Found this for about $5 at Bed Bath and Beyond, couldn't find in store anywhere else! Works as well as my Urban Decay clear lip liner in Ozone. Will repurchase!

I bought this at Shoppers Drug Mart on sale for $4.99 in the colour nude. I didn't have a liner that I could wear with all lipsticks or just a really nice nude to wear on its own so I decided to try this one and I love it so, so much. I have worn this lip liner once on its own and quite a few times with lipstick now and it seriously lasts all day- you will not need to reapply regardless of eating and drinking. The colour is a deeper nude which I like since I am pale and really pale nudes tend to wash me out. I have incredibly pigmented lips and this helps to tone then down a lot. I really enjoy how while this lipliner isn't moisturizing (none are), it doesn't dry my lips out either and if I put a chapstick on underneath my lips feel incredibly moisturized. This is a great lipstick and I highly recommend it!

Thank you to all the MUAers who reviewed this little gem! I found it at my local Walgreens and used it today. It is indeed very effective for preventing lipstick bleeding, and also for applying before a colored lipliner to keep it in place. In fact, it works as well as my Chantecaille Lip Contour Fill--for $23 less. This will be a staple in my makeup kit from now on!

I got this lip liner in a different color and purchased it at a local counter, it is retailed at almost 20 dollars here in Switzerland, what a rip-off. But it's really a good lipliner, very easy to apply and good color selection. I think i will repurchase it but I might go for somewhere else. Americans should never complain about the products price because they can always get thing at priviledged prices:)

Lip liners in general are usually one of the last makeup items I even think about purchasing. I've just never really had the use for lip liners and when I would try to use one, I'd always get the color wrong. Nude ones made my lips look dead, I could never figure out what shade of red to get, pink ones would either be too light or too bright...I just really sucked at the lip liner game.
I had a Maybelline lip product coupon that was about to expire, so I was standing there trying to pick out a lipstick and of course there were about 1000 to choose from. I started looking at lip liners and noticed there was a clear version--and I swear it was a "lightbulb over the head" moment. Why on earth had I never thought to try a clear lip liner? (Answer: Because I didn't realize they existed, lol).
So I bought it. And it was love at first use. I like that I can use it under anything--lipsticks, stains, glosses, even tinted lip balm. I don't have to worry about getting the color right, it prevents bleeding (a problem with some of my darker lipglosses), and it extends the wear. It's not drying, and it's not moisturizing either--it simply provides a nice base for lip products to stick to.
I have discovered a HG lip product for me. I like the Maybelline one...with the coupon it was a little over 3 bucks, so that's not too bad. I do notice that it requires sharpening quite often, which could be kind of a hassle for on-the-go (yep, I like it that much that I'm getting one for its own spot in my purse), but I think it's worth it if I never have to fret over what color of lip liner I need to buy again.

I love this lipliner. I have to say I typically detest Maybelline products. When I first read about this lipliner, I was skeptical. Recently I've been experimenting with red lipstick. For example, I have been wearing Boots No7 Stay Perfect in Cherry, lined with Rimmel Red Diva, after seeing Lisa Eldridge use these two products in a recent video. I love the look (see pics in my profile), but I've had problems with the products migrating outside my lip lines, smudging, and so on. Typically when I apply red liner and/or red lipstick, I accidentally go outside the lines of my lips or smudge it or something else atrocious that takes twice as long to fix. I have none of these problems when I use this Clear liner first. The lipliner in Clear applies smoothly and doesn't tug or feel dry (conversely, it doesn't feel moisturizing either). It doesn't change the color of my lips, and it actually seems to make l/s application easier. I guess the best way to think of it is like a clear foundation for your other lip products--it gives a "grip" to your lips so that the other products go on smoothly. No more accidentally coloring outside the lines or smudging! It also seems to help my lip products last much longer. I wore my red look for over 4 hours yesterday with minimal wear, and today I wore the Clear liner with Bobbi Brown l/s in Pink for several hours as well. I love this lipliner and would gladly purchase again and again!!

I was skeptical of a clear lip liner, it sounds like a joke. But when I could't find anything close to the lipstick color I had just purchased, I decided to give it a try. It does a great job of preventing feathering, and does seem to make the color last longer in general. I'd just worn the same color lipstick the day before, so I had a solid comparison. At $7 after taxes, I'd definitely buy again, especially since it will go with EVERY lip color! Glad I gave this a try!

I just barely got into l/s lately and have been loving bright, Spring colors. This lipliner really helps the color stay where I want it to and make my lips look my defined. The clear color is extremely versatile as it could be used with any lipstick :) I think the one I bought is slightly odd, it has a smell if I put it up to my nose. But still, I love it.

this is a great product that is overly priced! i go around my lip line once and then apply and/or liner/gloss/lipstick. whichever i chose, it stays within the line i draw and stays put. very surprised. this was my first clear lip liner. the price is ridiculous at around $8-9CND. id def look for something cheaper. at the same time, id recommend this and buy again

I decided to try a clear lip liner awhile ago and I purchased a L'oreal lip liner. Every time I wore the liner, it was so dry. I like to wear clear liner with my lip gloss, so I decided to try Maybelline. Love this liner ~ I wish I didn't have to sharpen the pencil that is my only compliant. It has a great consistency, it's so smooth and it works great. This is my new go-to clear liner and the price is right too. Thank you Maybelline...

I used to use Cargo's Reverse lip liner. Even though I liked this better than traditional colored liner, I prefer the Maybelline even more. It is actually clear, where the Cargo has a nudish color to it, and it keeps my lip color from running better. It can be a little hard to find for me but worth it.

I have a love hate relationship with this product. I actually use this product to line my outer lip line then I use another lip liner to make my lipstick last longer. I can't seem to find a good drugstore brand that prevents feathering like this does, and I also feel like the price is too high for how fast I go through it. I have to sharpen it all the time. This will only last me about a month and then I have to repurchase.
Overall three lippies. Does what it says but is used up too fast. Price is too high for how fast I use it. Packaging quality is pretty common, I just don't like when a product is encased in plastic shrink wrap. I will repurchase again but only until I find something better.

I typically hate lipliner, but consider it an essential when wearing lipstick to avoid feathering. This product is brilliant in that it not only prevents feathering, it also helps keep my lipstick looking fresh longer. As someone else mentioned, it does seem you need to sharpen it constantly.

I don't have a problem with lipstick feathering, but I like the idea of layering lip color to make it last longer. This is actually the second l/l I got and it seemed like the perfect idea: Clear...goes with everything, right? But my impressions are "meh". I don't really find this makes my lipstick last longer. I actually find it a little drying and I feel like I'm sharpening it all the time. I think the concept is better than the actual product. This is the only l/l I got from the Color Sensational line, and it made me realize I actually like Rimmel l/l. I love the CS l/g and l/s but this product just didn't work for me.

Wow I can't beleave more people have not found this drugstore gem and have rated it!This is the BEST lipliner!!
In my opinion lipliner is one of those beauty items that you don't need to spend alot of money on.They all are pretty much the same except the price tag and the name of the store that they come from.I love clear lipliner because you don't waste money on buying alot of different lipliners to go with every shade/color of lipstick.I'm also one of those whose lipstick wears off,but is left with some lipliner on(not a good look of course).Finding a clear lipliner at the drugstore is hard because there just isn't alot of them out there.I have tried a couple, but I found them to be too drying or they just didn't stay. This lipliner makes any and all lipgloss/lipstick stay and it goes with everything. At $5.00 it's a steal and I will be buying another for back up.

I need a lipliner as the lipstick just smudges on my pretty easily. I actually line the whole lip before applying the lipstick, and it definitely does the job and help my lipsticks staying a bit longer. I was on the hunt for a clear lip liner for a while. I heard some very good thing about Revlon clear lipliner, but I can't find it anywhere. To be honest, I don't know why Revlon discontinued that color. Why would someone want to go through the trouble of matching lipsticks with lip liner? Sometimes, I just don't know how those makeup company decides to discontinue something that everyone loves. Anyway, back to this lip liner. The best thing about it is that it's CLEAR. I can use it with any lipsticks.

WOW !!! why would you buy a bunch of lip liners (that probably don't even perfectly match your lipstick/gloss) when you can buy one in clear that works with everything !!! i had heard about the revlon color stay clear liner and had always looked for that but my target, walmart and CVS didn't have it so i decided to look for other brands and i found this one from maybelline ! NO CONS with this product. oh and by the way this is a pencil, not one of those mechanical type liners. like i said you're going to save money because you just have one liner and it glides sooooo smoothly ! it cost me $5.50 at walmart ! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED !!

This came along with the Color Sensational lipgloss that I bought. It does what it's supposed to do! :) Keeps my lipstick & gloss from feathering, which is a constant nightmarish problem for me. Quite a handy little stick as it's clear and works with every lipstick and gloss you own. This pencil sharpens very nicely, too, I haven't had any issues with product loss.
