It might be too early to review this as I only got this 3 days ago...but I really love this cleanser!! It's a foam pump dispenser but the foam that comes out isn't that weird hand soap foam, it actually creates a nice rich and creamy lather when you start applying it in circular motions. The scent is pretty non existent, definatley soapy but does not overwhelm. It takes off your makeup like a dream, mascara, eyeliner, I use it over my eyes and no problems, its pretty gentle, although I do feel a tiny tiny amount of tightness long after I patted my face with a towel, but if you use moisturizer after, your good! Love this, will report if anything adverse happens down the road.

I just want to address a comment made below regarding the Lavender Extract (LE) in this product. It certainly made me hesitate, despite the really great reviews for this product, so I looked into this a little further. While it is true that LE (or rather, linalool acid, a component of the LE) can be considered cytotoxic, this was found to be an issue in synthetic linalool acid, NOT naturally occurring linalool acid, as would be found in this product (since it specifically says the LE is certified organic, and LE is not an approved additive which can be listed on a certified organic product despite being synthetic).
SO, having said all of that, I really shouldn't rate it because I haven't tried it. BUT, I wanted to share the information I found regarding this product's ingredients... there is no reason to pass it by due to concerns over the LE ingredient. I will update after trying to see if the awesome ingredients actually do translate into awesome results for my skin. :) Hope this helps!

I was looking for a cheaper replacement for the Avene Cleanance Cleanser for oily skin, and it was important for me that it didn't include SLS or oils in it. After reading the reviews of this product here, I decided to give it a try because I loved the natural and organics ingredients and the price. I've been using it for one month now and I like it better than the Avene one. It has a silky texture, you only need a very small amount to clean face and neck, the scent is very soothing, and it leaves your skin very soft and calm. And the most important thing: it doesnt' cause breakouts, unlike cleansers with SLS.
I pair it with the serum from the same line, and my oily skin has never been better. Clean, soft, moisturized and matte all day long.
The price is great. I bought it on iHerb.com for 6.52$ (7 oz.) If you use the code LOP266 at checkout, you will save 5$ on your first order.

I looked high and low for a gentle natural foaming cleanser that was also inexpensive. I refuse to pay a fortune for soap! This was exactly what I was looking for. Doesnt interfere with my natural oil balance, cleans well, doesnt sting. I use this at night with my Thayer's toner and my face is left clean and moisturized. It's great.

This is a really good face wash that removes all traces of makeup and oil in one wash. I noticed that my skin was tighter, brighter, firmer, and looked extremely healthy while using this, and the moisturizer, religiously. The size and price can't be beat. This is definitely something I keep in my cabinet.

I live in the desert, and I have dry skin but you wouldn't know it. This cleanser is awesome. Takes away the crud, and leaves my natural oils alone.
After washing, my face is soft, not tight, shiny and red like so many other supposedly gentle cleansers leave it.
This even beats out the Origins cleanser I sampled, for way less money.

It sux because I thought I had found my HG cleanser with this. Smells good. Cheap. Organic. Takes off ALL my makeup. Good packaging.
*sigh* But then I learned that lavender oil/extract may be cytotoxic to the skin which means toxic to cells, killing them.
And the 2nd ingredient in this product is LAVENDER EXTRACT!
argghh... there goes my dream of having a HG cleanser

I've only been using this for about a week, but so far, so good! I came here first--as always--before buying it from Vitacost. The price is superb, and the product itself is great! I use it with my Clarisonic brush, and the two of them together get all the make-up. It's gentle, a mild scent, and it doesn't strip your skin. After washing , my face feels soft instead of tight. My skin is in a weird phase...I have dry, flaky patches, breakouts on my chin and sometimes my cheeks, and oily cheeks. My skin has started clearing up since using this. Could just be coincidence, but I have a feeling my skin really likes this. Afterwards, I use Thayer's Rose Witch Hazel as a toner before applying anything else. The two of them together (both HUGE bottles for very little money) are working wonders. :)

I really don't know what is in this bottle but it saved my face. This is a foaming face wash so no work for lather. I just need one pump and it cleanse all the dirt without drying and the smell is very mild and nice. It is really hard to find a face wash for my sensitive and dry but acne prone skin but this take care of everything. It is very mild everyday cleanser so for makeup day I always remove my makeup with grapeseed oil first and then wash with it.

This is a great gentle cleanser that does NOT leave your skin tight. I've only used it in the morning so cant say if its good at removing makeup, even thoug you should always use a makeup remover first such as olive oil. I will update when I try it at night.

This is a very gentle cleanser that can be used frequently. It has a pleasant scent, rinses clean, and leaves my skin soft and hydrated. If you have acne issues it probably won't be as effective for preventing breakouts. I've developed the habit of using this during the day while using the Desert Essence Thoroughly Clean Face Wash (the one with tea tree oil) at night. The duo seems to keep acne at bay without the use of harsh chemical treatments.

Huge thumbs up. In my quest for the perfect foaming facial cleanser for me, this is the 1 (so far). Better than any drugstore brand I've tried. I used to use B&BW foaming liquid hand soap to clean my face & I really like the product but didn't want to use anti-bacterial soaps anymore. I was so surprised to find a quality product like this @ the health food store.
This cleanser has everything I want (almost). Great foaming action that requires no work @ all to lather up, great cleansing ability that's thorough but doesn't dry out my skin, & fabulous anti-aging ingredients that I love (like alpha lipoic acid & superoxide dismutase, not to mention CoQ10). And it's SLS-free. I bought it @ my local Vitamin Shoppe for $10 (comparable to drugstore brand prices, but this bottle is bigger so you get more for your money) & afterward found it online even cheaper. So I know where to get it @ even greater savings next time.
I wish I saved the receipt for the Aveeno cleanser that I bought @ the same time so I could return it. But I didn't. The only thing I don't really like about this product is the scent - not very pretty, but not horrible enough to stop using.

I won't buy this again because it's not a good fit for my very dry skin. However, I give it a high rating because I could see this being excellent for non-dry skin. It foams wonderfully, cleans very well, and has a pleasant scent. As other reviewers have pointed out, it's a great value (esp. if you find it for cheap online) since it'll last for a very, very long time. It washes away cleanly too. However, it left my skin feeling very tight. Perhaps I'll try it out again in the humid summer months and see if it works better for me then...

I adore this cleanser! I bought a bottle because of the glowing reviews here and on iherb.com (where I bought this for a slightly lower price than elsewhere...the site also has very low shipping costs). I was using Rachel Perry's Tangerine Dream cleanser and was pretty happy about it, but it's gotten cold and dry, and my skin was getting painfully flaky and dull. Got this cleanser in order to avoid looking for a new moisturizer (I already use argan and jojoba oil and a rich, simple cream--Desert Essence Essential Daily Moisturizer)
This comes in an unassuming tall cylinder bottle with a cap and the kind of pump that aerates the cleanser so it comes out in a light, creamy froth. I always use an oil cleanser to remove my sunscreen and makeup, then follow up with a foaming cleanser to make sure all the gunk and oil is removed. This does a good job of that withot drying out or irritating my finicky, combination-dry skin. Instead, it's left comfortably clean.
The ingredients list is superb! This cleanser is chock-full of goodies for your skin like CoQ10, herbal extracts, hyaluronic acid, vitamins, etc. It's pH-balanced and smells fantastic (a slightly spicy, honeyed lavender). It's kind of amazing that they can afford to sell this cleanser for the price they charge (between 7 and 10 USD, depending on where you source it). I'm going to stock up in case they come to their senses and raise the price (or go nuts and monkey with the ingredients, AHEM, Jason 'Natural', MyChelle).

I love this cleanser almost as much as BWC's herbal cream cleanser. This is the only foaming cleanser that doesn't dry me out. Not the most heavy duty cleanser but I use an oil cleanser before to get off makeup anyway. Bought it at vitacost.com for super cheap. The greatest thing is that this is totally travel friedly unlike the usual pump top. You just stick the cap on and secure it with some scotch tape and the pump is completely encased.

I actually reviewed this about a year ago and since my review has disappeared, I guess I'll just write a new updated one. I bought my first bottle of this cleanser in March 2007 and just finished that bottle LAST WEEK! I used this every night (except for 1 week traveling) and it lasted me that long. But that's not the best part. The best part is that it is a gentle cleanser that removes every bit of dirt and makeup. I can even use it to take off eye makeup and it doesn't even sting. It leaves my skin feeling clean, soft, and smooth. The new bottle has a different pump that works even better and produces a lighter foam. I just hope that they never stop making this because I can't imagine anything else working as well. I even got my super-picky mom using it. At $5.99 a bottle a Vitacost, you can't go wrong considering you can easily spend more than that on a harsh, drug-store cleanser. For me, this is a lower-priced alternative to the DHC olive oil products.

Finally, after nine years of searching, I have found my HG cleanser!! I absolutely LOVE this cleanser! The ingredient list is great...NO SLS, NO PARABENS, only good stuff. The fragrance is nice, the pump top is super convenient and turns the cleanser into a nice and velvety cleansing foam. It takes off my makeup without a problem. I do not use mascara, so I don't know how well it will work on that. After three and half years of having a hormonal rash on my chin (from a later-in-life pregnancy), this, along with Alba Hawaiian Pineapple scrub (with gently exfoliating Jojoba beads!), and Avalon CoQ10 Toner, my chin is healed!!! Wooohoooo!! I could not be happier with this regimen.

I like to switch around once in a while with my cleansers, and this is one of three that I use. It comes in a pump bottle and is a soft, silky foam that cleans beautifully and rinses easily. My skin is very sensitive, and I have never experienced any dryness or irritation. My skin always looks and feels great when I use this. It retails for $10.00, but I order it from Vitacost because they sell it for $5.99 and shipping is $4.99 no matter how much you buy. Highly recommended.
