I used it as a lip balm. My lips were soft and smooth immediately after applying. However, when it dries, my lips are drier, cracked, hurt and even bleeding. But I didn't throw it because it works well with my elbows.

Wonderful stuff for all the dry bits. But so expensive.
They do a tiny tin and a huge tin. Wish they did a middle size tin!

I'm using small size (8ml) to moisture my lip. It is the best lip care. I apply it before go to bed and when I wake up in the morning, all dead skin in my lip peels off. I just gently clean dead skin in my lip with water and have a smooth lip to use lip color. Additionally, I use Pure Shea Butter any time when don't use lip color. Beside that, I use L'Occitane Angelica Exfoliating Gel to scrub lip twice a week to have a natural pink look and full energy for my lip.

this stuff is a miracle for a lip balm hater like me. I despise lip balms, yet I have dry chapped lips but I hate the waxy, sticky feeling of lip balms. This is non-sticky, non-scented, not overly glossy and very moisturising. This also has no petroleum, which I'm not too concerned about but it's the icing on the cake. I also use it as an eye balm and occasionally all over my face when I'm having an allergy. I have the large tub and I've had it for nine months. Might repurchase the smaller tin. Lovely product, for sure.

EDIT: I love this thing. It's become somewhat an essential in my daily routine. As a lip treatment, this is the best to put before (and after) lip stain. And, I have combination skin. My skin dries out very easily but is also quite oily, I get flaky skin on my cheeks and I would use it to moisturise those flaky parts. I would safely secure this as my holy grail beauty balm. The fact that it would probably last until I get married 10 years from now is an added bonus :)

After reading all these wonderful reviews on MUA, and because I already love the shea butter hand/foot creams, I decided to buy this shea butter. I don't really need to warm it up coz I live in a hot, tropical city. I use it mainly as a lipbalm, foot cream, cuticle cream and most importantly, for my son's atopic dermatitis. It works wonders on those dry, scaly patches, doesn't make them go away totally but really hydrates them for almost the whole day. I bought the small tin to try it out but I think I'll have to buy the big one now. One lippie off for the price.

I wanted to fall in love with this product and use it on my soon-to-be-expanding belly to prepare for the rest of my pregnancy. It has barely any fragrance and once warmed up goes on your skin quite smoothly.

I started using it on my belly twice a day, and by the second day my skin began to itch (something that has never happened with my olive oil). It's almost like the greasy layer sat at the top of the skin and didn't quite penetrate into the skin (if that's possible).

Sadly, I went back to my olive oil (even though it's giving me little bumps) and will continue to look for a better product for my expanding skin.

I now use this at night on my lips and feet. It works very well for that purpose.

Count me in as another fan! Great for chapped lips, cuticles and sore faces. Bought this when traveling (instead of my stand by Weleda Skin Food) when my cheeks were getting raging red and raw from the cold wind and snow and just love it! You do have to warm it up between your hands but once you do just rub gently and your skin feels sooooo much better.

Wonderful Product! Expensive, but totally worth every penny! You know it's fair trade because they tell you just where it's derived from and it's also organic! This is the hands down best Shea butter you can buy! A cheaper alternative is Now shea butter, that is also fair trade-but sadly, not organic. Two things the tin gets kinda creepy after a while (but I think it's recycled and that's why they use it, and secondly it's so natural that it can get very hard. You do need to warm it in your hands sometimes.

This is a must have for anyone struggling with extremely dry lips or any dry areas on your face or body. I repurchased this product so many times because it is so pure and works really well. I also use this to soften my messy eyebrows or dry ends, but there are much more ways how you can use this product. As a former sale assistant at L'Occitane store I can also recommend this product to people with eczema and allergies, of course it won't cure your allergy, but it can help reduce the symptoms.

Bought this as part of a set years ago and didn't like it because it was so hard and couldn't get enough product on my lips so I gave up on it...So recently I'd been having terribly dry winter lips and Carmex and Vaseline did nothing so I thought I'd give it another go. This time, I warmed the tin by putting it in my pocket or rubbing it in my hands. It was so worth it! My lips feel transformed, no more horrible flakiness. They feel smooth and soft again! I disagree with the other reviews that said this has a short shelf life. I have had mine for years and it is fine. The product really works but if you're in a cold climate you need to warm it up first. A must have winter product! Would buy again if I ever ran out. My HG lipbalm.

I was really disappointed in this. I didn't find it moisturising at all. Will be sticking to vaseline in future.

This is the best product I've ever used for my lips! Since I bought it, my lips are never cracked and the soft feeling lasts many hours! I also use it when I go to bed. It's the best I ever had!!!

This product has literally changed my life. I can't believe I lived without it for so long! I have horribly dry elbows year round; cracking and bleeding were pretty common occurances. I tried the shea butter on my elbows in the store and immediately there was a major difference. My elbows didn't even need lotion for about three days afterwards. I finally got my own during the Sephora sale and can now definitely say THIS WORKS. My elbows are soft and have stayed soft. I've also been using this on my severely chapped lips. I usually put it on right before bed and by morning my lips are smooth and soft. I was surprised that it sticks as well as it does to the lips, it doesn't rub or melt off easily. I've had it on for a few hours already and it still feels like I just put it on.

The best thing about this is that it isn't greasy at all. It rubs into the skin completely and after a few minutes you can't even feel it. I'll definitely be buying this again, and again, and again.

Not impressed with this product. I used it as a lip balm, and it didn't provide that much moisture. Besides, it gets too solid during winter time, making it difficult to apply. It also has a short shelf life. The packaging is very cute though, and reasonably useful. All in all, I would not buy this again.

Love it and recommend it to any and everyone. You can't go wrong with this product. It's the best shea butter product I have ever used.

I carry the small tin in my purse and use it on my lips, cuticles, and any dry skin I may have on my face one day. It's only $10 and lasts me around a month if not more, so it is very affordable.

It isn't super thick or greasy like most pure shea butter products. It's also fragrance free, so it doesn't smell bad like unrefined pure shea butter. I particularly love to put it on my lips and nail beds at night.

I really like L'Occitane products and got this thinking it would be great for my dry skin but I was disappointed. It left a dirty feeling film on my skin and didnt seem to sink in or do anything at all, even on my lips.
The price is ridiculous too, even if this was a good product you can still buy very good quality shea butter for a lot less.

This little tin is awesome. Although the lid comes off too easily, I find that this product has a million uses. I use this on my lips at night for super hydration, as well as my awful and dry cuticles. It has totally turned them around so fast. This product is so small and perfect for my purse, I put it on anywhere. I've now gotten my boyfriend addicted as well for his poor cuticles and no complaints yet!

Do wish the packaging was better.

I tried this shea butter before I realized you can buy raw shea butter for a much better price.

But, anyway...

I guess this is pricier because it is very refined to make it smooth instead of grainy and very white compared to more unrefined versions. It also lacks the smoky fragrance you sometimes get with more unrefined versions.

The refined quality of this makes me think that it probably lacks many of the antioxidant properties you get with more raw butter. But I don't have a science lab so I can't prove it.

the itty bitty one is AWESOME! you can put this on ANYTHING and it will give you moisture... cuticle, elbows, lips, under eye, dry patches... and its so small and lasts so long - this will save you space in your purse and $ from having to buy 50 different products.

My skin is fair, very dry and very sensitive and Iove this product! I live in Scandinavia and the climate is terrible - cold and windy :-( this butter works magic for me - when my skin is super dry and sore i put it on my face over the serum for over a night - next morning - smooth and even :-)
also use it as a hand cream and lip treatments over the night.

The package will last for a looong time - i bought mine 6 mnths ago and still more than a half of it left and i use it almost every day. You don't need much of it, just a bit - I use like a cherry size, warm it up in my hands, so that it melts - and pres slightly into my face, neck and the leftovers smooth over my hands. I even put it over some little scratches (not to the open wound!!)

the smell: i love it, to me it smells healthy :-P
