I absolutely love the colour of Party Line and I like the moisturising feel but unfortunately it bleeds horribly! I end up looking like a little kid who has eaten a red icy pole. It's not that nice stained lip look. It's a berry stain AROUND my lips. Not a good look. I'm still trying to find the primer/powder/whatever that will anchor Party Line to my lips and only my lips because I really want to keep wearing this lovely red but I don't wear it as much as I would if it didn't bleed. As such, I don't know if I'll ever actually finish this tube, let alone buy another. :(

My go to every day lippie. Its a cross between plum and red but is very wearable. I love it.

This shade is sort of a brick reddish color but with more red than brown shades. It's the perfect red against my warm undertones. My search for a great red lipstick is over.

I cannot believe I've never heard of this lipstick before! I went into MAC and told the SA that I was looking for a berry-red, that was not overpowering or too "out there". I am NW15, and my daily lipstick is Twig (also by MAC) which is described as a brownish-pink, shows up as more of a darker pink reddish color on me. I wanted a lipstick I could layer with it, to step it up a notch for evenings and such. I'm so glad I was introduced to this!

The color pay off is great, as most other MAC lipsticks, the packaging is attractive, the subtle vanilla scent is lovely and pretty good staying power. I would repurchase and reccomend! Especially to those who are afraid of bright reds like Russian Red, but want to venture into the world of reds lol :)

I love this color - I was looking for a great red lippie, but not the bright classic color - I wanted just a shade darker. My friend suggested House Wine (which I got later for free with Back2Mac haha) but when I tried that at the shop it seemed a little too sheer and light. I tried this instead, which is I think exactly one shade darker, and it works great! My skin tone is kind of ambiguous and not really dark or pale, (I can look pale or look dark depending on what I wear???) and some people usually are wary of red lips because the wrong color can look cheap if not done right - this lippie is done right.

This is a great red lipstick for going out, paired with an LBD and big hair for that dark mysterious look ;) - it's just bright enough yet dark enough and not gothy at all.

IMO Party Line is probably one of the most underrated MAC lipsticks out there. It's a gorgeous berry-pink-red that leans more heavily towards the red/pink side rather than the purplish/berry side. Due to my skin tone and lip color most berry shades tend to pull gothy-purple (ugh), but not Party Line! I would even call it less of a berry shade and more of a softer red, so those afraid of wearing a bright red could try this out. Pigmentation is excellent, and while many find Cremesheens drying I've had no such problems with the formula. However, I *do* have a problem with MAC lipsticks going bad on me within a year of purchase, so knocking a lippy off. Party Line is definitely worth picking up though.

i got this in back to mac. it stood out to me as a versatile color and i can make it wine like or red like or burnt orange like depending on the liner i pair it with. it's a regular in my makeup bag that's in my purse. it isn't super moisturizing (which i think helps it last longer) but i top it with a little gloss and it's all good. enjoying this one a lot.

This color is beautiful but it photographs really bright on me and that's why i took one lippie off. Maybe I am just not use to seeing myself with such a bright color. love the texture overall and its def worth trying it out. Not sure I would buy it again though because my lipstick broke within a few weeks (very soft)

I just picked this up at the MAC counter and it is fantastic. Amazing colour pay off for a creme sheen, most of mine aren't this good. Feels good on your lips, a bit drying to me but my lips are chapped right now. It just looks amazing on. I am very fair so the berry colour really pops, but I think it would look really good on all skintones. Love love love this berry lipstick. Very Aria from Pretty Little Liars.

Absolutely stunning berry red shade of lipstick! The colour is gorgeous and very opaque, plus the creensheen formula is creamy and smooth. Definitely a keeper and repurchase!

Fantastic Colour - I went to the MAC counter to get a lipstick for my 'Back 2 MAC' and wanted something 'different' that a natural, pinky or true red colour - I actually spotted 'Party Line' myself and was intrigued by the colour - when the Makeup artist came around I simply asked her if I could try it - I instantly fell in love with the colour - I would describe it as a medium burgundy shade - I was actually wearing a burgundy toned jacket and the lipstick looked identical to the jacket colour - its not a deep or dark burgundy, more of a burgundy with a hint of plum or berry tones - very striking - looks great against my dark brunette hair - I will definitely be keeping this one in my makeup bag for years to come!!!

I was all set to buy a third tube of my favorite MAC red, Dubonnet, when I was told they were out of stock. Not one to walk away empty handed, I swiped Party Line on the back of my hand and told my SA to pack it up - this would be the one to come home with me that day.

Was I happy with this purchase? Let's just say I'm so glad it's part of the permanent line. THIS is now my favorite MAC red. It's a berry-leaning shade of scarlet that is so, so incredibly beautiful against my NC25 skin and black hair. It's deep but not so much that it looks gothic, and so appropriate for the darker, colder seasons of the year. I can't stop wearing it, and I'm usually a nude pink/barely there/MLBB kind of girl. Wearing this makes me feel like I've mastered some sort of polished pretty/sexy vamp cross; it's not over the top, yet it's definitely impactful and stunning.

Oddly, Cremesheens are, well, creamy, and therefore easy to apply, but do require the help of a lipliner to keep in place, especially when it comes to a darker color like Party Line. Yet they're still a little drying, especially after a couple of hours of wear, so I top this with something like Revlon's Cherries in the Glow (which I understand is discontinued in the U.S. but still widely available to me here in Canada). But any kind of sheer red would work, I'd imagine. It just adds a bit of oomph while keeping lips moist and comfortable.

Swapped this awhile ago, and tried it the first time today. I've been into darker lipsticks lately because I'm trying out natural looking eye makeup lately (think Bobbi Brown). When I put this lipstick on, it's like the moment when you light up your X'mas tree -- this lipstick literally lights up my whole face despite of the very nude-natural looking eyes. It's a plummy red color, which is a nice alternate from the popular blue red lipsticks.

Not sure why this lipstick is so different for me than it is for others, but this is WAY dark on my very fair skin, such a deep plummy red that I could look goth if I put on a second layer. It really reminds me of the 90s when girls wore super dark red lips with pale blonde hair. I certainly wasn't expecting that when I first tried it on, but now it has come in handy so much, especially for my Halloween look, that I cannot give it up. It has really grown on me...but if you're pale, beware! Try it on first!

Ok so I went to the MAC counter for eye shadows and I have back to MAC items. So I decided that I wanted to get a lipstick with a little more color to it. I usually wear nude colors so I wanted something not too crazy lol. The SA took me over the the cremesheens (I only have lustre so this was new). She showed me Party Line and I swatched it on my hand. I loved the color right away. It was a plummy/ but with a little red to it color. When I got home I tried it out and I love it!!!! The color looks so different from the picture above on me. It goes great with my C4 skin color. It's a color perfect for fall and for any event. I'm so glad I got this :-)

This is actually my first MAC purchase. =D

I've been looking for a nice plummy color for fall that wouldn't dry out my lips. I also don't wear lipstick... practically at all. But I love this! The formula is the least-drying out of any lipstick I've tried, especially if I use a clear balm underneath (and my lips are like, notoriously dry year round). The color is beautiful and long lasting (I ate noodles and it was still there, I'm very, very impressed) and it layers really, really well for building up the intensity. I plan on wearing it mostly as a "stain" type of color for everyday. If I put on a sheer coat and then blot, it melds into a great MLBB shade and really stays put.

Note on the color: this is described as a red-toned plum on the website. I'd say that that's fairly accurate. It's definitely on the red side of the spectrum, in any case. I basically asked the lady at the counter for a color close to the sweater I was wearing, which is a muted raspberry shade. On my lips, it looks like a sophisticated deep pink/berry shade. But it definitely isn't the blue-toned plum that I went in looking for. I'm Asian with slightly tanned skin (Sandy Medium with a bit of Medium Tan from Everyday Minerals), if that helps.

I would definitely buy this again, and I think I'm gonna go back to see how Hang Up looks on me. =)

Its a nice fall/winter color...however something seems a little "off" about it on me. I think its just too brown on me. It's not the *worst* color, however I think i will wear it on the rare occasion i want something a bit more vampy than my usual reddish pinky lippies. I do however adore the texture/feel of these. They are very moisturizing and glossy...fantastic. I hope they never get rid of these!! I also have brave red and modesty.
