Firstly I would say this shampoo doesn't give me hair a huge amount of volume as my hair is very fine and straight ! On the other hand it makes my hair really soft and stops my hair looking greasy (which it does very quickly), also I don't think it smells bad like other reviewers have said ! Overall I really like this shampoo but not for the reasons I should.

One of the worst results I've had from drugstore shampoo. Smelled okay (a little sweet), lathered well for a sulfate-free shampoo, made my hair feel smooth when I was in the shower, but as soon as it dried? Filmy, waxy, limp and greasy hair. My entire scalp flaked up (we're talking full-on snowglobe dandruff action!!). Volumizing? No. Greasy, flaky scalp, and frizzy, static-y ends. I'm pretty sure it has contributed to the hairline/jawline breakout that popped up the day after using this as well. Don't waste your money. Even though it was only $10CDN, I'm actually going to try and return it.

I used this Shampoo/Conditioner for the first time today and I really like the way my hair looks after. I was hesitant to try it because of the bad reviews but I got it on sale so I figured what the heck. I have just below shoulder length hair with layers and I was hoping to get some more body. Some of the other products I've been using lately have weighed my hair down and you can't even tell I have layers anymore. I blow dryed and flat ironed after using this and I was using impressed with the volume I got after one use, plus it left my hair soft and shiny. I don't notice a filmy residue as some have mentioned, however I do have a couple complaints: First, the smell could be a lot better for sure! It's not repulsive or anything to me but just not great! And second, it didn't lather up that good which isn't a huge deal since the results after styling were good. Overall, I would recommend giving this product a try
I definitely think it depends on your hair if you will like it. Everybody is different, I like it after the first use, let's see if I continue to feel that way.

I bought this shampoo & conditioner a while back, with high expectations. I tried it for around one or two months only to find that it was completely useless.
It has a sickly scent to it, smells overly perfumed.
It made my hair feel so greasy that I felt like I hadn't washed it in days. I naturally do have oily hair/skin but this just made my existing problem 10x worse.
As for volumising, yeah, failed on that point too.
Will NOT be purchasing again.

I was pleasantly surprised when I bought this. I've always been cautious with volumising shampoos and conditioners because all the ones I've tried have left my hair feeling dry and matted. My hair is pretty long so the ends especially need a good bout of moisture, and having knotted bush hair is a big no no, regardless of how volumised it may be.
When I shampoo my hair with this it produces a really good lather and has a very faint, yet pleasant scent. It actually leaves my hair feeling a lot softer than any of my other shampoos and I haven't noticed any residue. Combined with the conditioner, my hair is left feeling very soft and nourished. If I blow dry my hair it does give it an extra boost, but I usually skip this step. Instead I've noticed that despite how soft it makes my hair feel, this shampoo/conditioner doesn't weigh my hair down in the slightest.
I've given this a 3 out of 5 because it doesn't entirely do what it says on the tin. Okay volume, but really nothing special. It works for me though in terms of making my hair feel lovely and I will definitely repurchase :) The one negative I have about this is the packaging, Whilst I love the red tube shaped bottle, the round flicky lid feels a bit cheap - as if it could snap right off.

Hm, this product is very up in the air for me. Due to a recent illness I lost alot of hair and needed a product to plump up what was left of my already thin limp blonde hair. I bought this and was at first REALLY impressed with the results. I still am, as for as making my hair look and feel thicker. The major issues are as follows. It makes your hair feel...dirty. I used this about 4 times now and the last time I used it in the shower, as I was rinsing I felt like I hadnt even shampooed my hair. It felt greasy and clumpy still. Not the mention, the smell is less than appealing. Its a bit perfumey in a old lady way.
The other con is the thickening only lasts one day, and once you sleep on it it goes away and leaves your hair looking flat and greasy. I dont know about this, and I think I would buy again but with the understanding that its only to be used once a week and only with a clarifying shampoo the next day.

I think this does volumize my hair fairly well, the main problem i have is that it leaves a sticky/greasy film on certain parts of my scalp. maybe i am not rinsing well enough but i've never had this problem with other shampoos, so i think its the shampoo. its kind of gross feeling. it also doesn't lather. i'm not sure whether that's a good thing or bad thing but i like lather. probably won't buy again, due to sticky residue film.

Re-editing this from a "1" to a "4". I retried this the 3rd time after suspecting it broke me out. This time I continued using for a longer period of time. Good volume and no breakout. Gosh, how can it be that I used this 3 times with 3 different results? I don't need to comb through when I use this. The strands don't stick together and I feel there's a lot more bounce and easier to style. Maybe it suits shorter hair cause I've now snipped off about 6 inches of my hair and leave it in a short layered bob.

This did the opposite of what it says on the bottle - instead of volume I had limp, lifeless hair with a greasy residue. I used the Thickening Conditioner too, and it is just appalling. I cannot see this working for any hair type. I had to clarify the next day.

PROS: I almost gave it a two, but I gave it a three because maybe it works for others. It thickened my hair...
CONS: ...but when I read in depth on the bottle, it said it thickened it by opening the shafts of the hair up. That's the last thing I want to happen when I'm trying to get my hair to hold on to color. It also left a slight layer of goop after using it for a week.
ALTERNATES: For H/E, try Sexy Hair's called Big Sexy.

I reveiwed this after using it for 1 week and gave it 5 lippies but here I am now with a more acurate review rating only 2 lippies. The rating dropped due to the results I got after using this regularly for 2 weeks instead on 1 week. Just for the record, I loved this shampoo at first, it gave me real thick feeling hair w/ lots of volume. However, this reminds me of a guy you would date. They start off great and then as time passes they turn out to be a big disappoinment. The big disappointment that came from this shampoo was the buildup! Let me be honest, I feel that this isn't a good shampoo for daily use. The buildup over time was making my hair flat as a pancake. My hair felt like I popped open one of Pam Anderson's boobs and poured it all over my hair. As for the packaging, it is gawdy! Nothing sexy about the word FAT screaming at you. In fact, the SO made fun of it. The product consistency is thick and goopy like maple syrup and eventhough it doesn't have sulfates, it does create a rich lather. To bad because the SAMY fat 0 calorie hair spray, I love, and it's terrific with no buildup.

PROS:
- Does thicken my super fine hair slightly, but results aren't dramatic and don't last longer than a day.
- Cheap
- Sulphate free so doesn't strip the colour from my hair
- Vegan
CONS:
- Smells awful
- Doesn't give long lasting or dramatic results. Infact, no one but myself would probably notice the difference in my hair.
- Consistency is very thick and gloopy, not pleasant to put in your hair, and difficult to rinse.

Gross stuff. Felt like had put crisco in my hair as I was trying to rinse it out. I rinsed and rinsed and still felt a major residue in my hair. While blow drying I couldn't get over that the residue was coating my hands! I had to rinse my hands several times to get the product off so I wouldn't get it back in my hair. Now that I have styled my hair I don't notice any more volume or thickening. What I do notice is the strong scent and it feels like the shampoo is still in my hair. Taking this back to walgreens and will not buy again.

This is the best thickening drug store shampoo I have come across so far! I have very fine hair - but lots of it - and I had been looking for a shampoo that actually thickens my hair, not just volumizes it. This shampoo did the trick! Although the smell takes some getting used to, I found that after blowdrying my hair, it was noticably thicker.
In my following YouTube video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UPy14tA7V2A) I had just used the product - and if you compare how my hair looks in that video to other videos, you might be able to see a difference.
This isn't my HG shampoo (I don't have one as of yet) - but it works well enough for me, especiallty considering the price. =)

I just tried a sample for this shampoo and it smells really nasty, like an "old lady's bouffant" smell from the late 60's/early 70's. It made me gag in the shower. This shampoo also didn't lather up very well at the first shampooing, but on second lather it was okay. Upon rinsing, it made my hair feel a little slimy and hard to rinse. I haven't dried my hair yet, but I wanted to write up my experience before I forgot about it. I pass.
Update: After I dried my hair, I noticed a little bit more volume but nothing to write home about. I still couldn't get over the stench throughout the rest of the day. Double pass.

I was bored of my current shampoos (Biosilk Volumizing, LUSH Trichomania and Alterna LIFE Volume Restore) and was in the drugstore picking up boring stuff like milk and batteries...dangerous combination. I generally don't like drugstore shampoos, but this one promised thicker hair and zero sulfates. I'm not sure where I stand on the sulfates debate; I did really like Paves' sulfate-free shampoo, which is how I justified this purchase. My hair is shoulder-length, straight, normal texture, healthy, and unprocessed. No real issues, though I'm always looking for more fullness and 'oomph'.
I like the bottle design a lot. It's a tall, slim red tube with an unusual flip-top cap (you press a button to make it pop open) and obnoxiously screaming letterface. The scent is indescribable...sorta cologne-like, musky and rather strong. The scent lingered in my hair all day, which displeased me since I don't like it at all.
The shampoo itself is a clear, slightly runny gel and foams up very, very well, forming a thick, creamy lather. But it's really hard to rinse out cleanly. After rinsing my hair a normal amount of time, I found that it still felt 'shampoo-y', really coated and almost greasy. I had to rinse it for about five minutes more before i got it feeling clean enough. This concerned me since my hair can go flat really easily. I skipped conditioner because I didn't want to be a greaseball that day.
When my hair (air) dried, it felt very smooth, with some sort of slight residue that came off on my hands. I suppose that's the proteins and starches they load this shampoo up with. It's almost the feeling you get from a silicone-heavy shampoo like Pantene. I dislike the weird residue and have found that my hair looks the same after I use this shampoo (which isn't a bad thing, but it also means the 'poo doesn't live up to its promises). I'm afraid of build-up and I hate the fragrance too so I'll pass on a repurchase.
