This shampoo is not gentle. It contains sodium lauryl sulfate. However, it his a light smell of coconuts. It also makes your hair look healthy. Combined with the detangler, it does not detangle that well.

This is a really good shampoo. It just feels so gentle! The scent is very light (reminds me of licorice? I'm bad with scents). I like the consistency of the shampoo. It is just perfect at getting my hair clean without stripping it! I actually left it at a hotel (which was very sad) so had to get a new one. Really a good shampoo, though.

I think this is as close as I'll ever get to HG shampoo. My scalp is super-sensitive but Shampoo One leaves it calm and unreactive. The smell is fine; coconutty but slightly 'soapy', and doesn't linger. Doesn't get full marks because it isn't hydrating enough, but since it is the only shampoo that doesn't leave my scalp red raw I will definitely repurchase!

This is one of my favorite shampoos. I rotate my shampoos frequently, and I only have about 3 or 4 that I really love, and this is one of them. I love the coconut scent, and I love that its gentle, yet cleans effectively. I have thick, coarse, curly hair, and this is a great shampoo for me, so don't pay any attention to the fact that it says "for fine to medium hair" on the label. I highly recommend this one.

Was just okay. First time use, my hair was light and full of volume. A couple of uses later, my hair had no volume and made my scalp itchy and irritated. I noticed this shampoo does have a lot of great ingredients such as, rosemary, aloe, panthenol, and jojoba. These ingredients are great for your hair (why i rated it a 2 instead of a 1)but...it's packed with silicones, which is a horrible thing for fine and oily hair. If your hair is just normal ( not oily or fine in texture) then this might be for you, but for my fine and oily hair it just made it horrible looking after awhile.

It certainly gets the hair clean. I find I must use a conditioner and some kind of leave in afterward, or I develop noticeable frizz. Overall, I prefer something a bit more moisturizing.
Further Note: I've discovered this shampoo functions well as a clarifier. Better than than the Neutrogena I ran out of, actually. It cleaned my hair of leftover silicone and other products I'd been using, did not fade my color, and left a clean slate for a protein and deep conditioning treatment. It doesn't clean quite as ruthlessly as a "proper" clarifying shampoo, but it didn't leave me with raw, stripped hair either. I've changed my overall rating from 3 to 5.

This shampoo is so perfect for my thin, fine, flat hair. It does a great job of cleaning without overstripping and leaves my hair soft and shiny. I pair it with the volume conditioner. I didn't like the volume shampoo, so this pairing is perfect for me. I also recently starting using Shampoo Two about once a week or every other week just to get all the goop out.

This shampoo is great. It cleans thoroughly, leaves a lovely smell behind and makes my hair manageable. One bottle lasts me quite a while, I like to switch shampoos every day. This is a shampoo I like to use on days when I don't condition, it cleans my hair but keeps it soft. It lathers up nicely and rinses clean, doesn't cause my tresses to be a tangled up mess. A great buy for all hair types.

I had started using this product when I had my short (think men's short), bleached platinum-blonde hair in the Summer of 2012 (in May). I would wash my hair every other day, and while it would leave my hair slightly drier, it was never anything a hair treatment/conditioning couldn't fix (and for anyone that's used the purple toning shampoo, this stuff was MUCH nicer to my hair in comparison). Fast forward to mid July and I buzzed my hair off. After letting it grow till late August/early September I re-continued use of the shampoo.
I got a nice clean from the shampoo with my natural hair. I don't really put my hair through a lot aside from styling it, but even then I didn't have an issue (regardless if my hair was styled with wax, pomade, or hair spray I had no build up left after washing). I like this shampoo- a lot. The smell is of mild coconut (didn't seem to linger), and it left my hair soft, without frizz, and without feeling stripped. The shampoo lathers well, and I feel for the price (I paid ~$10 at my grocery store), it is a pretty good deal. No complaints about the packaging- product does not leak and the design is pleasant (I'm sort of a minimalist so that's probably why, lol), and I did not have any hair breakage/hair loss while using.

I like this shampoo. There isnt a strong smell, it doesn't make your hair fall out like the cheapy garnier type stuff, and it's only $10 a bottle. I have bleached platinum almost mid back length hair and this stuff doesn't dry it out or make it tangly.

This is an okay shampoo, but nothing I would rush out to by again. I felt it was functionary, but noting to feel excited about. Bought it in a gift set at jcp. so I don't feel half as guilty for spending more than it's worth.

Awful! I now know what people say when their hair feels like straw. I used this in conjunction with The Rinse conditioner. I have straight, fine but thick (lots of it) hair and this was just horrible. As soon as I got out of the shower and tried to comb my "just above my shoulder" hair (bob hairstyle) and it was a tangly mess. I would hate to think what someone with longer hair would face. It left my hair dry, parched, and looking/feeling like straw. It was so dull and lackluster. And most importantly, it had a weird feeling, as if something didn't wash out and was just in my hair. Awful. Obviously it works for some, but not me.

This shampoo gives me that nice, basic clean I'm looking for. I picked it up at JCP salon for around $15. I'm trying to teach myself to spend a tad more money on my hair, instead of stooping to a cheap product that can ruin it. The smell of this shampoo is fresh and pretty, sort of like a sweet coconut. It definitely lingers in my hair long after I'm out of the shower. This is the shampoo I use on the days I don't condition. I do conditioning every other day because I have fine, fragile hair and too much conditioner can lead to even more breakage if the shaft gets too flexible. This product gives me the moisture I need to keep my hair manageable. The only downfall for this shampoo is the tangled up mess I get with using it. I have to avoid scrubbing and doing circles when I lather because my hair is just too prone to tangles and the shampoo is rather thin. Other than that, I think it's a great investment!

I like having this as a backup. I like how I hear it cleaning my hair, although when it squeeks, I dont know if its stripping or cleaning my hair..

This made my hair lank and greasy within less than a day. I wash my hair every other day but this made my scalp so itchy that I had to wash everyday, which was weird because it left my hair oddly too clean and dry when I got out of the shower.

This is a great shampoo. Gives my hair bounce and doesn't cause any greasiness. It's gentle enough for my coloured hair and is the best shampoo I've found. My mum loves this too. I alternate occasionally with a coloured shampoo, but even if I don't my hair colour lasts really well and doesn't go brassy (I have blond foils). Will continue to buy.

Had irritated scalp due to using a harsher shampoo. Was sold this product at hair salon... they gave me all the reasons why I should us this - In the back of my mind I'm thinking.. Shampoo is shampoo, but bought it anyway. After a week, I can tell a difference in my scalp. No redness or irritation. This was a 10.00 impulse buy that turned out well.

This is my every day, go-to shampoo. I LOVE the scent and it stays in my hair after I wash it, which is nice. It cleans well. My only complaint is that it's not great for color-treated hair, but I make do.

This is a perfectly acceptable shampoo. I have fine, thick, straight hair. The last 10" or so was bleached at one time; so that part is a bit dry/fragile. I don't use any products in my hair except shampoo, conditioner, and sometimes leave-in conditioner; so, I can't say how good this shampoo might be at removing styling products. I felt like it got my hair clean but it might not be gentle enough for the damaged parts of my hair. If I had all virgin hair I think this would be an excellent shampoo. It lathers well, smells great, and doesn't cost much.

I'm actually on the fence about this shampoo. I adore the scent, light tropical with a hint of coconut but not overly fake. It's very gentle but may be too gentle for my hair, it does not always completely get rid of the residue of the many hair products I am using and if I wash twice with this my hair feels too dry. Lather is ok but it does not lather as much as other shampoos I have used and I found I had to use more of this than I usually use when washing my hair. On the plus side it doesn't feel like it is causing any damage to my hair (as long as I don't wash twice) and my hair feels much softer when wet after shampooing with this than it normally does. I noticed more "flakes" when using this, an issue I never had before. Can't tell if it is dandruff or product build-up. I changed a lot of hair products so it may even be unrelated to this shampoo.
Put as a "would repurchase" for now but I am not 100% that I really would. I am searching for something better but may come back to this.
