This is the best foundation ever. If it wasn't for these positive reviews I would still be wasting time and money. I was matched to Fresco, the coverage is unbelievable and staying power is very long lasting - trust me ladies, this stuff does not budge. I apply it with a MAC 190 foundation brush and blend it very quickly as it dries in no time. This foundation is quite thick so there's no need to use much. To remove this I use Estee Lauder's 'Take it Away Total Makeup Remover' which works very well with removing all traces of this budge-proof makeup. Such a wonderful foundation...if I could high-five the Estee Lauder crew for creating this sensation I would haha.

This is a favorite of mine. If you're looking for staying power, it will be a fave of yours too. I use 'fresco' with a dusting of the Lucidity loose powder. Hours after putting this on, it looks as fresh as it first did.

i like the coverage and excellent wear time of this foundation. initially, i noticed i was breaking out more, so i started using the Neurogena Makeup Wipes at night before my cleanser, and haven't had any more problems.

I'm on my third bottle and I USED to swear by this foundation. Fantastic coverage for my acne scars but the consistency is too thick and mask like. It dries very quickly and is not easy to spread. I've tried applying with my fingers, a sponge, a damp sponge and a foundation brush. It's sooo thick it settles into wrinkles. I think this foundation makes me look older. Pass.

I just got a sample of this over the weekend. I had purchased the Resilience lift over Christmas and loved it but my oily skin did not :( I previously have used Revlon Color Stay for years but was originally looking for something that would be good for my skin as I am getting older (35) and like taking good care of my skin. So the girl recommended Resilieance Lift. I love the color 1N1 Nude, love how it goes on, love how it looks- for about an hour. Then it gets way too oily, it pools into my pores, and it comes off and looks pretty rough by mid day. So I went to the Estee Lauder store looking for something different and tried the Double Wear. She gave me a sample of Ecru which when I used it all over looks way to yellow on me. But...this foundation is really nice. I think it has better staying power than Colorstay, looks flawless, is thinner than Colorstay and applies over my skin better. I always had to mix Colorstay with moisturizer to thin it a bit and get it to apply better. Double Wear has a very thin consistency, making it easier to apply. So I went and ordered a bottle, however, decided to order it in shell which I pray matches me better than the Ecru. I juts hope it doesn't make me too pale or I may just have to mix my sample of Ecru into it. I am quite pleased with this foundation. I could literally go all day if I wanted and not HAVE to touch up with powder but I generally do so I have a nice matte look all day. But I can go 6 hours easily before doing so and when I do, I get minimal oil on my blotting paper and apply a smidge of MAC's Blot powder. Very happy and will be sticking with this one!

I love this stuff! My mom and I both use this foundation and love it. Yes, it is fun trying other foundations, but both of us have gone back to this and swear by it. Yes, it stays put all day long. I wear this when I golf and I look amazing after 18 holes. You could work out in this stuff and look great after a sweat. No, I have never broken out from this foundation. And it has an SPF 10, which helps. I wear 1C1 Shell 15 and it's perfect on my fair skin. Try it.

I have tried so many foundations, it was like my achilles heal when it came to make up products. I could not find one that I LOVED. I have tried MAC, Prescriptives, Clinique, etc... I finally tried this one and now I can finally stop looking. It makes my skin look flawless and dewy, not too dry and not oily. (My skin is slightly dry but pretty much normal.) I started using it this summer when my t-zone would get a little oily due to the heat and it definitely cut out the mid day shiny-ness that I had to deal with using other foundations. I dont use very much, usually a tiny bit less than a dime sized amount and I mix in Benefit high beam sometimes for a little added dewy-ness and highlighter.

I love this foundation! I am so happy I found it!!

I probably would have purchased this foundation if they had a wider colour selection. Unfortunately the lightest colour is too orange for my skin. I was given a couple of samples to try out, but I had to mix in a lighter foundation to lighten it. For its price I don't feel that I should have to go to the trouble of mixing other foundations in to match my skin colour. I was complimented by a couple of people on my skin while wearing it. It's coverage is slightly too opaque for my liking, but that might be what some people are looking for.

I really like the coverage that Double Wear gives me, but I never use it anymore because it tends to make me break out. However, if I had somewhere where I knew there were going to be a lot of pictures, like a wedding, I would probably whip it out again because it lasts like crazy and will cover absolutely anything. I should also say that I have young, sensitive, acne prone skin, so someone with out those problems who wants a lot of coverage might do really well with this product.

I think this foundation gives wonderful coverage, and a smooth look. However, I would caution against using it everyday. From my experience, the very thing that makes it so long lasting makes it very difficult to remove and potentially pore clogging. If you use this everyday, be sure to use a separate make up remover!

So far this is the best foundation I have tried. I do not have problematic skin, no big scars, just few dark spots, but I like for my face to look like airbrushed. This is the closest I could get to the wanted look. No other foundation had the same coverage ability (maybe Dior sculpt but it was too oily for my combination skin). I keep buying this one over and over. Fresco for winter and Pebble for summer time. The bottle I really do not like. I think it should have at least pump to make it easier. I do like the glass it was made of because I think glass is much more hygienic than plastic. The price is very reasonable, I pay around 35 dollars for it here in Kuwait and it lasts for cca 3 months. I put it on every morning.

Really like it! People keep telling me how young I look and even my son said I looked younger. It covers my acne scars and redness fairly well, matches perfectly (which is hard for me) and brightens my face. I did not like the concealer, but found a mac concealer that covers the two scars that this does not. And it stays on about 8 hours for me. Not HG, but so far the best for me I have found on the market.

I have medium, olive yellow (NC-42) Latina skin. I decided to try this foundation in 3W1 (Tawny). I didn't like it. It turned orange on me. Moreover, it got cakey around my eyes. This isn't a good product for someone with combination skin; especially someone with dry cheeks like me. This would be good for someone who's skin is oily all over. Oh yeah, and did I forget to mention that it's also very hard to blend? I'm returning this stuff tomorrow. It looks like I'm back on the search for my HG foundation.

I was color matched to Fresco, which I would not have chosen for myself by just looking at it, but I think that the EL rep must have known what she was doing because it turned out to be perfect! I had originally asked for a sample of Dusk because it looked most like the color I usually get when buying foundation, but it didn't seem to cover very well or make my skin look very smooth (strange, I know). However when I use the Fresco, my skin looks flawless, and it really does last all day. I have tried Revlon's Color Stay and was not impressed at all. I'm oily in the T-zone, and the Color Stay did what all other foundations tend to do on me--sink in as the day goes on. I'm sticking with Double Wear from now on! Ladies, if it doesn't work well on you or looks "fake", take it back and get a different color. It seems to make a big difference with this foundation.

This a good enough product, but overall I'm not impressed. This foundation does cover well and I like the finish, but I would need to stipple on quite a few layers of it for it to take the place of concealer. I also have incredibly oily skin and hardly any foundation lasts on me, even with powder - most are melted within an hour. I hoped, based on the reviews, that this one would be able to offer me excellent lasting power, something similar to the *old* Revlon ColorStay or my former beloved Almay Amazing Lasting, but it isn't even in the same ballpark. It has better lasting power than most, but it isn't budgeproof or waterproof by any means (regardless if whether or not they advertise it as such). I made the mistake of crying in this (not sobbing up a storm mind you, just a few tears that got away and were quickly and lightly blotted) and while my Almay AL used to hold up to cryfests, this one left tear streaks all down my face, and started melting into my fine lines within 2 hours. On top of that, if you are very, very fair like I am, STAY AWAY from EL! Overall I like the brand, so I have a hard time staying away, but they just do NOT make colors for very fair skinned ladies like myself. The lightest shade in this is somewhat orangey, as I find with most EL shades, and darker than I could ever even achieve with fake tanning. Overall I don't think it's a bad product, but it isn't suited for my needs (lasting power + color choice).

I have this in Ecru. I apply it with the foundation brush, it gives me perfect coverage and gives me the illusion of flawless skin. I usually just dust some translucent powder over it to set and it doesn't budge. It really does last. It wasn't that expensive at £21 from John Lewis. I had this recommended to me initally by a colleague and it made her skin look so good. I am really pleased with it and will definitely repurchase when I run out.
EDIT 12.10.08
I still adore this foundation, I think it is best applied after thoroughly cleansed and moisturised skin then applied with a foundation brush, flawless coverage, doesn't budge all day. My HG foundation.

I dont know what took me so long to try this foundation while being a longtime EL fan. I have been using Lucidity for quite some time now, which Im happy with if I want a natural radiant look. I decided to try Double Wear and it was a good thing I did. Im very fair so their lightest shade Shell matched me well, which was a surprise because most other brands lightest shades are way too dark and orange on me.
Double Wear stays put all day, does not fade, rub off etc.........
it definately does not look like a mask which I thought it would thats one of the reasons I did not want to try it.
I think for a night out, wedding, photo shoot this is the PERFECT FOUNDATION, or if you just want to look a bit made up and flawless this foundation will do.
I noticed maybe one minus about Double Wear, if I dont moisturize my skin well the night before it tends to accenturate dry areas. I dont think this would be a good foundation for very dry skins.
A must have for normal, combo and oily skins.
Im very pleased with Double Wear and I will definately look forward to being able to wear foundation in warmer months and not touching up or reapplying here and there, I also love the color selection EL has great colors for fair/cool skins because they don't have an orange tone to them, they are more on the pink side which is what cooler skin tones require, the key to this foundation is just proper moisturization prior to applying, no primer needed because it truly stays put for many hours.
This is probably one of the best foudations for oily skins, I have not met anyone who tried this and was not happy.

When I tried on Double Wear at the local Estee Lauder outlet, I was impressed. I knew MUA once again did not fail me! The color blends in SO well, you seriously can't see the foundation anymore! I love how it is liquid, but is not creamy and gross after you apply it to your skin! But once I brought it home and wore it the next day, I broke out. I'm usually not that sensitive to foundations or concealers, but I had a bad reaction to Double Wear. For you girls who are lucky enough to wear Double Wear without breaking out, I envy you.

I wish there was a "maybe" response for the "Would you buy this product again?" question. Purchased EL Double Wear in Ecru for my sensitive, combination skin. It literally sinks into my pores and makes them look huge! Crater huge! This hasn't happened with other liquid foundations I've tried. No matter how little I apply or how well I blend, it looks like I'm wearing gobs of makeup--especially on my nose. I've worn EL'S Double Wear over 4 different moisturizers, applying lightly with my fingers and a sponge to try to remedy the huge pore issue. So why do I still occasionally wear it? A couple hours after application the makeup seems to set and my skin looks flawless and glowy. It does an outstanding job of covering redness. The foundation is not at all mask-like at night or in softly lit places. It doesn't irritate my skin or make me break out. Guess I'll keep experimenting with different moisturizers and application techniques.
