I've been using this for a couple of weeks now and to be honest, I'm not that impressed. While it's not awful, I don't think it holds my makeup on any longer than if I weren't wearing it, and my oily skin still seems to be shiny by midday even when wearing this. Perhaps it does make my makeup look smoother when first applied but not really noticeably. Back to the drawing boards, unfortunately!

I wanted to like this product since I have been very impressed with everything else BM puts out, but this was terrible compared to the original.
I have very oily skin, so I've been trying all of BM's products to help keep it at bay. This, however, didn't even work being applied, so I can't attest to its oil controlling capabilities. After washing my face and applying moisturizer (and letting the moisturizer dry), I applied this like I do the original formula. However, my skin and moisturizer began to ball up and flake off my face in almost every place I put this on. I immediately knew this wouldn't work, so I started over with my original and had no issues. This was pretty disappointing - but at least the original formula works great!

This is HORRIBLE! I can't even put my foundation on over top of it! It's like this thick, silicone glue all over my face! Don't waste the money!

I think this product is much more effective if only used on problem oily areas rather than an all over primer. I use my FOA primer all over and this primer on my nose and cheeks only. I have definitely noticed that my makeup stays on much better than if I am not wearing this. By about 2pm I am usually missing foundation on either side of my nose, but with this It stays!
I find if I use this along with my MAC blot powder once per day, my makeup stays in its place and I am shine free.
Also, I find that compared to a lot of the other mattifying primers I was considering, this one was a good price and should last me a long time if only using it in small areas.

Personally, I think this is a decent primer. I have read many reviews below me and I can see everyone's concerns and I do agree that those can happen. First off, what I did like about this product- I could see an increase in my foundation wear. It would provide some solid wear for a long time- 8 hours at least. I also like that a little goes a very long way, and this stuff did not break me out (yay!). It also dries pretty clear, unless you accidentally forget to blend a little- in that case, it dries a white-ish color. I like the pump bottle- very convenient. Now, what I found was kinda bad with this product- the quantity. The price is $23, and you literally get a bottle that contains only 2x the product of a sample!! Also, it leaves my skin feeling dry and stretched once I put it on. Not a very pleasant feeling. Although the product did a good job regarding my foundation wear, it did not control my oily skin at all. In fact, I think it just increased it. After about an hour or so, my T-zone was getting oily. I usually count on this stuff because powder breaks me out a lot, so I cannot use it. I was disappointed when this stuff did nothing to control the oil. I would say it is a good primer if you want a primer, but not an oil control one. Sorry- you're on your own for that one.

I have oily acne prone skin and this sadly, did nothing at all. It felt like it was just going to peel off. It sat on the surface of my skin almost like a mask and actually made my makeup cake. I love their regular primer, but this oil control primer does not work.

Awful. I have acne prone, oily skin and this did nothing for me. It felt like I was wearing a mask on my face - not the way you want your makeup to feel. I also felt like it made me break out, but I can't figure out why since it's oil-free.

This product is not fit for me and I have oily skin. I didn't see much of oil control. I hated applying the product only to have it crumble all over my face. So you have to brush the flakes off before attempting to apply any type of foundation. I'm surprised that Bare Escentuals would make such a crapy product... who would repurchase this. Waste of money and embarassing to apply with dandruff like stuff all over your face. No thanks, I'll stick with other brands. Primers that don't say oil control are actually better.

This was not a product for my combination skin. After two weeks of using this, I only saw a slight oil control in my t-zone. But nothing noticeable, or enough for me to repurchase this product. Not to mention it completely dried out my cheeks! It flaked off after only wearing it for a couple hours making my cheeks look flaky with dry skin but it turned out to be the primer. Feels like the Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Gel, it goes on and feels like there is a layer on top of your face, and just sits there and when it dries, tightens the skin. Kind of like a thin mask on your face. I would not suggest this product to anyone with somewhat dry-dry patches on their skin as it will make them look worse. Price is decent though, and the bottle is sanitary.

Bought this to try on my very oily skin in combination with BE's matte foundation & mineral veil. Hated the feel of it, but stuck with it for nearly 2 weeks. My final verdict is: totally doesn't work & not worth the money or added step. I found myself waking up daily to find a new pimple had appeared - one of them the cystic kind! I haven't had a problem with pimples in years - I'm 43!! So I stopped using it, went back to my department store liquid foundation & the mineral veil and my skin looks much better! This will never be used or purchased again - at least by me!
I've used Smashbox's primer previously and really liked it, it's just really expensive.

I actually have repurchased this product several times and I love it. However, it's the first and only primer I've used so I'm not really sure to what to compare it. I like that it's silicone-free, and although I'm not sure if I'm allergic, I've heard bad things so it's probably better that way.
It comes out as a clear gel. I get dry days so it can get a bit flaky on those days but I see a DEFINITE increase in foundation wear time.
As far as packaging, it has a nice pump. However, the pump does get clogged. That's when I have to open up the bottle and unhygenically take some out by hand.
Price isn't terrible -- around $19. I torn about whether to stick with what's tried and true or try something else out to see what I'm missing.
Overall, good product for lasting foundation. Can be drying and the packaging isn't the best. Can't really say anything about oil control. Wish it was a better pore and imperfection filler.

I have very oily (fair) skin and I have used the original Prime Time ever since I started using BE foundation. I purchased the Oil Control thinking it would give me a little extra help with oil control so I would not be reapplying my Mineral Veil halfway through the day. I was totally wrong. I have almost used the entire bottle by this point and I will not be repurchasing this formula. It is a lot thicker than the original primetime and makes my face feel sticky. It also leaves white patches on my skin sometimes when I apply my BE foundation. I understand from the BE website they have reformulated the Oil Control Prime Time now. I may give the new formula a try and see if it is any better than this one. I gave the package a poor rating too because it is impossible to get all of the product out with the pump design.

Does not help my makeup go on nicely - it actually balls up on my skin almost immediately after applying it! It's almost like it just... peels right off. And the initial texture of this primer is quite strange... it's sort of goopy and not smooth at all. I'm very disappointed.

I don't know why other people had problems getting their makeup to stay on with this primer. I received a sample with another order, so maybe mine was just super potent since they want you to buy it? Anyway, I loved it. It went on smooth and my makeup lasted for five or six hours, which is what I expected, so no complaints there. It is kind of expensive compared to others, because you don't get very much, but I would buy this again.

I really don't like this product. It tends to ball up on my skin, creating flakes. I can't use this before makeup because it makes the foundation flaky, so sometimes I use it before bed after the rest of my skincare routine to seal in all of my products. Honestly though, the texture is really off-putting and it's just not a good primer.

I was at sephora looking for a suitable primer after the Makeup Forever hd primer in blue fails on me due to the hotmid weather in Singapore. The MA suggested this to me saying it is very oil controlling and suitable for acne prone skin. And I saw it is one of the best selling primers in singapore's sephora. When I first tried it on the back of my hands, the transparent gel like primer went on smoothly and dried up almost immediately leaving a smooth and oil free surface. Thinking that it's one of the best sellers and the product seem to work well on my hand, i bought it.
The next morning when I wanna wear it to school, the primer came out like a jelly form. And it smells like glue! Not those stick glue, but those cheap watery glue. When I applied it to my face, the texture was not what I expected. It went on smoothly but it takes quite long to dry up. After 5 minutes, I put on my foundation and this was where the diasaster started. It is so bloody flaky!! It's like using a peel gel/ gel exfoliator! It felt as though my skin was peeling! It's super flaky!! In the end I have to remove everything to start all over again Without the primer. At first, I thought I could just remove the flakes using tissue, but it causes more flakes to appear. The whole experience is a disaster.
The next day, I tried using the it's mineral foundation on top of the primer thinking maybe with it's own brand's foundation, it would then work. Once again, I had wasted my time. The foundation just won't go on to the primer! It only made my skin looked flaky! It can't even work well with its own foundation!
Furthermore, the packaging looks really cheap. It looks like those eye drop lotion. White plain packaging. Therefore, I think it really doesn't worth the money and i will never ever buy this again.

I have combo/oily skin. I purchased this product only to put on my oily t-zone, as the rest of my skin doesn't get oily, and seems to keep foundation on quite well.
Withing 30 seconds of putting this on, my skin dried out, flaked and even cracked in places. It was horrendous. It wasn't an allergeic reaction, it literally took ALL of the moisture out of my skin. So I guess if you have INCREDIBLY oily skin, this may be for you. But for me, with slightly above average levels of oil, it was just really not worth it.
I have a sample of their normal prime time to try, but for now, my HG primer is Cargo's Blu-ray primer.

I wanted to buy prime time after reading the reviews here but the mua recommended this and i thought it was the same thing.
the dispenser wasn't good, the primer squirt awkwardly. after my second use, i was started questioning the consistency of the primer and decided to open to have a look, to my horror, it looks like vomit. i haven't been using a lot of primer, in fact this is only my second primer, the first was from MAC, the stuff that comes out of this bottle is definitely different from what I have used. it flakes upon application as well, so i tried using all methods of application but nothing helped. my make up did not stay on for sure, Ive only used it for less than a week and I am contemplating buying a new primer already, just that it's really expensive so i might give it one more try before throwing.

In total agreement with all the other bad reviews of this product. Bought this after using and liking the original prime time primer and thought it would control my oily skin. But no, it's horrible, foundation crumbles / rolls of skin and looks patchy and weird.
I'm sticking to the original prime time!
