Beautiful packaging, and the shadows are top quality, but unfortunately the palette just doesn't work as a whole. You really need to use separate crease and highlight colours. If you try to combine even two of the shades from this palette, it just ends up a muddy mess.

I love the intricate designs of Guerlain's eyeshadow quads, and Tsarina is no exception. This was an autumn 2009 Limited Edition, inspired by the rich, colourful dresses worn by Russian princesses. The colours in this quad are faded orange, brick red, old rose and aubergine, just perfect for autumn, and quite unusual to boot. The shadows are easy to apply and have good staying power, although a light touch is always a good idea to prevent the colours looking too heavy. I don't think you could create a look just by using the colours in this palette alone, you need to mix-and-match with whatever's to hand to avoid looking OTT. Although I'm blonde, I personally think this palette would look stunning on brunettes and those with black hair. Would definitely buy again, in spite of the hefty price.

I bought this palette last week after seeing the review on Temptalia. Love it! This is my first purchase from Guerlain and it is excellent. The colors are beautiful and perfect for fall. They are soft and blendable and highly pigmented.

I so glad I grabbed one up at Murale as this is LE. I have no colors that are similar in my e/s collection and have never tried Guerlain e/s before this. I am extremely impressed! Not only are the colours gorgeous (they remind me of autumn leaves), the texture, finish, blendability and lasting power are all top notch. I pair these shadows with my BB Ivy Shimmer Ink and love the autumn-y look it gives. These are right up there with Dior shadows and could possibly surpass them since Dior's e/s tend to fade a teensy teensy bit. I always use TFSI on my oily lids. There is no creasing. The only complaints I have about this product is the packaging, don't know if mine was weird but there's a little dent on the top. Other than that, it's a beautiful compact with a pretty overspray of a Russian folk art motif. I would definitely buy again if it wasn't LE. Grab one while you can! These colours are quite uncommon.

This pallete is the one pallete I would buy, if I could only buy one cosmetic item this year. I love it that much. I am tempted to buy a backup but I know that I have so many other cosmetics that get attention just because they have been purchased, whether they deserve it or not. The last time I felt this way about a pallete was the MAC Cult of Cherry Quad in Spiced Chocolate. I am just attracted to these kinds of color. This Tsarina pallete is finely packaged, the quality of the shadows are bang on. The only thing I might change about this pallete would be to add a slightly lighter highlight color, but all the colors are wonderful. Please let my husband let me get another one. I could wear this everday with my blue/grey eyes.
