I purchased this shampoo hoping for a gentle clarifier and did not have a good experience with it. It left my drier at ends, oilier at roots hair feeling tacky and not clarified. I don't use styling products, either, so it should have worked fine. Maybe it's my well water, but for whatever reason it did not lather well, clean well, or rinse well. My husband hated it too.

If you use lots of hair product like gels, mousse, styling cremes, hairspray, etc this is your clarifier. It's sulfate free and will not dry out hair like traditional clarifiers do. I didn't find it cleaned my scalp that effectively but I had tried a new shampoo and the scent was so powerful I tried shampoo after shampoo to get out the scent and nothing worked till I used the Malibu. One wash and the scent was gone! I was so grateful. I would recommend this also if you use a shampoo with lots of silicones - it will remove them from the hair without stripping. A very good clarifier and love the name because it's very true!

This is an effective and gentle sulfate free shampoo. It is my Holy Grail shampoo. It does not dry my fine, curly hair out!!!

I bought this based on a recommendation as a non-color stripping clarifying shampoo. It's a ghetto looking bottle with product whose smell reminds me of some sort of household cleaning product. I don't really care, but it might be something to consider for some. It doesn't dry out my hair like some other shampoos but doesn't make it volumy an bouncy either (usually the case when I clarify). I'm almost out of it and am interested in trying another clarifying shampoo but might go back to this.

Love this clarifying shampoo. It is Sulfate-Free so its great for colored hair. It is meant to remove product buildup and does just that! I used to use Neutrogena Anti-Residue but found it too harsh since I now color my hair with Demi's. This really cleaned my hair well. Gives me the squeaky clean feeling I like from a clarifying shampoo. But this doesnt leave my hair totally dried out like regular clarifiers. It has a clean scent in my opinion and the consistency is a little watery. This is my new HG clarifying shampoo and will def continue to purchase this. Has a pretty short ingredient list as well! Ingredients are...Aqua, Cocoamidopropyl Betaine, Cetyl Betaine, Sodium C14-15 Olefin Sulfonate, Lauramide DEA, Polysorbate 20, Triethanolamine, Polyquaternium-10, Sodium Hydroxymethylglycinate, Disodium EDTA, Parfum, Blue 1
