I prefer UD naked anyday, the shadows are too powdery and cheap, the palette looks lovely with the tattoo etching but just isn't for me

I've yet to meet a Kat Von D e/s palette I didn't like, and this is no exception. All the colors are very pigmented, smoothly textured, and longwearing. The price is very fair for the amount and quality of the product. The packaging is so luxurious, I love the design! The only reason I give this 4 instead of 5 is I don't think the colors are coordinated as well as they could be. Tequalia (frosty yellow) and Leather (matte brown) are warm neutral shades that are also in the Ludwig palette, but don't fit in nearly as well here. I would've preferred if they put in some more colorful shades in keeping with the theme of the palette. But other than that I'm very happy with this & would recommend it.

This is my favorite product ever. I love love love every single color in this palette. They're amazing. I even use Lucifer to fill in my eyebrows and it stays on all day. Even after a spinning class! :) I hope it never gets discontinued.

First off I heart Kat. Love her makeup, her style, her show love love love.

What I don't love...her makeup line. When I first received this palette as a gift from a gf I was thrilled. The packaging was beautiful and when I opened it, the colors were unreal.

When I went to use these vibrant shadows I found that a lot of the product fell of my brush and wouldn't stick to my eyelid. The run off was unacceptable, and furthermore it took A LOT of application to get anywhere near the desired color and effect. After a few hours of wear, I needed a complete touch up.

Every once in a while I find myself going back to said palette in hopes that maybe this time it will be different, only to be disapointed all over again.

Oh well, still love you Kat :)

I have this palette and Ludwig, which I use interchangeably, though this one far more often. I'm not going to lie, I think I got these as a gift not long after they came out in stores. I haven't used them enough, nor have I the money to replace them.
Anyway, on to the palette. I love the colors in this collection, the yellow "cornsilk" color is kind of terrible, I use it a little as a highlight at the inner corner of my eye, but not really.
I use the purples constantly... I don't remember the names for the individual colors, but the darkest purple the shade next to it are beautiful. The darker one is very glittery, while the next shade down is almost metallic. I use all of the colors often as eyeliner and they glide really well.
The brushes the palettes come with are next to useless. I tried using them for a while and gave up because they're awkward and work for lining at best.
I'm not in love with the packaging because I had both of my pallets sitting flat in my makeup bag. I discovered in Ludwig that the black color broke leaving a nightmare in its wake. It was awful, it was on everything. It's extremely potent, I've never had a black shadow being so dense in color. I noticed after a while, the coating on the package seems to be bubbling, especially where the silver design is. I'm not sure what happened to cause this. I had to take them out of the bag and left them on my desk and realized that the other palette was starting to bubble... There was nothing on it. Oh well, it doesn't effect what's on the inside, its just kind of ugly and weird.
The price isn't bad for what it is, though I wish I could buy the colors individually since I don't need multiple palettes with repeating colors. In this case, I think I have 3 of the same color in both.

The colors in this palette are beautiful and vibrant. You can do so many looks with this. The shadows apply smoothly and blend effortlessly. I do have a problem with fallout and creasing. The creasing is easily taken care of with a good primer. All in all, a great palette!

Really great shadows of purples and blues. More for nightime wear. Pigmented, buttery soft and dream to apply. Quality make up for less. A definite must have. I love this better than some of my Stila and Tarte palettes.

I'm really happy with this, I use it all the time. The colours are very pigmented, and have a silky easy to blend texture. It also seems to crease a lot less than my MAC eye shadows.

I bought this palette because I liked the concept and thought it was cute that it looked like piano keys.

The payoff is okay and it's pretty pigmented but the colors are not very wearable for everyday type of occasions.

Another reason I bought it is because I am a huge fan of smaller brands and I would rather support an up and coming brand vs. a giant corporation. THEN I found out that this isn't really Kat Von D's brand. Sephora owns the brand aka Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessy. I was so disappointed!! It seems whenever I walk into a Sephora now...all the brands are owned by Sephora! I used to enjoy discovering cute new brands...long gone are those days.

I bought this hoping to start using blue eyeshadow, and because I love wearing purple eyeshadow. I thought it would be a home run for me. The quality is really good, though a bit chalky and the black isn't as dark as it could be.

The thing is, I haven't used any of the shades in forever. I used them a lot when I first got it, but I just never use it. The silver, blue, dark purple and dark browns just never call out to me. The most I've used is the light yellow, lighter purple, and "pink", and even then I haven't used them that much. The black I used to set the gel liner on my waterline.

Not the best investment I've ever made.

Moral of the story: If you want to start branching out using new, different colours, find a cheaper "practice product" before hand (NYX, ELF, etc). If you find you like the new colours, then invest in something like this.

I bought this forever ago, probably over a year ago or so. I have just started to hit pan on it and I use it every single day. The colors are all so gorgeous and very very pigmented.
Honestly, It's perfect in every way. Worth every penny. I will definitely buy this again and I'm going to buy some more of her palettes. Get this.

I'm so glad that I finally got this palette. Originally I had asked for it for Christmas but my parents decided to get the Ludwig palette because that's my last name. Ha ha funny joke, guys. I didn't even put the Ludwig palette on my list either so it was a bummer when I didn't receive the palette I asked for. One day at Sephora I saw it and tried it out multiple times before deciding to buy it. It was so popular that I had to dig in one of the drawers to find one (I guess it's quite coveted). I don't regret buying it either because it's by far the best palette I've ever used. It has enough variation in colors that you can do subtle looks and smoky looks all in one palette. The colors all go together and can be used together to create a variety of looks unlike some palettes where it seems like all of the colors were randomly selected and placed in one container. All of the colors flatter me except for the matte brown because it makes my eyes look bloodshot for some reason. Other than that, the rest of the colors are awesome. I'm personally a fan of the purples but I also really like the gray and the blue as well. I'm surprised though that I actually use the matte black. It's a great eyeliner. The brushes are utter crap and I recommend disposing of them at once and investing in some good quality eye shadow brushes (even CVS will do). Other than that, it's worth the cost and the colors literally last for hours. They also go on easily and blend effortlessly so you won't have to worry about having to remove any product because it never goes on too heavy. You can build it easily to whatever intensity you'd like. I've done so many looks with this palette and what's great is, is that I don't have to carry around tons of eye shadows. I have them all in this one case, making my makeup bag a whole lot lighter. This palette is by far the best one there for purples, blues, and cool colors, especially for the quality you're getting with these shadows. It's Kat's best palette by far and it's one I recommend anyone trying. There's something in there for everyone so you won't be disappointed.

Ok so first off i just want to say that i love love LOVE this palette! i use it everyday! the pigment is really great and the colors are just gorgeous! i always wear eyeshadow primer with them so for me they last all day(:
The only thing i can really complain about is the price but if you think about it it's actually a good price because if you get 8 MAC eyeshadows you would be paying over $100!

i bought this palette after seeing a makeup tutorial from Andreas choice on youtube, i really liked her look and made me curious about this brand, it was 10$ off at sephora (24$) so i found it pretty affordable. brushes are useless.. i really like the quality of the shadows, my faves are the purples (sinner, rad purple and galeano) and speed blue. lucifer (black matte) was a bonus as i didnt have any pigmented black shadow before. leather (brown matte) is great for filling my brows.. overall i like this palette, not one to reach for every day but its great for creating awesome dark smokey looks.. this will probably last a very long time, so not sure if i would re-buy this exact palette, but i do want to get kat's other palette.

I love this palette. I have very fair skin, brown eyes and dark (almost black hair). The only color that doesn't look GREAT on me is tequila (cornsilk).

The pigmentation is incredible! A tiny dab goes a long way and stays vibrant. The colors are easy to blend. Because of the wide array of colors in this one palette there are many, many different looks that you can make from just this one palette.

The packaging is great, I have no complaints there at all. I honestly haven't tried the brushes that came with the palette, I always just use my own brushes so I can't say anything there.

I will definitely repurchase this product!

I LOVE THIS! I bought this because it had my favorite eyeshadow shades all in one (purple, navy, brown and black) Usually eye palettes are more monochromic (all shades of brown or all shades of purple). This one had it all plus lighter shades of each to create a smokey eye or a lighter more natural look. There is also a very versatile highlighter called tequila. All of these shadows are very pigmented, soft and can blend easily. With a primer, I find that they last all day. My favorite shades are Leather (matte brown), Lucifer (matte black), and the dark purple (forgot the name?). The darker shades shades are matte while the lighter shades are shimmery which I think is perfect because I usually put on a lot of the darker shades so I don't want to be the queen of sparkles. Anyway, I would recommend getting this palette...you can create so many looks with these colors! You won't be disappointed.

Gorgeous gorgeous gorgeous! All the colours are pigmented (a bit powdery though), and with the colours in this palette you could do a blue look, a purple look, a light green look, and a natural brown look. Or any combination of the above, and the packaging is the real reason why this palette is so amazing. The silver rose pattern and the black is just so beautiful! The big mirror is great too, although the small eyeshadow applicator things really are useless. They are way too slim and way too stiff to apply eyeshadow well.

The packaging of this product is awesome and very creative! The actual palette is very durable for travel and this palette offers a wide array of choices to choose from from smokey eyes to basic everyday looks that are work appropriate!

I really like the quality of Kat Von D makeup and would buy another palette (possible the pinks and beige one) soon!

I marked "Yes" on the re-purchase, but it's really a maybe, since e/s palletes lasts so long (for me at least). My DH bought me the Ludwig pallete about a year ago and recently, Beethoven. Even though I find the texture a bit difficult to work with I'm really amazed by the lasting power even w/o eye primer. My eyelids are not too oily and I apply these shadows at 6:00am and by 9:00pm the rest of my m/u has faded gradually, but not my e/s. Gorgeous, wearable shades that motivates me to be creative. Overall, I love these (toss the little brushes and use your own though).

Bought this at Sephora and returned it.
I lmade the mistake of not swatching before I bought it - the sales associate assured me the pigmentation was good and I liked the colours.
So I got it home and I was playing with it and discovered that the glitter fallout was the worst I've ever seen and the colour payoff wasn't good enough to allow for the chalky texture. It practically fell of the brush.
