this is my life-saver! i used to use this with the purifying balm - see my other review. this helps clam down skin with pimples/breakouts & helps to maintain the skin if used as a mask/and or together with the purifying balm. had a nasty sever breakout the other day all over my face/eyes/neck and this helped to clear out my skin within 3 days! i swear to god i am guarding the remaining 1/3 tube with my life!!

unfortunately, this has been discontinued! i hope the bloody idoits read this & bring this item back. ohh..please do not discontinue any more of my favourite darphin products!!

I have bought two tubes of this. I have combo skin and I apply this on oily parts of the face ONLY after cleansing before bed. The next day your face is noticeably less oily. However, this doesn't help eliminate blackheads or shrink pores - but it doesn't worsen them either. It is sometimes a bit harsh so may cause dryness to more sensitive skin so I am sometimes reluctant to use this. This is definitely a seasonal product and for oily skin only - only use in summer in humid weather otherwise it is quite unnecessary. Purifying balm in my opinion is milder and more universal. UPDATE: I've realised this only works after an extraction as afterwards, your nose is really raw and this helps mattify and calm the nose area overnight by closing the pores. Putting this on top of blackheads would just be a waste as it can't eliminate them.

HG!!!!!! This product is the best! Keeps my skin clear without being too harsh or drying. I use this every single night and hope they never ever stop making it.

This does work to unblock skin but it STINKS!

I much prefer to use the Purifying Balm on its own.

The packaging of this Lotion is a lot better than the Balm but the smell is such a turnoff.

The Balm leaves your skin feeling soft. This feels like it strips your skin.

Yes!!! AMAZING - This stuff works. I placed it on my nose where I tend to have a lot of small blackheads. Then in the morning I used my scrub, after that usually I use a light wash prior to putting makeup on, when I use this light wash--prior to it drying i can see the small whiteheads still but this morning...Nothing!!! all gone and it has stayed like that all day long!!! My nose is not dry or flaky. It is pretty amazing like it was after I had dermabrasion done , i thought that was the only way to get rid of the blackheads. I have only used it for one day not sure if I will experience any irritation from it. Will keep you updated. I have oily T-Zone and normal skin everywhere else. I gave it three for the packaging since it is runny and it tends to run out of the container.
UPDATE: Be very careful when using this since it can really dry out your skin. I was so excited about the results i kept using it every night and found that my skin started peeling and looking really gross. Stopped using it and moisturized and skin went back to normal. I don't think you should use it like the directions say..ie. a "thick" layer- That seems to really *dry* out your skin and I got good results even with a thin layer.
Update 2 - In the end I just didn't really like using this around my nose because inevitably it would dry it out and make it look awful - i have a pretty oily nose btw...so i will put this up for swap!

this works for the blackheads around my nose, chin and forehead..leave it overnight and use it every day.. i have very oily skin.. so i guess this doesnt dry me out.. this is the only thing that's working for my blackheads!!

I like this product too, but I heard that this specific product as well as a few other products of Darphin has discontinued. Therefore, I am looking for a replacement product of this lotion, if you know a good replacement, please do let me know. In the meantime, I am going to stock up as many as I could.

I have normal/oily combo skin that is very acne-prone; yet I am also sensitive to most benzoyl peroxide products (even the ones I can tolerate leave me a little flushed and red; drugstore ones leave me beet-red). So Darphin's Desincrustant Lotion is a miracle for me: it controls acne while imparting no sensitivity or redness. I use it every other day, in conjunction with other products (BHAs and retinols). Since adding this to my routine my skin has been much clearer than usual. This is definitely another great MUA find.

This is recommended for use on blackheads or problem skin. This can either be used as a mask (leave on for 10mins) or applied thinly on face after Purifying balm and left on overnight.

this works great on blackheads (mine arent that noticeable anymore) and pinples. Whenever I find a nasty pimple coming up, I dab this on. I find the pimple dries up by itself and doesnt leave those nasty bruises on my skin (like it used to previously).

Very highly recommended. Note that there is a strong sulphur smell so people with sensitive skins might want to try samples first.

I was originally told that this product would help eliminate my blackheads and after using it for a long period of time I noticed that it didn't help at all. The smell is not very pleasant and it is an expensive product ($50 CD) which did nothing for me. The packaging also causes it to leak into the lid. If you want something for blackhead/impurity removal I suggest Guerlain Purifying Invigorating Mask, from the first time I used it all blackheads were gone. It is perfect for my sensitive combination skin.

i decided to give it a try after i read all the rave reviews here, but it wasnt as great as i had expected. maybe i had expected too much. my pores on the nose are a bit smaller in the morning after i left the lotion on my face for the night, but the result doesnt last very long. i'm afraid that by using it too often, the skin on my nose will turn flaky. i guess i'll keep using it and see it works in the long term

I would recommend this sulfur-based lotion to those who can't use any chemical treatments for blackheads, especially those with oily, acne-prone skin. It's quite runny and oozes out into the cap, so I keep it upside down in my bathroom cabinet. I use it twice a week after cleansing and toning, and I wake up with a clean and toned face next morning. When I have blackheads on my nose, I apply a thick layer and leave it overnight. The blackheads seem to look smaller in size. Compared to other sulfur products, it has less strong smell. Will repurchase. ($42 for 1.7oz)

Yay, for this- the only thing that really took down the'bumpiness' and redness of a horrenedous acne episode, I tried everything I could get my hands on aspirin/yoghurt mask, vit C stuff, Vit A caps, Aveda's Exfoliant. Clay mask and loads more stuff, but this (combind with Purifying balm). I was getting desperate cos I started a new job yesterday and didn't want to introduce myself looking so bad, but I put it on Sunday night & by monday morning my skin was so much better. So it isn't only for black heads & blocked pores it will work on ,regular acne too.UPDATE: this can be very drying, so you will need to moisturise after,also it reeks,so if you don't mind inhaling it while trying to sleep that's fine, however I prefer lavender

Great stuff! The first time I used this, I was amazed. I bought the full-sized tube after the Neiman's SA raved about it and some MUA-ers recommended I try it. There are some complaints about the tube packaging, but I just store the tube upside down in my skincare mini-crate and I've found that the product doesn't pool in the cap. I use this whenever my skin needs a pick-me-up and apply over Darphin's Purifying Vitaserum. It definitely has a strong smell, but I dab on some Niaouli Aromatic Care under my nose to mask the scent. I've found Darphin products to work better than the medication my derm prescribes, and figure that Darphin's ridiculous price tags are worth the clearer, smoother and radiant skin the products give me.

I use this few times a week (I leave it on for the night, no moisturiser on the T-zone). My skin has really cleared up and become softer. A staple for me!

Like everyone, I like this product ,it works on my big pimples,but it does not on small one:( And it smells little bit bad coz the sulfer.I use it over my pur balm,it is nicer.Anyway I will buy the product again

oh my goodness, i had such a huge reaction with this one time, one side of my face was like a sore rash!! but, i think it was just me over using the product, and mixing it with a moisteriser which had other toxic stuff in it! Sorry guys, but this product didnt work for me.

With this runny consistency, package in a tube is really a bad design. It can be used as a mask or a leave on over night product. As a mask, the result is minimal to none. However, using it as an overnight treatment works pretty well. I have combo congested skin. Most blackheads are on my cheeks. Using 1-2x per week does smooth out my skin a little bit. The result is less comparing to Jan Marini Bioclear lotion but it is a nice natural weaker alternative. Skin doesn't flake after using it but did feel a little bit taut which I need to spray on some SKII treatment essence. Evian spray will work as well.

I'm finally finding this product working on me after like 2 months. It's $43AUD for 50ml in sydney mecca. In a plastic squeeze tube.

Firstly, the consistency is very runny, it's a soft beige color lotion (but not fully liquid). So the product tends to ooze out and u get a whole heap of the lotion in the caps.
Many complained about the scent, i find it bearable, just sulfury type scent.

this didn't really work on my combo-sensitive breaking out skin the first 5 times i tried it, it didn't dry the skin out as such, but i don't think it's got any moisturising properties. (when i use this i skip moisturiser so that's probably why my skin flakes still.)

Finally, i find that it works after i use a generous amount of the lotion (like 2 or 3 pea size), slather over face, (it absorbs quickly), then use some darphin purifying balm that has been spread and warmed between the fingers, and pat on congested areas.

The next morning i get soft and clear skin :) But don't expect this to be an acne treatment, it just works for mildly congested skin with small breakouts and some blackheads.
I don't find it effective as a daily product though, it works best when used like 2 or 3 times a week.
