It's the best mascara I've tried. I was alternating between Maybelline Volum Express and Lancome Difinicils for a long time. The Difinicils was o.k. The Maybelline was good for the money and did have thickening properties and the waterproof formula stayed put through anything, but there was some clumping and eyelashes sticking together. The Hypnose Waterproof in black is beautiful. So this is what it looks like to have dark, full, SEPARATED lashes with no annoying clumps at the tips! I will have to rebuy. I don't think I can ever go back to any drugstore variety.
UPDATE: the first week or two it does all the things I mentioned above, but I've found it to get very clumpy as time goes on...still looking for the perfect mascara. Trying Shu Basic next...

NOTHING BUT RAVES HERE! WHOA! This is the FIRST waterproof mascara I've tried that actually gives me REALLY THICK and DRAMATIC lashes! I was truly surprised by this the first time I used it because I thought that waterproof mascaras couldn't volumize all that well...but this really changed my mind! I'm NEVER going to use another waterproof mascara again! This is as good as DiorShow!

I picked this up for my wedding and it was awful. Luckily I tried this before my wedding and it did not last all day. Totally left me with racoon smudges underneath my eyes. It is not waterproof on my oily eye area after 7+ hours. I would not repurchase this one. Retails for $21.50.

Update: Ok have to change my rating. This is one of those mascaras that gets better with age unlike YSL Faux Cils. After about 3 weeks this settled down and now goes on my eyelashes very well, and provides lengthening, slight thickening and nicely separated lashes. Doesn't hold the curl on my lashes all day if it's super humid here(a common occurrence for my neck of the woods)but it does remove easily w/ remover. Also have a few flakes but nothing severe. So would repurchase if I get tired of Shiseido. Original review: I thought this mascara was horrible. It didn't thicken at all but lengthens dramatically BUT at the sacrifice of my lashes--I end up with only 5 lashes cause they're all stuck together! And I can't separate them with either a straight pin or my metal lash comb! Mascara is goopy and very wet. I had to scrape and wipe the wand or my whole eye area was a mess. Color in brown is a nice darkish brown but I didn't find anything about this mascara exceptional. You can find better or comparable at the drugstore for way less cash. I think Shiseido's waterproof is way better. 2 thumbs down

This stuff is pretty great! I wore it for several hours out on my jet ski with water splashing in my face and it HELD UP very well, just a teeny bit of smudge under one eye, but barely noticable. Great product!

UPDATE: I had to update this and drop it down to 3 lippies and that I will not repurchase. Yes, its still a great waterproof mascara, however, it dries out way too quickly and I had to throw out an almost full tube :(

I LOVE THIS MASCARA!! Have used it for ages and have not been tempted to look around! Me like-y!! Oh and I was asked this last weekend if I was wearing fake eyelashes. I wasn't.

i bought this in black, really lengthens and thickens lashes without making them look spidery/spiky...only problem is sometimes it does clump a little...overall a good mascara but not my HG...i'll probably buy it again until i find my HG...
EDIT: Ive been using this for a while and if u use it sparingly it works very well. ALMOST LIKE FALSE EYELASHES!

I have very light and short lashes ,I dont have very many lashes. I purchased this mascara and with just one swipe of the wand I had long ,full lashes I couldnt believe it. I have tried so many others, I will defintley buy again. No clumps or racoon eyes each lash was seperated. LOVE THIS MASCARA
