I bought this foundation in #8 at a make-up counter in the airport where the sales lady matched me up. Unfortunately she matched me up with the totally wrong shade, and I look quite nice when I apply this but it becomes too orange after five or ten minutes. Maybe it oxidizes or something. During the winter months I am too fair for this foundation, and during the summer months I really do not like to apply too much foundation.
It is a shame that I did not find the right match for my skin, because I really like this foundation. It has a silky smooth feel when applied with a proper foundation brush. It does not make my poors clog, and it does not make my oily t-zone worse either. And it holds quite nice during the day. Even though it is pricey, this product delivers. I like everything about this foundation, except from the small colour range.

This is my HG foundation! I have it in #4 which is a bit too light for my nc 25 skintone. It gives the most beautiful matte finish (not too matte). It's great for people with combination skin like me. The lasting power is great. I work 10 hours a day and when I want my foundation to stay (without setting it with a powder) this is the best for me! It is pricey but worth the money :) give this a try!

Best foundation ever!
#4 sand matches my skin better than any foundation I've ever used. Ive tried Shu Uemura, Nars, Dior, Chanel and none of them have come as close as this. The finish is beautiful and almost creates a light from within that brings perfected life to your skin. Looks flawless and amazing on everybody.

Before beginning the review, I want to say that I have sensitive skin that is very dry most of the year but in humid and warm summers becomes dry to normal. I am an NC15-20 in MAC foundations depending on the season, and have a few broken capillaries but no acne.
Ok, now for the foundation:
I have Teint Resist in shade 2, which fits me best in winter. The texture is not the smoothest liquid foundation I have come across, but it isn't grainy either. It is about medium to full-medium coverage.
This foundation was tricky for me to work with for a while, since it seemed to accentuate drier areas on my face (perhaps my fault for buying a non-moisturizing foundation on my dry skin...). I wanted a transfer-proof foundation for a special occasion since I find that some of my foundations transfer without a light setting of loose powder. Teint Resist applied fairly nicely without a moisturizing primer and a MAC 188 stippling brush and photographs beautifully, but after an hour (no powder used) my face was looking drier than normal. I tried many times and with different methods to apply this, and almost gave up, but decided to apply it over my Korres Quercetin and Oak primer and to use a flat foundation brush instead of a MAC 188 stippling, using short stroking motions to avoid flakiness. The result was a matte, even skin tone that covered up the redness from my broken capillaries. I do need to add a little highlighter and contour to keep it from being too matte. It photographs nicely and does not transfer at all! It could probably last more than 12 hours, however I haven't tried it past 8.
I considered giving this foundation a 3 because of the difficulty I had finding a way to apply it, however I should have known that might have been tricky since sometimes people with dry skin have difficulty with transfer-proof foundation. But it can work, and looks so nice in photos. I personally would not purchase it again, however it might work easily for people with combination to oily skin types. It also seems to work for people with dry skin, based on previous reviews here, it just took more effort for me than I was hoping for.
I hope this was helpful! Teint Resist is really a nice foundation and the bottle is classy. I recommend at least trying a sample of it if you are looking for a completely transfer-proof, medium coverage foundation.

Firstly, I should say that I was not looking to buy this foundation. I was perfectly happy with the Rimmel foundation I had found at my local supermarket and was actually in the department store intending to buy skincare. However, the YSL lady managed to cast her spell on me with promises such as 'wears all day', 'stunning on your skin' and 'doesn't clog pores' and VOILA! I walked away considerably poorer with this foundation in hand.
Now I know that the reason I was satisfied with cheaper foundations is because I hadn't tried THIS one. The coverage is amazing and the scent is really lovely- almost like cucumber? It also goes an extremely long way with a few pumps covering my entire face. However the real wonder of this foundation is in the APPLICATION: I hadn't even realised applying foundation could be this easy! This formula literally glides onto the skin, so all it takes is one finger and five spare minutes in the morning and I have flawless stress-free skin. It gives a nice flawless finish without looking cakey as well, which is good because I HATE foundation cake!
On the negative side, this foundation is VERY pricey. Pricey enough to balance out all the positives to it, even. All I can say is that you get what you are paying for, and the bottle lasts a long time.
Overall I am a very happy customer and I am happy to fork out the cash permanently for naturally flawless-looking transfer-free foundation.

I am nw20 at the moment and I wear this in shade 02 Blond. This is a beautiful foundation for summer. I get very oily in the summer, and this foundation has held up better than most anything I've tried. The only thing that has lasted longer for me is Revlon's Colorstay, but it breaks me out horribly. I've also tried Lancome Teint Idole Fresh Wear and Estee Lauder Double Wear Light, which are both very nice foundations, but still didn't last all day for me in the summer. Teint Resist beat them all. It's a sheer coverage, lightweight foundation that evens out your skintone beautifully, but will not hide any major flaws. It's somewhat buildable, but really looks its best with just one layer. I use 3 pumps for my entire face, and apply in in sections with my fingers, since it sets rather quickly. I've found that it applies and blends best over freshly washed skin that is still moist but not wet. It dries to a sort of satin matte finish, but not a dead matte. I like to use Fix+ over it to give it a more dewy look. On me, this foundation will last well into the night as long as I don't mess with my face too much by wiping or blotting. My ONE complaint about this foundation is the pump.... the pump sucks. You can't really really do a half pump or anything, so you get the same amount no matter how much pressure you apply. If they changed the pump so that you had more control with it, it would be a flawless product.

Beautiful coverage perfect for warm weather. I use a good moisterizer under it because I have normal skin. It's never dry looking just looks like perfect skin. Love not having to dust over it with powder. Very happy with this foundation.

Great foundation for oily-combination skin. Looks beautiful and feels great. The staying power is very good. I am using shade #7, it is neutral light-medium shade. It has medium-full coverage, but still feels very light on skin, does not feel like a mask. I like it much better than new Dior Forever foundation formula, cause YSL Teint Resist does not feel dry and looks on skin much better.

This foundation is amazing! I am a MAC NC30 and got the shade #5. The coverage is buildable and it smells nice (though not a very strong scent).
I have oily/combo skin depending on the weather but I found that the best application with this foundation is not to use the flat foundation brush!!! It causes streaks! A beauty blender sponge or a stippling brush works the best (even fingers, well for me). Those with dry patchy skin, moisturise before you use this!
The finish was very matte, and my face did not turn oily at the end of the day unlike the MAC studio finish. I highly recommend it even though it is on the pricier side. One pump is enough for me and it feels like your not wearing any foundation on your face at all! It did not oxidise on me either.
Overall I would purchase again when I run out!

I have mixed feelings about this product. I love the packaging, which is a pump and has a substantial feeling glass bottle. The finish is semi-matte and looks fairly natural; it didn't enhance any small areas of mild flaking/dryness that I have. The best application for this seems to be a sponge, with really quick blending (it dries fast). I also tried using a wet sponge but the coverage was not sufficient. To get adequate coverage, I feel like I'm using more product than with other liquid foundations. By the end of the day, when I take off my makeup, I have surprisingly little evidence of foundation on my washcloth (less so than with other long-wearing foundations).

Love, love, love this!!! I have been on a quest to find my perfect foundation, and after months of trying everything I could get my hands on, I decided I would settle for something even just very good. When I finally purchased this in shade #6 ( I'm NC35 ish), I found my perfect match in color and foundation!!! The Florida summer is upon us, and I'm finding this is holding up for at least 8 hours on my combo. but mostly oily skin. I use Obagi skin care followed by Victoria's Secret pro primer spf 20 with this foundation on top. I also use a light dusting of MAC's MSF and I'm good to go! Thank you YSL!!

I can totally appreciate that just like any other cosmetics product this one will not work for everyone, but if you are lucky enough to find the shade, chances are it will work very well for you, unless you are super-dry or super-oily. I for one love this foundation as it provides long-wearing medium coverage that still lets your skin "glow" through, but stays put and resists oiliness and decently covers imperfections. Unlike some long lasting foundations (e.g. Mac Pro Longwear), this one is not tacky at all and easily spreads across your face with just fingers. Compared to Bobbi Brown Natural Finish Long Lasting Foundation, this one is much more longer wearing, at least on my skin (normal to combo for the most, but gets really oily in summer - no acne though).
With that said, the color range is really poor. I was lucky enough to be matched to #2 (Blonde). I am light with yellow undertone and wear Bobbi Brown NFLLF in 2.5 Warm Sand. Compared to that, this one is a tiny bit less yellow, but believe me, it is not noticeable once you put it on your face. I like my foundations really yellow and I am happy with the warmness of this one. In Mac Pro Longwear I was matched to NC 20 (although I would've preferred NC17 or similar). That is just as a reference for all of you looking for the lightest warm colour in teint resist. Just as an FYI, the even numbers in this line are supposed to all be on the warmer side, although some of them tend to have a bit more red/pink than one would hope (i.e. 6). #4 is no longer available, at least not in any of the stores in Canada that carry YSL (but I see it listed on YSL site). So, for lighter-skinned yellow/warm undertoned folks out there, chances are you would match either 2 or 4 (or a mix of those 2), but do keep in mind that they are a tiny bit less yellow than Bobbi's foundations (I adore Bobbi's foundation colors, but find that even NFLLF wears off of me quickly and does not control oil enough in the summer months).
As I said, if you are lucky enough to be closely matched and the texture/coverage ends up working for you, this is one of the most beautiful foundations that you can possibly wear!

i got samples of this, many samples in many colours. i wish i wish i could buy this foundation but they dont have a good colour range. I couldnt find a match for my skin, everything was too pink.
the only reason i gave it a four, and said i would buy it is IF they had my colour i would no doubt fork out the dollars for these reasons.
1. best finish on my skin - not matte not dewy. just right on the borderline about-to-be-matte. and the finish stayed this way the whole day. I have oily skin that greases up badly at about the 4-5 hour mark. my face was a nice dewy look by the 7th hour. MIRACLE WORK!
2. smells decent. i prefer my foundation to not have a smell, but this wasnt too strong.
3. blended well. very well in fact. i could work with it so that meant my face was even in coverage (i used a mac 187 brush).
4. appropriate coverage. i have pretty clear skin just teeny dark brown acne marks from my youth that are not covered up fully even when concealer is in use. This did a pretty good job at diffusing them - they were still there but the coverage was enough for me to feel good about the scarring situation.
5. didnt feel like you were wearing anything at all. i love foundation like this.
if you can find your colour shade, for sure go ahead. it is worth it. i prfer this to diors new forever flawless which had abit less coverage and didnt have as much oil control compared to the YSL

As I'm getting older, my skin's needs are changing so I've been trying out different foundations and came across YSL Teint Resist. The foundation itself is good and it didn't separate on my face as much as some other foundations do as my face gets oily throughout the day. But the color selection didn't suit me. I was matched at a YSL counter to shade 2, but shade 2 has VERY strong yellow tones. Although I am Asian, I actually have some pink undertones and neutral shades look best on me. Shade 2 made me look sallow. In fact, the day that I tested it, I was asked if I was feeling OK repeatedly throughout the day. Shade 3, was a better match and seemed to just blend seamlessly with my skin. Sadly, about an hour later, the foundation oxidized a bit and just looked darker.....not orange, but definitely not a flattering color. My shade range is all over the place, but for reference I wear NC/NW15 -20 depending on the formula, shade 4 in GA, 100 Ivoire N in Lancome, and Chanel .5.
If you are fortunate to find a good shade in this foundation, its worth a try if you want a lighter coverage, long wearing foundation that you don't have to work onto your skin quickly. Most of the long wearing foundations that I've used have to be applied quickly or you end up streaky. This one, can be blended even after it dries and sets.

I like this foundation a lot and use it pretty regularly. Application is pretty foolproof - it is really hard to make this look like anything other than bare skin (assuming you have the right shade).
On shades though - I wear Opal, which is a very pinky, fair (although not absolutely fairest) shade. It is a reasonable match for me, although perhaps just a teeny bit too fair and too pink. Because of the shade issue, I tend to use this almost as a primer - I put on a layer of YSL, then brush a very small amount of Armani Luminous Silk in shade 5 over the top, mainly on nose/chin/cheeks (as if it were a highlighter really). That gives me a really good, natural shade and finish. Luminous Silk isn't very long lasting, so with this technique I get the right shade and the right staying power.
The thing I really like about this is that it doesn't feel (or look) "makeuppy" on my skin. It really is very light, and doesn't rob off on stuff. I use Lancome Teint Miracle a lot, and I know that is meant to look like bare skin, but I feel a lot more made up in that.
I'm with the other reviewer who says this is definitely light coverage though - at least it is on me. Covers up light acne scars but not more recent ones - I need a dot or two of concealer for that. So I tend to use the YSL only when my skin is looking reasonable or at times when I have a lot of spare time to mess around getting my concealer perfect.

This would be my HG foundation if it wasn't for the fact that it contains parabens and sulfates. If you don't care about these then this is a GREAT foundation. It's so good though that I keep returning to it. I love it. If only it wasn't so expensive! YSL's prices have been changing a fair bit over the last year in Aus, but i think it cost $78 at the moment :( I've been using it for over a year now. Coverage wise I'd say it's light to medium, it's definitely buildable and looks very natural. It's amazing at minimizing pores and really stays on all day even with my oily-combination skin, no powder needed! I use #5 in summer and #4 in winter. I sometimes use Clarins beauty balm under this as a primer and they work great together! The packaging is beautiful and hygenic, I just wish it was possible to control the amount of foundation you get a bit easier from the pump.

Omg I think I found my hg foundation! I have this in shade 9 for the summer. I'm an nw30 in Mac and wanted something a little darker,so I thought I would try this foundation after reading the reviews here. I'll admit it's very pricey, but I don't care. I love the finish of this foundation on my oily skin, I've had it on for 5 hours and I just looked in the mirror and I'm not greasy looking at all. I wore it alone over my moisturizer with no primer and it still looks great. I did dust my face with a light layer of Mac mineralized loose powder in medium dark to set the foundation and then misted my face with fix+.my husband came home and commented on how nice my make up looks today! So I'm sold! The packaging is beautiful with frosted glass and a beautiful gold cap that covers the included pump.so really when u think ofit that way it's not that pricey after all.mac will charge u 36 for the foundation and then an additional 10 for a pump.i paid 55 usd at Nordstrom.will def repurchase.

I love love loveee this product! I have been eyeing it up for some time after hearing good reviews.
I had samples of both 4 and 5, and i liked both but as summer is going to be approaching i chose 5, i think this would make a good summer foundation because i find that it doesnt work so well on dry skin. i have a few patches of dry area on my face but an oily t-zone. when caught in dry areas it doesnt look good, make sure you moisturise if you have dry skin but want to make this foundation work for you.
the price for this was definitely very expensive, however i do think this product is worth the money, it has a nice scent to it but i sometimes dislike scents in cosmetics as i think they are not good for the skin. the coverage is light to medium, its definitely enough to even out skin tone.
the packaging is a frosted glass bottle with a gold cap. the cap has very sharp edges so beware! i love the packaging overalll though.
i paid £31 for 1fl oz.
this foundation is so natural looking on me, i will definitely repurchase but will probably only wear it during the warmer months.
