Make sure you splash your face with a bit of water first so the product foams. You don’t need too much of the product either.
Likes:
- Gentle, light foam
- Clean – squeaky clean.
- Rinses off easily
- Effect – soft, smooth, matte skin after use.
- Scent – clean, light. Doesn’t taste bad either, for those times I accidently get it in my mouth :X
- Packaging – square, matte bottle with pump. This really doesn’t have anything to do with the product content itself. Though, I might have to edit my review if I have trouble getting the remaining product out.

Dislikes:
Makeup Removal - Not a dislike, more of a “con,” but definitely follow up with their toner (or any other toner) to clean up any residue left from heavy makeup.

I started out using this as a regular day & nighttime face cleanser, but converted to using oil cleansers at night instead. I’m lazy and I like the idea of only splashing my face with water once to rinse, rather than to lather and rinse. I also feel like oil cleansers work well for me when I have to remove heavy makeup. I still use this with my Clairsonic. I’m running low, so I have to debate if I want to re-purchase or not. Lots of good things about it. I believe this runs around $20-25, which isn’t bad for how long it lasted me.

I loved the Red Rice Cleanser when it was still in stores- it was the best element of the whole Red Rice line. As usual, L'Occitane decided to discontinue one of it's best products and replace it with something else (in this case, the Angelica line, which does not address the same skin issues). $20 for 6.7 fl. oz. may seem hefty, but I am acne-prone and I noticed a difference in number of breakouts and the texture of my skin. Unlike other oily-skin cleansers, this cleanser did not dry out my skin or irritate it. You only needed a modest amount of product for your entire face and it was quite effective at removing makeup as well. If this product were still in store, I imagine that it would be a bestseller.

I bought the travel size for a recent vacation and loved it!! It leaves my uber-oily face matte for much longer than other cleansers. It also leaves the face incredibly soft and smooth. The smell is wonderful!! I went ahead and ordered the regular size off ebay. As much as I love my LRP Effaclar foaming cleanser, I've decided that this one is perfect for summer. I can see it being a bit drying for winter though. Sucks that it is soo pricey!!

I got this cleanser free when I brought the rice face moisturiser and I love the moisturiser but when you use it after the cleanser it's too dry for oily skin! I even did on its own it can dry you out and after using I tend to use a good moisturiser to put some oil back into my skin! I find that using this also made my skin more oily as it was trying to recover natural oils this cleanser had removed.

A "good job" product for combination to very oily skin. My skin is extremely oily with acne, blackheads and spots. Following Foaming Rice Cleanser, I'm using Purifying Rice Toner and Ultra Matte Face Fluid. After 2 years uses, my skin has been clearly improved: reduce oily, acne, blackheads and spots are dimmed and disappeared. Due to the effectiveness on my face, now, I'm using even for my back - same problems as my face skin.

This product smelled kind of pleasant, but felt soapy, like a cheap, harsh ordinary hand soap. It dried out my dry skin and made it feel taut instantly afterwards. I've tried cleansers in Japan about 1/4 of this price that were actually decent. Gave it to my husband, who has oily skin; he actually likes it. Will not repurchase.

Great product!!! controls brightness in my face. I tend to have a bit of acne and i can't tell you that it will control it... but after using very harsh chemicals in my face, this product is very refreshing!!!!!!!! would like to buy the mask and the hole package... good stuff.

Great product! It made my face clear right after the first use. My face doesn't have red and dry patches anymore. It made my pores smaller. In my opinion this is the best cleanser I ever tried BUT it is way too expensive for me so I am not sure I will repurchase.

Got this maybe a month and a half ago, in the travel size for $8 cdn. I did read the reviews so I peeled off the paper label to prevent it from damage. I enjoy it, does make my face matte, doesn't break me out. Removes my makeup well and makes my skin feel fresh. Its not so much for acne prevention, I do get the occasional pimple, but this didnt add or prevent anything. The smell is pleasent. I tried this bc I read its really good for mattifying an oily face, but it doesnt keep my face matte for long on its own. I definitely would repurchase, but the full size is pricey $25 or so? And the little travel size I'm maybe 1/5 thru, it lasts awhile! U have to use this in conjuction with the toner for full results obviously. For some reason the toner I'm halfway thru. But I find toners go faster than the cleansers.

This is one of the few cleansers that don't irritate my sensitive skin. It's gentle but still gets rid of makeup and oil. I like the way it makes my skin feel however it doesn't do much for breakouts. Not necessarily in clearing them but in preventing them. I may have to switch to something geared more toward acne but for now, I'm standing by this one.

I've gone through 2 bottles of this cleanser so far. It definitely is meant for oily/combination skin. If you have dry skin this is not the cleanser for you.

I have combination acne-prone skin. This cleanser really helped me in the summer months when used with my Clarisonic. It definitely creates enough foam and leave your face feeling clean and fresh. However, with my cheeks being dry compared to my oily T-zone I had to move to a gentler and less drying formula for the winter.

I believe the key to having healthy skin is switching your skincare product as the seasons change since the weather really affects the condition of your skin. I know I definitely am more oily in the summer as opposed to the harsh east coast winter.

This is marketed towards combination to oily skin but I think it's actually for oilier skin as it leaves my face pretty tight. Still, it's a refreshing cleanser that controls oil and I can feel that my skin breathes after using this. I wouldn't buy this again because it doesn't suit my needs well enough to justify the price. I have switched to oil cleansing recently and use this in my second round of cleansing to remove the extra oil from my face. It works pretty well for that purpose - but actually anything does after some healing oils.

I buy this product repeatedly, it is the only thing that works for my indecisive skin. As soon as I started using it, my whole face cleared up and is now oh so soft. It's really calming and removes every trace of makeup without being drying. HG for sure!!!

Does what it does, cleans and reduces oiliness for me.
The best thing I like about this cleanser is that it doesn't irritate my skin after washing nor does it leave my face feeling rubbery like other cleansers that seem to be too strong for me.
I don't see anything wrong with repurchasing this product. I'm currently on my 2nd bottle.

This stuff really does what it says! It's supposed to help limit oil production, and I think it really works. I used to use oil absorbing sheets everyday on my face, and I'm lucky if I only have to use one at the end of the day, maybe! It's expensive but I love it and won't use anything else now!

I got a travel size of this product and i've used about half of it. So far I like the product. It has a pearly color and a very light pleasant smell. After i wash it off it leaves my skin feeling cleansed but not too dry. Will most likely buy he full size product later on.

This cleanser didn't do much for me. What I mean is, I didnt see a difference in my skin at all, though the plus side is that it didnt dry me out or break me out or anything - it just didnt do anything at all. It didnt help control my oil or breakouts, which I thought it should do because it contains zinc.

Though on the other hand, it took all my makeup off, and it smells amazing. The creamy pearly sort of texture is pleasant too. But I don't think I'll be buying this again, I like the Brightening Immortelle cleanser much nicer and its done more for my skin than this one.

A great cleanser for combination skin - gentle, yet cleanses well and does not leave residue. Skin does not feel tight after it. The pump bottle is convenient and the texture is light and pleasant.
