I was expecting to have fresh and smooth skin after using this, I was sooo wrong!! I literally did a double-take to make sure it wasn't face cream I was putting on skin instead of cleanser! It feels like you're putting on your face cream, it's thick with no lather and you just can't rinse it off. I was left with a thick, nasty residue on my face and smeared eye makeup. I then used my toner to cut through the residue. The residue my toner picked up was disgusting, it was full of makeup and everything!! My skin just felt so dirty!
I usually like the squeaky-clean feeling after a cleanser and this isn't it! I've even used cream, wipe-off cleansers and can live with that feeling but this one just doesn't cut it.

This cleanser doesn't lather like I'd like it to, leading to a bunch of wasted product and a face that's not so clean. I really want to love Benefit and have purchased a number of their products, but continue to be disappointed by quality. How can you make a face cleanser that doesn't lather? That's a basic function of soap, no? After washing, my face does feel moisturized but not really clean. I'm pretty sure they discontinued this product and rightfully so.

I really, really wanted to like this, as I love mint products and expected this to be zingy and leave my skin feeling really clean, but sadly it didn't. It felt very artificial and slimy and once rinsed off the skin, I still felt the slimy residue left behind. Needless to say, sadly I won't repurchase this item again unless BeneFit re-formulate it.

This is SO strange to me! i cannot believe all the negative comments. i feel so sad for the other ladies who have used this and didn't like it and wish they could have the same experience as i have!
i love it! totes love it.
To me it feels liks a lighter version of Cliniques Comforting Cream Cleanser, which i also adore. the FMW feels great on my skin, and i always feel smoothe and refreshed when i use it.
i've never felt the "film" everyone else is writing about. i wonder if it's just different skin tones, mine is fairly normal, or what?
i will keep using it and buying it.

Im pleased to read on here that it wasnt just me who thought this product left a film on my skin. I recieved a sample, and the cream itself looked nice and pearly, I thought it might lather up well and be gentle but it just felt horrible. Even after a decent amount of rinsing my skin still felt like it had a film covering it, I didnt feel clean at all. I then washed my face to get rid of the nastiness! I liked the smell but eurgh I wouldnt recommend this to anyone.

I like the mint and it does feel fresh while washing, but this left a film on the skin that rinsing did not remove. It just didn't seem like it was really cleaning anything. I break out very easily and was not willing to risk possible acne. This one went back to the store.

i'm not at all impressed with benefit skin products. the mint wash feels nice on but i don't think it really does much. i prefer to stick to professional lines such as murad and peter thomas roth. i wouldn't waste your money on this.

I asked for a sample of this and all I can say is thank goodness I didn't buy an entire tube! I liked the scent -- it smelled fresh and light -- with a slight hint of mint -- not real heavy which is good. Unfortunately, I didn't get much of a lather. It felt sorta "sticky" to wash with -- and my face felt like it had a strange coating/film on it afterwards -- not a dewey, moisturized feeling -- more of a heavy, sorta sticky coating. (I have dryer skin, and I appreciate a moisturized feeling after cleansing -- but not this type of heavy film-like feeling at all.) I also thought the price was a bit steep -- even if I did like it ($26 for 5 oz.).

I've finished 3 or 4 full-sized fantasy mint washes and find it to be just so-so. I used it before SA-recommended Shiseido Pureness Balancing Softener Alcohol-Free (an ick! item IME) and Retin-A or Differin RX acne cream. I believe that if I hadn't used it, my oily, acne-prone, acne-scarred skin would be in worse shape still, but it didn't do much for it either.

I've been saying that out of the 24 give or take items I've bought from benefit, all have been a failure for me (except smoooch chapped lip soother, which ironically became my HG and most used beauty product; I'm currently on my 7th or 8th tube--I highly recommend).

Each time I go back to Benefit I am disapointed. This leaves a strange film on the face, doesn't lather up - at all, I'm serious - and doesn't remove my eyeshadow. I know that MAC shadows really last but really, that's no excuse. Why oh why didn't I go back to my Shu cleansing oil? Don't buy this.

Jeez what the hell is this stuff?! This has to be the worst face wash - if I can even call it this - that I've ever used. It has a nice smell, which was what I liked about it. But it left some sort of weird film on my face afterwards which just felt plain greasy. I will not go anywhere near this again with a bargepole. STAY. AWAY. FROM. THIS.

I love the way this product smells and looks, and I also love the texture, but as an actual wash it kind of falls short. I bought this almost a year ago and still have some left because I hardly ever use it. It does not really make your face feel clean at all. I sometimes use it in the morning when my face is already pretty much clean because I love the smell and it does leave my face nice and soft, but that is pretty much it. I would not buy again.

To begin my story of the Fantasy Mint Wash, I first want to say that I adore so many Benefit products, which work just great for me, but this one didnt work for me at all. I am sorry to say this about a Benefit product, since I like most of them so very very much, but I just cannot get friends with the Fantasy Mint Wash. I got this as a sample for two times, as I remember. The first time, I was so happy when I got it, since I love to try new Benefit products out, but when I washed my face with it, then I got little breakouts on my forehead, and my skin felt a bit oily too. That was a disappointing meeting with the Mint wash, and not much of a fantasy at all. I thought my skin needs to get accustomed to it, so I tried it more times then, but unfortunately without any better results. It didnt even clean my face very good, it just left a film of oilyness on my skin, as some other reviewer said here too, I think. Well, that much about my first sample of the Mint Wash. After some months when I went to the Benefit counter to buy myself the wonderful and great working Honey Scrub, I got the FM wash as a sample again. Of course, I wanted to be nice and think positive, so I tried the second sample again. So again, a big mistake but not a drama since I didnt buy it. Maybe this product works more for those with really dry skin, since it seems to give a bit of moisture when you wash your face with it. For me, this was nothing good though.

This is one of the few BeneFit products I don't like at all. I'm glad I didn't get suckered into buying a whole tube, I asked Mimi to give me a sample which I tried once and then right away threw the rest in the trash. It was irritating to my eyes, made me sneeze and left a film on my face which I hate. I had to wash it off with soap! I don't know why they make a product that has 'soothing chamomile' which is a product I like in facial care, and then put peppermint in it! Ick! Peppermint belongs in my foot scrub, NOT in my facial wash thank you!

I loved this product. It made my skin feel fresh and minty. Smelled great! Great cleanser. I really have no complaints about the product, but it is expensive. I would buy this again. I am glad they now sell it in a tube! UPDATE: The rating is for the old version. I tried the new version in the tube and it was horrible. It was not minty and left my face oily and feeling unclean! Why did they change this???
