Took my sweaty, humidity struck face in the summer and made it look fresh. In the winter, doesn't irritate dry skin, but gives a polished look while setting makeup and absorbing sweat, oil. lasts a long time and the packaging gives a sifter for extra choices when applying and a vintage puff that looks really chic and classic.

So far this is my favorite loose powder at the moment because it has a good oil control for me. I have dry combi skin. It stays naturally through out the day, even when the weather is hot, I just have to dab and my face would remain the same. I use this after sunblock but I have to apply this with puff not with powder brush because powder brush gonna make my face looks cakey. People said the packaging suck but I don't know because I'm not bought the full size yet. This powder is doing a better job than Mac select sheer loose powder and Mufe super matte loose powder. I have this in Flesh (NC 20). I hope this powder not gonna make me break out because I'm thinking about buying the full size.
Edit: I think I found my HG loose powder. It blends very well with my mufe hd foundation and doesn't make me look cakey and it really has a good oil control. Love it...

Ok, so this loose powder isn't actually my fave. Just to let you know, I use this with a powder brush, not the puff that comes with it. To be fair, this powder does even out my skin and does last all day. BUT, it sank into my lines :((. It's also not very smooth n caked up on my face. I usually wash my powder brush every 5 days, but using this, I need to wash it in like 2-3 days, it leaves a lot residue on the brush, cakey cakey.. oh ya, the packaging sucks too, I get a cloud of powder everytime I open the box. Bulky and I can't take it with me when I travel.

I'm a sucker for loose powder and tried many products before but i have to say that this is the best! It blends perfectly, with or without foundation or bb cream. I used laura mercier, MAC, clinique and kanebo before but this one beats all. It stays naturally through out the day, even when the weather is hot, I just have to dab and my face would remain the same. Love the product but not the packaging though..really messy and wasting.

Please Nars, sort out the packaging on this powder as it seriously sucks!
Mine only arrived this week as I had road tested this for a day after being made over at Space NK, and I really liked the finish, and colour match (I have this in Beach and am NC/W 20-25 depending on the foundation). In the (messy) tub it looks scarily orange, but it matches my skin tone perfectly (and I am no oompa loompa!).
So anyway, like I said, it arrived and I was so excited to get this - only to open the box and a tonne of powder literally poofed into the air smothering me with this powder. Not a good start. Off to the sink to give it a good clean out and it all looks pretty again (the packaging in a clean state looks lovely and is large, compared to most). But I am almost too scared to open it again, so will have to be armed with towels. I have owned loose powders before but this is mess city. Be warned!

This is one of my favorite powders ever.It is very finely milled so it is not noticible on my skin at all like some other powders.I like the finsh this gives:somewhat matte natural: depending on how much you put on.The shades are pretty nice too.I currently do not wish to get and figure out what shade I have but it matches pretty good. The only thing I don't like is the packaging, it is cute but really messy for me so you have to be very careful

A huge box of gossamer-light face powder; the colour 'Eden' is perfect for my light olive skin. I use this in all sorts of ways, from setting the heavy duty sunscreens we Aussies have to use, to going over a foundation to give flawless evening look.
I have the sifter installed, and dip brush and tap off, then swirl and buff as you do. It never looks old and cakey. In fact I have decided that a polished on powder is probably the most forgiving makeup for an ageing skin, it blurs the craggy bits and gives by far the best base for any blush, highlighter, even eye shadow.

I am obsessed with finding the PERFECT powder. I want a powder to go over my liquid foundation and control my oil while giving me little bit more coverage and looking natural. This loose powder is by far my favorite loose powder out there. I have tried Makeup For Ever, Laura Mercier, Tarte, Smashbox, BM, and drug store brands and nothing compairs to this one! It is like the perfect powder to make your face look flawless and it contains ALOT of product. Usually i read reviews on other products that say there is alot of product in it and i use alot so there never is, but no this one there really is alot of product for the price. the price isn't too crazy and it is definately worth the money!

not HG for me. just an ok powder. oil control is fairly good. has a little bit of coverage and gives your face a natural look(i use a brush, not sure about the puff). color choices are adequate, i have it in Flesh(I'm an NC20), would have prefer something a little yellower though, was afraid that Eden was too yellow for me. Best thing is you get so much more product for the same price compared to other LP of the same amount. one tub can last you at least 6months, or if you use it sparingly, maybe even a year! however, packaging is the worst. it's so hard to keep the powder inside the container!!
overall i think i prefer Becca's LP. going to try T Leclerc next.

By far may favorite loose powder. So very finely milled and luxurious feeling. Packaging is sleek in the appropriate NARS fashion. A vanity's best friend as one powder box will last a very long time. Yes, it's expensive but you're really getting your money's worth for the amount of product that you're putting down for it. I'm on second box of Desert and I use it almost everyday. It's great for a light dust over foundation as a finishing powder or a quick press with the velour sponge over moisturizer and concealer. The latter method will provide a light coverage with an impressive amount of color pigmentation. If I travel with it I just wrap a hair tie around it and tap the lid before opening it. Worth the investment.

Ok I'm a foundation girl I spend all my money looking for the right foundation I love powders and I seriously don't get the hype . I've tried slot of powders to high end to low end . Im love with Macs line of powders but I have such difficult skin I can't wear it or let it touch my face what so ever. I love Nars to their nail polishes to their gorgeous blushes . And I decided to find a new powder since I ran out of my dream matte and wanted something better . Well I did some research and looked at the reviews and decided to give it a try I order online and order it in beach I'm a nc25 but it was a little lighter but once it oxidizes a little it's perfect . I waited everyday waiting waiting so excited for it to arrive the day came and I ripped that box opens Nars was kind and sent me a free sample of their primer with my purchase. I waited the next day to try and I used my fluffy brush from elfs studio line and it looked horrible I was sooooo disappointed it looked so eerie it hide in my fine lines it look eerie cover girls loose powder was a million times better...I went back to the reviews to see if I was the only one who used the method of fluffy brush well it came with a powder puff and it madena HUGE difference ! It's bearable now but now as good as Mac powders look I defiantly would buy something else like Mac if u don't break out like me!

***Firstly, this is product comes in a high amount so it is worth the money. However, you'll have to be careful with transporting this product as it does get messy, MUA beware and take caution whilst transporting this product.***
I have normal - dry skin, but in summer I get on the oily side of normal. I found that in the summer this product has helped keep my make up for hours (the whole time I'm at work) without having to touch up which is a good thing. However, in the winter when my skin becomes a lot more dry the product tends to look cakey, however this should not be a problem if you have combination/oily skin. I purchased this product in the shade "Mountain" and the only problem I have with it is that in the winter of it is too dark. It does not come in many shades as the shade lighter makes me look ghostly (I am a shade NC45 in mac and Nars Cadiz in the sheet glow foundation, for reference). Hope this was useful.

I have in Desert for my NC30/C4 skin and using a puff to press and roll makes all the difference in the world. This powder sets my face for at least 8 hours with no caking and has a soft finish, not powdery at all. I dip the velour puff in, pat against the back of hand, then gently press and roll all over my face. Then I use a big fluffy brush to lightly sweep any remaining powder off. This sets my liquid foundation amazingly and I don't powder my nose until 8 hours later and I have combination skin. Nars Oil-free primer, Sheer Glow foundation, and this loose powder make for my HG makeup for the office. I used to use this with a big fluffy brush to apply, but that was a disaster and didn't set anything! Only when I started using a puff did this stuff do its job. I love and will repurchase. And yes, the loose powder packaging is a mess and impossible to travel with, boo hoo, but it has a permanent place on my vanity.

This is a lovely product (I have it in Snow). It sets beautifully, and the descriptions before mine are very accurate. Interesting fact: I found NYC's loose powder to be of the same quality, in how finely it is milled, how small it makes my pores look, and in color. It is slightly more pink in color (NYC Translucent v. NARS Snow). So I'm swapping mine and keeping NYC's.

I love this powder. I have dry skin, and don't like to wear foundation because it makes me look older and drier. I wear a tinted sunscreen so I can have a dewy look. But the middle of my face often looks either too shiny or ruddy or unpolished.
Most powders make me look too dry, too matte, or too made up, but NARS is perfect. I have fair skin and use Flesh. I got rid of the puff and use a makeup sponge to press it into my T-zone, then sweep a clean brush over my skin just in case there's excess. Then with a little brush I might dab some onto imperfections that I want to hide.
The powder is so finely milled that it really blends into skin yet makes it look more polished without looking heavy.
A lot of people complained about the packaging, but it's pretty much the same packaging as most loose powders I've tried. The fact that they are loose makes them messy, but then you get the extra fine results. I give the box one shake to get some powder into the top, then the mesh helps me to get rid of the excess.

The packaging is horrible. When i received it in the mail the product was all over the box and beyond. But aside that, its ok. Very finely milled. For shade reference: NC45 is a bit too dark for me in MAC and NC43 a tad light. SO i'm guessing i'd probably b NC44.
I got the shade in Mountain for this product and its a tad dark for me. It masks the yellow in my skintone and makes it orange/reddish. It'd work for you if you're on the darker side of NC45 and beyond, or do as i do and apply it to the outer portions of my face to give it a glow and to darken up the decolletage to match your face. OR if your foundation is super light (like 2 shades lighter) and you want to darken it up, then this would work. It'd make it a bit more orangey/reddish. Not bright orange, but a medium orange, if that makes sense. Doesnt work as a bronzer even though its slightly darker than my skintone. It isnt THAT pigmented in that sense. But it'd work as a foundation as i said if you are NC45 and beyond and if you just need a little coverage. It does not claim to control oil, and nor will it do so.
Its expensive but you get a LOT of product for the amount you pay. So verdict: If you are NC44, maybe even the lighter side of NC45 and up, don't get this if you want to set your entire face. Seriously. It'd turn it darker, and orangier/redder. But it IS a good product if it matches your skintone.

This powder looked okey on my skin but after an hour under the sun while shopping, it disappeared from my skin and all I can see was a shiny face. Mac prep and prime performs better.

I have yet to find a foundation light enough for me. Ever. When i saw the reviews for this, and girls saying "Snow" is amazing for the whitest of white girls, i thought, well its worth a try.
What i love:
This does not look chalky on your face
Finally a color light enough for me!
It is a fine milled powder
The only thing i dont love, the coverage. Maybe i need to try the pressed powder in this shade? I have used physicans formula's loose powder which had more coverage than the nars. Oh well, at least it actually matchs, that made me happy enough!

Awesome powder, incredibly fine but can be incredibly messy. The inclusion of a mesh sifter AND a plastic one was genius on NARS's part, but the lift-off top on the container is not useful at all and just gets powder everywhere when you close it. Please NARS, redesign the packaging on this! It's expensive at $32 but you get A LOT and I imagine that even with daily usage it'll last 2+ years. As for the powder itself, it melts into the skin and help keeps oiliness at bay, even better when used together with the NARS oil-free primer and Sheer Matte foundation. I wear Tahoe in the Sheer Matte and Mountain in the powder, and Mountain pulls slightly red but not enough to notice unless you're really looking. Beach is WAY too light.

This is one of the NARS products really worth investing in. Even though it may seem expensive it contains a massive 45 grams of an excellent quality loose powder... it's THREE TIMES MORE PRODUCT than most brands! Do your maths, seriously.
The packaging isn't very functional... but then find me a loose powder that doesn't make mess... The luxe looking black rubbery NARS gets dirty easily as it is. Not for traveling but if you need loose powder on the go (do you really?) just put a bit in a small container from Muji. Problem solved.
I apply it with NARS #27 Yachiyo Kabuki Artisan Brush (OMG this brush, OMG!!! If you don't have it yet you better buy it and you'll know why people go on about it so much. It's the best brush ever) and it sets my MAC foundation perfectly. I applied it with puff it comes with over foundation once and I looked terrible. This powder has great coverage so it looked caked. With brush it looks perfect- smooth, even, matte but you can not see it. It does not accentuate pores or lines. Perfection.
I don't need to re-apply it throughout the day. It stays on very well, I just use blotting papers on my t-zone when I get too shiny.
The puff is great for the days you don't feel like using foundation. Just put on a bit of this fabulous powder and your skin will look great.
I'm not very impressed with the colour range though. There are only 6 shades and nothing for dark skin tones. I'm a NW20 so it wasn't really a problem. MUA advised me to try Eden but that really stood out against my skin, it was very pale and too yellow. Beach was better but still to yellow. I really needed to buy powder and was in a rush so I tried Desert, which in pressed form is totally not my shade surprisingly in loose form is a different colour- lighter and with more yellow tone. It blends perfectly into my skin.
I give it 4 lippies not 5 due to poor colour range (at least half of my friends won't be able to use it!) and the messy packaging. I will certainly buy this again but not for a long, long time. I use it every single day but considering my last 15g loose powder lasted me 9 months and this is 45g... like I said, do your maths.
