As of today I own nine of E.LF.'s nail polishes and I must say that I love them all!

Pros:
- Extremely affordable price (especially if you're lucky enough to find them on sale.)
- Gorgeous shades, who stay true to the bottle.
- Doesn't chip easily considering the price (they last three to five days without chipping for me, which my more expensive nail polishes do too.)
- The drying time is normal - not fast nor slow.
- Some of the more vibrant shades will only need one coat of polish, if you're a bit careful while you apply it. Amazing!

Cons:
- The shades shown on the website is not how the polish will look in the bottle and on the nails. If you search for swatches before purchasing that problem is easily sold though.
- Sometimes you can be unlucky and get a bad brush, which has hairs sticking out everywhere and overall doesn't feel right. This has only happened to me once though.
- Don't buy the matte topcoat, it'll only mattify your nails 50% of the time.

Overall I really like these polishes and think they're great, if you want a wide range of colours, but don't want to empty your bank account. I'd definitely recommend them!

I LOVE this newly formulated polish!! For reference, I bought Nude, Mango Madness, Flirty Fuschia and Sea Escape. The shades are all true to the bottle and in ONE coat. I love that the new formula is Toluene and Formaldehyde free so there is virtually NO smell while applying or lingering in the air after. The brush is a nice size and holds just the right amount of polish to do a nail at a time with no streaks. I have not encountered slow drying time at all in my experience with this brand- I actually find it to dry a lot faster than other, more expensive ones. The finish, when dry, is nice and shiny, though I do always use a chip free top coat to make it last longer. There are A LOT of shades to choose from, ranging from trendy to classic. This brand and formula is a great way to build a polish "wardrobe" without breaking the bank. I am very pleased and highly recommend this nail polish.

Summation of these polishes: gorgeous pigmented colors, streaky and difficult to apply, chips easily and chips fast. The longest they've gone without chipping is one day; the shortest is 10 minutes after (though considering the other reviews about dry time, I probably didn't wait long enough).

I did buy 3 polishes for 50 cents each at a sale, so you really get what you pay for. Save your money and invest it in a better quality polish.

I love EVERYTHING about my bottle of e.l.f. Copper polish, except the dry time. Seriously SO LONG. I used a quick-dry top coat, and it was still the devil! The top coat had dried, but underneath it was still wet so i got ripples all on my thumb nail :( (at least it's just a thumb nail, right?!). Other than that, I LOVE it. I love the packaging: the cap used to drive me CRAZY until I realized you could just take the square part off! GENIUS! It's like butter london, and I didn't expect that kind of thing out of elf. Also, the formula was excessively smooth and easy to apply! FAVORITE EVER! I think I'll just deal with the dry time in the future cause the color is gorgeous and the application was flawless. Price is okay, you get what you pay for, right?

I love the colors in this nail polish! I like the color Nude the best. Great formula that dries fast and has a shiny finish to it. Pretty colors and an easy to apply brush.

this is far and away the worst nail polish i've ever bought in my life.
it takes FOREVER to dry. literally hours later it was still gummy to the touch. even worse, it started chipping the very next day. they have such a fantastic range of modern, cream-finish colors, it's really a shame the formula is so exceptionally bad!

The price in the UK did double sometime last year. So that was pretty disappointing, seeing that they didn't really improve the formula whatsoever. You still need to apply 3 - 4 coats to make the color opaque enough. And the finish was very rough, one definitely needs a good top coat. Not long lasting, chips rather quickly, dries rather slowly. Would rather buy MUA for cheaper nail polishes

I got some for Christmas and I got 17. When I tried it on it took a lot of layers to get it the color it looked like on the bottle. Also it takes for ever to dry!! Thank god I have a nail dryer!! Its okay, it's not that bad you just have to be very patient with the drying. When my aunt did it it was perfectly fine after a couple of layers of polish but it looked really good. The colors are pretty but the quality kind of sucks!!

I love these polishes! One of my all time favorites! I find the colors pigmented and incredible for the price. They don't chip easily on me and they last an amazing amount of time.

i don't get why it has such bad reviews. it has great colors and it's great pigment on them it doesn't streak easily and there probably not putting two coats on or can't put on nail polish i can't wait to get more.

I got two ELF sets this holiday season from Target. The little polish cube and the 15 piece set, I think. They're not very great to be honest. VERY streaky. Even with a top coat. I usually don't worry too much about streaks because my top coat usually evens it out, but not this time. I've managed to salvage my polish by putting glitter on top of it though. It takes FOREVER to dry, I don't think it would have dried at all without a fast drying top coat. Good shades, poor quality. Good for experimenting though or for base coats mostly, under glitter.

I have never gone out of my way to leave a bad review, but this nail polish is very, very bad. e.l.f. is pretty hit or miss...they have some products I love, and some I don't care for, but this is the first thing of theirs I have tried that is absolutely HORRIBLE.

I ordered it in a couple of colors from the website. 1516 Burgundy (appears it's no longer available) and 1568 Red Velvet (also no longer available).

I finally got around to trying the Burgundy. First time I tried it, I did two coats, but I ran out of time before I got to do a top coat. After two coats, it is still very streaky. It chipped VERY quickly. After a day or two, it looks like it has been on for weeks just without the growth.

Since I didn't do the top coat last time, I thought I'd give it a fair chance and try again. Two coats plus a top coat. They still chipped some by the end of the day, and like crazy after a couple of days. I haven't even been hard on my hands.

I am by NO means a nail polish person. I am fine with cheap polishes. I think the most I spend on a bottle is like $5-6. But even Wet n Wild is like a luxury nail polish compared to this one. Don't waste your $2.00.

Crap. Complete crap. On a whim, I purchased a bottle of cobalt blue flecked with purple and blue glitter polish. It has a snakeskin cap and I believe it's part of the jewel tone collection. It has no name but a few numbers which match the numbers of every other bottle in the collection. The color is beautiful in the bottle. On the nail - the formula is streaky as all hell. To make matters worse, the brush was designed by someone who has obviously never painted a nail or a wall. What a crock of bull! First they short change you on the polish (0.304 oz) and then it's a bitch to get on because the brush is so damn awful. E.L.F. could come up with a nail color that is proclaimed as the 2nd Coming by nail guru's and sell it for 2 bucks and I still wouldn't buy it because the brush is so awful. Oh and coverage - I'll get back to that one when I finish with the 4th bloody coat. Verdict - pass on the E.L.F. and run to the WnW rack - those folks seem to know what they're doing.

i had bought a very light pink i think that's the name.(i threw the bottle away) I didn't like it at all.It was extremely thick and gooey which took forever to dry. I want my polishes to dry fairly quick(am very impatient) the color was beautiful but it just took a long time to dry and it didn't want to deal with that. will not repurchase. (i know that i could have use nail thiner but i didn't have any at that time and i didn't wanted to bother)

E.L.F. nail polish is GARBAGE. It will chip the first day, it is not very thick, and even though it is dirt cheap you're better of investing (if you can call $8 an investment) in some nice O.P.I. or China Glaze or something. Seriously, this stuff is a JOKE.

I am constantly surprised by how many people seem to like this product..i love a ton of elf products but these nail polishes are DEFINITELY a miss. im not hard to please nail polish wise, im happy to paint a few coats if the colours worth it, but i really hate these.

The texture is plastic-y. it feels like im trying to paint plastic or glue onto my nails, very hard to work with and makes the colour really streaky. i dont hsve a problem with the pigmentation, thats fine, but the texture is awful. it also takes a decade to dry. meaning all of the time the colours are smudged because hours later i moved my hand and smudged them. they also claim to be "chip resistant"....hmph. they chipped within a day and im not clumsy with my nails. these are probably the first bad nail polishes ive come across, i adore 99% of the polishes i own thatanrent elf....i have three because i decided to see whether i just had duds, but i dotn like any of them. the packaging is also quite cheap and im glad i didnt pay more than £1.50.

I have a few of these polishes and I have to say that i really like them!
The colour result is true to the bottle and it dries pretty quick.
I`ve tried it with and without a base coat and I find it long lasting eighter way.
The bottle is solid and you get a decent amount of product.
You have to turn the cap a million times, but the polishes dont seem to dry out!
Some of the colours I´ve had for a few years and they`re still in perfect condition:-)

I absolutely recomend this product

in general, i like elf. i'm a long time buyer and have been there before and after(they hiked up their price to $2 and re-formulated to make it better supposedly. before this, it used to be $1). from my personal experience their formula has much improved. i found it to be smoother, quicker drying and more opaque(all tho most still need at least 2 coats to be true to color). i personally change my nail color every 2-3 days so long wearing isn't a must, yet even so i know that with the old formula i would have chips by then...sometimes even with a top coat. the new formula does a little better yet because i don't wear one for more than a few days i can't say how well, exactly. my favorite for every/any manicure is the clear polish. i only have the old formula and i know they also have a 'top coat' now, yet i found this to have the greatest shine(and just $1, can't be beat). i will definitely repurchase. on their site only the new formula is available, yet i've found old-formula polishes in places such as the dollar store, ross, tjmax(i'm sure there's others)...
