Does anyone know of an effective substitute for this (unfortunately) discontinued hairspray? Need humidity control and flexible, volumizing hold. I've loved and used it for years.

i have extremely straight hair, which is quite long but i have quite short layers too, so it really needs to be styled well to get volume. i was recommended this hairspray at the salon i go to and although its 9.99 (quite alot!?) it is pretty good, because its flexible which is what i like as i like to have silky smooth looking hair.
i spray loads onto my hair when its still wet, then blowdry upside down, then add some more at the end and scrunch a bit at the top.

My only complaint is that his hairspray is EXPENSIVE! I'm a student and I don't really have the income to buy this often, but when I do it lasts a long time.

This definitely gives my hair a lot of volume without making my hair sticky or heavy. I find that its excellent if you tease (backcomb, whatever you want to call it) your hair a bit. It also has a really inoffensive scent, though I guess it stills has a bit of a chemical affect to it.

My favorite part of this hairspray is that is LASTS. I can style my hair at 7AM and my hair won't need a touch-up until late in the afternoon. What else can I say? I love it.

i got this product as a free sample with a purchase at ulta. it said volumizing hair spray, so i was like yay! it smells pretty bad, but otherwise it really works. it didn't make my hair sticky or really hard, like other hair sprays have. i use it at my roots for volume and tease it a little bit; i like it. i have long, thick, straight hair, so its hard to get a lot of volume, but this product really works!i recommend it. but you do need to cover up the smell..haha <3

This is okay, but I think I don't have the hang of it. My hair is pretty heavy and thick, so it's hard to volumize it. It is however great as a forgiving hairspray. It allows movement and is flexible, not "better not mess up" with every spray. If you really want a harder hold, just spray it closer and layer it on. The twisting cap is great too. But it smells bad. I can tolerate a lot of things even if don't like them, but this stuff actually LINGERS in hair, with the typical smell for all Redken styling products (chemicals at a salon). It has silicones too, but they're fortunately near the end. I added the ingredients above.
