I have never tried the legit K-Pak but I found this and am in love. The only other deep conditioner I have tried is Aussie's 3 Minute Miracle, which, let's be honest, isn't too deeply conditioning. This product smells a bit like coconut and vanilla and is super thick. It makes my waist-length, dyed hair SO incredibly soft and it actually feel fortified. I use it about once a week and love it. I would absolutely repurchase.

Works exactly the same as Joico K-PAK except significantly cheaper! I'm a broke college student who can rarely afford high end brands, so this fits the bill! My hair is damaged from frequent highlights and coloring, it's thick and very long/curly. The bottle basically sucks, so I took a lippy off because it takes me a min or two to get the product to come out! Wish it came with a pump dispenser but no worries. They consider this to be a reconstructor and it's meant for very dry & brittle hair, I do not recommend to those who are looking for a basic deep conditioner, this is for ladies and gents who need to save their hair! It smells like vanilla and tropics, and after 3-5 minutes letting it soak into my hair it feels much softer! Proteins contained in this product may have a drying effect on some people, especially if used more than once a week. I recommend following this treatment up with a conditioning balm or deep conditioner to counteract any dryness that occurs. My hair feels softer and full of vitality, the damage is less visible and frizz has been reduced. Highly recommend.

I brought this product because I wanted to restore my curls. I had damaged my hair with heat very badly, so much that the curls in the front portion of my head had completely vanished. I wasn't sure if Joico K-Pak was going to have any effect on my heat damaged 3b curls so I decided to try this instead since the ingredients appeared to be identical + it was significantly cheaper. I didn't really see any results after the first two times I used this, but after my third time using this product I was amazed to see that my hair was curling up again. My curls have finally returned and it's all because of this product. It is truly amazing, and a great value for the price. I always follow up with a good deep conditioner (Sally's GVP of Matrix Biolage Conditioning Balm) and my hair looks/feels healthier + is able to hold curls again. This is definitely a HG product for me. My only complaint is that the bottle it comes in kind of sucks. I would prefer a pump dispenser or a jar.

I used the Redken Extreme Deep Fuel and that worked better than this, but got discontinued :( But this is still an excellent protein treatment for my hair. It's been bleached and colored wayyyy too much. I'm Asian and I tried to go blonde-ish lol. But anyways, this stuff works so well for me. I use it once a week, after I shampoo and I use a deep conditioner afterwards. The days I use this, it makes my hair feel sooooo soft and it feels like how my hair used to be before I damaged it...lol. It's cheap too, i'm on my second bottle as well. BUT, I noticed that every time I buy it, there's only one bottle left in the store, so it might be hard to obtain since it seems like a popular product. If you like it, you might want to stock up! Love this stuff, my hair would be a mess without it and I would probably end up cutting it all off if I didn't have this!

I have fine curly hair, and this makes my hair super dry and frizzy. Shiny, yes, but not worth the dry frizz. wish i could return it :(

Never tried the real-deal Joico stuff...can't afford it. I like this product though. I've put my hair through hell the past couple months and I really think this product helped my hair from breaking and falling off completely. It's coconutty, but not in a way that gags me and gives me a headache. It doesn't linger either. Price is right. Will repurchase.

I use this product about once a month in conjunction with a deep conditioner (L'Oreal Nature's Therapy). Like any other product, it's not a miracle elixir, but it's cheap, will last a long time, and I am left with hair that looks and feels significantly healthier. For reference: I have nearly waist-length, color-treated hair that is fine in texture, but has a lot of volume and curls.

I just bought this today so I've only used it once; I'll update this review once I've used it a few times. After reading the raves for Joico K-pak on the hair board, and also the helpful advice pointing me to this much-cheaper knock-off, I bought this at Sally's along with a packet of deep conditioner. I also picked up Herbal Essences Degunkify from Ulta because a protein treatment like this is going to be much more effective if you clarify first to get rid of build-up.

I have to say I like it quite a bit. After using it along with the deep conditioner, my hair feels very soft, shiny, and less frizzy. I wasn't expecting miraculous results with this, but that's only because my hair is in pretty good condition to begin with. I decided to get it anyway because my hair is very fine, breaks easily, and I highlight it. I wanted to help it out a bit by giving it some protein, but since it's pretty healthy I'll only use this once a month.

This is a great protein treatment. My hair feels stronger after I leave this in for about 5 minutes, and it smells awesome, like bananas. This makes me want to try the kpak version to see if its just as good.

Love this! It's a great protein treatment! I have very fine, blonde hair and I like to use it prior to a deep conditioner on a weekly basis. It is also good before or after I highlight my hair. For 5$ it's a steal!!

WOW!!! Amazing. My hair is wavy/curly and can frizz like nobody's business! But this has made my colored hair feel stronger, softer and much healthier. Also, you really can't beat the price at Sally's.

This is a much more affordable alternative to the Joico K-Pak. I thought I would give it a try. For my fine, dry hair I did not notice any drastic difference in my hair as when I use Aphoghee's 2 minute keratin treatment. Has a mild coconut scent. I used this once a week as a deep protein treatment followed by a deep moisturizing treatment. As it is so cheap, it is definitely worth trying to see if it will work for you.

HG. I love this stuff. My hair is wavy and damaged from too many highlights done poorly (in an expensive salon no less, sigh) and I'd usually end up with frizz if I didn't use a ton of product or blowdry. This stuff is AMAZING. After one use I could already tell a major difference in my hair. Will be using this weekly, and the price is awesome too! I hope they never discontinue it.

Absolutely one of the best protein treatments out there! I adore the Joico brand treatment, but I can't often afford to buy it. I use this once a week or two followed by a moisture deep treatment. It keeps my hair looking and feeling fabulous! *Note: this is a protein-rich treatment, so you should follow with a moisturizing conditioner for best results! Protein treatments are great for repairing damaged hair, but they can be drying. So don't use too often either!

Hair feels like silk, less nasty dry ends, and a good sized bottle for under $5! Definitely plan on repurchasing, hopefully it's in stock at my local Sally's since when I went and grabbed this, it was one of the last bottles left! I would never pay $30 for a treatment (like the actual K-Pak) so this stuff is great.
