LOVE this palette! I'm really into Nars single shadows and I wanted to try a few more, so I decided to go for this palette bc it had a few I really wanted for an awesome value. I have lots of shadows also, so I didn't need the full size singles. The quality of these is excellent: smooth, easy to blend, and no fallout! My fave color is Fez, followed by cordura (I can easily wear these two together). And I love abyssinia and nepal as all over or highlighter shades. I don't wear the purple shades as much, but they are beautiful color mattes for brown eyes. This palette is great for travel and worth the money! I gave this palette 4 stars rather than 5 only bc I don't find myself reaching for it as often as I'd like to- partly bc I have too much shadow and also bc I'm not a fan of Nars packaging- the rubber material gets dirty easily and doesn't feel good in my hands, if that makes any sense to other ppl w sensory issues out there lol. In any case, this product is highly recommended for anyone who already loves NARS shadows or anyone who wants to try out a few for a really great price (considering how much the individuals cost).

Nars almost always throws a couple of neutral shades in his eye shadow palettes (which is a good thing, at least for me). But with the Pleasures of Paris eye shadow palette, he spiced it up a little bit by adding some purple hues and an almost-blackened brown to take the just-having-fun-in-the-park to rocking-at-a-party! For a neutral and purple fanatic like me, this palette is heaven's sent! So yeah, I am so into this! Just look at how gorgeous these shades are!

Nars 6-color palettes rarely have anything that is not beige or brown, the uppper right purples are a pleasant surprise in the palette! Violetta and Demon Lover are both duo eyeshadows and the halves chosen from each to be in this palette work amazingly well together. The pair of dusty purples gives a very gentle and elegant look to the eyes. I love pairing this look with UD Crash eyeliner, a dark purple with silver glitter.

The browns in this palette, Fez and Cordura, are beautiful as well and could be used together for a neutral look.

This palette was just okay. The colors are nothing spectacular. I really don't understand they hype for this product. I swapped this away.

This is the perfect everyday palette and the perfect travel palette. It has everything I would ever reach for! The plum and brown tones bring out my brown eyes and the pigmentation and texture is spot on. I find nepal to be a prettier, less orange version of MAC's all that glitters. I find fez to be a prettier, less intense, and less orange version of MAC's bronze.

Word of discretion: I do find violetta and demon lover lighter in pigmentation but still buttery soft in texture. I use the two for a very natural, matte, light smokey plum look with abbsynnia as a highlight. From a practical standpoint, i don't always want insanely pigmented colors because sometimes I'm just in a hurry for a look that's natural and put together.

For a smokey look I smudge cordura all over my lid and blend out with fez.
For an everyday look that's less natural than my violetta/demon lover combo, I pat nepal all over my lid, put fez into my crease and outer corners, and cake line cordura into my lashline.

Those are only 3 of my favorite ways to wear this palette. If you're a neutral kinda girl with brown eyes like me, then trust me, and get this palette.

I bought this from the Nars website and was very excited to get it. The shadows are beautiful in the pan, but I was not so impressed once I began to use them. They are just 'meh.' I decided to make a little money by selling this in a blog sale, and I honestly don't miss it. Sorry, just not a winner for me.

If you are thinking whether or not you should get this... run and buy it! I had been waiting for ages for the NARS UK site to get it back in stock, and last month it came back in. Pleasures of Paris is the first eyeshadow palette I've ever owned where I can use all of the shades. It has both neutral, everyday shades, and dark, dramatic ones. I am pretty sure it would suit both warm and cool-toned people. For reference I'm about a NC40-42, and have a neutral olive/yellow-toned complexion.

Nepal is a beautiful shimmery light warm pink, which shows up like that on my skin (unlike Sin by Urban Decay, which just looks frosty off-white). It really brightens up my face and is a perfect everyday shade. Violetta is a matte light lilac, which for reasons unknown to me shows up on me as a light brown/purple. If I had to call one of the shades in the palette a dud, then I would name it as this one, but even then, it's still pretty usable when you do a look with the next shade, Demon Lover. Demon Lover is a matte dark purple, and looks great in the crease and the outer third of the eye. Purple tones are really very flattering on yellow-toned skin. Then in the bottom row we have Fez, a beautiful shimmery mid-tone warm brown. I wasn't sure how this would look on me, as warm browns look bad on me, but I think the shimmer is what makes this an exception. I never usually wear eyeshadow on the bottom lid, but I do with this shade, as it's not too dark and therefore harsh-looking. You can use this in a subtle look, or pack it on and combine it with the final shade, Cordura (a dark cool brown with slight gold shimmer), can be combined to make a really stunning brown smoky eye. And finally, there's Abyssinia, which is a warm toned, vanilla shimmery shade. On my skin it doesn't show up so golden as it does in the pan, but I can still use it and it still looks good, as it doesn't look like a stark white. It's actually quite rare to find a warm highlighter shade in a palette - most companies use bright white or off white shades (Bobbi Brown, Estee Lauder, Urban Decay Naked palette).

I paid £37 for it and got free shipping too. In my opinion it's worth every penny (though I'm not sure about paying £6.13 in VAT, but that's another story!). The eyeshadows are 1.4g each, just over half the amount of the regular singles, which are 2.2g. I know none of the shades are limited edition, and that you can buy them all as double and singles, but the palette is just so convenient, and all the colours look gorgeous sitting there together. To make sure that it doesn't shatter, whenever I travel with it, I wrap it in bubblewrap, then put it in the cardbox box it came in. I had a NARS Laguna blush which shattered when I was travelling, and I don't want that to happen to this. I wish that this had come back in stock before I bought the Naked palette - I rarely use that, but I use this all the time. I hope NARS never stop making it!

This is my very first ever eye shadow/palette from NARS. I've seen soo much hype around this palette, swatches all amazing, I knew I had to get it. Unfortunately as always, not available in Australia, and only available online in US which makes in seemingly impossible to get, but I did it and I finally got!
Firstly amazing quality just as I expected from NARS. I did find this palette might be more fragile then it looks, I swear I thought the Cordura colour would crack on me any day soon. I have worn this palette for day and night, and I realise the 2 darker colour (Demon Lover, Cordura) were not so much daytime friendly. They were however gorgeous for night time, or heavy smokey eyes.
This is such a gorgeous palette I would always repurchase if I got a chance. It was $55USD online, but for me including shipping to Australia this came out to be about $70AUD........And no this wasn't an eBay purchase!

This was a gift from a friend here on MUA. She somehow knows what works for me - and we are not even the same skin tone! When she sent this to me, I thought it was pretty, but upon using it a few days it has become my "grab and go" pallet for every day. It's completely wearable for my NC40 skintone and I wear every shade, just mixing and matching as I like. My favorite combinations are Violetta on the outer lid, Fez on the "v" and Nepal on the inner lid with Abyssinia on the duct and brow bone. Demon Lover (hate that name) can also be used in the "v" as well as Cordura for more dimension. Demon Lover is hard to pin down...it's sort of a grayish purple IME but it just gives depth to the eye and not really colour per se, which makes this a neutral for me. The shadows are well pigmented with a little more fallout than I would like, however the pigment makes this work none the less. NOTE: This shadows should be used with a proper primer. This will make a HUGE difference in whether the shadows last all day on me or not. Lesson learned here for me is that you can't always judge a pallet by its' colours! You have to TRY it!

I thought this would be the palette of my dreams. I wanted it for a few months and even "saved" for it. I did not want to purchase it for a while because the shipping from Nordstrom for it is $10 plus tax. I ended paying closer to $70 for it, which I now regret. The colors are muted and somewhat neutral...almost like Sephora OPI Metro Chic if you know what I mean...which I love. The texture and pigmentation, however, are mediocre. I was in denial about it for a while since I paid so much, but I really don't like it that much. The purple shades on the top do not stick to my eyelids with or without primer and they are too soft. The color shows up more on my brush than my eyes. The shadows are swept off easily so it is kind of splotchy when applied. The final look is always nice and not heavy, but this is not worth the price. I am used to MAC eyeshadows and I am disappointed with this. I, however, love that it is convenient and can create nice looks.

I am absolutely in love with this palette. I've been able to create so many different looks with it and use it for both day and night. All six colors are pigmented and blend like a dream. In my opinion, it's one of the best palettes NARS has ever put out. Highly recommended!

I really love this palette all the colours in it are lovely and the textures are great and for £37/$55 you get 6 eyeshadows are 1.5g each which is the same as one single MAC eyeshadows. To me NARS are superior in quality to MAC to 6 eyeshadows better than mac for that price is a great deal in my eyes. The only con, is that you can't pick the shades you want as the palettes are sold pre-made.
I'll do a review of each shade individually and how I think they work together and great combinations I've found!

Nepal - A Champagne with pink undertones, on me it pulls more champagne with a hint of rosy-pink, not too much but enough that it's flattering. it's shimmery and has a beautiful buttery texture which blends beautifully.

Violetta - A grey-Lavender colour which looks amazing on my brown eyes. it's a great shadow to use on a cool smokey eye to blend and it's beautiful all over the lid. It has no shimmer at all and a soft non-chalky matte texture.

Demon Lover - A dark purple colour with no shimmer or sheen, it's really nice to add purple tones to an eye look but not the easiest to blend, this is the only shadow with a slightly chalky texture which is disappointing in comparison to the others but not in the grand scheme of things. it's very cool toned aswell so I could imagine some people disliking this.

Fez - I adore this colour, bronzey-brown-gold, apparently similar to MAC;s mulch but out of all veluxe pearls I've tried the soft pigmented texture of this beats them all. This is amazing in a dark brown smokey or as a crease colour and even a liner.

Abyssinia - The perfect highlight. Soft texture and sheen, this shadow isn't shimmery but it has a sheen, it's a sort of vanilla like colour which I could imagine suiting all skin tones.

Cordura - A dark, sooty brown with gold shimmer. This is the most beautiful eyeshadow even though it doesn't look special in the pan. It's an amazing crease colour with all shadows and and amazing dark smokey eye and a great liner

I love the colours of this palette and I think they work well together some combinations I love I've written down.

Nepal + Fez +Cordura

Abasynia + Violetta + Deamon Lover with Cordura as a liner

Abasynia + Nepal +Fez

Violetta + Cordura

Nepal + Codura

With Abyssinia as a highlight for all!
This palette is one of the best things I've bought and I think it's great value for money and I could see some people loving this palette as much as I do. Just be careful as this has started a NARS Obsession in me!

My rating for this palette is more like a 3.5. I bought this palette based on the positive reviews and the pretty stock photo (hah). Initially I was really disappointed with the shadows in this palette but it grew on me. However, I only see myself using 2 of the 6 shadows regularly so I'm swapping it away.

My favorite shadows are Abyssinia and Cordura. Abyssinia is the perfect highlight e/s and Cordura is an ashy brown with gold shimmer, so pretty worn all over the lid, blended and smoked out. Both are incredibly pigmented and easy to apply.

Violetta and Demon Lover were promising in the pan, but they just don't deliver in terms of pigmentation and color. Both are mattes but they have a superb buttery texture. On the lids Violetta looks like a bruise-colored stain on my lids, more grey than lavender. I wanted Demon Lover to be a pigmented eggplant purple but on the lids it looked blah, like a dark grey. I thought Demon Lover could kill my lemming for MAC Intoxicate but it didn't.

My least favorite shadows in the palette in terms of color are Nepal and Fez. Both are shimmers and incredibly pigmented and buttery, but they don't go with my coloring. Nepal is a pinkish champagne color but due to the pink tones I have to apply very sparingly or else risk looking like I have allergy eyes. Fez is a golden bronze but I really don't like bronze eyeshadows on me, so I would never wear it.

$55 for 6 eyeshadows is a great deal, if you like everything in the palette. Sadly I didn't, so buying only the shadows I like would make more sense in my case .

Not thrilled with this purchase. I'm actually kicking myself for falling into the hype/lemming that the boards were creating for this pallete b/f christmas time last year. The colors are pretty but boring....all except for Demon Lover, but that's the color I would use the least. Nepal is too warm/peachy for my taste, Fez is a really pretty bronze but very basic and extremely dupe-able, Abyssinia is a descent highlight color but too shimmery for a highlighter in my taste, Cordura is a nice deep liner or outer corner color but has too much glitter fall-out, Violetta is too sheer and even on my very light skin makes me look bruised/dirty, and then there's Demon Lover which is a lovely matte deep purple that would work well as a crease or liner color. Over all I will I had saved my money for a Dior or Chanel quad because this has been sitting in my drawer completely unloved since CHRISTMAS day when I received it as a gift.

I should probably swap this away, but I struggle with guilt over getting rid of gifts. =(

i LOVE this. i was lusting for it forever and tried to swap for it many times without success so i saw last week it was still (or back up) on the saks website. after much deliberating i caved and ordered one. it is gorgeous! every single one of the colors is wearable for day or night. i also love neutrals and that is what this palette is. i think it would be fantastic for traveling to just take this and a few brushes and go. the pigmentation in these colors are awesome as well. i was worried because after reading some reviews i heard the e/s didnt last very long but i havent had any problems so far. all in all this is of course dupeable but i love it and i dont think i would repurchase this palette itself because its LE so i dont think i'd have the opportunity but i would probably buy the e/s individually. i love the nars palettes in general because its a great way to try out their colors and yeah its pricey but for what you get its a good deal since a single e/s is about $23 and you get 6 e/s in the palette for $55.
some dupes i have found-
mac bronze mixed with glamour check = fez
urban decay x mixed with something like all that glitters from mac = nepal
shale, shadowy lady, and/or posion pen from mac = demon lover
any white e/s = abyssina (its like a whiter version of phloof by mac since phloof has more pink undertones)

keep in mind those are not exact but the closest i have found so far

Let me start off by saying, I am NOT an eyeshadow expert. In fact, I am the farthest thing from an eyeshadow expert besides a duck. I could probably outdo a duck. So why write a review on something I am clearly not educated about? Simple. Because I LOVE this palette.

Some background information: I am NC25, yellow undertones, brown eyes and dark brown hair - really, your typical Asian. And as a typical Asian, I have the typical Asian hard-to-work-with eyelids - but what's this? I don't have just monolids, or double eyelids. I have a mixture of BOTH. Yeah. Because there's never been a tutorial that specifically addresses my kind of eye shape, I've always shied away from eyeshadow except for simple shades suitable for all over washes.

But then I got this palette for Christmas. And everything changed.

(Imagine that last sentence spoken very dramatically.)

The other reviews have already described the colors very well and how nice the shadows are and whatnot, so I'll just go on and on about how versatile and easy to use this palette is. The two shades on the left - Nepal and Fez - work great for easy all-over washes if I'm in a hurry. The bottom row makes an easy smoky eye, and the top row have me envisioning a romantic date look. And there are many other combinations!

All in all, NARS Pleasures of Paris / Doucers de Paris is probably the ONLY palette I'd ever need to take along with me on vacation (but keep in mind I am an eyeshadow minimalist, 'kay?) I may even purchase a backup of this, that's how much I love it.

I've always shied away from other expensive palettes because there are colors I know I'll never use, but I know I can use every color in this palette, and that's what makes this such a great value. What are you waiting for? GO BUY IT.

I love it! I was lucky to get it before it ran out in Saks and Nars website. The colours are gorgeous and can be worn for both day and night look. Each colour is a full size single eye shadow so price is great considering the price of single eyeshadow and duo eyeshadow. Very happy with it and would've bought again if it was not a LE.
