This is a wonderful moisturizer for my very oily and acne prone skin. The description on the bottle doesn't indicate if the lotion is intended for your face, but I can verify that it is definitely suitable for the face. The bottle does indicate that the formula is non-comedogenic. My skin is extremely sensitive and prone to clogged pores and rosacea. This lotion has not aggravated my sensitivities and if anything has helped calm my skin.
I use it only at night and it absorbs into my skin pretty quickly. I don't have to use it again in the morning, which I prefer because my foundation doesn't last as long when I wear moisturizer underneath.
I paid around $11.50 for the 8oz squeezable bottle. The price isn't super cheap but a little goes a long way with this lotion.

My HG moisturiser. When I orginally bought this product I kicked myself as I thought
I had accidently picked up a body moisturiser instead of a face moisturiser. I was broke so I decided to try it anyway and my acne prone dry skin DRINKS this up (In a good way)

I have super dry skin and pretty much anything can break me out, but this moisturiser leaves it plump and super hydrated even on my skins worst days. I use 5% BP on my face for my acne and no other moisturiser keeps my skin so incredible looking as this has. It is non greasy and fast to dry. Light feeling but heavy on moisture which is perfect for my skin. Has never broken me out.

Anyone on the regimen or that has flakey dry skin especially around the eyes should reach for this. I have repurchased 8-9 times and I adore it.

The only con that has been mentioned before as the last bit of the product is harder to get out without squirting it everywhere- so I unscrew the cap and use it that way.

Added plus is you can use it on your body too!

I have very oily, acne prone skin. I think that this lotion has potential and maybe geared more towards people with sensitive dry skin, than sensitive and oily. The consistency is a little thicker than I would have liked, however, it absorbs into the skin well. I will not repurchase this item because, although it did not make me break out, within an few hours I would oil out of my makeup, even with a primer.

Just.. no. I'm far and few among MUA reviewers by saying this, but I just don't understand Cetaphil. Maybe it's because every time I try one of their products, my skin is not moisturized enough/at all, turns red instantly and/or is greasy to the point where I have to tissue half of what I applied back off. This cream, which I bought for my severely parched skin, proves to be the same as the other Cetaphil products. Very slippery consistency when applying (only apply a little!) and leaves your face appearing overly dewy and shiny. You will feel that your skin is hydrated, no doubt, however for me my skin felt hydrated but looked cherry red. My entire nose was red-- not a single speck of natural skin color-- and my cheeks were flushed as if I had severe rosacea! You would think a sensitive skin product such as Cetaphil lotion would yield opposite results. I immediately washed off all of this lotion and went back to my trusty Cerave lotion.

Wanted to love this product as it claims to do great things for dry skin, which I have, however I was allergic. Luckily I tested on my arm before I applied any to my face! Using the original Cetaphil Moisturising Cream instead with no adverse reaction and my skin is looking better and more even every day.
So in short, I didn't like the Daily Advance Ultra Hydrating Lotion, and I won't be buying it again.

I have very sensitive and acne-prone skin, so finding a moisturizer is quite difficult for me. I would always try this product however found that it made my skin overly greasy and shiny, even though it moisturized well. However, recently I've been trying a different method. I put some of the lotion on my palm and I rub the lotion between my hands for a few seconds, and then I apply it to my face. This seems to get rid of all the grease and it has been doing wonders for my skin. My skin is no longer flaky, dry, and this moisturizer does not make me look greasy anymore. I definitely recommend this product for sensitive skin, try playing around with it and see what works for you, but I'm sure it will be a hit!

I have normal to dry skin with acne and I used this on my face and it made it kind of greasy, sticky and almost a weird pink colour. Not that it irritated my skin, it just made my face reddish pink like I was blushing all over. Not a good look. It is very moisturising though, so I think it would be great to use on your hands or body, it might just take a while to absorb into the skin.

I love the packaging, it's very convenient and one pump was even too much for my entire face and neck. Half a pump is an adequate amount, so this product will last a really long time. The bottle is actually quite big so the price is fair.

Because this isn't good on my face, I'll use it on my body. Buy it again, no, because there are other lotions I prefer, but this is a pretty good lotion, especially if you're looking for something super hydrating if you have really dry skin.

This product is hands down the best lotion I have ever used. I know some people on here have said that it's for the body and not the face but I have been using it everywhere and it has worked WONDERS! I have dry sensitive skin that tends to get even worse in the fall/winter time so I was looking for a lotion, specifically for the face, that would get rid of the dry flakey skin that was appearing around my chin and, forehead and eyes. I had been using Nivea Soft cream for my face and as much as I loved that cream, it just wasn't moisturizing enough for my face. I had already heard of the wonders of Cetaphil products on this site and found the reviews for this particular lotion. I decided to trust the reviews and went out and bought this lotion as well as the Cetaphil gentle skin cleanser for better results. After I rubbed the lotion into my face I was really skeptical, it stung and felt REALLY light on my skin, I thought "this will never work." WELL the next morning my dry flakes were GONE! After using this lotion twice a day with the cleanser for the last week my skin feels the best it ever has! I never believed that your skin could actually feel supple but mine DOES! My boyfriend has even noticed and commented on how soft my skin is and he never notices these things. Also, the best this about this lotion, it doesn't break me out. Because I have such sensitive skin, many new products aggravate it and cause really painful pimples that take forever to go away. I haven't noticed any with this cream. You don't even need very much, the cream spreads very nicely over the skin. It feels very light and does not leave a greasy residue. The dry crinkles around my eyes even went away! I feel like I don't even need makeup because it also evened out my skin tone. When I do put on makeup, my foundation looks better on my skin, doesn't cake or clump and stays put. I will continue to use this cream for as long as I live!!

i use this stuff as a face moisturizer morning and night. my face is moisturized and supple, and it sinks in quickly and is not too thick. the daily advance in the tube is my hg and the only cetaphil lotion i will buy. the cream in the tub was unhygienic, and and the regular lotion i have read is comedogenic. no frills moisturizer, not the prettiest thing to keep in the bathroom, but i love it.

I know this is going to sound very strange but I use this on my scalp and it doubles as hair gel for me. I have really bad Eczema on my face and scalp. Whenever I try gel, I get really bad flakey areas on my hairline. I was desparate so I tried it and it works wonders. I have to always keep my hair back due to my job. I can't cover up flakey red skin around my hairline. It is truley embarassing. The beauty of this is....I can also moisturize around my neck and hairline without irritation because it truley is frangrance free. I have tried other lotions that claim to be fragrance free but have a reaction every time. This particular lotion doesn't cause that. I do not like Cetaphil Moisturizers for my body cause they tend to be sticky, but for my hair. This is awesome.

Update: Nevermind, I will stick to my CeraVe. I also found an awesome shampoo/ conditioner that keeps my scalp in line.

Love, love, love this its amazing I'm extremely oily and acne prone and I can honestly have nothing but good things to say about this lotion doesn't break me out, extremely hydrates my oily but dehydrated skin, maibe a bit shinny but I can deal with that unlike the original wich left me supper greasy, not as hydrating and to top it off original one broke me out ... Here's why ... The original contains cetearyl alcohol, and ceteareth-20. Wich are non-comedogenic but when combined together there extreemly comedogenic, the ultra hydrating version only contains one of the two NOT BOTH !!! so if u break out from the original get the ultra hydrating version and you'll see and feel a diference !!!!! Hope I helped

The quality of this product is better (and more natural) than other hydrating lotions out there. I really feel moisturized and hydrated after using it on my dry sensitive skin. Would definitely recommend!

My favorite part is the consistency! On the liquid side, it keeps moisturizing foreverrrr. I had to detract two lippies because... well, it just doesn't absorb! I have very dry skin in the winter, so I applied this before going to bed. I took a shower the next evening... and the lotion was still there! It turned slimy under the water and was generally nasty. But it does moisturize, so I can't complain too much. The price is very low for the amount of lotion you get, which is awesome, and the bottle has a pump! Very hygienic and convenient.
Verdict: Yes, I'd buy this again.

So this product seems to be different from the normal moisturizing creams from cetaphil because it says on it "DailyAdvance Ultra Hydrating" and I sadly ran out of a big bottle of the normal moisturizing cream and the only ones left were these so I had to buy them. Compared to the normal cetaphil lotion the consistency of this lotion is thinner and the feeling of putting this on your face isn't as heavy. It has no scent (maybe a bit but very very light) but overall it is a great moisturizer. This one seems to have more chemicals which is a concern for me but I had no reactions of burning as other people have said. I have really pale sensitive dry skin that's a nightmare with acne and although I'm pretty sure its a body lotion, I only use it only on my face and I'm pretty pleased. I have to say that this one does make me a bit more oilier despite the thinner formula. I like the other cetaphil lotion that's without the "ultra hydrating" stamp on it so I'll be going back to that one because my skin just seems to like it better. This is great for those of you with problem skin that need an all over moisturizer thats light, it kept flakiness and dryness away nicely. I stuck to using this on my body instead tho X).

I got a 3oz tube of this for free, packaged along with facial cleanser. Since the only Cetaphil products I have purchased were facial products, I assumed this was for the face as well. I used it as a night cream for 3 days before reading here that it is meant for use on the body. Oops! It actually was moisturizing and nice on my face, and with the short use, it did not cause any reactions. When I started using it on my body, it had less of a creamy, moist effect, but was still nice. I used the rest of the tube on my legs after shaving. I don't plan to rebuy unless I need an unscented cream (although this does have that generic, nonperfumed scent).

Does what it promises... just a great lotion that's moisturising but feels light is easily absorbed. I've tried lots of more expensive products but this worked better for my skin (aqueous creams are terrible for me), to be honest most times I think skincare should be kept simple!

Updated review:
Several months later, I've moved to Arizona with its extremely dry temperatures and extremely hard water, and this stuff is an absolute godsend. Both the skin on my arms and my face are soft and feel great after applying, and I have not had a repeat of the sudden flare up mentioned below. It'd take a discontinuation or a complete recipe change to pry this lotion from my bathroom shelf.

Despite having mostly oily skin, I found that my foundation and tinted moisturizer would cake up on my extremely dry and flaky cheeks right under my eyes and look awful. After trying (stupidly) to exfoliate like a madwoman, I went to the corner store and picked up a tube of this stuff since I use the cleanser and it's really good. Even though it definitely says body moisturizer, a small amount almost immediately made my cheeks feel better, and three days of using it completely cleared up the problem. I generally only use it on my cheeks and use a different moisturizer for the rest of my face, though a tiny bit of it used over all of my face every few days or so seems to be okay.

I did not give this a 5 for a single scare I had with this moisturizer - I got out of the shower after washing and exfoliating my face, put it on, and suddenly my entire face bloomed bright red and hot, like I'd gotten an instant sunburn! I freaked out and washed it off right away, but the red didn't disappear for a couple hours. It's only done it once in the couple months I have been using it, though, so it might have been a freak accident; I hadn't started using any new products or done anything different.

I use this as my night moisturizer and I've had no problems with breaking out, but I wouldn't recommend it for that unless you're in the later stages of an accutane course or on a retin. I strongly suspect that if I didn't have Retin A .5% continuously keeping my pores unglogged, I'd be breaking out from this.

I bought it when I was in desperate need of healing due to scarring and accutane induced dryness, 'cause it seemed like a better alternative to the petroleum based tub Cetaphil (i am scared of the tub). I have definitely noticed that it has had a theraputic healing effect on my skin--so much so that I'm actually considering using the petroleum based stuff if my skin starts flaking due to retin a. I say use it if you're on a retin or in desperate need of healing, 'cause it really helps.

As I get older, my skin has become a bit dry. I used Nivea bodyproducts for years and I've tried others but usually my skin is dry again before the end of the day. I tried this recently and it does a great job. It applies easily and sinks in and my skin still feels soft at bedtime. It has no scent which is better than some of the cheap scents of other body lotions. A good practical everyday lotion. Excellent value and it works!
