This is a great product that has no unhealthy ingredients in it. It makes my hair full and shiny and I have gotten tons of compliments. I will definitely continue to use this along with the conditioner. The price is great and I love that it doesn't dry out or damage my hair. Not a fan of the smell but I didn't buy it for the scent so I can deal with it.

Last Update: While the smell still doesn't bother me....I can now confirm that it is drying out my hair. I also think it's stripping the colour to be honest. Returning this!
Update: started mixing this with Hugo coconut shampoo (got it free and don't like the scent on it's own) and love how it takes down the smell of the apple ginger shampoo. It comes out less intense which makes me enjoy it so much more!
Alright so after reading the reviews below I was a little worried to try this. I originally bought grape thinking it was coconut (don't ask) and when I went back to exchange it, there was no coconut left. There were 2 of these left and a wholeeee bunch of Raspberry so I thought this one was better given there were so few left. Anyway...so I tried it for the first time last night and I'm pretty impressed. The smell isn't as bad as I was expecting based on some of the reviews. It does smell like apple with a kick of ginger and it is kind of masculine as another reviewer mentioned. The smell does linger a bit, but after sleeping on it, it went away. It left my hair feeling surprisingly soft after rinsing which again, wasn't expecting after some of the reviews. I bought it for $7 CAD which I find pretty cheap for the size. A small amount is all you need, it lathers up really nicely. Someone mentioned it being kind of watery, I actually thought the opposite. It was a little thick and I like the way it's packaged because when you near the end, you don't have to fight to get it out. I did find a boost in my fine, flat hair. My hair still looks clean this morning and volumized even after sleeping on it. My hair is pretty fine and straight so my roots get oily really quickly. I try to wash my hair every other day but since I go to the gym regularly I was it daily. I only used it once so I will update after a week or so of using it. All in all, I'd suggest this shampoo. Is it my HG? nope. I don't like sticking to one shampoo or conditioner because I get super bored of the scent so I can't imagine I'd ever have a HG shampoo. I would repurchase this brand in a different scent as of right now..

At first I tried the Italian Grape shampoo as it was on sale at my local grocery store. It smelled great and washed well, but I noticed my fine hair needed more. So I looked online and found this volumizing version. After the first few uses, I noticed my hair felt lighter so I kept on using it, and now after about 1 month of use my hair is fluffier and fuller. People have noticed the difference too! This is a great shampoo at a good price for an organic brand. Sure the smell is unusual at first, but I actually like it now and look forward to washing my hair everyday.

This shampoo is okay for my fine hair, which tends to be oilier at the roots and drier at the ends. The jolly rancher apple scent is strong, but I happen to like it. It lathers well & rinses clean without leaving my hair all tangled. The only issue I have with it, is that it's a bit heavy for my fine hair so sometimes I mix some of the lemon tea tree in my palm along with this one. On it's own the lemon one is too drying for me, but mixed with this one the combo makes my hair full & shiny, with minimal tangles or shedding. Overall, I like the shampoos from this line but I find that I have to alternate with different shampoos because they can be a bit drying over time. You can get an 8 ounce tube online for about $5. The body wash is hard to find in stores, but if you like the scents of these shampoos they do have body washes to match & can easily be found online.

I wish I read the reviews on this product prior to purchasing it. I experienced a similar reaction as the reviewers below me- the product made my scalp itch, which quickly became a pealing rash. It was dreadful. I never expected such a terrible reaction from a natural based product. Additionally, the shampoo didn’t make my look healthy and full, instead it dried out my hair after only two washes. I am disappointed with this shampoo.
Happy Shopping.

feel: 0/5. leaves hair rough and crappy.
price: overpriced!
and it's really not as organic as it claims. junk!

I have yet to find an organic hair care line that's any good. I liked the organic hand lotions by Desert Essence so I gave this and the conditioner a try. Nope. Weighed my fine hair down and made my scalp itchy. Pass.

I bought this shampoo because it is organic and sulfate free and because it got good reviews on MUA. It does make my superfine hair fuller but the second day my hair is greasier than usual. After shampooing, it leaves my hair dry and causes 'flyaways'. You do not have to use conditioner with this shampoo, the comb will just glide through your hair. I will continue to use this shampoo for a few more times to see if I get over the adjustment period but if there is no improvement, I will return to my usual shampoo from France.
EDIT: Unfortunately, this shampoo isn't right for me. I used it up to clean my hairbrush & combs. Back to Klorane...

my new HG for shampoo. I have normal, untreated hair. This shampoo smells great! (UPDATE!) This shampoo started to make my hair wired..And it stung my eyes when I used it....It's time to throw this one out! It's such a pity because the good reults lasted such a long time.

This shampoo has a runny, almost watery consistency. However, it did lather well. After my hair was dry, it did not appear at all volumized nor thickened. I even felt that for an organic shampoo, it did leave my otherwise normal hair a bit on the dry side. This was a definite no for me.

I love this stuff! It smells so good and it makes my hair feel awesome! I happened upon it at TJ Max one day ($5 a bottle) and decided to try it and I am so glad I did! Now I just have to find it again... :)

I bought the Apple shampoo and conditioner AND the Lemon shampoo and conditioner at vitacost (dirt cheap, $4.72 each) and tried them both. Both left my hair clean and frizz-free after blow drying. After using very expensive lines such as Kerastase, I am sold on this line. I'm not too keen on the scent, but it's the look of my hair that counts!

Bought this at my grocery store on a whim and I LOVE it! I have fine, slightly wavy hair, and this stuff rocks! I get nice fluffy, full hair that lasts all day long. To me it doesn't smell like green apple OR ginger, though. It kinda smells like pipe tobacco, which isn't a bad thing. Will purchase this again.

I've just recently started using this shampoo and conditioner. It's smells great and leaves my hair soft and manageable. This may be my favorite natural shampoo and condition so far.

This was the first product I tried from the DE Organics line. I was drawn to the ingredients list. I love love love this shampoo! I don't need conditioner after it, and I have always needed *something* after shampooing. My hair doesn't get greasy or weighed down. instead I have thicker, great smelling hair. I was very skeptical of the apple part of the scent, but I ended up loving it. Not over-powering.
A very good, inexpensive shampoo.

I have been using "natural" shampoos and conditioners for a few months now, so when I bought this product my hair had already gone through it's "adjustment" period. I have to say, overall I am very pleased with both the shampoo and its matching conditioner. My hair has a lot of body, volume, etc. I am a bit on the "frugal" side, so, I think it would be great if it were a little more inexpensive, but I would definately buy this again! I only have 1 small issue with the packaging - I don't like the opening on the bottom of the tube - I like it when they are on the top, but just a matter of preference. All and all, I love this product! EDIT: About 2 months ago, I colored my hair with ion color, and it damaged the daylights out of my hair. After a pro highlight/lowlight, my hair was still extremely hard to comb out after washing it, was somewhat damaged and very, very dry. I decided to go back to this after trying everything, and my hair looks great again, after ONE use! It feels soft, is bouncy and is even shiny. I don't know why I stopped using this for awhile, but I'm definately not changing again!

I bought this as a much cheaper substitute for my Pureology shampoos. At first I really liked this shampoo. I love the smell and the fact that it is SLS and paraben free. The texture is runny, almost as thin as water, and you don't have to use much to get good lather. HOWEVER, after a few weeks of using only this shampoo, my dandruff flared up and I noticed build-up weighing my hair down. My hair is thin, color-treated, and dry. I don't think this actually removes oils very well, even though my hair looks and feels great after washing. I also noticed my haircolor faded while using it. All said, I still enjoy this shampoo and will continue using it along with other shampoos to avoid buildup and dandruff.

Overall rating: I was searching for an SLS-free shampoo and matching conditioner and actually read about the shampoo first on www.vitacost.com. The shampoo had good reviews on that site, so I bought it. I had read on the Hair Board that there is a period of adjustment when using an SLS-free hair product, and they were right. At first I used the shampoo alone a few times, and it made my fine, thin hair flat and full of static. I tried it a few more times and voila! My hair was light, full, and fluffy, even without blow-drying, so I guess that reflects the "adjustment period." I was so pleased that I bought the conditioner at a local health-food store and have been very happy with its performance as well. The shampoo alone works well for my hair type, but I figure it doesn't hurt to use the conditioner, too. The apple scent is very light, and my nose doesn't really detect any ginger, although that ingredient may still affect the good overall results.
Price: Dirt cheap at about $7 for a large tube.
Packaging: Standard flip-top tube, which stands upright on end.
