I am a brunette and under artificial bathroom lighting this looked great. I then saw myself in dressing room lighting later in the day, and my brows had a very pronounced auburn/reddish hue. This is a good product, just an unusual color. I won't be able to use it unless I mix it with something else. Good thing it was cheap. No repurchase, but not tossing in the bin yet either.

I've had this brow powder in mink brown and taupe. I much prefer the soft brown. The taupe makes me eyebrows appear reddish. My eyebrows are slightly darker then my natural hair color. If they made a color that was in between taupe and mink brown I think that would be perfect for my brows. I find though that using a slightly darker color it makes me use a softer hand and my eyebrows look better. I don't have a lot of eyebrow hairs and I find that pencils make my eyebrows look fake. I like to slightly fill them in with this and then spray a Qtip or my finger tip with light hold hairspray to set my brows

This is a really nice eyebrow powder. It compliments my eyebrows perfectly, and it has decent staying power. It reminds me of embark, by MAC.

I really love this! I've had my little pot of this brow powder for almost a year using it pretty much everyday and have only made the smallest dent in it. The colour matches my hair colour exactly and doesn't come off looking too harsh on me. Very smooth, pigmented and it doesn't smudge (I don't even set it with a brow gel). Can't find anything bad about this product. I use my own angled brush since the brush that comes with it doesn't do a very good job. You only need a small amount to get the job done.

I'm rating this lower because of a couple things: First, the powder has very deceptive red undertones. When you look at the packaged product it doesn't seem like it would be particularly red, but once applied they become much more prominent.
Second, while the powder is pretty good quality, but the brush that is included is awful. I definitely would recommend that you use your own brushes.

I have this in the medium brown, and the compact has the brush inside it (not separate like the one pictured). I think it is a pretty good product, it wears well. If you are thinking about trying it, go for it.

I love this product! I have used SO many eyebrow products over the last few years, from powders, to waxes. This is the ONLY one that I have found that matches my hair color to a T! I like powders better, because they look more natural, and you can blend them a lot easier. My eyebrows finally look natural and great! Will continue buying this product forever and ever!

Unfortunately this did not work for me. It was too light for my black hair and olive skin. I am an NC42 for reference. But the packaging is cute and the price is cheap.

love it, love it, love it. my siblings both have very dark, defined eyebrows but mine are very light and sparse. due to the sparseness dying them and using a gel doesn't get the job done. this powder is perfect and lasts all day. when my hair isn't pink or purple it's usually dark brown, so the mink brown is a good match. the brush it comes with can be worked with, but i actually use a brish designed fro cream eyeliner. it's also very cheap. i'll porbably be using it for a long, long time.

Prior to trying this I was using Smashbox Brow Tech in Soft Brown. Although I have black hair I find the Brunette version too harsh. So when they came out with Soft Brown I was hooked to the colour but not the price tag. I saw Ardell's Brow Defining Powder in the drugstore and thought it looked close to the Smashbox Soft Brown so for $6.99 CDN I thought it was worth a try.
I have to say I am extremely happy with this product. The colour is just like the smashbox brow tech Soft Brown and you get twice as much product for a fraction of the cost. There is no wax but I didn't really use that with the brow tech so I can't say I miss it. The consistancy is perfect, doesn't flake or smudge. It stays put till I wash it off at night and best of all my brows look natural, just fuller. I am forever hooked with this product.

I really liked this product at first bc it introduced me to "the world" of brow shadow but.. I realized I needed something more ashy colored. I have thin medium-dark brown hair, that's somewhat blonde or ashy. "Natural brown" maybe..
I can end up looking very scary if I wear my eyebrows too heavy.
I had to find an eyeshadow that's medium brown to an almost green tone. But that's me. The one I found was some matte eyeshadow by physicians formula.
but this stuff isn't bad, if you have darker or thicker hair than me!

OK, I gave Wet N Wild Ultimate Brow kit a chance. I gave it many chances and it does not compare to this wonderful brow powder. I have used Brow Defining powder for YEARS !! and why I take a chance to leave it, ?? I dont know. I ALWAYS, go back to this product. In one word or two.... IT IS THE BEST !!; I found with other products being way to dark for my brows. Yes I have dark hair, but, not "black"- This product in mink brown is the best color!! Not too dark, not too light, kinda gives a slight hi light brown effect because it is not a matt blackish shade, more blended brown color. I love it !! I cannot say enough about this product. Its at Walgreens by the implements, makeup brushes, eyelash curlers, nail clippers. Its in a small round black pot, nice simple package and its does it trick. It last forever too. My tip.- moisten your hard stiff angled brush then dip in pot, tap off and apply short strokes to your brows- Im telling you its awesome. Defines and shapes my brows beautifully and it does not bleed or smear.
Im sorry for leaving ths product, but, I promise to stay with it forever. Its soo worth trying. Way better than "other" drug store brow shadows. This is the one !!!!!!!
PS: Can you tell I really like this item ????

I finally found a brow powder that I love. I have dark eyebrows so this color is perfect. It doesn't smudge or smear at all. It has a dinky little applicator brush that does a decent job but I just wish the packaging was different so that the brush could be kept attached (somehow) to the little container...I know this is tacky, but I've found that the best way to keep both items together is to tape the brush to the bottom of the container this way it's handy every time I'm going to use it (versus fumbling in the bottom of my cosmetics bag) I will definitely repurchase. I may try to find other uses for this ....some of the reviewers have used as eyeliner or crease shadow. Worth a try.

I am blonde, so there's no way I would or could use this product for my brows. But it makes a great powder eyeliner. I moisten the tiny brush that was included and run it across the rich, brown powder. Then I line the outer half of both my top & bottom lids. Works beautifully. No smudging. No nervous, uneven lines. A terrific and versatile product. I also sometimes use it as a deep contour shadow in my upper lid crease. And as if it wasn't cheap enough already, I bought it at half price. A steal!

I always have such a hard time finding brow products without red in them! I have dark brown hair, not black, with slight warm undertones, but not red. Most "Brunette" brow products out there are more auburn than brown. Luckily, this brow powder is not. It is very pigmented; a little goes a long way. I thought it was almost too dark the first time I used it, but I think now it's a pretty good match. However, I don't like how this smudges easily and looks a little bit harsh...I really prefer Benefit BrowZings, but it is too expensive. I used to use Medium, but too many people tell me it makes my brows too brown/red for my hair. I think I will alternate or mix these two products in the meantime. I would not buy this product again just because it seems to last forever and because I think there are better products out there.
