ok so I used a different brand of cholesterol cream, but it's the same thing. I have to say cholesterol was a miracle for my hair. I am a white blonde, which means I use a lot of bleach. This stuff is so restorative, I can't even tell you. It was recommended by my cheerleading coach, who's a hairdresser, so I decided to try this beauty school treatment and I'm very impressed. This is so cheap too. It makes all that other garbage look like a rip off and a half.

Update
Still LOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it!

Black Girl with relaxed hair (with some texture left to it) review:

I used to use this stuff as a deep conditioner when I was a young child. Over the years I've experimented with salon products, now I'm back to 'cheap' products and drugstore finds. I find that my hair still retains length no matter how much the products cost. Anyway, I recently ventured back to this product after Walgreens had a sale which enabled me to purchase two tubs of this stuff for 2 bucks. How could a girl resist?

I applied the product to dry, dirty hair and topped it off with some oil. I added a plastic cap to get a deeper conditioning. Some would say that I did a "pre-shampoo treatment." I let it sit for about 40 minutes and shampooed it out. WOW! I don't know how it does it (especially seeing that the ingredient list is very mediocre) but this stuff works! My hair felt so moist and detangled! I would give this product a 5 but the fragrance is not great. But as long as they make this stuff, I'll always have a tub on hand.

Black girls or girls with extremely damaged strands: I would def. recommend you trying this as a "pre-shampoo treatment." The stuff is GOOD!

I love this treatment! it makes my hair super soft when I use it with heat for 20-30 mins and follow up with some conditioner that gives some slip. The smell isnt great, but I think its just because there's not much fragrance added, and it doesnt bother me too much. I use a lot of it to cover my towel dried hair and it seems like my hair absorbs it. It washes out easily, and I like to aplly terax crema for a minute for better detangling. Love it and its dirt cheap, will definitely repurchase again as soon as this huge tub runs out. Highly recommended for dry hair! I actually think it would benefit any hair type since its not heavy or coating at all!

I think my grandmother used this! When walgreens offered this conditioner at 2 tubs for 3 bucks, how could I say no? Glad I didn't. My use is to slather a good moisturizing conditioner on dry hair, then mask that with the cholesterol cream, cover with shower cap for as long as I like (15min to several hours). Shampoo and rinse. Result is amazing hair. I have noticed a tremendous difference in my eveyday hair. This isn't some only-after-a-fresh-wash feelgood. There is a definate change in my damaged hair. 1 time a week use. Love, love the results!
Minus 1 lip as other reviewers mentioned, the smell is not great. I think the trouble with the plain old crisco-cholesterol smell is that I equate a "good" conditoner with a pleasing smell. Glad I got over that long enough to check this one out. And inexpensive to boot! Keeper, this one.

I can see why a lot of people wouldn't like this product, but I do believe it's all in how you use it. My hair spent a few years in hell as I was determined to go from black to red a few times using bleach, and then a disaster with a color stripper (chunks fell out). It's in much better condition now! I use a lot of restorative products and deep conditioners, so it's hard to say which has helped the most.

I wash my hair with a clarifying conditioner then apply a big glob of this stuff and let it sit under a shower cap for 15-30 minutes. Then I rinse it out all the way, and condition my hair with a very very light conditioner. It's been helping, and I'll continue to use this. Dirt cheap too! In the aisle with other ethnic hair care products.

this is disgusting. the mineral oil (i.e. vaseline/petroleum jelly ) leaves a disgusting coating. it imparts very little real moisture. makes my hair feel dirty. very dirty.don't buy it.

i have a coarse, curly fro, i blow my hair out sometimes.

I have really damaged hair due to the hair iron. I used this product and it left my hair nice and shiny, but not so conditioned. Afetr two days you could see the grease on my hair so it gets my hair dirty pretty fast. The reason why I put this a three was because it weighed my hair down and its an advantage for me because I have thick hair and a lot of it. I would recommend it to people who dye their hair or have frizzy hair.

I bought this a while back hoping that it would give my hair a good deep conditioning therapy. BUT THIS STUFF WAS AWFUL!!!
First of while applying it in the shower, it tangled my hair so much I could not get my brush through it.
So I just left it on since I still had hopes for it. When I washed it off it was still so hard to get my hair untangled and I had to apply some of my regular conditioner, which helped a little.
BUT AFTER it left my hair with this DRY yet GREASY feel.
I'll never use this product ever again!
I LOVE QUEEN HELEN'S MASKS but this hair thing, just didn't work.
SO girls if you were considering in giving this a try, take my advice and just ignore it when you see it at the stores.

I hate this. I thought it would really help my hair because it is soooo rich. But it makes my hair feel drier and all yucky after using. My stylist said that the ingredient molecules are too big to get into the hair, and it just leaves a filmy coating on the hair, it doesn't really help in any way. The ingredients have sodium lauryl sulfate in it, which I always thought dries out the hair.
Don't buy this, you are better off just putting mayonnaise on your head!!

According to most reviews I have read on this product, it sounds great for relaxed, chemically damaged or fried, frizzy hair, but it did nothing for my natural curls.

My hair was actually dry after using it the first time. I tried again and deep conditioned with a cap and it did nothing. My scalp was oily and my hair was dryer than the first time. This one is going to the trash.
