I love this perfume. It's the most feminine perfume I have ever used.
Strong and warm, gentle and sweet, this is my vision of this Gucci perfume. This is my third time buying it. Last time I found it on FeelingSexy.com.au on a really cheap price, and I couldn't stand not buying it again.
I recommend it to all the women and girls. It's perfect for any occasions, night and day.

This is an extremely sophisticated scent and it is not for those who like only florals. this is well balanced and at the same time smells very clean. it is very similiar to Coco Noir but much more of chypre and not as sweet and powdery as CN. It is a perfume you put on when you won't take no for an answer from a man. Believe me, they won't say no.

This scent is very sophisticated. It's quite potent, so a little bit does go a very long way.
One of Gucci's heavier scents, I'd recommend it for night use or for the winter months.
I'm not the biggest fan of the packaging which is a bit dull, but that said, it is quite classy and understated.
Overall, it's something I'd wear on a very formal occasion rather than on a day-to-day basis.

This scent is so sophisticated and something you would expect from the likes of Gucci. I personally, despite only being 18, prefer this things from the usual young, cheaper perfumes. The only downfall is that it does. not. last. And I end up having to re spray now and again.

I really enjoy this perfume. This fragrence says "Hello! I am a confident and sexy woman. I know what I want in life, and exactly how to obtain in it."
To me the Gucci by Gucci woman is sophisticated but wild. Men are driven crazy by her, women admire her. She is ambitious and confident. When I picture her I see a young 25-35) successful, and strikingly radiant career woman - the one all the men ogle at, the reason why the company must hold sexual harassment lectures. But she is so much more than just a pretty face; she is clever and witty. She is driven and passionate.
On first spray, i find Gucci by Gucci a bit harsh and cloying. However, after ten minutes this settles into this beautiful, warm, sweet and sensuous aroma. This fragrance just melts so well into my skin. It becomes musky, but not your grandmother's musky, but rather sexual creature kind of musky. It has the same sophistication as a Gucci bag from the classic line. Really quite lovely.
Note: identical to my review on fragrantica

One of the least pleasing perfumes I've ever come across. I don't like being childish in reviews but only one word sums this up...Bleugghh!

The bottle is frigging awesome, the scent is great! I really wanted to be crazy about this perfume, but I just can't bring myself to rate it a five instead of four. One major problem, it does not have lasting power. Why oh why? I frigging love it, I think it's the way it mixes with my skin. Too bad

I got this for free with my Ulta club points, but I would definitely pay retail price for this. I initially thought I would get Coco Madamemoiselle with my points; my style and taste is more reflective of the Chanel girl. Gucci, in general, is a bit.. tacky for my taste. Don't get me wrong, I thought Tom Ford was brilliant when working as creative director for the brand since he fully embraced the hypersexuality of the brand, but Gucci as a whole is not a brand I typically like.
However, I sampled this by chance when I was deciding what perfume to cash in on at Ulta. I immediately liked it on the sample spritzer.. Slightly sweet to dry down to a warm musky smell. I sprayed it on my skin, walked around the store for a few minutes, and took a whiff. I immediately fell in love! I agree it does smell like Narciso Rodriguez, but much more complex. It is a very interesting perfume on me. Dries down to be fainting sweet, but much more mature and "grown up" than I usually go for in a perfume. Again, I am very surprised because I dislike all other Gucci fragrances and generally don't like their accessories or clothing lines (or their image as a whole!)
Perfumes I typically like are hyper-feminine perfumes.. Flowerbomb and Tocca Colette being my all-time favorites and this is definitely a departure from that. Still sweet, but as previously stated much more smokey.

A fantastic scent, has strong undertones of vanilla, pear without being sweet, musk without smelling old-lady and patchouli (the good type, not the overly floral synthetic type). Best moments are the top notes but still a great scent. And i love the ads with Freja. Hot.

Gucci by Gucci eau de parfum straddles two fragrances I know very well – Tom Ford Black Orchid and Narciso Rodriguez eau de toilette. The Guava is the most prominent note on first spray, and like Black Orchid has that overripe fleshiness that seems to drip with juice. The pear is less noticeable, but it is there – the fruits meld together in a warm cocktail. Prominent too, is the patchouli base, which whilst somewhat clean, retains an earthiness that is especially nice once you focus on it. The musk seems to cling so closely to the guava it’s quite difficult to spot where one ends and one begins.
Gucci is a sexy, dark scent, but the absence of woodiness makes it more translucent and light than many other sensual and honeyed offerings. The tropical flowers are barely there for me. I suppose they are white and just bulk out the middle. Once the guava has receded, I’m left with a gentle, plummy musk, which has far less sillage than Narciso Rodriguez.
I like this because it’s friendlier than Black Orchid, which whilst being a conversation starter, can be cloying and a bit too loud. Gucci is refined, elegant, modern but pungent enough to have balls. Its sweetness is about right – sweeter than most, but not in the realm of Flowerbomb or Britney Spears’ Fantasy. The bottle is sensational – heavy brown, square glass dressed in gold. It’s very glamorous and 1970s.
On my skin, Gucci does not have the lasting power of Narciso Rodriguez, or Black Orchid, which are tenacious scents. It doesn’t have the throw of Gucci Rush, nor the originality. However, I think fragrances that are as well-behaved as this are thin on the ground. I’ve just thought of another very scent comparable to this – the original Badgley Mischka. I prefer the Gucci, though, which just seems more grown up.
Since it seems to be an amalgamation of existing scents, rather than something completely unique, I couldn’t give it a five-star rating. However, as they say, ‘it is really well done’.
I’m endlessly annoyed by the name, which is difficult to google because of Gucci’s habit of calling all of their fragrances, ‘Gucci’.

I recieved this as a present from my boyfriend, not sure whether I would have bought it myself. It's a nice evening perfume, it may be a little sweet for some people. I'd recommending trying it on your skin before buying as with all perfumes it settles differently on individual skins.

I wanted this scent since I 1st sniffed it in a magazine ad.
Now that I own a bottle, I'm not a huge fan.
85% of my scents are sweet and fruity, I thought this would be a nice change, but when I wear it, it just doesn't......excite me lol.
It's like this cloying, patchuli loaded, leathery scent with some honey undertones. Lasting power is VERY GOOD. it's defenately very different from all the other scents on the market now, but it somehow reminds me expired perfume bottles and grandmas =/
I actually have a mini of this but the version for MEN and i wear it from time to time, it seems to lack that one annoying note that the womens' version has

i absolutely love this fragrance. i'm not good at identifying specific notes in fragrances so i'm not about to try on this one. i only know that i either love it or i hate it. i got mine at bergdorff goodmans upon its' initial release and i adore it. it is strictly a winter scent for me as it is quite strong.
and you know - i get sick of reading the entire grandma perfume comments - if you don't like a fragrance and you're reviewing it - can you not act like an adult and just say you don't like it? why do you have to be such an a$$ about it?
as a matter of fact - when i purchased my bottle of midnight poison on a separate occaison - the first woman who was waiting on me - while we were talking about some of the other perfumes i had, i mentioned that i loved gucci by gucci and she made this face and went "blech, yuck, i hate it - it smells like an old woman it's disgusting"...........very rude., so guess what, she DIDN'T get the sale. i got another person at the counter at neimans' to ring me up and credited HER with the sale.
i would definately re-purchase this one......

I get hairspray notes over a bland modern fruit/floral. It's not a bad scent, but it does nothing on my skin. pass.

Strange scent-with my body chemistry, it starts off as a soft musky honey smell that it's not too sweet or strong, and does a mellow "clean, smokey musk" if that makes any sense. Its not heavy of cloying. Alone it's like skin but better. Clean, alluring skin. BUT when I layer this over my LaVanila Pure Vanilla...wowzers. I LOVE It.
On a quick side note, LaVanila Pure Vanilla is the best vanilla layering piece I have found for anything with patchouli in it. I layer it with so many. This, Niki Taylor's Begin (for sweetness), Dior Hypnotic Poison...just yum
Back to Gucci, I like the brown bottle. I don't think it loos cheap, but like a classy wrapped gift. The cap is a little clumsy but it isnt terrible.
I wouldnt repurchase but might ask for it as a gift.

I have this in the dark brown box, dont know which version it is but I love the smell. I think it's expensive but it's worth every penny to me at least!
I fell in love at first scent. it has a soft musky honey smell that it's not too sweet or strong, and then finishing with a nice floral scent. This is so me. The bottle looks like a liqour bottle, very heavy cap.
I am allergic to certain fragrance's scents, but I I mostly prefer floral over fruit or food. There's some fragrances that as soon as i smell it I start sneezing right away. Some example of scents I like are waterlily, lavendar, freesia, amber, jasmine, vanilla, orchid, and patchouli. Some that I don't like are grapefruit, passion fruit, pear, apple, anis, orange, peach, and strawberry. But usually it depends on how they are mix and the proportion they use.

I tested this at a department store. Just sniffed on a paper. I did not like it from the beginning through the end. It has some bitter smell like a leather or something. I might give a second change on my skin, because the bottle is just GORGEOUS and I want it on my dresser. Also because I got Gucci by Gucci pour homme, which I LOVE, for my husband. I will update my review after trying it on my skin.
UPDATE (4/28/13):
Finally I had a chance to try this on my skin.
Well, I have to say when I sniffed the bottle, again it was terrible bitter leather like smell. But I was courage enough to spray it on my wrists. To my surprise it wasn't bad on my skin. It smelled nice and rich like creamy caramel. I give rating up from 1 lippie to 3 lippie, but probably I wouldn't buy a full size bottle. Oh, but the bottle is so gorgeous.
