This is an excellent daytime moisturizer for combo dry skin types. Ponds calls it a dark spot correcting cream, and while I'm not sure I would go that far, I will say it blurs some imperfections wonderfully and makes me feel gorgeous, and it is so budget friendly around $1.50 for a 1.75 oz trial jar at Target which is a steal.

I just bought this a few days ago, so I can't say how good it is on dark spots yet, but what I can tell you is, just after one use of it..my skin turned from a dull winter face to a radiant one! I was searching for a new light, springtime lotion. I happened to only stumble upon it because my S.O was looking in the "travel-size bins" at Wal*mart for his trip to Arizona. I was shocked at the price, it's small of course, it's the travel-sized one, but a little really goes a long way with this product. The tiny one was only $1.47. When I got home, I washed off all my make-up and put this cream on. It felt absolutely amazing. The smell is a little much, but the smell goes away after a while, and I don't personally mind it. I have very oily/dry patch acne prone skin, but surprisingly this has not made me break-out at all. I seen an immediate improvement in my skin just after one use! I put it on morning and night, and no more dry patches for me! I don't know how good it will be for winter weather though. So far, I can say, that it has "helped" to heal some of my nasty recent hyper-pigmentation acne scars. What I mean by that is that they're still there, but they don't seem as flaming red and are starting to heal more each day. I've never used anything Ponds before, so this is a really great first impression of the products, and I will look more at their product line because I love this cream so much!

I only had to use this once to know it wasn't for me. I used it at night and when I woke up the next morning my skin looked lovely but my t zone had a very angry zit growing. By mid day I had full blown cystic acne around my nose. Also the scent of this is very strong, which is why I used it at night.
Note: The only things that have caused cystic acne on me are certain lotions and face primers.

I'm not pleased with the product. Bought a small jar and used it for a month. I didn't see any significant skin improvement nor did I notice any lightening of my dark spots,it does smell awesome though!!

I bought this product at the same time I bought my Cerave PM lotion, because they both contain niacinamide. I definitely love the Cerave PM and didn't get around to using the Pond's Clarant until last month or so.
I think it's great! I haven't been using it long enough to tell whether it's fading spots. But it's a fine moisturizer, it smells good, and it's a big jar for very little money. I haven't had a problem with it breaking me out, but very little ever does.
I will say that it's not enough moisture for my 43-year-old face in the winter. Or not for daytime, anyway. My skin still looked too dry under makeup - but it will probably be fine in spring and summer.

I've been using this for roughly a year, and it's a decent moisturizer and does seem to help fade dark spots. Definitely doesn't work miracles, but a decent product. It doesn't seem to break me out or clog my pores--as long as I don't use too much product. I have combo skin that can be anywhere from oily to dry to both at the same time. It doesn't make oiliness worse, but it doesn't moisturize enough in the winter. It does provide a decent base for bb creams and foundation. I definitely prefer the dry version to the oily skin version. So far it's the best drugstore moisturizer for me.

I had a lot of dark spots left from acne and over using this for a month, it really helped with that. Note that the spots haven't disappeared completely, but it did a pretty good of fading them. Only complaints I have of this is the packaging and how it made my skin even more oily. It's fine to use as a night moisturizer though. Only other thing that would make it better is if it were a pump or something more sanitary than having to scoop it out, but I guess the you get what you pay for!

My mom gave me this to try in the smaller sample tub which came free with her purchase of a larger Ponds cream. I looked up reviews here on MUA because I didn't know what the cream was meant for and the writing was in Spanish. I was glad to see its meant to help even skin tone-fade spots as I have upper lip melasma that has me resembling my father more and more when I've always favored my mom (he had a stache back in the day).
I tried one other such cream very beloved by many on this site, Nandolina Fade cream which seemed to work overnight then not at all. Plus although such melasma needs time to fade some reviewers mentioned when the cream gets darker its gone bad. I only had mine a few months and had to toss it. I've been using this in its place for two weeks now and like it better but for one thing, the other says it contains sunscreen. I still must wear one with this as sunscreen is essential or melasma will worsen for come back once faded. I don't see startling results but the area does seem lighter and since this is not a greasy formula (the other was), its easier to apply makeup over it for day (I also use sunscreen or at least makeup powder that has a high spf).
It also seems to soften the look of teeny fine lines that seem to come around the time one gets melasma, as if to throw salt in the wound! I have extremely dry skin, and one should note this cream even though it says meant for dry-normal skin, is entirely matte on me. I don't know if that's just me or how it always is. I dont have anything else to fade on my face but have tried it all over my face as I do have redness on my upper cheeks and some mention it has faded their redness/red marks. I have not used consistently enough in that capacity to say whether or not it diminishes redness for me since its simply to drying/matte on its own, but plan to give it another go with perhaps an oil underneath.
It has a scent but it seems to fade, I have highly reactive/sensitive skin and its not bothered mine. I will certainly update as that melasma is something I'm determined to get rid of. I like that this comes in a sample sized jar but with enough product to effectively test the product out, nothing like the sample sized little plastic containers you get at some department stores. This is more than deluxe sized and if this works out for me I will look to buy this size again as others mention its more sanitary that way. I always apply moisturizers after showering/washing my face so my hands are clean but since my last fade cream went bad so quickly I am glad I have an option to get a smaller size which others mention is at Target. I said I'd repurchase but as stated will change if people started calling me "sir," despite continued usage.

I love this product! It leave my skin feeling soft, but not greasy. Over time, dark spots are diminished. Plus, it smells great. I like to use the Normal to Dry because it's creamy and moisturizes better than the Normal to Oily. I usually get the sample sizes (1.75 oz) from Target. It's hard to find the regular size (7 oz) at a storefront, although I have purchased it at Walgreens.

I LOVE the blue regular ponds moisturizer, and i have a couple dark spots on my face so this sounded perfect. i was so so so SOO wrong. Doesnt do anyhting to my dark spots, got a 2 huge and PAINFUL cysts on my chin after using this for about 3 days in a row, caused extreme burning and itching when applied, and it doesnt have the mostiurizing power that the regular one does. I got the sample size at target so its no big deal though..just want to warn everyone.

I got a trial size from target to try it at first ($1 for 1.5oz) and i really liked it. I have severly acne prone skin..so severe that none of the moisturizers ,except Cerave lotion suits my skin and i get acne every time i try a new lotion..After i end up with acne i get back to Cerave lotion..because thats what simply moisturizes and doesnt cause any breakouts. But after using the Cerave lotion almost for about an year..my skin turned ashy..thats right..greyish toned..So i got this one after reading reviews/posts pointing out the benefits of Niacinamide...and to my luck i found a trial size for dollar..its no waste in trying right! After trying it..i really liked it..and then went and bought the bigger one. It helped my dark spots to lighten a bit..and my complexion didnt get any lighter but my face looks radiant. thats what i wanted moreover. Now whenever i go to walmart or target, i couldnt find them, so i just order from drugstore.com(they have free shipping for $25) and im happy with it. If its a harsh winter..i can feel a slight dryness on my skin..then i use witch hazel toner prior and im sooo good to go. This is my HG moisturizer.. :)

This is hands down my favorite moisturizer of all time. It works for me all year round; except that I modify the amount of product applied depending on how my skin feels. From usage the number of sun spots I've gotten has dramatically decreased. I no longer get any! (in conjunction with SPF too) I use this morning just before foundation and at night after all my skin treatments. It helps keep my skin supple, soft and clean. Very simple moisturizer but well worth trying it out!
My only problem with this product would be the container. I LOATHE jars. To help prevent contamination, I always use a clean scoop or qtip and take product from the lid, instead of digging into the jar. I also prefer to use the smaller jars (I buy mine at Target for around a dollar) so that I am constantly opening fresh jars instead of using the same jar every six months or so. The tiny size lasts about 2-3 months.

This is a great product which I find really helps with my melasma. I also like its moisturizing properties. I use it as a night cream.
Not many products have a powerful active ingredient as the second item on their list of ingredients! I discovered niacinimide while using NIA 24, which is also a great product for melasma, however it is like 85$ a tube. So, getting a comparable result for 11$ is great in my book. I really like the smell, which others have commented on, it is a lotion/creamy smell. Granted i adore creamy smells. The consistency is very rich and lubricating, I like to massage it on my face. Personally I like mineral oil based creams and avoid creams with alot of silicones in them (not easy to do since they are in everything now). Definitely recommend this cream for people with melasma.

I use both this and the Rejuveness version, that I purchased at Target, in the travel sizes for $2 each. You get a decent amount with these too. I just wish the full sized versions were cheaper.
This one has evened out my skins tone and texture and helps clear up those dark purple spots left by acne.
EDIT
This products may be unhealthy.

Faded ALL of my dark spots in 1 week!!! I love this and can't believe something so cheap could work wonders. I only buy the travel size ($1.49 USD) because I like to keep in it my cosmetic bag. I use it every morning as a moisturizer and since it leaves my face slightly matte/dewy to the touch, it works wonderfully as a foundation primer!

I love this product. I bought the trial size on a whim. I love the texture of it. The normal to dry skin version of this is perfect for my combination sensitive skin. It really does brighten the skin/ clear dark marks. I haven't found it to break me out or cause rashes (I'm eczema prone and acne prone). I also have tried the oily skin version and it will make your face look super matte. but, I find it not moisturizing enough as the weather cools down. I live in an area with a large Hispanic population so I can find this cream in most stores at a great price. Here three sizes are sold 50g ($1.50), 100g ($4 dollars) and the 200g jar ($8-9). I own the 50g and 100g jars. The only things I can think I don't like about this product are that the smell is quite strong (smells ok, just strong) and I don't believe this has sunscreen in it.

Hmm, I have mix-emotion on this product. I really like the texture and scent of this cream. However, it stings a bit when I use it alone on a cleaned face. As for the result, it's not super amazing on fading dark spots, but works well as a daily moisturizer.
