This product is fantastic! I was breaking out like crazy with both whiteheads and deep, painful cystic bumps caused by stress from work. My skin was also extremely clogged and just generally gross. I used this product after my usual cleansing and moisturizer and it worked like a charm! It was a little harsh at first and did dry out my skin a bit but I stayed diligent with moisturizing and sun protection while slowly increasing my application frequency over a couple weeks. Within the two weeks, I'm happy to report my acne has almost entirely cleared up and my skin is looking better than it has in ages! Now I use it in my trouble spots (cheeks and jawline) in the morning and evening and it does a great job of keeping new pimples from popping up. I love that it was not too harsh on the skin like most BP creams, which leads to dry, dull skin.


For best results, use sparingly and slowly build up dosage to avoid irritation. Apply before moisturizer and allow to sink in. Avoid your delicate eye area and wear a great sunscreen! Good luck ladies!

My holy grail product! I can't live without this anymore. It helped my stubborn acne so much I barely get breakouts anymore. I use this after I cleanse, tone and moisturize my face every night/day (at least I try to!) I don't know how my acne would have gotten if I didn't discover this amazing product. This is the only product I own of PC but I will definitely buy the toner and cleanser once I'm running low on my current items. It will guarantee to work on anybody and I believe it since I was so skeptical about this product. I honestly didn't believe it was going to work but it did and I love it! My only problem would be the price, it's quite expensive for one I can't imagine how much the whole range would cost.

HG! This is the best BP product I have ever used! I have tried many and all of them caused my face to turn bright red, peel, itch, BURN and become painfully dry. I nervously purchased this hoping it would help clear my horribly stubborn mild acne. Well, it has! I can use this on my skin every single night without irritation. YOU will experience some dryness when you first use this, but your skin should adjust. I apply this very VERY lightly over my skin, give it a few minutes to absorb, then put on a tiny bit of moisturizer over it. I only use it at night because for my sensitive skin, that is enough. It has cleared my skin and keeps it clear without irritation.

I had been using Clinique's Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer for the past few years and it was great, except I was still getting some persistent zits, on and off depending on the weather and stress. It wasn't enough to bother me, until I noticed that they started getting worse recently. This is stronger than the Clinique, which has only .5% benzoyl peroxide. Though I was worried about irritation, this actually didn't inflame my skin. I bought this and the Salicyllic Acid Toner from Paula's Choice. It's just been a few days, but the combination of the two products have wiped out the whiteheads and pimples from my face. I'll definitely be repurchasing.

A while ago, I looked up Paula's suggestions for treating acne, and she touts benzoyl peroxide as the "gold standard" for zits - but as I got into my later 30's, it was much too irritating for my face. I started off by used the Neutrogena spot treatment benzoyl peroxide - it left red marks. Then I saw a dermatologist that gave me clindamycin and benzoyl peroxide together - and someone at brunch the morning after I used this asked me 'what's wrong with your face'? It left entire swatches of my skin looking like it was sunburned (though clindamycin alone isn't bad for those who can get to a doctor for a script and are having reactions to bp - I don't have insurance anymore to get a refill). After that, I used that fancy pink stuff from Mario Bandescu which isn't bad but isn't that great. Recently, I noticed that my Mom had some of Paula's 2% benzoyl peroxide solution sitting around so I used it and I have to say, for some reason, it doesn't irritate as much as other benzoyl solutions and it works better than the Mario Bandescu pink stuff. I don't know what she puts in this to make it less irritating, but it does work for me. If you've had similar difficulties with other products bp, maybe this will work for you. I have the old packing so it's fine - but I can see how a tube would be annoying.

Seriously, you will NOT be disappointed!
My cousin recommended Paula's Choice to my mom and me, so she got the eye cream, and the before bed eye cream set. I got this and a toner. I noticed that within a couple days my face was clearer. I'm only in grade.9 , but I had worse acne in grade 7-8! People are always complimenting on my skin, and its probably at the best its ever been (before puberty...)
Anways the price is great for what the product is worth, packaging is good, but I sometimes squeeze out to much!
The product isn't heavy, so it doesn't feel like somethings on your face which I find happens with products like Proactiv.
I will keep buying this, as long as I keep getting acne!
This product works really well with the Spectro Acne Fighter cleanser :)

Okay so I thought that I should quickly add this in, so this part is edited in! I just wanted to say, that if you plan on using other acne fighting products at the same time wait a while.. because I applied my toner, and moisturiser and right after I applied this product around my nose area started to feel like it was on fire. I thought I just had a sensitive nose, but after looking at the back of the bottle it does advice you to not mix acne products :) anyways enjoy the product!

This is the exact same product as the original Blemish Fighting Solution, only with a new name, different packaging, and marketed as part of the CLEAR acne-fighting line. Way back when, BFS was sold in a bottle with a flip top cap which worked much better with the watery formula. Packaging this in a tube means a lot runs out, so I store it in my medicine cabinet upside-down to alleviate that. As for use, I will apply this all over my face after cleansing and toning (but before moisturizing) about once a week as a preventative measure, and always at night. I will also use this as a spot treatment at the first inkling of a breakout, but no more than 3 nights in a row. Using it more than that results in dry, flaky skin. This in conjunction with the 2% BHA gel (which recently has received it's own name-change and face-lift) keeps my skin pretty clear and happy. Now that Paula's Choice constantly offers monthly sales, I stock up accordingly. HG status.

The only complaint I have is the tube package- it lets some product just drip out a little fast. With that being said this is a great product for those suffering from break outs.

BE WARNED though- this stuff is STRONG and not a joke. The first few times I used it I did experience some stinging/burning. It did go away within a few days of use and my breakouts became less frequent and less severe.

After 3 months battling acne with this miracle worker, my skin skin is free from acne. Trust me. For those friends out there who suffer with acne, use this every night. Depend on your acne severity, you may choose between the two strength available. My acne problem was mild to moderate case. So I used this 2.5 percent strength. My skincare consists the Skin Balancing Cleanser (will clean and dissolve all types of makeup), Skin Balancing Toner (will balance your skin after washing face and give some moisture to your skin), 2% BHA lotion (gently exfoliate and give moisture to your skin), 2.5% Benzoyl Peroxide (to kill the bacteria that cause acne and minimize the problem), Skin Balancing Antioxidant Serum with Retinol and Skin Balancing Sunscreen SPF15.

I use the 5% Clear Extra Strength Treatment. I am a newbie to PC, only started using her product about 3 months ago, but I have become a huge fan. I use her 2% bha liquid every day, and combined with this, my skin has been in the best shape it's been for years. I am normally oily, clog prone, and suffer from ocassional pimple or hormonal breakouts. The 2% bha liquid and this have helped smooth my 'orange peel' skin, and have really helped preventing my pores from clogging. The overall texture of my skin has improved dramatically. I use a very thin layer of this BP every night, and it does not irritate or dry out my skin. Even though I still wear foundation, I find myself wearing less of it. On the weekends, if I'm lazy, I even brave without it. before using PC, I would never leave the house without foundation on. but now, I can go barefaced and comfortable with it. I will continue using PC's products, and I'm interested in trying her cleansers and moisturizers next. Many people feel that her products can be expensive, but her website always offer discounts and sales, and I usually stock up when it does. I got this product when it was 50% off, so for about $11, and it comes in a very big tube. I only use a thin layer every night, so this will last me for many months.

LOVE LOVE LOVE!! I was using this only when I got an occasional pimple. But recently I started using it twice a week all over my face followed by serum or moisturizer. Now I never even get a pimple and its taking care of blackheads and whiteheads too!! It doesnt dry me out but I wouldnt use it everyday, just my opinion. Awesome product!! Will repurchase.

I have used both the 5% and 2.5% benzoyl peroxide treatments. Both cause my skin to dry out and get red and irritated, almost scaly, if I use it all over my face as directed. I tried using as a spot treatment, but neither seems to have any effect on my acne.

I am reviewing the Paula's Choice Clear Acne Fighting treatment of 5% Benzoyl version. It is mild, less irritate comparing than lot of other acne treatment I had used such as OXY or ZAPZYT. I only works with my acne but not works on hormonal type of acne. I do not love this product too much because I found Benzoyl is not very effective for me.

My face gets super dry when I initially put this product on. Over prolonged use on an area, the skin there seems to get used to it and stops getting super dry. But it works!

The price is quite decent and Paula's Choice has sales and shipping promos all the time. The package is horrible for the product. The product is fairly runny so the squeeze tube makes a mess. I think a pump package would have been best.

I like this product and will continue to use it until I don't get zits anymore. It really does work and doesn't dry out your skin. I have combination skin. I would recommend using this product before using any 10% BP product. Definitely does the job without drying your skin out.

I am actually amazed by this product. I have been having such stubborn clogged pores lately (adult acne now I believe.. when is it over!?) and this has really been my saving grace. I was hesitant to use a BP product because I generally have a sensitivity to them. I get all red and peeling.. almost like it burns my skin. I started out with this very sparingly and have since built it up to where I can dollop a good amount on a breakout area with no problems. I have only had a bit of dry flaky's from this product but it doesn't irritate my skin at all. I still will not use this all over my face though because I am not a huge fan of BP and it's effects on the skin. I do however think this product is worth giving a try.

This product (along with the Paula's Choice, 2% Salicylic Acid Gel), has made my skin look better than it has in years! I am so breakout prone it's not even funny...I could rest my hand on my chin and breakout the next day. I was always worried about any thing that would even touch my face. I use this at night all over my face (about a dime size amount) after the Gel. In the morning, I use it mostly as a spot treatment on areas that I normally break out...like my chin, around my nose, etc. I have very few breakouts now, I haven't had to pop a pimple in forever! (And that is rare for me). My skin is so balanced now that if I sleep in my makeup one night, or rest my hands on my chin, it's not a big deal, I don't break out as long as I keep to the regimine most of the time. I'm so thankful this works.

WONDERFUL! Packed with antioxidants to help combat the drying of benzoyl peroxide. Slightly too liquidy, but not terrible. Large tube, also. REALLY GREAT PRODUCT!

I use this lotion daily, together with Paula's 1% BHA lotion, to keep my skin clear. I haven't had any problems with break-outs in the years since I've been using these two products, which is a miracle.

This lotion (treatment) is so wonderful! I don't feel tight and redness at all after applied it to my entire face. My acne dried up overnight and continued to drying up and red around acne faded. Very happy with result!
UPDATE: Very disappointing! Acne and drying, itchy and redness. Had to stop using and trying other products being ordered.....
