Hmm...I don't really know what to think of this lipstick. Not the worst on the market but for some reason I just didn't like it!
First of all, the color...looks red. To me it looks more like a chestnut brown with a lot of red to it and a yellow undertones. I can't believe people say it's a Russian Red dupe...
The thing that I just hate about this lipstick is that I get annoyed every time I wear it: I am not sure what undertones it has! Sometimes they are yellow, most of the time chestnut, sometimes both and it bugs me a lot. I just don't like the color that much.
An other point is the transfer...holy cow! The transfer is ridiculous. The other day I was drinking a beer straight from the can as usual and the golden can looked like I have been kissing a vampire who just had his meal. Or like my periods where coming out from the wrong side, yes that gross. It gets everywhere, I ruined one of my favorite scarves.

But I have to admit that it has a texture that I love, very creamy and moisturizing, it feels like a lip-balm, you know that healthy-pharmacy-kind-of-lip-balm. And if you are looking for a not so ordinary/true "red" then maybe you might like this one. I might wear it at night for an easy casual look so I don't have to use my expensive stuff (you know, a casual evening not worth using a good Ruby Woo) but as long as I am concerned, this is a lipstick I am not buying again, not this shade.

Pros:
-pretty cheap
-smooth
-long-lasting when it comes to the amount in the tube (bought it 6 months ago, use it every day, haven't used the 2/3 of the amount)

Cons:
-doesn't last long
-poor variety of colors (a lot of sparkling shades that make you look older)
-dries your lips out (not so much, but still)
-packaging quality could've been better
And the WORST: it actually clumps up at the corners of your mouth, which I hate.

I don't think I will buy this again.

Pros:
Good colour payoff.
Lasts longer than an average lipstick.
Nice smell.

Cons:
A little dark, not quite a modern red and more of a classic red.
Slightly drying.
Stains a little too.

I was looking for a bright red lipstick, and at Shoppers, all rimmel products were on sale for 2/$7 (yay!). I got a red lipgloss as well.
I'm not gonna lie – I'm obsessed with red lipstick. I have a warm undertone, and red lipstick looks really good on me. I had this really ancient, crappy one I found in my basement a while back. It sucked, but I can't be mad at it. It was super old, and I don't even know where it had been! (now looking back I realize it was a big mistake to use that)
Anyway, this red lipstick is UH-MA-ZING! It goes on so smoothly, and has really good holding power! It's a really pretty colour, doesn't smell weird, and was dirt cheap! I don't know the regular price, but it can't be that expensive. I occasionally like to dab on a bit of the red lip gloss to give some sheen, but I don't overdo the lipgloss. This lipstick is awesome! I wish I could give it 6 lippies (haha)

Compliments:). I was wearing this, mascara, bronzer to contour, blackbrown pencil for my black brows and Chanel PL B10 ( I now have no troubles in application and like it more ). No one has said anything about the l/s or shade instead it drew attention to my eyes. "Omg, your eyes are piercing black!" They are not quite but close, very dark brown. Wearable daytime warm red, good pigmentation, not drying. If this was longerlasting, it would be perfect:/.

Rimmel Alarm is my first red lipstick and has inspired me to write my first review. I am often very disappointed when I purchase make up on impulse at the supermarket - and consequently I had no idea I would love this so much. I didn't know I could wear bright lipstick so well. It brightens my often dull olive skin, it is incredibly moisturising even though I often suffer from dry lips and it doesn't feather at all on me. I adore its scent too - it smells like bubble gum to me. In a 9-5 work day, I need to touch up about 3 times - and that seems reasonable to me. I am usually a 'high end' cosmetic girl and I'm not sure any other Rimmel products will work for me, but I will keep an eye out for any other lipsticks in this range. So excited that I can "pull off" red lipstick!

I liked the color... goes on well.. no feathering... nice fire engine red... but I didnt like the scent of the lipstick at all... if not for the smell .. I would continue using it.. The color is almost identical to MAC`s Russian Red.. The packaging befits the price. No issues there.

Super pigmented and lasts long. It's a semi-matte finish. Suits my medium/olive skin tone.
Best worn with minimal eye makeup and perfect foundation, because this is the kind of red lipstick that really draws attention and can highlight any redness, acne, pigmentation.
You might want to use a lip brush to apply. I find it best to blot, re-apply and blot again.
I took one lippie off because of the candy odour. If it weren't for this, this would be HG material.
But, for $4, this red lipstick by Rimmel is quite impressive!

This was $5. FIVE DOLLARS. I stood in the store for almost half an hour trying to choose between this and Jet Set Red. I might just go back and buy both because FIVE DOLLARS! <3

I lost my MAC Russian Red and this is almost identical.

Love love love.

This is my HG red lipstick. I bought it on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart, dirt cheap! Color has great staying power, smells good though I usually get lots of lipstick afterward on my teeth, I found this was not as bad as some others. Formula is smooth, somewhat matte and not drying.
There is a warm and cool red available in this specific line of rimmel lipsticks. This is the 'cool' red. I have medium (not pale/not tan) Chinese skin and dark brown eyes and black hair and this is super sexy, wore it with winged eyeliner and neutral face for the first time.
Will try to post pictures later!

Gorgeous!! I absolutely love this lipstick. I've been looking for a good red lipstick that wouldn't cost me the earth for ages and I've finally found it! I'm seriously amazed at the quality of this lipstick. Amazing true red colour, great creamy consistency, great pigmentation, smells nice and doesn't break the bank! Cannot fault it!

Red alarm red.. oh yes, when you want your lips to be the focus of your face, this is the lippy to wear. Gorgeous red -- doesn't lean blue or brown, but is a neutral warm red on me.

I am wearing it as a stain too and it is gorgeous. Love it and truly think Rimmel doesn't get enough credit for their gorgeous lipsticks at affordable prices.

Wow, gorgeous true red for a great price. Long lasting, super pigmented, and creamy. As other reviewers have said, Alarm's true red rivals MAC and other high end reds. I am not fond of the scent or the tube that it comes in, but overall, this is a quality drugstore lipstick at a bargain basement price.

Rimmel London doesn't get enough credit for their lipsticks. I love this color. It's super pigmented and the consistency is great. I have never needed to reapply while out on the town for a night of dancing and drinks. The color can easily be blended with other lipsticks or pencils to create other colors as well. I always make sure to pick up a new tube when I run out or when I somehow manage to lose it. It's my favorite shade of red. It's vibrant and a very true red that nail polishes can easily be found to match with if that happens to be your thing. =) If not, it's probably going to match the shade of red on that item of clothing or accessory you've been scouring the makeup aisles for.

My first red lipstick. yeah, I decided to go for extremely bright. Seriously, when I put this on, my lips scream "LOOK AT ME!" Not that its a bad thing, I am a bit scared of it.

I have yellowy warm toned skin and I happen to actually like the color, even though its more cool toned. Its definitely red, but it has a hint of orange and berry. I love the smell, the texture is a bit waxy and dry, but it lasts for quite awhile. I put this on and accidentally forgot to wipe it off before I slept and the next morning it was still there.

I would probably keep my face very neutral...

I actually am very impressed with Rimmels lipsticks in general. This color actually does last a good time for the price too. My lips did not seem to flake like most cheaper brands cause. I think that this color works well especially if you are new to wearing red lips its not too vibrant. I would recommend this product again. I plan on trying another red lipstick from Rimmel.

i had purchased this product some time ago because i am so in love with the rimmel lipsticks. i rarely wear red, but i purchased it anyway. this past weekend was halloween and my costume called for a red lip, so i used it. i cannot believe how long-lasting this lipstick is! i went through the entire night two nights in a row, reapplying only to brighten the color a bit. on the second night i even went out to eat after a party and the color was still there without bleeding or anything. you don't need to paint this product all over your lips to get good results -- a little goes a long way.
