Like others, I was surprised by the negative reviews for this. The color is a peachy nude with a subtle shimmer that won't make your lips look like a disco ball. I am fair skinned and this shade flatters my skin tone; it doesn't wash me out at all. It looks great alone or over a dark red lipstick. One drawback is that the forumula tends to clump, especially on dry lips, and it's not very "buildable". Apply more than one coat and watch your lips become a pile of goo. To counteract the clumping factor, I use Aquafina lip balm as a primer and then apply with a light hand. Then the lip gloss will go on smoothly. Although the application process can be a little tricky, I continue to buy this because I like the color and it's very inexpensive.

Yes this lip gloss is thick and frosty and long lasting, everyone says that like it's a bad thing. It's awesome, I love it...and wow, it looks sexy with smokey eyes! It makes my lips look very full. It is a very pretty, pale, opaque mocha color gloss! Love It!

I really thought this would be a good nude gloss for my skin tone. umm..wrong! The frost in this gloss makes my lips look ashy. From far away it's not so bad, but up close is a cracked out mess. I tried layering it, but that didn't help either. This would be so much better without the frost. No bueno.

pretty poor lipgloss that made my lips break out with an allergic reaction. not sure what the ingredient is that is bad inside but i would never buy this again. sure it's cheap but you really get what you pay for in this situation.

Color looked great in the tube, HORRIBLE on. It was like my lips had frostbite, trashed this immediately.

I dont judge quality of makeup by price, or by popularity, I think all brands have their duds. This is one of them. Personally, I have tried many NYC lipglosses over the years, and this is my LEAST favorite. The problem? All the color. It isnt sheer, its more of a liquid lipstick, but when you apply it it doesnt come off as a pretty golden neutral gloss, instead it was a frosty white color with odd silver undertones, and you cant blot it to make it appear more sheer, if you do blot it it tends to come off in chunks. It does last a long time, but seriously, this color is one of the ugliest I've come across. I also have super pale skin so its not that this gloss is to pale for me.

If you are looking for a silver toned white for halloween, this might be an okay buy, but other than that, I reccomend people refrain from buying this.

Great inexpensive glosses? Bath and body works lip glosses, Revlon lipshine (a bit pricey, but amazing) ELF (The darker shades are nice) Milani.

just not this one.

I love this lip gloss and I can't say enough good things about it. Anytime I'm wearing a nude/beige/brown lip, I layer this on top. It is a gorgeous light brown gloss with a ton of frost, which I love. Anything sparkly is my weakness, and if it's yours too, you'll love this gloss. I have never paid more than $1.99 USD for any N.Y.C. product, which is great, too. I have layered this "cheap" gloss over MAC lipsticks and have loved it. I've never had a problem with the gloss feeling sticky or goopy at all. Almost forgot... I'm very fair with pink undertones, brown hair, blue eyes. It's tough for me to find neutrals/browns that go well with my pinkness, but this one has never clashed with me at all. This is honestly one of my favorite lip products and I have recommended it to friends.

Sigh. I sooo wanted to like this. The packaging is really cute and the color looked like the perfect nude in the tube.

Yeahhhh, not so much.

It's so thick it's hard to blend over the lips, it's very sticky, and it's too pigmented to put on a thin or light layer.

This is also so frosty that instead of giving a nude lip, it just makes me look like I made out with a powdered donut.

It also smells gross. Like a cheapo, fakey vanilla car freshener.

I'll probably use this up as a highlight in the middle of my bottom lip, just because I hate wasting products I pay for, but I definitely won't buy this again.

This stuff sucks. I can usually handle frost but I can't handle this. Plus, the color is horrid. Don't buy it. Even if it's a dollar.

I can't believe there is so much negativity around this product! It's a really pretty frosty nude with hits of beige, brown and even a little bit of peach (at least that's how it looks on my lips). It looks great on it's own with a smokey eye, as well as on top of your nude lip gloss. I picked it up at Wal-Mart for $2.49CDN, you can't beat the price! It's worth a try whether you turn out to love it or hate it.

The lip gloss' texture is tacky, it tastes great, and it smells great. However, it does not look so great. I have fun with it anyway. I love the smokey eyed look paired with nude lips. I decided to buy this lip gloss and try it on. The color matches my skin, but the gloss has a high shine. If the lip gloss was not quite so shiny, it would look a lot better. I still use the gloss over nude colored lipstick.

frosty !!!!! was so disappointed about that. i gave it 3 stars because i absolutely love the texture of the gloss .. thick, tacky, long lasting and lots of color. i will be checking out other colors of NYC glosses because of that but this color just won't do unless it's applied *very* lightly. this color looks like little kid makeup.

When I read the previous reviewer's "porno flick" comment, I laughed because it's so true! This gloss would be a very beautiful shell color if it were not so opaque. It doesn't allow for your natural lips to show through, so I will not purchase again. Like another person said, I usually have to blend this product with a lipstick to make use of it, and that's too much work for me.

I really expected this gloss to be sticky considering the price, but was pleasantly surprised with the texture. The color is merely okay, but the finish is waaaaaayyy too '70s porno flick frosty for me. I layer this under Revlon SL "Coffee Gleam" which is too brown for me and am very happy with this combo.

I would purchase this again in another color if I thought the finish would be different. Great gloss for the price, but too much frost.

This is a really frosted light brown color on me. To wear I have to blot, especially around the outer lip. Will not repurchase since it take a couple of steps to wear this color. It's a nice color just not on with my DDD coloring.
