(017) Red Muse, is the perfect warm red I've ever seen. My first lipstick in this line was Lingerie Pink, and I recently moved on to bolder shades like this. This red was everything I was seeking and more. I'm a redhead with fair skin, and it looks fantastic on me. I haven't had any issues with feathering, and I apply it over my regular lip balm. I would recommend using lip scrubs for people who are having issues with feathering, as it's a sign of aging. I personally use fresh Lip Polish, which works great. I also alternate my lip balms between La Mer and ByTerry. I think that it's important to go all out if you're going to plunk down the money for lipstick like this to use proper skincare products in conjunction.

Beautiful shade, poor quality. When spending $34 on lipstick, I expect it to stay on my lips. No amount of fancy footwork could keep this product on my lips and off of my face. I experienced the bleeding of a 60 year old smoker. I wasn't even aware I had fine lines around my lips until I wore this lipstick. If feels amazing going on and the color is sensational on my NW20 skin, but unfortunately it had to go back to Sephora. My Maybelline Very Cherry is just as beautiful and a much better buy. Save your money and go to CVS.

I received this as a gift a couple of years ago and can honestly say I've used it only twice. This particular lipstick is a blue-based red that I'm not a fan of. I happen to own other red lipsticks, most of which lean neutral to warm and work wonderfully with my skin tone, so this is one of the few that I can't ever get to look right on me.

My other problem is the formula. It's so creamy, that it bleeds easily, unless I use a lip liner, which is a no-no since I have red lipsticks that are much less high maintenance and cost 1/3 of the price of this lipstick.

Also, I have an almost-exact color dupe: Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in Temptation. The differences being, of course, formulation, texture and a shimmery (but hardly noticeable) finish.

As for the packaging, it's lovely. It's a sturdy, somewhat heavy lipstick case I can't help but admire. Too bad I can't say the same for the actual product :(

This luxurious lipstick has a soft, velvety texture and glides on like pure silk. Red Muse is a vibrant red orange that I think would be universally flattering on all skin types. Expensive but worth it.

This formula is to die for! It is extremely comfortable on your lips, glide on so smoothly and is so heavily pigmented that the tiniest amount goes a long, long way. # 17 Red Muse is a bright medium red that looks neutral towards warm in the tube. On my lips it applies slightly cooler. Perfect for a sophisticated look where you want either the lips to be the focal point or if you want full on drama for the evening. After I found this formula I have bought more lipsticks from the range and I am equally pleased.

This is one of my HG lipsticks. It is a fab orange/red and a little goes a LONG way! I love the silky texture of this lipstick. It makes me feel like an old-hollywood star. This lipstick color reminds me of a red velvet cake--super pretty. Everyone should have a good lipstick like this one in their collection.

On the rare occasion that I wear bright red lipstick, this is it. It glides on sooooooo smoothly and feels so luxurious against my lips, like it's nourishing them. After lining my lips with a matching red pencil and putting this on, it doesn't flake, dry, smear or run off anywhere. Pricey, but I guess you get what you pay for :)

Heaven in a tube.

A huge fan of all the other YSL Rouge Voluptes as well as a great red lip, I snatched this up faster than you could blink. Well, this is PERFECTION. It is so moisturizing, and slick, and creamy, and bright...it is just amazing. Now, I would say application with this - as with any red lip - is tricky as it needs to be precise. I have large, full lips (bigger than Angelina Jolie!) and can get away with applying right from the tube although I do use a red liner first. Those with thinner lips may find using a brush to be easier, as the lipstick really does slide quickly across the mouth from the formula. For all its slickness, it really does wear fantastically. Even when it's gone, there's a gorgeous natural red flush behind. I absolutely adore this, and it is my HG high-end red lip.

I am such a big fan of ysl products despite them being pricey, this lipstick is no different. Gorgeous colour that glides on perfect the first time, it is also extremely moisturising on the lips and smells like melon, yum. But i have to say i wouldn't buy it again, it's just too rich in colour for me i like something not quite so...much if that makes sense, it's also quite thick and therefore prone to smudging.

Gorgeous red for those who like me, prefer a blue toned red rather than orange. Glamourous metal tube you can be proud to take out of your bag. It has a very nice texture but I took one lippie off for staying power. It is so moisturising that it tends to smudge, or your teeth, and blotting takes away a lot of the colour. If you want a nice matte blue red get Mac's Ruby Woo, but this is lovely for times when you are not doing much eating/drinking. nb. You need to apply with a line first or it goes all over your face!

This shade is one of my favourite reds. This lipstick seems to have more pink in it but still appears very red. Unfortunately all the Rogue Volupte's are high maintenance lipsticks i.e. you need a good lip primer (optional), a lip liner and a lip brush. If you apply it straight onto the lips without a lip liner it will smudge everywhere and it won't last all that long. But to me it is worth the trouble. The formula is extremely pigmented and creamy so you'll need to do a bit of experimenting to see what works best with the lipstick. I find that a lip liner alone is not always that trustworthy so I like to apply a lipstick with a drier formula before my Rogue Volupte. The Rogue Volupte has a glossy/shinny finish along with a fruity scent. The the packaging is an A+.

Such a beautiful shade of red on me. I had heard so much about #18 but when the SA decided to try this shade on me too I was definitely surprised. Didn't think it would look as good on me since it appeared rather bright and almost orangey in the tube compared to 18. Couldn't hide the fact that it indeed looked better on me than blah 18 though. I supposed 18 just had too many dupes. And wasn't anything special afterall. Red Muse brightened up my face and just looked perfect on my tone. I would have purchased it again though I hate how incredibly soft these lipsticks are and how the last. So easy to waste the product. Doesn't last long and basically melts onto your lips each swipe, if that makes any sense. Just a waste. Otherwise it's be something worthy of repurchasing.

I adored this lipstick, it has just enough pinkiness in it to avoid bringing out the red in my complexion, and I'm a sucker for a red lip. The packaging is to die for and makes me feel pretty classy when I'm pulling it out for touch ups during the day. It doesn't survive food and drink well at all, but I find touch ups pretty glamorous, and this is the only time you need to touch it up. It goes on creamy although can become dry the longer you wear it. Usually putting some balm on before application solves this problem for me. And I'm usually eating by the 4 hour mark when it starts to dry, so I'm gonna reapply anyway! :) I didn't have any issues with bleeding, my only niggle is the price, but ultimately I love it enough to fork out for it.

Beautiful, the packaging is gorgeous and the lipstick is so moisturizing, creamy and smooth. Unfortunately it bleeds a tiny bit, but it's no problem with lipliner. The Rouge Volupte lipsticks are very opaque and the colours are beautiful. I prefer my red lipsticks to be a bit more sheer, so I don't think I'd buy this particular colour again, but I'd love to try some of the pinks.

I love this lipstick! It's the first one that I wear regularly. It makes me feel so glamourous.
I love the colour! I have VERY pale skin and dark red hair. I wanted a blue based but still very bright vibrant red so this is perfect!
The packaging is to die for! Gold case with a strip around the middle to show the colour and a tiny mirror on the top.
The formula is so creamy. My lips feel great when I'm wearing it. Moisturised and soft.
When I run out I will definitely buy it again.

Fantastic Red -- orange undertones.

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous. I don't detect any fragrance which would make it unbearable. The texture of the Rouge Volupte's is amazing.. like butter only betta..cause they dry to a semi matte finish.

These are beautiful to look at and wonderful to apply. I would recommend a good exfoliation and balm underneath as they can be a bit drying. But then I think everyone should use a balm (pref. with spf) underneath any lipstick -- even gloss.

the perfect red lipstick. it's gorgeous and it's a medium red, although it supposedly has orange undertones, it does not look like it. it's a true red which stands out.
the texture is smooth, there is a faint fruity smell which i love.
however it is quite creamy so you may have to use a lip brush or liner so it doesn't bleed or spread too much.
the price is quite expensive however i got this on sale for AUD $19 so i was quite happy. the packaging is perfect! it's so beautiful and has it's own little mirror. would definitely re-purchase if i ever run out as it is the best red lipstick i've ever tried

Extraordinary packaging. Gorgeous scent (mild mango, fruity). Very smooth, silky application and extremely dense pigmentation. This is runway model lipstick. Red Muse is a beautiful, true red, which I believe has been selected by one of the all-time best red lipsticks by Elle or some such magazine. Perfect medium red, mild blue undertone. Dry-down is a dark red-pink. Lasting power excellent. If you're looking for a classic red, try this one. I can't imagine it would look bad on anyone. It's movie siren red and very sophisticated.
