I absolutely love this makeup! It provides coverage all day long with little to no retouching, it does provide the dewy soft look..I wished they hadn't closed the stores the only reason i am not a continued wearer of this makeup is because now they are only online. Online until the supply has run out.
No other makeup like this one! Very smooth and clean coverage it is buildable coverage, add a little candlelight luminizer and you will glow all day and night long! Definitely will not cause a breakout reaction...
Bring Perscriptives back to the counters!!!

I chose this over the other foundation formulations because it is mineral based (and also oil-free & non-acnegenic). For me it takes a while to blend in but can look really good at the end. However, it does highlight any dry patches and can end up looking cakey after a few hours. It does last all day but it feels a bit heavy on my face. Coverage is medium-full. Although the packaging is not the sleekest, I like it because it's hygenic and at the end, I can cut open the tube to use up every last drop!

not one of the better Prescriptives products -- but ok for some.
I found it caked too many times for my taste but that is all moot since this whole line is discontinued.
buh bye

This is my favourite foundation, very natural and long lasting, can be sheer, medium or full coverage and only need to use a little product each time, the tube has lasted me a long time. I love it and purchased an extra tube and i'm sad that the brand has been discontinued but hopefully they will continue to sell through their website and online. The foundation goes on feeling sticky and is easy to blend into skin, wonderful matching colours, and dries matt and yes it lasts all day! depending on the type of moisturizer i use, i only need to touch up my t-zone once during the day with MAC Blot Powder or sometimes not at all. I have sensitive skin which is dry in cooler weather and oily t-zone during warmer weather and out of all the foundations i have tried this is my HG!!
But if you don't like it perhaps try switching your moisturizer as i find mineral makeups do not suit oily moisturizers. At the moment I am using this foundation with 'A'kin Pure Moisture' (for sensitive skin) and I find this foundation "matches" my current moisturizer perfectly!
For reference I am Chanel #20 / Guerlain #02 (I usually use the 2nd lighest shade for most high-end foundation brands) and Level 2 Warm is a perfect match for me! No other brand or other PX foundation have I found such a perfect match!

I have combo medium skin with occasional breakouts.
I've been using this foundation for about a year now, it being my HG foundation, I'm very satified with the coverage, natural finish it gives my skin.
I'm very saddened to see that Prescriptves is going out of business. Does anyone know if there is a similar product out there I should turn to? I hate the idea of starting over from scratch, sampling foundations from every brand and putting my face through "heck" and back.

I have typically had oily skin and bad breakouts, and have tried all sorts of foundations - everything from Clinique to Maybelline to Mary Kay. This is the BEST foundation I have come across yet. It goes on smoothly - never cakes or sticks in those unfortunate smile lines. It has definate staying power. And that's even after a day sitting at a desk with my cheek mashed up against my fist in utter boredom.
In addition - it's a mineral foundation - which means it's great for people with acne-prone skin!! If you forget to wash your face (or let's face it, you're just plain lazy at times), mineral products are the HEALTHIEST products for your face! With the previous comments about breaking out - chances are it's not because of this product's ingredients. In reality, it's most likely because you switched to a new product (are you not used to mineral based foundations?) or you're cleanser is not right for this type of product.
Anyway, great stuff! A little on the pricey side (it's no trip down a Walmart isle), but definately well worth it!!

I wanted so much to like this foundation - it even had non-acnegenic on the bottle! I was so excited for this foundation, but after using it I have had the absolute worst break out of my entire life. I'm not exaggerating this, folks; my esthetician, whom I've been going to since 7th grade (!!!), told me that she has never ever seen my skin the way it currently is. Every one of my pores is clogged, which she attributes to this very foundation. It's so disappointing. Please, if you have acne-prone skin - DO NOT USE THIS FOUNDATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to pay $100 in chemical peels to undo the damage this foundation has done to my skin.

My new favorite PX foundation. I recently switched from the Virtual Matte foundation. My skin is no longer as oily, and has finally gotten to a "normal" stage. I am impressed with this foundation, it feels great on my skin and the coverage is pretty good. As always, the color match is perfect, and I stocked up due to PX going out of retail in Jan 2010.

11-24-09 EDIT
Color me red with embarrassment! Much to my horror and dismay this crap gave me that stupid cystic acne stuff which I've never had in my entire life and never knew what it was until I used this consistently for a week! And no, it wasn't from hormones! I was completely nonhormonal and giving this stuff its fair evaluation. Yes, it looks beautiful on and wears like a dream and looks like a facial fantasy but DAYUM! I will be swapping this beauty killer away! I'm so mad!!!!! I swear this stuff is what gave me horrible cystic acne! I switched back to my Almost Makeup foundation from Clinique. :-(
Original review gave this product five lippies and sang its praises. No more. It's unacceptable to break skin out like this stuff did! I am horrified! I want to SUE Prescriptives for this!!!!!!!
MUA won't let me leave ZERO lippies or I would!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have acne-prone skin that also suffers from many blemishes. I've used so many different liquid foundations (NARS - Sheer Matte, Clinique - Even Better, Superfit, YSL - Perfect Touch just to name a few) and this is definately my HG! It's such a shame Prescriptives is going out of business now. I'm definately going to have to stock up!
It doesn't break me out and it feels like I'm not even wearing makeup. A little goes a long way aswell. The coverage is medium but buildable. It's 16 hour claim is surprisingly quite true. I put this on in the morning for a long day at work with conditions which include being under strong lights, at night this foundation is still on and feels great!
If you're oily you should maybe set it with a powder as it doesn't have a very strong mattifying quality. I set this with the All skins powder by Prescriptives and I'm good for a whole day without touching up - and that says a lot for me because I can get VERY oily.
If you're looking for a liquid foundation that is good for you definately get this!
EDIT: After using this constantly I've found that I've broken out quite a bit and the consistancy of the product is quite runny and fills in my pores. This might work better for someone less oily and acne-prone. Back to Clinique Superfit for me.

I like this foundation. I've been a studio fix liquid and powder user for as long as i can remember and just recently started associating my bad skin and breakouts to the MAC products i was using. I did a lot of research and decided to try this one out. My NW20 skin was a pretty good match for px level 2 warm... allthough the MA was really pushing getting a "custom blend" shade i just couldn't justify spending 60+ dollars on foundation.
My skin is very thin and sensitive and i have a lot of those wonderfull dark spots left from the ghosts of pimples past.... and this foundation does a good job at evening out my skin tone. As other people have mentioned it IS a tad sticky, i use my MAC 188 brush to apply it but stay away from my eye areas because the stickiness makes it look kinda wierd and creased (although it may just be the brush.) It has slightly stained my 188 brush over time (nothing TOO serious but it IS discolored.) Other products don't seem to sit very well under this foundation, sometimes i use acne.orgs gel BP before my moisturizer and it seems like it makes the makeup look cakey. But just moisturizer alone and it looks great.
I've also had several chemical peels since owning this and i think it has done a good job at hiding the nasty brown flakey skin. I'm not sure i really believe in an HG foundation (i guess im still just wishing that my skin was nice enough not to have to wear any at all) and if i come across something i like better i will definitely pick it up, but as of now i'm satisfied.
UPDATE 03/12/10: I stopped using foundation for awhile to let my skin breath and started only using concealer and powder. I wanted to look a little bit more "made up" one day and went back to this... and was SO disappointed! It must have gone bad or something but i dont think i really had it for that long. It looked cakey and i couldnt get it to blend for crap, it kind of stuck in certain places on my face (like between my brows) and that night i had like 4 new little pimples on my cheek. I was so upset i tossed it out... i know they dont sell px anymore, but if they did i wouldn't get this foundation even if it was free.

This is my ultimate foundation. I was a former bare minerals wearer, but it didn't provide enough coverage. I also found out that this made my skin clear up drastically.
I like light, sheer coverage so this works great. It gives my skin a great luminous finish that's not shiny. Mine doesn't cake at all, and doesn't settle unless I'm wearing way too much. Lightly applying works wonders with this great foundation!
If your breaking out, I think it might be the powder accompanying this foundation. The lady at the counter gave me their regular instead of the mineral powder. It has talc in it, so watch out!
But this foundation cleared my skin and makes me look fabulous! Good luck ladies!
EDIT:
made my skin too pink, eventually caused breakouts. Went on streaky...switched back to bare minerals original which is working perfectly for me now that I need less coverage. Still have a tube left and use it when I need some full coverage but it also has an annoyingly sticky consistency.

I generally don't write many comments but I have to say I love this foundation. However like some others have mentioned it felt sticky and had a caked on kind of feeling to begin with... Then I realised I just need alot less of it :-) I use a primer first and then put it on with a foundation brush with spreads its really evenly, I can still see my freckles showing through so it is sheer if you apply this way. I use a dusting of powder over it and it lasts all day, its amazing. The color match is great for me also...If you bought this and feel its too heavy I'd definately recommend playing around with it a little...for me its the best foundation I've used and I've definately tried them all...

I cannot wear any Prescriptives foundations or moisturisers,,,,it seems like such a pure line but I break out terribly from their products....in places I never break out in!! Around nose, mouth,,,YUK! Takes forever to clear out of skin. Oh well, I always like to try but no more Prescriptives for me. I bought the Estee Lauder Nutritious Vita- Mineral and I really like it....a little thick but I add a little of my oil free moisturiser or use a damp sea sponge and it's perfect, really does help absorb oil like it says : ) SPF 10

I thought it was just me, when I starting reading the other posts about how this foundation caused their skin to break out as well! I know this foundation is the culprit, because there were no other new products in my routine. For a foundation that is mineral based, oil free, non-comedogenic/non-acnegenic I cannot believe the havoc this foundation has caused. Clogged pores, cystic bumps that I haven't had this bad of an experience with a foundation before...over priced garbage. Also the kabuki mineral brush that I bought from them is garbage too, hairs falling out all over the place. I'm done with Prescriptives...if you have sensitive skin RUN!!! :(

After reading all the reviews on MUA, I decided to go to the counter and get a sample. My skintone is NC25-30 and I got a sample in Level 2 Warm.
I used this foundation for about a week so I think I have a general idea to give it a review.
I have acne prone and very sensitive skin.
This foundation is medium coverage (even though the sales lady said it was sheer). It gives a luminous finish without you looking oily. It did control oil and stayed on tack the entire day. I even took a nap with it on and my pillow had no residue.
It is important to note that you must set this foundation with powder and try not to put any on your eyelids. It dries to a sticky finish. I could feel my eyelids sticking together each time I blinked. So please remember to set this with powder.
Medium coverage, luminous finish...why didn't I like it? The sticky finish killed it for me causing it not to feel as light. I have tried other medium to full coverage foundations that feel really light to the skin. This almost felt mask light but not to the point where MUFE Mat Velvet+ did.
Overall, if you can get a sample, try it. But I would not spend $42CAD on this foundation due to the sticky finish.
Also, I believe this gave me cystic acne that is still now healing, so that is definitely a downside. Finally, it can look cakey if you applied too much.
[edit] I forgot to mention that because this foundation had a sticky finish, it caused my foundation brush to "gum up". The fibres were stuck together and it was hard to clean it with brush cleansers. Had to shampoo my brushes after every application and even then it took a few washes to get my brushes back to their normal condition.

I'm always on the prowl for better make-up. I tried this following the reviews on MUA. I don't know what to think about this. It seems to match, but then not. It does leave a sticky feeling on and I cannot wear it without setting it with the mineral powder. I don't like the way my skin looks in this make-up (or both). Something's off. I'm still breaking out ( I was using MAC again...big mistake) and even though it decreased, it's still happening. Go for this make-up if you can find your absolute match. I'm not a lover and will swap or something.
