I like the product inside the packaging. It's non-drying and lasts a good long time, and doesn't fade patchy. If there's a way to possibly repot it, I will do so, because the packaging is atrocious.
The cap locks on so tightly that you have to grip it like King Kong to pry it open, which results in jerky motions and product getting all over your hands. The twist idea is fine for a thicker product, but this is far too liquidy, causing the stain to leak out through the brush if not stored upright, which means portability is severely lacking unless you have a small pocket in your purse that is deep enough to keep it standing on end. The leakiness results in a major waste of product, which for the price is completely unacceptable.
I'd repurchase in the event that I can repot it because overall, I love the product, but for the price, this should-be-perfect item leaves a lot to be desired.

This is a GREAT lip tint. I've tried so many of them, and lots of them either leave your lips feeling unnaturally sticky, or are freakish colours. Pomegranate Crush gives a fantastic 'my lips but better' colour, and it's really easy to apply - it doesn't dry too quickly so you can get the colour evenly applied, it layers if you want more colour and it doesn't dry out my (very very dry) lips. It lasts for quite a long time as well - not all day, and lip balm / eating will remove it, but it certainly lasts longer than any lipstick I've ever tried and compares well with other lip tints for staying power.
The packaging, I admit, is a bit fiddly but not bad enough to turn me off the product - there isn't an instant dispense after you turn the end to bring more tint into the brush so you need to work out how to get a constant flow into the brush - basically if you turn it a couple of times every time you use it, there is always some near the end of the brush and you get a consistent flow of product. If you turn it too much you get a massive gloop into the brush, if you don't turn it every time you get a gap in the flow and then you have to create a gloop to get it flowing again. But once you figure it out it's not that hard to use.

I have only used this as a lip stain and although I love the color it gives my lips it doesn't last on. I'm giving it a 2 and I think I'm being generous since it last less than an hour on me. I have yet to try it as a cheek stain but I don't know about this color on my cheeks. The packing is a cool idea nothing new but still cool however it can be messy and annoying to try and get product to the brush. Bottom line cool idea, nice color, not long lasting, won't be repurchasing.

I LOVE this product. The staying power is AMAZING, in fact I couldn't remove it even after cleaning it with makeup remover twice lol. I look better in cooler colours, and this colour was so "cool" it made my lips look almost purple, not orange. Very nice both as a stain and blush. However, the packaging is a 0 OUT OF 5, sucks, took me 15 mins of careful twisting to get it out, as I tried the store's tester and it gushed out after I twisted it too fast. It takes VERY long to get out of the brush, such a stupid let down for the price, but I am LOVING the product itself.

I really like this lip stain! The pigmentation is very good and it smells divine! I've been trying to find a lip gloss/lipstick/lip stain that would stay on my lips at least an hour without having to reapply and this lasts for so long! It doesn't smudge or stain the glass when I drink. It lasts even after dinner! The longest that it has stayed on was about 4 hours which is a miracle for me! I don't even need to prime my lips for this. Will definitely repurchase this!

not sure about a 3 or a 4 for this product. one thing is that i adore the color, gives an absolutely beautiful blood red flush to your lips. sort of like you've made out with your boyfriend for too long, except better haha. point is that it's an oddly natural looking red. coming from me, this is kind of a big deal because i have pretty huge lips that can look ridiculous with red color. anyhow, i think ladies with full lips who are not into bright red stoplight red will be cool with the natural flush this gives.
on the cheeks it can be garish if not blended in quickly, but the staying power is strong, so i'll give it a 4 for that. on the other hand, on the lips it can wear off quite quickly (for which i'd give it a 3.)
the packaging is crap, by the way. if i find some way to get this product to dispense as it should, i'll be thrilled. as of now i can take the tip off the pen and just grab some to put on my fingers. i'm assuming this is because i bought it as part of a gift package from beautycrush. i'm curious about the other stila crush colors now, but given my experience w/ this crap pen i can't safely say i'd buy it again.
on the other hand, SUCH A REALISTIC FLUSH on my skin and lips. i adore this aspect of it, because as much as we like "natural" looks they can wind up looking very unnatural. this stuff basically looks like i came in from the cold or running or some such thing that brought life into my cheeks/lips.
very similar to the discontinued orchid convertible color which i also got as part of a beautycrush package. [:

Such a gorgeous color, but has the crappiest staying power on my lips ever! It moves to the edges of my top lip. but ends up looking all splotchy on my bottom lip. I.E, it just looks funny. I'll use this up as a cheek stain, but I'm not buying this again.

Stila gets my award for HG cheek stain!!!! Staying power is ridiculous!!!! I can put this on at 4am and it will still be there when I get off work at 7pm!! The pomegranate color is a pretty plummy shade that can be built, no shimmer in this one. I have only tried this on cheeks because I like to keep lip and face products separate. Staying power is very important in a product that claims to be a stain, and this delivers ++!! Quantity in the pen is only 2.4g-I use one of these stains everyday and there still seems to be a lot of product left. You don't need a lot, it has good color pay off:) It is expensive for the amount of product you get but it works like nothing else I've tried. 5 stars!!!

I love lip stains and high hopes for this one but sadly I returned it to Sephora after trying to make it work for almost a week. The packaging is awful. Every time I opened it there was a blob of product on the end of the brush and I never clicked it once after the initial opening. I thought maybe it was a defective package so I thought I might just exchange it for another one since the colour is quite pretty. Unfortunately it faded off completely after less than an hour. It was very disappointing. The drugstore marker type stains are much longer lasting and less than half the price.

I love this color! The plum red/pink suits my lips better. It looks like my lip color but only better. (I tested Cherry Crush and it's definitely a red that stands out. It looks as if I drank Kool Aid.)
The gel texture makes it much easier to apply and gives you some time to blend.
I don't like the click pen but it is nice to have it to apply on the lips. I tried this on the cheek and it didn't work to well. It makes the application streaky.

I am surprised at how people have such mixed reviews about this product. I know the stila click pens can take a bit of getting used to but I find I do 4 clicks, wait, then another 2-3 then wait etc and I am OK.
I have so many lip stains and this is one of the better ones. It is a great red/plum/cherry color and the texture is not drying, sticky and does not bleed even without liner. I find the lasting power pretty good and it wears off evenly, not leaving you with that ring around your lips like a lot of stains do.
I have not used it on my cheeks yet - I stick to my stila cherry flush cheek gel but would see no problem with using it for this purpose.
The pen is great for throwing in your bag (I end up with about 6 by the end of the week in my work bag LOL) and is great for travelling.
Price is not cheap (esp. if I buy here in Oz) by evil bay keeps me nicely in my make up habit :)

Oh, I so wanted to like this product. For some reason, after I apply it to my lips, it won't stay on my lips--it moves into a ring on the edge of my lips within sixty seconds. I've never had a product do this with my lips. And no, I wasn't wearing any lip product on my lips that might cause the stain to not stick. Also, while the clicking applicator is cute in theory, I always end up getting too much product out. And last downside, for some reason, this product numbs my lips, I don't know why. I've repeatedly tried this product, but have had the same outcome every single time.
I'm truly sorry this product doesn't work because it smells lovely and it's a gorgeous color. In fact, it's so gorgeous in color that I plan on seeing if Stila has a color equivalent in their lip glaze line(I've seen listed a Pomegranate Lip Glaze, but I can never seem to spot an actual Pomegranate Lip Glaze at any store.)
PS: Am wondering if I used an inaccurate term describing the applicator for this product: it does make a clicking sound when I turn it, but it might have sounded like I meant a click pen style when in fact it twists. All the same, awkward packaging and it still leaves my lips numb every time.

I have been looking for an alternative to lipstick for the longest of time. I absolutely hate the look and feel of lipstick, thus I have been pretty much a blistex and gloss girl. I like a more natural, low maintenance look. Me only better ;) A friend told me I was an excellent candidate for a lip stain. Before spending on higher brand names I took the Cover Girl versions for a spin. Loved the color and texture-free feel but hated the packaging and longevity. These markers are terrible, they last as long as Crayola markers do. These dry out very fast thus minimal applications per marker, what a waste!!! Upgrade to Stila lipstains. These came recommended by Sephora sales lady. Can I just say these ladies know their products :) I always come out a satisfied customer. Anyhow, the Stila lipstains are a staple in my routine. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these. They take a few clicks when being used for the first time thus the comments about frustrations with packaging I think, but that is it. After your first application it only takes a click or two to bring product to the brush. You don't want to turn the clicker too much because this stuff will come out like lava thus wasting product. Staying power is great with this formula. Much, much longer than Cover Girl.
In my profession it is an added bonus that these stains don't come off on my medical face masks, unlike sticky gloss. These are a must for all you divas in the medical profession like me. Very natural looking. The cherry stain is a great color for every skin tone. If you have a tendency to dry lips you can layer blistex over this, as I do in winter months. Overall, very satisfied with this product. I have since purchased pomegranate and coral shades. The coral seems to have some shimmer that ends up at the corners of the mouth so this is the only shade I will not purchase again. The raspberry is pretty applied sparingly for tanned skin but too fushcia for me in winter months (aka paler skin tone). I have yet to try the other shades but my ultimate faves are the pomegranate and cherry. Most universally flattering and give lips a natural flush from within. I have noticed that Tarte has come out with their own version of stains, tested them out and they are quite sheer and definitely do not have the staying power as Stila stains. I have not tried the Benetint yet so cannot compare. Will definitely continue to purchase the Stila stains, a little pricey but completely worth it. A little goes a long way and one pen will last you months.

I love the color of this product. It works well as a lip stain and a cheek stain. When used on my cheeks, it gives an extremely natural looking flush , and on my lips a hint of berry color. it doesn't dry my lips out but the staying power is not the longest. I'm not a fan of the applicator, the click system is clumsy and inaccurate. I never know how much product is going to come out, and if you click too much, the next time you open it up there will be a glob of goop on the end of the brush. I've found the best way to combat this is to click it about three turns every time I'm DONE using it, so that its ready to go the next time. this way i don't have to wait for the product to slowly make its way up the tube.

I like this product. It gives my lips a nice touch of color, without looking over the top. The packaging is kindof frustrating, because it's hard to get the product out of the tube. It's nothing special, and kindof expencive, so I'm not sure if I need to buy this again.

Like others, I was lucky enough to get this in a set (the Can Couture set at Ulta), and it was actually the main reason I bought the set. The color is fantastic. I love the color, it's sheer, but noticeable, and when it works, it works well. I have some problems with dispensing, but nothing I can't overlook. Overall, I kind of dig the packaging. Now for the cons: on me, it fades very quickly. Within an hour or so, if it hasn't faded completely, I'm left with a ring around my lips, like I'm wearing lipliner and nothing else. It's difficult to get it to apply evenly. And the price? OH HECK NO. I think I got my money's worth in the set (I got it on sale for $20 and got 4 products), but there is NO way that I would pay $24 for this in the future. Like another reviewer below me, CoverGirl Outlast Lip Stain (it's about $10 in my area), is a MUCH better deal and a much superior product. Even though there are more expensive products than this one, I think that for the quality, this product is overpriced.

This is the lovely pink-berry color on my lips that could-have-been. The color is perfect and, on me, it is quite sheer (although who would wear this as a cheek stain?! Both the color and the formula seem to be better suited for lips). So Pomegranate Crush gets two lippies for a good color.
Despite its prettiness, this is one very flawed product. As other reviewers have mentioned, the click dispenser is terrible. There is no telling how much product will be dispensed on any given click. Sometimes, I'll click away and none will come out and sometimes it will gush out in one unusable blob. This lip stain is really best when it's applied lightly. Application control is key and these dispensers are no different than any other Stila gloss.
Secondly, the formula itself simply doesn't feel that great. I expect a little bit of dryness with a stain, but this sensation is just bizarre. I don't know how to explain it any better but this feels both extremely drying and extremely tacky and sticky.
Ehhh.

The reviews are pretty much spot-on for this product. The applicator is a pain, and too much comes out at once no matter what you do. I also find that it's not particularly long-lasting. A little might remain after a meal, but not much. That said, this is a beautiful color. It's far more wearable on me than Cherry Crush, which turned hot pink. This goes on as a deep rose, and is so flattering. I like to use it as a base for really vibrant pink lips, which I wear with a toned-down eye. I'm kind of waffling on repurchasing this product, since it does do a job that nothing else in my stash does, but I may also look around for an alternative.

I bought this product online, without testing it first. The color really is gorgeous: a wonderful berry that I used in the winter and continue to use throughout the spring. For a gel stain, the texture is nice. I find I have enough time to blend it on both my cheeks and my lips before it dries. That being said, the applicator is horrible. I always coveted the Stila lip glosses in the same click tubes, but hesitated because I thought the click tube applicator seemed unreliable. I should have listened to my gut when I bought this stain, because, of course, the click tube applicator is horribly unreliable. It takes between 1 and 7 clicks to get the product to come out, and the amount of product that each click produces varies. The brush applicator is smooth enough to use directly on my cheeks, but it is not stiff enough to effectively use on my lips. Though the color is equally beautiful on both cheeks and lips, the staying power varies: on my cheeks, with or without primer, I get it to last until at least the afternoon, but on my lips it is gone pretty quickly. I have not had any problems with this product breaking out my skin. Overall, the color is nice enough that I will use up the product (also because it is so expensive I can’t bear not to!), but I will definitely not be buying it again.
