

This product was a huge failure for Urban Decay. The color is a light gray, with thick chunks of sparkles. The gray goes on really dull, and unpigmented. It runs like crazy after an hour on the waterline. The chunks of sparkles got in my eyes and made them run, ruining my makeup futhermore. My eyes got red, puffy, I ended up going to the bathroom in school just to get the sparkles out every 30 minutes.

Having read the reviews below before I bought the eyeliner, I thought I knew what to expect. I do want to add real quick before I say anything else, that I use Cover girl's black onyx self sharpening eyeliner, so it isn't really a pencil. This is my daily eyeliner, but I was looking for something waterproof for a cruise I'm going on. And I love glitter so I thought this would work perfectly. Well it was HORRIBLE for me. I already knew to expect the color to be more gray, which is was, and I already knew about the micro glitters. What I didn't know is that those little pieces of glitter would hurt my eyes so bad. Maybe it wasn't the glitter, I can't be 100% sure. All I know is I put it on my bottom waterline and it instantly starting hurting and my eye turned blood shot. My vision became blurry and it hurt to even close that eye. I removed it with make up remover and while it was still uncomfortable, it didn't hurt. So I figured maybe it was because I put it on my waterline and tried it again on my other eye, but only on the top eye lid, right above my eye lash line so it wasn't in contact with my actual eye ball. SAME painful result. I removed it again and then both my eyes are uncomfortable feeling and blurry. I get in the shower and splash water in my eyes...which really actually made it go from uncomfortable to painful again. I rubbed my eyes all night and the pain went away, the blurriness went away, and then the uncomfortableness went away too by the next morning. Bottom line, if you have sensitive eyes, which I'm starting to think I personally do for eyeliner, I would NOT buy this. I'm returning it tomorrow. I haven't really seen any other reviews like mine so maybe it was just a rare reaction. I've used other urban decay products and love them. BUT, my best suggestion for waterproof eyeliner is Covergirl's Queen Collection - Black Onyx. LOVE it.

I got a mini size of this with another color when Sephora had a 15% off sale. This is a black with silver glitter flecks. Like all Urban Decay liners, it's very creamy and soft and pigmented. The glitters aren't too noticeable but probably not ideal to use this in a formal work setting. This product is nice but I wouldn't purchase again; I'd rather just get normal black.

First of all, the color is a dark grey one with glitter in it, which is exactly what i was looking for. So if you are not a fan of glitter and shiny stuff, don't go for it. It glides on well, but it smudges and smears, especially if you have oily eyelids. 18 bucks for this products is too much.

UD 24/7 is the only eyeliner I will wear, and I own almost every color. I purchased Oil Slick a week ago, and I've worn it nearly every day since. I won't review the formula again, except to say these pencils are soft, last all day, and have the best color selection of any other brand, hands down. Anyway, Oil Slick is not quite black, but it isn't gray either, and it isn't brown/black. It's more like a dark almost black with shimmer. It looks very nice with my olive skin and very dark eyes. I don't care for black eyeliner because it's so harsh, but sometimes I want a more dramatic look, which is why I bought this. It gives me exactly the look I want, and I actually prefer it to Bourbon now, which has been my go-to liner for over a year. I cannot recommend these pencils enough. I will be going back for another color soon.

Looks gorgeous on, and I love the texture and color to death. Makes thicker lines, not for precision lining. However, I have to face the fact that after about 3-4 hours, the eyeliner I put on has completely DISAPPEARED, except for some on my lidline. So when I blink, all you see is a thin line of black on my lidline (the arch above my eye where my eyelid opens/closes, not sure if there's a real name for it). There's just the faintest hint of grey on my eyelid/where I applied it, giving my eyes a sort of sickly pallor. It also smudged a little under my eye after I applied it to my waterline. However, I loved the glitter, which gave my eyes an edgy look and was noticeable without being tacky. Although I did end up with a little glitter under my eyes, it wasn't really obvious or a large amount of glitter. Overall, it wasn't worth the $19 I paid for it. I'll probably be returning this and resuming my search for the perfect longwearing glittery eyeliner. I need an eyeliner that will stay on the entire day, and this one simply doesn't work.

I love everything about this eyepencil except for the glitter. Where is it?! I can see it in the pencil itself but for some reason it does not show up on my eyelids. It looks just like a basic black eyeliner on me which is a shame because I originally bought it because of the glitter. Will not buy again, was very expensive too - 15$.

I love all kinds of variations on gray - so I was excited to buy this since this seemed like a fun kind of dark charcoal. I would put it on and then head off to work not thinking about it twice. I even read some of the reviews discussing the glitter fallout and just shrugged it off - nothing that i really noticed... until I finally looked closely at myself in the mirror in the middle of the day one day. Holy moly!!!! I had sparkles everywhere! Not just along the bottom lashes (where i put the liner) but on my temples and above the eye, far away from the actual liner. Embarrassing ! I still really like the look but will have to use it only for going out and check and wipe off a couple of times thru the evening. Definitely not OK for my office look!

Bought as part of the 24/7 super stash.
It looks really nice for a night out because of the shimmer and glitter. Definitely better than just plain black.
But it takes AGES to remove, you can literally still see glitter 2 days after wearing it. All types of eye makeup removers or cleansers and it's very hard to remove these glitters.

This is one of my desert island have-to-have products. I don't know why I haven't reviewed it already - I am on easily my 5th one of these little guys. It is a bit pricey, but for me it is the only eye product I need to wear on most days. I am pretty pale and have relatively smaller eyes, so lots of eye makeup tends to overpower my features. So, this gives my eyes perfect definition and makes my blue eyes pop. The pencil itself is very soft, so it does not drag your skin at all, and it smudges really easily. Some people have complained about the glitter in it, but for me it is a nice little hint of glam without being out of control (like the glitter factor in most UD eye shadows). The color (a really dark grey) works great for me - it is neutral, so it can be worn every day and it looks great with my skin tone and eye color. It is also flexible for different looks - at work I can wear it light with some mascara; on the weekend just wear a little alone; for going out draw it on a bit thicker for a smokier look. No need for eye shadow. Some people love to experiment with different eye shadows for different outfits, but I am big on routines in the morning and prefer it to be simple with just a few go-to products.

I am torn about this eyeliner.
I love the deep creamy black and it smokes out so nicely!
But, I cannot stand the fact that no matter how much I wash or blot or use make up remover after wearing, a day later when all of my other makeup is long gone, I always find chunks of glitter on my face. I am a Registered Nurse and it is not exactly appropriate to show up to work with chunks of hard to remove glitter on my cheeks and forehead. Boo to that.
But yet, it is so creamy and delightful. There's got to be something that fits me a little better out there, right?

I wouldn't say that Oil Slick is an essential or anything, but this is a fun eyeliner to have. It's a dark charcoal gray color with visible silver glitter. I've seen the same thing done a lot of times, but this is my favorite example :)
This is a color that looks great along the upper lash line, or among and under the bottom lashes. You can smudge it out for a smokier look with a bit of glitter here and there, or you can apply in a strong line, which is a bit more dramatic and 'special'.
One thing I would say, however - don't put this on your waterline if you have sensitive eyes. All of the UD 24/7 eyeliners sting a bit on my waterlines, so I don't use them that way, but ones with glitter are the worst for it. That's fine with me, because I don't really want glitter on my waterline, but it's worth mentioning in case anyone reading this review might want to use it that way.
This eyeliner doesn't do anything that you couldn't accomplish with a plain black or dark gray eyeliner and a bit of glitter ... but it's easy and fast, and it looks great.

I like the color, it's not as intense as zero, but I really don't like the glitter. It's just too much, so this color isn't as suitable or versatile for day or business wear. It will be more for going out, which is a shame, because the base color really is lovely gray and goes with so many makeup styles. This is my ongoing complaint with Urban Decay. I love their products, hate the sparkles. I'd buy this color again if it came without sparkles.

ove this eyeliner! my first UD 24/7 pencil was bourbon - which i really really love - except that i couldn't find a sharpener that would work with it - every one i tried would over sharpen the color at the base of and would break it off...i was sad i was never able to get the same precision tip :(
at sephora i saw they had the 24/7 duos with the UD grindhouse sharpener and figures what the heck. i LOVE this color (oil slick) and can see it being a daily wear for me . i do love my MAC blacktrack... but gel liners take more time for me to apply and this pencil is a snap. great color and a tiny bit of shimmer... glides on great and lasts all day with shadow set over it .
the price is pretty steep for a pencil - i will probably only purchase as a set - but will hunt for it again!
as for the grindhouse sharpener - i haven't used it yet and just read on these reviews that Wet n Wild makes one that works well - oh well live and learn. fingers crossed :)

I LOVE this product! Almost my whole life I've been stuck with using black eye liner. Not that anyone forced me. I just kind of fell into it and it was my comfort, what I was used to, zone.
Oil Slick is a dark gray with glitter. Really nice, smooth application. With the gray, you get a nice soft line that is still very flattering and the light sparkle of the glitter makes your eyes pop.
Really good product that stays and doesn't smear on me. I love it. Don't know if I'll ever go back to the black liner.

I just love UD 24/7 pencils. All of them. I own over 10 of them and had to get Oil slick! I have to say that it doesn't replace zero as a black pencil.
Pro : The sparkles pencils last longer than the regular ones (obviously because of the sparkles).
Cons : But are also harder to remove, hard to get rid of all the sparkles.
Overall, I don't think that I will buy again.

I am dyslexic when it comes to liquid liners BUT ...I can put this stuff on and it looks perfect. I love the not quite black color and but for the (seems to be a problem w/ UD) packaging which will eventually bug me because I can't get all the product - I love this liner. I just bought 'smog' so let's see if the love affair continues....
