This is the makeup I use in the winter time.My skin gets very dry and flaky.I normally use Estee Lauder double wear foundation;but because my skin gets too dry in the winter time.I use cover girl aquasmooth
in creamy natural. It is a cream to powder finish.I like this better than Bobbi Brown's cream to powder foundation.Cover girl aquasmooth lasts longer than the bobbi brown foundation. This price for this is great 8.00
US$ at the drugstore. I highly recommend.

I wore this in high school for dance competitions where we needed full coverage and great staying power. I loved it then and I had great skin in high school but when I went to cosmetology school I decided I needed more "grown-up" or "professional" makeup so I dabbled in bare minerals and other mineral makeup, various liquid foundations including MAC, Sephora, Clinique, Tarte, etc. I wanted to like tinted moisturizers for the natural look but I disliked the coverage so I tried BB creams (both Asian and American) and I completely forgot about this until I was in Walmart the other day looking for an inexpensive concealer to carry in my purse. I noticed this familiar package and went home to read reviews to see if it seemed as great as I remembered. The reviews backed up my memories and it seemed to be what I wanted all along. I went out and bought it right away. This color is a really good match but the shade range does leave something to be desired. I'm pretty pale (for my standards) with neutral undertones and this was the second darkest shade at Ulta but there are way more colors available online. I also moisturize and use a primer so I can't say anything for those abilities but the finish is build-able and natural and feels very light on the skin. It's fragrance free and oil free so hopefully I won't break out but I'll update if I do. I do want to note that it smells like makeup though. Old-fashioned stage makeup, which reminds me of dance recitals and my mother so it brings back pleasant memories but it's worth mentioning.
UPDATE 5/3/13: I don't plan to repurchase this simply because the company tests on animals. I knew that when I bought it and I thought I would be okay with it "if it worked" but I won't be buying it again. I'm not changing my rating because it really works well as a makeup and didn't cause any breakouts.

I bought this based on the reviews and watching you tube videos. I bought the buff because i have yellow undertones. Its ok, not better than revlon colorstay imo.I think you need to have amazing almost flawless skin for this to work well. I like the way it glides on but the colour has almost a greyish cast and the others would be way too pink. It doesnt cover fully, i still need to conceal and it lasts from morning till mid afternoon. And I still need to blot alot. The first time I wore it alone and it was too shiny, next I wore it with powder but I see alot of flakies. I will keep using for the winter as it is moisturizing. A little blush helps pick up color in my cheeks. I like the packaging too, its easy for touch ups, but I dont think i will repurchase

I tried this foundation due to the numerous positive reviews. I used to use Cover Girl when I was in college and never had an issue with it. In 2002 when the mineral make-up craze began I switched over. Now that the company that I purchase my mineral make-up through discontinued my color I decided to give this foundation a go. I purchased a Sigma F80 brush to use with the cream foundation. The coverage is very good in my opinion and I was easily able to blend it and it does look very natural. It is very creamy and does not feel overly oily.
But... My poor sensitive skin did not like it. I only used it 4 times (with clean tools every time) and I broke out very badly. I think it was because my skin had become used to the minimalist approach with the mineral foundation. I am very bummed. I was hoping to find a drugstore solution to my foundation but this is a total bust. I ended up emailing my mineral make-up company for help with what colors to blend to get the discontinued shade I used to purchase. I have ordered more of my Everyday Minerals.

First the good:
- this is better than the expensive Laura Mercier cream foundation
- blends easily for a cream (I'm pale and the ivory shade works on me)
- feels good on skin (not tacky)
- doesn't look matte or too shiny
- minimizes pores and fine lines, unlike some foundations that bring out lines I didn't know I had
- evens skin tone
For reference, I usually use La Mer TM.
Now the bad:
- you need to use a light hand to avoid getting the foundation caked into pores, which means that using enough to cover obvious discoloration or blemishes could leave you with peau d'orange (orange peel skin).
- it drags on and brings out dry spots (in fairness, I've never found a foundation that doesn't do this to some extent, but this is worse than a liquid foundation - it acts more like a powder and shows you EXACTLY where you need to exfoliate).
- turns powdery and can start to look like makeup and age skin, especially under bright light.
- I hardly ever break out from products, but I had 5 zits the morning after using this
- the packaging is bulky
Notes on contouring makeup technique:
I used ivory and soft honey (for contouring under the cheekbones, sides of nose, top of forehead, and jawline) and was... 80% successful. I blame my technique rather than the product for the somewhat streaky finish of the soft honey. I'd recommend first covering your entire face in the base shade, then blending contour over it. Some artists recommend starting with contour, but this makeup is too slippery for that. When you blend the contour shade, make sure you aren't blending it too aggressively toward the hairline or you could get balled-up foundation residue in your hair. Start with a thin line under cheekbones and blend down, not out.

It's a really good product for my oily skin - I just lightly wipe some of this on and top it with a few pats of Maybelline Fit Me powder (115) and my skin looks absolutely flawless!
On my lighter days, I use BB Cream and some of this as concealer, which works perfectly.
My only complaints are that the packaging is a bit bulky - I would prefer a smaller compact style, and that on my skin it isn't ultra long-lasting without powder. And it is a bit expensive for my budget, but most makeup is pricier in Australia, so I'm rather used to it.

Cover Girl Aqua Smooth foundation in Classic Ivory is one of the best foundations I've ever used. And I've tried just about every formula at every price. I use a foundation brush and it blends beautifully, has great, mostly matte coverage. Yet it doesn't feel like a mask, more like nothing at all. It lasts all day, doesn't turn shiny, but removes easily with soap and water.

Now that I am a broke college student, I needed to switch to drugstore makeup. I used to use Colorstay, but it was too full coverage, and I felt like I was wearing a mask.
This makeup is medium coverage, which is perfect for me. It covers the redness on my chin without a need for concealer. It goes on wet, but it doesn't make you look shiny at all. I don't need powder with this, which is a major plus for me.
The downside for me is that it comes in this giant compact. It doesn't fit in my makeup case. But that's my only complaint so far.
Could possibly be my HG foundation.

I used to use this product in my everyday makeup routine before starting to experiment around with different types of concealers and foundations. Now that i'm looking back, I have no idea why I ever stopped using this product!! This was by far one of the BEST makeup products I have ever used. It has amazing coverage, doesn't get too caked, and doesn't slide off my face due to my oily skin. My next trip to the drugstore will have covergirl aqua smooth makeup on the list!!

I have oily skin that dries out in the winter. I used this last winter and LOVED it. It has great coverage and really made my skin look good. As the weather warmed up and became less dry, I decided that my skin was just too oily for this foundation. However, I was actually looking forward to when I could use this foundation again.
I bought it again this winter, but it seemed to cause terrible breakouts. It took me a while to make the connection, since I didn't have problems last year. It seemed like every time I'd use this, I'd get large, cystic breakouts. When I stopped using it, the breakouts stopped.
Although I love the coverage, I won't be using this anymore. For others with combination/acne-prone skin, it's worth a try, but have another choice just in case.

This is a good light weight but provides coverage, ds cream foundation. Drugstores lack a wide variety of cream foundations, this one is inexpensive and leaves a semi matte finish. I have tried several different sunscreens, moisturizers under and it still doesn't wear as well longevity wise as other cream foundations I have tried. I wish it came in darker colors, they are all very light and even though I'm a very fair olive, in the summer w/self tanner it would be nice to have deeper shades.
I originally bought it because I went on a trip and forgot the one bag that I HAD to have, the one with all my mu and skin care! I know!!! I had my mother ship it to me but I had about 2 days before I'd get the bag and since my companion was my fiance, you guessed it, nary a cream, or concealer between us;)
I ran to the pharmacy but like many now, a lot of my go to products are ones i've ordered online. I have very dry, finicky, sensitive, reactive skin. I kind of grabbed and went and of all the things I snagged that day, this was the true winner. I wore it even after my bag arrived because I liked it so much! I think what stopped me from this remaining an hg was that it can be "slidey" even on my very dry skin, and the limited color range but I keep one or two in my makeup bag (for home) for days when I need to slap some coverage on and go. I liked this under my eyes very much, especially when topped with LM Secret Brightening Powder, which is a miracle product if you're over 40!!!
I just started using some new skin care and plan on giving this a go again as it may last longer that way. I always use this with a dampened sponge, set with powder, then spritz w/water.

I was so disappointed when I tried out this makeup. I was very excited wen I bought it. They don't have my color so it made my face look too white and it has pink undertones in it. I liked the way it looked but unfortunately they don't have my right color :/ the smell was kind of bad though and I used my fingers instead of the sponge. The packaging was kind of bulky too. Sadly I won't be repurchasing again

I have tried hundreds, and I mean HUNDREDS of foundations, powders, liquids, creams, souffles, etc. etc. etc. Department store for up to $50 and drugstore for as little as $3....this is BY FAR THE BEST! I have oily skin, large pores, breakouts, black heads, etc. This goes on so smooth, blends so perfectly, covers so beautifully and it lasts! It's truly amazing. I've been using the same compact everyday for a month and I can't even see the bottom yet. I'm not wasting my money any more, this is it for me.

I highly suggest this if you're scared of using a cream foundation like I was! I just didn't know how a cream foundation would work with my skin texture, I didn't really know how to apply them, and I didn't want to waste my money. But then I just caved and tried this. I have it in classic beige, and it seems to fit my skin color well. It is smooth and soft, not cracky or cakey. The sponge it comes with makes it easy to blend. I use a light powder to help blend it in a little more when i'm done and it all stays put til I get home in the evening! I am very impressed!!

Ok, so I've come back to this after about 7 yrs away using MMU and I have to say I still really love it!!!
Now I'm in my early 30's I need something that gives me more coverage than MMU. I've tried Revlon Colorstay and for me this Covergirl Aqua Smooth is so much better! It's a great consistency - looks creamy/wet-ish in the pack but sets nice and matte( but not chalky). Great for people with combination or oily skin.
I tried applying this with an Ecotools foundation brush, but the sponge it comes with does a better job for me.
I've been out all day sweating in the 32C heat here in Australia and it still looks fabulous 8 hrs later with only a couple of tissue dabs during the day.
The only negative is the odour....it is a little strong to begin with, but I find I get used to it after a while.
It retails here for about $18 AU.

i lost count on how many of these compacts i have purchased over the years..i would be devastated if they ever stopped selling this product. It is the only foundation i have used that covers redness and acne scars and for $7 a pop how can you go wrong? i apply this with a stippling brush, like MAC 130
and set it with my hydrating mineral veil. It's the bets coverage you'll ever find, trust me!!
