OMG this stuff is AMAZING!!!! I thought I had found my HG with fluidline blacktrack- WRONG! This chromaline is ten times better. It's way more creamier, applies so smoothly, is blacker than blacktrack, and the best bit is its WATERPROOF!!!! This is the best thing for me as I suffer from watery eyes now and then which can be so annoying! The amount of times I've ended up wiping off a wing is unbelievable. Not any more! I took my make up off at 5.30am this morning, after applying it at 10am. Well let me tell you, it still looked just as fresh as when I first applied it. 20 hours later??!!! Seriously! How fantastic is that?! That was definitely NOT the case with blacktrack. Seriously guys, if you are even thinking about getting this DO!!! I promise you will not be disappointed, I'm wondering how I've coped without it all my life!!!!!!!! X

Chromaline comes in a pot the size of a paint pot. This shade is a deep black, but not the blackest possible I believe.

It's creamy and goes on smoothly without tugging, stays put on the lash line but fades a bit if you apply it on your waterline.

I find I have to apply two layers to get to the desired intensity.

I can't compare it to Blacktrack since the Blacktrack I had was dried out right from the start and very soon I couldn't even get it onto my brush, and honestly I don't recall how dark was it.

I apply this on the lash line with some unknown brand angled brush that is slightly thick, then wing it out using Essence's gel liner brush.

Btw, I find the Essence black gel liner to be blacker than this, it's just too soft in the pot and did go bad a few months after opening, I could tell from the smell. But the performance was great.

All in all, this is a good heavy duty product that only lacked the desired depth I was looking for. It is still a product that I use on a daily basis. I'll just try out other gel liners out there before returning to this when I run out.

I was excited when MAC started carrying pro products on the main website. I immediately purchased this chromaline after seeing raves on YouTube and beauty blogs. What I love about these is that they are the size of a MAC Paint Pot, and only a few dollars more. I have the Blacktrack Fluidline, and I really don't care for it- it doesn't glide on nicely, and it dried out in the package- I mostly use it as a base now. The Chromaline goes on incredibly smooth and crisp, and it's very black- no ashy undertone. I apply it with my Sigma angled brush. I absolutely adore this product, and it's a must if you love gel liners.

I love this gel eyeliner and have tried myself: mufe, bb, blacktrack and smashbox jet set, this is the best so far.

pros:

-it is very long wearing, stays put all day long and even waterproof.
-good packaging.
-you get more product so it is worth the money.
- it is very black
-dries up quick but easy to apply.

cons:

-the only "bad" thing is that as it is a big pot it might dry if you donīt use it on a daily basis but I just warm it up a little bit with my 210 brush and it works (and I use it every day).

This is at least as good as Black Fluidline and you get so much more for your money. These are the size of MAC Paint Pots, so 5gm as compared to the Fluidlines which are 3gm. I found this wore all day without a hitch and fortunately is one of the Chromalines that is actually safe for the eye area. (Most of the coloured ones are not). Texture is very creamy and easy to apply. I've heard on a YouTube video that EnKore likes to depot a bit of Fluidline into smaller containers to help keep the main container from too much exposure to oxygen thus slow down the eventual dry out, so you could to that with these as well. I tend to just lay the lid upside down over top of the pot while I'm applying to help keep the oxygen out. These may be Pro products but that doesn't mean only Pros can get their paws on these. You can call them and they'll send them to you, you just don't get the Pro discount.

Excellent gel eyeliner that is now my HG. I replaced my beloved MAC fluidline with it and never looked back. The container is bigger, the texture is even creamier and the color is blackest black you can imagine. Wonderful unmatched staying power and the pot will last me a loong time with my every day application. Will repurchase and probably get a backup pot just in case it will be discontinued while I'm on my first one.

I've tried Bobbi Brown and MAC Fluidline, and so far I like this one the best. It's the blackest of the three and as long as I wear a primer underneath (MAC paint in Canvas), I can get it to outlast Bobbi Brown and MAC Fluidline on my very oily eyelids. Otherwise without a primer, MAC Fluidline wears longer. Only slight fading through a 15-day which is feat for my type of skin.

If your looking for a cream liner that's long lasting and won't smudge at all. This product is definitely for you! This is HG for me. You need a small amount, super pigmented, doesn't budge it's THE BEST LINER! I am all about the colors and they have super bright colors that I LOVE and no other liner can compare to this!

This doesn't get nearly as praise as does Fluidline and BB long-wear gel liners, but it tops both of them. In fact, I should say that Chromaline is the best of the bests. Granted, the color selection is rather unuseful for non-pros, since the range consists of bright colors that are mostly for artful purposes. However, (OH!) the lasting power, pigmentation and texture of this little pot of black gold is out of this world. Never has it failed me, rain or shine, primer or naked lid, over shadow or by itself. What's even better is that at the end of the day, my foaming cleanser takes it right off (I always cleanse twice, 30sec each time, once to take off the makeup and once to properly wash). HG status, as long as I'm going to wear black liner.

I have worn thick cat eyeliner for 10 years or more everyday. I have oily eyelids and need something that will stay put all day but not irritate my contact lenses. Alot you ask, not when it comes to this product. I have purchased every gel and cream liner on the market from high end to drug store.. no comparison, hands down this is the best out there. Not to mention you get so much product for your money! This should last you at least a year!!! Imagine how often you have to replace each year your liquid eyeliner or your gel liners that dry out! Not this one! I make sure that I store the container upside down with its lid on tight and I have never had this product dry up on me. I wish it was as publicized as Fluidline and Bobbi Brown's cream liner on yourtube by guru's or on here as well. Give it a try you will not be disappointed!

I bought this at the MAC pro store in Vancouver. I love how intensely black, longwearing and creamy the product is. Although, when I first started using it over a year ago I noticed that it was irritating my eyes a bit. Now, I use it regularly and have not noticed any irritation (it seems like the irritation stopped after a few weeks). I am not a fan of the packaging of many gel liners, this one included. After a little over a year of owning it I noticed that it has begun to dry out because of the packaging. However, it is still one of my favourite black liners and I will definitely repurchase next time I am in Vancouver :)

I can't say enough good things about this product. I can have a 12-14 hour day and it still looks as fresh as when I first put it on!!

The specifics:

1. Price - This runs $17.50 USD which, yes, is $2.50 more than Fluidline, but you're also getting almost double the product. (Fluidline is 0.1 fl oz, Chromaline is the size of a paint pot, .17 fl oz). Definitely worth the few extra bucks.

2. Packaging quality - Again, just like paint pots, so so complaints here.

3. Staying power - here's where the difference between Fluidline really stands out. After 8 hours, my Blacktrack had faded. 16 hours in my Black Black Chromaline is just as sharp as when I applied it, which brings me to...

4. Application - I can't help but feel that this product is creamier than Fluidline. It goes on my brush smoother, it slides right on my eyelid, and applies just as dark as it does from the jar. Fluidline is great and very flexible, but it takes a couple of coats (if you will) to get the blackest black possible. This? Nope. The one will do you juuuust fine.

*I would also like to point out that if you tend to open your eyes wide and get your eyeliner up into the crease, you'll probably want to give this a minute or two of dry time. It's pretty quick dry, but to be on the safe side, let it set :)

I love this product. I've been using it for almost 2 years now and still have so much product left and it's still as creamy as the day I received it. I was sent this because of a mistake with my order but I find that when I run out, I will definitely repurchase it. I like this product and Blacktrack equally but seeing as how there is more product in Chromaline, I'd probably repurchase it more so than Blacktrack. Haven't tried using it as a base but love it as an eyeliner, stays on the entire day without fading.

i got this product at my nearby mac pro store, it is the same size of my paint pots which i think is nice. i was planning on getting the fluid line but then i checked this out and decided to get this instead of the fluid line because you get more product. this is an awesome cream liner and it stays on the whole day for me. i will repurchase!!

This is an okay eyeliner, I thought it was going to finally TOP my blacktrack fluidline. I noticed that Black Black tends to smear onto my top lid within hours. It's not a pretty look! I think it's because this is more moist than say Blacktrack. I do like the size of this pot, especially for the price, it's a good amount :D I haven't tried it as a black base for eyeshadows yet. I will soon! This does glide on nicely though, its a real true black that doesn't fade over my lashes.

This is a decent black liner. It's a little hard to apply but if you work with it you can get a pretty good line. It claims to be waterproof but it definitely didn't pass the pool test for me. My sister loves it as a base instead of Blackground PP though.

I like this product, but I bought it more for eyelining purposes than to use it as a base. This comes in a much bigger pot than MAC Fluidlines, the size is identical to Paint Pots. I like that Black Black is matte and applies easily along the lash line, and it lasts almost all day without flaking... similarly to Fluidlines. The only thing is, I think I prefer Blacktrack Fluidline as a black liner... it is deeper black (IMO) and has a little glossier look to it.

EDIT *** 10/30/10: I find myself reaching for this Chromaline more and more... will definitely repurchase if available!!! I find that this stuff doesn't budge when my eyes are acting up due to allergies. It's fantastic! Better than any pencil or liquid liner, and equivalent to Fluidlines, but in a much bigger pot.

probably the greatest black base in history (better than the black paint pot for sure). if i could compare it to tar i would, but that would make it sound gross, which it is not. it's amazing.
it's a gel-cream so it is smooth but the finish itself is more on the sticky side, making it an amazing base. pigments and shadows adhere to this like you wouldnt believe, and if you apply a decent amount (not a whole bunch) this will NEVER crease. make sure to let it dry for a good 20 secs though.
If you just put on the chromaline itself it would also work for a sexy, edgy rocker look because this is THE blackest black. the blackest black-ness makes it such a good canvas because it's blunt, to the point...it's just black (not a purpley black, not a dull black- aka almost gray-, not a navy or greenish black). a true, tar-like, black base.

LOVE THIS ( $16.50, mac PRO only)
