I bought this as I needed a good but natural moisturiser. Firstly it is like a gel and I used it on my blemish prone skin. It completely dried my face out and made my dry patches worse. Could it have alcohol in it???? In the end my face was red and dry and blotchy. Very disappointed. Also the tube is awful( mine stopped working so I had to wait and shake the bottle for it to come out of the tiny hole once I got off the pump)

I ended up giving this to my sister. I was really excited to try this product out - it sounded perfect for me and exactly what I was searching for. It took me quite long to get my hands on it, as I couldn't find it in any of the Boots stores close to me.
I thought it was great the first few times I tried it out. It went on smooth and left my face nicely matte. The smell is rather unusual! I'd say 'herbal', yeh, definitely herbal. But I could deal with it. I loved that it said it would help purify my skin, as that's what my congested skin needed at the time.
Unfortunately I stopped liking it so much, and soon it was hidden away in my beauty stash, completely forgotten.
For me, it started to feel a little too drying - I may be oily, but I do like a tiny bit of moisture. There's nothing worse than dehydrated oily skin, y'know when your face is undoubtedly oily, but you can still see flakes here and there. Yep... not pretty. Also, I found it to be slightly irritating. My face got itchy/blotchy on more than one occasion.
It felt like I was applying a primer. If someone repackaged it up as a primer, I'd fully believe that's what it was. Me and primers aren't best buddies. I like the concept of a primer, and boy do I need it to fill in my pores, but I just end up getting more congested.
Luckily my sister really enjoys using it so I'm glad it's not going to waste. She likes it because it lets her apply powder foundation straight after without it catching. It's also got a pump which is great, it's one of those bottles that pushes the product up so you can use every last bit.
I wouldn't buy again, but I think my sister would. In the end it's whatever works for you, and this didn't live up to my expectations.

From the previous reviews, I thought this was going to smell like a swamp or something! Really, the smell isn't so bad (to me it smells very herby/plant-like), and if you're used to using anti-acne skin products, it's nothing at all. I bought this moisturiser to use at night time, as it hasn't got an SPF, and most moisturisers with SPF break me out. The product really seems to have soothed and treated my skin (I've been using it in conjunction with Clearasil Ultra pads and an aspirin mask), as my spots have more or less disappeared after I went through a period of 3 or 4 months of constant moderate-to-bad acne. The gel-texture leaves your skin looking matte, but also feeling smooth, probably due to the dimethicone in it. Some people's acne is exacerbated by dimethicone though, so beware. I do find it a bit drying sometimes, and occasionally I have to put my day cream on over it to get extra moisture. But it is tremendously good value, comes in a good quality pump-package, and most importantly for me right now, hasn't broken me out.

I love this moisturiser. it is totally non-greasy and leaves your skin somehow dewy and matte at the same time. it's a really great base for makeup too. i probably wouldnt recommend this for anyone with very dry or flaky skin, but for someone with combination or oily skin like me this is perfect (especially in the summer). NO breakouts for me either, which is a major selling point as most moisturizers (even oil free) break me out after a few days. LOVE this product.

So it was the packaging and the price that drew me in, as well as the Botanics line, as its all-natural and I have quite sensitive skin.
My combination, sensitive skin is quite difficult to cater for, so I needed something oil-free that wouldn't clog pores, but would also hydrate the dryer areas of my face.
My first criticism would be the smell. I took about a pump-ful into my hand and literally winced. You'd expect something made of plant extracts to smell gorgeous but the smell made me feel ill.
Nevertheless, I tried it on, and at first didn't mind, as it felt as if it was doing something good. About five minutes later, my skin was tight, felt dry, and smelt horrifically. My only praise would be that it didn't irritate my face, but the smell made up for that.
I won't be purchasing this again, but it might be better for those with oily, sensitive skin, and perhaps those who are slightly more tolerant to the smell. If you can test the smell in store, I'd do so before purchasing.

This is quite a good moisturizer. I don't have oily skin, but it is blemish prone and occasionally gets oily on the t zone area. This doesn't irritate my skin, in fact, I think it's quite soothing. I don't use this everyday, just when I'm using a dewier foundation (like MAC face and body!) or if I'm looking a little oily. Hasn't caused any blemishes or irritation. I think it's helping prevent most of my breakouts to be honest.
Not a must have for dry-normal skinned ladies, but if you're oily or combo, I think this would be very good.

I bought this after reading a review elsewhere that said it gave great results for someone who was older but still prone to hormonal breakouts. I've been using it about 2 weeks now and my skin is clear, calm and soft. It is a clear gel which, after it is smoothed on, seems to disappear into a matt finish. It doesn't 'sit' on top of the skin but feels like it has been absorbed. I haven't used moisturiser anywhere but my cheeks for ages but this I use all over and it doesn't make me oily at all. It seems to achieve that rare trick of dealing with breakout prone skin without leaving a tight dry feeling that accentuates fine lines. It claims to be for sensitive/oily/breakout prone skin and it deals with all of those admirably for me. There is a very faint smell which is oddly herby but not unpleasant but I find it goes when the product has been absorbed. Will definately buy again.

I think that there are so many good things to say about this, it is light and absorbs easily yet it is very moisturing and doesn't leave any residue on the skin. It's gel like consistency is great to use as a primer underneath mineral powder, however I do have one problem with this, and it is a bag one - I absolutely, no way, please I'm gonna cry, can't stand the smell of this!! It is soooo weird, but i guess the good outweighs the bad.

so far so good. i had a disappointing experience with Simple's moisturisers so decided to try this. It's really light and absorbs easily. Smells a bit weird but not in a bad way. I'll update once I used it more.

This moisturiser is a clear gel- a couple of pumps does my whole face and nck so great value and packaging ensures no waste.
It leaves skin feeling moist but not greasy, however doesn't prevent skin becoming oily during the day.
It smells....AWFUL! Like balloons- weird I know!
Great value, great performance but the smell is horrible- I have to put some Body Shop Vit E on after just to get rid of smell! Note: it doesn't smell once it is dry.
I have VERY sensitive skin and this doesn't sting or make it red at all- so gentle.
A great product!

A very great product! It's almost like a primer and moisturiser in one! This stuff is great for prepping up your skin for make-up. It's NOT one of them mattifying moisturisers that only leave your oily areas matte but make your dry areas drier! It really does moisturise the whole face! Pretty impressed with this product, the price is seriously dirt cheap and the packaging quality is So friggin' awsome! It comes in a pump so it is quite versatile and non-contaminating! Reccomend it to anyone looking for a great non-greasy, oil-free, matiffying moisturiser! Only reason why I would not repurchase is because there are still other products I want to try out but would still probably buy it again!

This is such a great product! I not expect it would be this good when I purchased it but it really surprise me! The price is excellent and it really does moisurising my skin without making it oily like some other moisturiser. My have acne prone skin and this product improves my skin a bit. Although I still have breakouts sometimes espeicially before my period, my skin condition has improved. I will definately buy it again as it is better than some other way more expensive moisturiser.

Great product!! I've never been a fan of "gel-like" moisturizers but this one really stands out from the rest. It comes in a pump dispenser bottle and you only need 1-2 pumps. It sinks in quickly and has really helped keep my face matt. I have long suffered "oil slick" face issues! but finally a product that works!! Great price too!

I was using the botanics anti ageing moisturiser, however i found it left my skin a little oily. Even though i'm in my 40's a sales assistant suggested it to me as she used it (she was about 20ish). I've got to admit thought i maybe a bit old for this however i love it. It goes on beautifully, does the job, i use avon's face perfector over it (just for the spf factor) as this doesn't have a sun screen built into in. I love the packaging it works really well and i like the smell, the gel is cooling on your face. Just love it

I bought this product after doing some research on how to help my acne prone skin. After all these years I am sad to say it didn't dawn on me that i would need an oil free mositeriser, so I tried this. It comes in a pump dispenser which is handy and hygienic. The smell is a little off putting at first but after a couple of uses you don't noitce it anymore. It is good for sensitive skin and is non pore clogging and contains ingredients that purify the skin and prevent breakouts. I have been using this for 2 weeks and I have had zero breakouts (including right before my period!) so I am really impressed with it! I intend to keep using it so if this changes I will let you know but overall I am massively impressed with this! My skin looks greats and I have had zero new spots which is a first for me, as I usually get at least 5 a week!

I bought this product to mattify my face and provide a good base for make up application. This is a gel like consistency, it comes in a pump dispenser bottle which is very convienient and I like the packaging. As soon as I applied I noticed it made my skin matte and it was a great base. However, my face has become more dry now in some areas and this is too drying on these areas. Great product for oily girls though. Have said I would repurchase as if my skin became more oily I would go back to this product.
