Would I buy this lipstick again? Most definitely. Why? It does plump my lips. And they tingle when you apply it. It's a nice matte color. It's creamy. It's long-lasting. It goes on easily. It's an odd shaped lipstick container. It's like an elongated fat pencil in a tube that you can twist up with a point. But that's the magic of it. It has a point so you can define your lips and it's chubby at the same time so you can also color your lips. There's a built-in sharpener so the point always stays sharp. It's long so it does last a long time and you do get your money's worth. It's not that cheap for a lipstick, but it has so many good qualities it's worth it.
Be careful of the colors that you choose tho, the reds changed on me. I bought Monte Carlo, which is listed as "Magenta", but looks a beautiful red on me. I also have Amsterdam, which they say is a "blushing pink", but is more of a neutral tan on my lips. Regardless, I still love Buxom's Big & Healthy Lip Sticks. My lips never go dry when I'm wearing them. The lipstick contains Vitamins A, C & E which I'm sure moisturizes and hydrates. I'm happy with one in the tan family and one in the red family for now.
Bare Escentuals is also an integrity company, agreeing with the Supply Chain Transparency. I wish more companies worked on human integrity as they do. I'm willing to support a business that believes in the human spirit as they do.

Buxom Lip Sticks are so amazing. They go on smooth and feel great with just a hint of tingly feeling (the plumper). Best of all, though, is that it stays on my lip ALL DAY!
I have the lipsticks in 3 different colors: "Athens" is kind of pink/coral and pops without overpowering. I like "Brooklyn" for nighttime because it's kind of a wine-color, but not too dark. My favorite, though, is "Amsterdam" which is more of a rosy nude. I wear it the most (for work).
My only complaint: If my lips are a little dry, the lipstick flakes off and doesn't look good. But this doesn't happen often.

I have the amsterdam one. It smells wonderful, but it is hard to apply. It doesn't seem to go on smoothly and I wasn't impressed with pale colour either.

Mint! My lips were tingling for a good 10 minutes which I found hilarious. I have sahara desert lips so I have trouble with lipsticks cause they're usually so drying, but not this. I think it's actually more moisturizing than revlon lip butters. Really creamy and it's this lovely rose, not too bright or anything

Have two in Amsterdam (rosy nude) and Milan ("spiced" apricot). Great colours, no shimmer, but the cooling effect was too much for my lips. It made my lips so cold that when I removed the lip colour, I'd end up with darker, almost purplish lips.

i LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE these lip glosses they are so pigmented and smooth. they have a minty smell and when on the lips have a minty tingling sensation but i like that in a lip gloss. they are like a the color pay off of a lipstick but the glossy finish of a lip gloss i will defiantly be repurchasing these and hope to get all of them but they are pretty expensive but there worth all the 18 dollars

I bought this product in Athens, I was looking for a Peachy, pink orangy color and well i found it! IT DOES NOT DRY MY LIPS. its extremely moisturizing I love the COLOR IT IS SO BEAUTIFUL! The consistency is creamy not matte but more natural which i love, perfect for summer. It looks neony on my skin tone. Im soft tanned with yellow and orange undertones. This product will look great on any light to medium tanned skin tones.

I'm writing a review for Amsterdam. The color is a lovely rosy nude. The lasting power is great, it stays for a few hours on me when layered over a moisturizing balm. I use a balm underneath because the formula can be a bit drying. I love the cooling sensation that it gives. The packaging is sleek and stylish, I like that it is a twist up product. I first received this as a sample from Sephora and after using it a couple of times I ran back to the store and purchased the full size.

AMAZING! This is by far my favorite lip product. It combines the precision of a lip liner, the pigmentation of a lipstick, and the ease of a lip gloss all into one product. I have it in Athens, Amsterdam and Nantucket. Amsterdam is my favorite so far. It is a rosy nude so it doesn't really look like i'm wearing anything at all, but it plumps my lips so I look like i have naturally full lips! I love the tingling sensation, it is not too overpowering like some of the other plumpers out there. It is pretty long-wearing and so easy to apply. Also, everyone comes with a sharpener at the end if you want to keep the pointy end that it comes with when you buy it. Highly recommend!!!

I got this as a sample from JCPenney Sephora and I'm so glad I did. The texture, colour selection, and lasting power are great. It doesn't slip and slide like Revlon Colorburst or MAC lustres. I've noticed other reviewers stating they have it tingles, but for me its a cooling sensation. I took one lippie off since the selection of nudes is low. I will repurchase.

I was looking for something that plumped a bit, was non-drying, and was not glossy-Never been a fan of BE~I tried both the buxom gloss and balm and found them mediocre.
This lipstick pencil is really good however, and wears really well under gloss and with myriad liners. Make sure your lips are well moisturized, this can drag and drop dry skin when applying.
It has a cooling effect on the lips and a minty taste that honestly can be a bit much..I don't recommend pairing them with minty glosses-Buxom, UD, unless you are really into the mint thing.
It does plump a bit and has a satin finish.
The shades I have are:
Marrekesh~A really workable, neutral, light nude with cooler undertones (no orange) but still a yellow beige
Amsterdam~A rich, medium, rosy nude with warm undertones. An unusual shade, that fades out beautifully.
Vienna~A little garish on my skintone, but with darker complexions the bright pale pink/violet would look great. Though a great base for peach glosses to give them depth on anyone.
Bombay~A true rose (peach and pink with red undertones)..Slightly bright, though my favorite thus far.
Fresno~A brisk-ish wine. A flattering dark lip look-though It fades fast and not as evenly as the others. the darker pigmentatation of this shade may be an issue here.
I ordered San Francisco and Nantucket next-will update when I receive them.
EDIT: I received San Francisco and it is a little blah. On sephora, it said muted mauve but it is more of a neutral dark pink. A little old lady for me. It fades out well though- but needs a kick of a bright gloss to look wearable.

I bought this at Sephora, in the color Brooklyn, after I tried it on (purely on a whim, I was sure this color would not work for me)...and...I love it! The color is great, not really brick-ish colored, more MLBB. I can't really call it lipstick because it doesn't really feel like lipstick on, but is definitely creamier than a liner. It feels light and I like the tingle. The color lasts pretty well for me so it's a pretty natural, neutral look for me. With gloss on top, it's a bit dressier and very pretty!
Update two weeks later: I now own this lipstick in the colors Brooklyn (obviously), London (baby pink), Athens (Sephora description says peachy-pink, but it's a vivid peach), Fresno (blackberry wine), Bombay (poppy rose), Marrakech (beige nude), and Vienna (pink lilac). Yep, I splurged at Sephora. I can honestly say I like all of these colors, some more than others, it's true, but I like the possibilities of all of them. Some (the lights) need to be applied over lip balm so they don't magnify every little bump and crease in your lips, and to help them go on a little more smoothly. The mids and darks are gorgeous on their own but are magical when you put a gloss on top. Fresno is the only one that is really too dark for me but I can use it more like a stain (apply balm, apply Fresno, blot, more balm or a soft gloss). I am having a blast mixing and matching colors! With balm under, the lipsticks last easily three to four hours for me (without drinking); with gloss added on top, the wear is even better.

I have a mini Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Stick in Athens and LOVE it. The color looks beautiful against my warm/neutral C5/NC42 skin, the taste is pleasant (exact same taste as a MAC Plushglass) and the product itself plumps my top lip just the right amount. If you have thin lips and are looking for something that will make a significant difference, keep looking. But, if you have decent sized lips and want them to look a bit plumper or have a more full look, then this is for you. Athens seems MATTE (maybe SATIN), btw. I have no idea if all Buxom Big & Healthy Lip Sticks have the same finish/texture, though. I got mine in the "Travel In Style" set with a mini Monica Lip Polish & whenever I want a glossy finish I put Monica over Athens. They go perfectly together!

OMG this is my absolute HG of lipsticks!!! The colors are amazing and rich, the texture is smoothing and not drying, the packaging is perfect and compact, and it tingles just a bit. I cannot believe it has taken me this long to try this lipstick (I think it's because I always get MAC ones when I do Back to MAC). This is by far way better!

As I am not a huge fan of BE, I did not expect much from the Brooklyn lip color sample that I received. I have to say, I am impressed with the long lasting color of this product. Brooklyn is a warm brick red that is very wearable with my auburn hair and porcelain skin. The color lasts a long time. I really like that the pencil style of this so that you can line your lips and fill in the lip area with ease. I do not notice any plumping effect even though this lip stick imparts a long lasting menthol tingle. Absolutely will be purchasing this in Brooklyn and whatever nude color available.

I am shocked these got such low reviews! This work beautifully for me, I have Amsterdam (which works great as a nude/pink shade), Barcelona (red), and San Francisco (a more mauve color) .. between the three, I'm, covered. I use these often as bases before i apply the Buxom lipgloss, and they go so beautifully together. They're creamy, they don't get all over my teeth, they tingle, plump, and feel nourishing.

Have this in Athens lip duo with Monica lip gloss. I haven't tried any of the Buxom line, but I do collect lip products quickly. Both peachy coral colours which really is not the best for my pale skin tone, but I wear both with a light hand. Also, when I paired the two products together, the tingling sensation was very irritating. I didn't get it for the "plumping" and it doesn't really work any way. I usually just use this lip stick to line and then smudge it which gives it a lighter look. The formula is not too moisturizing, so I need to always pair it with a lip balm. I like the stick packaging. Nothing special and won't repurchase this line.

I was looking for a natural looking red and had heard rave reviews about Buxom's Barcelona. I was nervous when I first put it on, but it's really grown on me. It's the only red I've ever worn that didn't make my teeth and/or skin look yellow. The matte finish means I'd even feel comfortable wearing it on a fairly normal day.
I can't wait to buy another color, maybe a nude!
The only reason I didn't give it 5 lipsticks is because I just tried it on and am still in the "I love it!" phase. I'll come back in a week or two and write more.

Sorry I bought this. I got this in Sydney mainly because I liked the size, which is smaller and more precise than most lipsticks. Sydney is your basic nude, but not a YLBB so much as just YL - because I can barely tell when I'm wearing it. It makes my lips look dry, which is pretty much the opposite of what I want from a lipstick, and doesn't seem to do much for them. Oh, and I am so sick of the heavy vanilla fragrance BE puts in these Buxom lip products. Enough already. I won't buy BE lip anything again.

This lipstick does do what it claims -- it defines, fills in and plumps -- I just wish it lasted longer. I use both Brooklyn and San Francisco (which are actually sort of similar). They start off deep pink / mauvey, but as they dry out, they fade to a lighter (less attractive) hot pink.
In terms of the darker shades, they are great if you remember to reapply. When I used Amsterdam (which is much lighter), I did not have the same fading issue.
