hate it the brush is so weird it doesn't let enough mascara into your lashes and it clumps up the little that it does put in your lashes I wouldn't buy again

I have short, fine, basically invisible lashes. I prefer layering mascaras rather than hoping that one will do everything for me. I bought this because of the generally positive reviews (plus, it was on sale at the grocery store).

Packaging is sleek and eye-catching and I like the rectangular shape of the tub since it won't roll off the counter. But I strongly dislike how long the wand is. It's like the designers at Maybelline think consumers won't understand it's a lengthening mascara unless they make the wand extra long. It is awkward to use in the corners and you are guaranteed to get mascara smudges while applying it so I advise you to put your mascara on before applying other makeup. If the wand were shorter, I'd give this another lippie.

But besides the length, the wand does a good job of grabbing, combing, and lengthening the lashes. I swear my eyelashes look almost twice as long as normal. The mascara formula is thin and liquid so it doesn't really clump and is a beautifully inky, glossy black. It sort of feels like you're painting your lashes with liquid liner. Formula does not dry immediately, so be careful.

I layer Maybelline's excellent Lash Sensational (which I've also reviewed) over Lash Stiletto and get lashes that are twice as thick, long, and dark. I love the effect. The formulas play well together and respond well to my heated lash curler (which I use to set the curl). Lash Stiletto hardens rather than melting into mush. It also has great staying power and does not smudge or flake on me, even on hot and humid days. Great at holding a curl.

I've had this for about 4 weeks and the formula hasn't thickened up in the way that Maybelline mascaras tend to, which is fantastic. I hate clumpy mascara.

Overall, I'm very happy with this mascara and would repurchase.

Not for me. Kept my curl but smudged horribly. Back to the drawing board!

Phenomenal length and separation. Manages to look a bit dramatic with no clumping whatsoever or gunky appearance like volumizing mascaras can have. The formula is pretty dry and the glossy finish isn't really noticeable but probably contributes to the dry feeling, so it does seem a little crunchy. I personally don't mind as it's pretty much par for the course for waterproof mascaras. I get some very, very slight smearing (unnoticeable to others) on my undereye area if I've been crying. No smudging whatsoever if/when I sweat, which is HUGE because I have hyperhydrosis on my face. I love, love, love length and this delivers. I've already repurchased and will continue to do so.

This gives me pretty decent length and volume but it is definitely NOT WP! It smudges AND flakes, which is pretty horrible. I wouldn't pick this up again.

I had high hopes for this product.

To quote: 'It promises long-lasting mascara delivers longer, thicker, extended lashes with luminous shine...,í and Maybelline mascaras have never let me down...until I tried this one.

This clumped my lashes like crazy and weighed them down. My lashes are fairly thick and long, so you can only imagine how horrible this one was for me. Itís a shame, really. Iíve probably used it for more than 10 times already, hoping that itíll just get better once I got used to it. BUT NO. Iím probably better off with The Rocket and The Falsies (the BEST!!!)

Glad it worked for the others though!  It just didnít work for me 

PROS: Gives very good length. Gives quite lovely full and kind of fluttery (for a waterproof) lashes. Very black. Very.

CONS: This smudges so easy on me. Maybe someone could cover it with something like Clarins Double Fix to make it last, but I don't even think that would help, since it smeared so bad.

ALTERNATES: L'Oreal's new Manga mascara IS better for volume and length that don't smudge/flake easily. The Rocket stays on without smudging the longest of the two, but the Manga has a TON of volume in one or two coats. I also really like Miliani's Runway Lashes for feathery, soft volume. But it needs to have multiple coats (and just cover it with Clarins Double Fix to make it "more" waterproofed.)

Very similar to Lancome Definicil in performance for duh cheap. I got volume and length and it wore well. Nice glossy black color. Was looking for something that performed for cheaper and this exceeded my expectations. Kicking myself for buying expensive mascara.

This is a great, simple mascara for everyday.

Mascaras smudge and/or flake on me without fail. ALL OF THEM.

But Lash Stiletto for some reason doesn't! It has very minimal to no smudging which is incredible for me.

This mascara is nice and black. It separated my think, long eyelashes well, and it gives light to medium volume- which is exactly what I like.

Mascara, just like makeup in general, is completely personal preference.

But if you want clean, separated, lengthened, very shiny black, and slightly voluminous eyelashes, you might want to try Maybelline Lash Stiletto! :)

(btw the packaging is beautiful; I really like it!)

Now it's October 10th so about a month and a half and I want to update everyone on this mascara!

So far... I have to say since it started off as a pretty dry mascara (which I love) it's been a little bit too dry... but that's too be expected with drier mascaras.

It's still usable and it still does not smudge for flake off, so I have to give it credit for staying true to its claims even over time.

I still love this mascara, and I'll keep using it as long as I can brush through my eyelashes after application with a clean wand to even everything out!

Just please keep in mind that because this mascara is already dry in the beginning, it will seen to dry faster than wet mascaras

When this becomes unusable I'll go out and get a new one!
I'll update this review when it finally goes crumbly and unusable
