Thanks to MUA, I discovered this little gem as an alternative to Cellex C. I've been using it day and night for a month now, and it's really helped to brighten and smooth my skin. It smells really nice, has a nice texture, and is an all-round excellent performer for the price IMHO. However, I docked a lippie because the pump does squirt an awful lot out, and it's almost gone after 1 month of use. But, I'll definitely repurchase. **UPDATE** I bought this again because my skin protested when I ran out. I'm adding a lippie back in because this stuff is amazing! This pump seems to dispenses the right amount, and my skin is pallid and lackluster without it. I do seem to go through it pretty quickly, but I can't imagine being without it now so I guess I'll be heading back to Wild Oats to buy my 3rd bottle in a couple of weeks. HG serum!!

I have only used this for about four days and so far I have seen an improvement. My skin is smoother and brighter. My makeup also goes on seamlessly. I didn't notice too much of a scent, the serum melts right into your face. A small pump is all you need so this should last a long time. I will update later if anything changes. I paid $20 CDN at Wal Mart. I should mention that I use this in conjunction with the toner from the same line.

I just bought this yesterday, and I am already impressed. I put it on my cleansed skin and I could almost hear a "woooosh" while my skin sucked it all up. And then it was gone, and I was left with wonderful, soft skin. I don't know what they put in this stuff, but it sure feels good. I hope it's going to help even out my skin tone. I'll update in a week.
UPDATE: It's been longer than a week, and I've been trying other products in the meantime, even the homemade Vit-C serum, but in the end I had to admit that the Avalong is the best. I really, REALLY like how it makes my skin look and feel. I even love the smell. I already purchased another bottle.

This is a very good vitamin C. I have used a lot of the others(skinceuticals,cellex-c,skin medica to name a few). This is as good or better. It gives a nice glow to the skin. I don't know anything about ph or which C is best just how my skin looks and I can save a huge amount of money!
I use the Q10 ultimate firming lotion also.

This serum is moisturizing and smells like fresh oranges. It is a really nice and high quality Vitamin C serum for the price. It's around $20 at Wild Oats.

I just finished a bottle and loved it. It made my skin visiblely brighter, evener, break out less, and best of all, it has anti-aging effects that are good for long term use. The price is moderate and one bottle last long time. I use it at both day and night before sun screen or night moisturizer. Definitely a keeper.

I'm 40 something and had been using the Kiss My Face C-The-Change for the past few months. My skin is N-O/sensitive, and I thought I would step up to another product w/o breaking the bank. Surprisingly this product is very light, suitable for oily skin. Works well under sunscreen. I'v been using it about one month, so far so good, I'm noticing more brightness than I did w/ the KMF serum. The "power-squirt" from the bottle was problematic at first, but if you twist the top to the off position after each use, it won't clog up and will release a small amount w/ minimum pressure. Good product for the price.

Nice product. I'm 18 years old with good skin (thanks to retin A micro). I use this serum under my daily sunscreen in the hopes of never getting (or looking) old. I find it lightly moisturizing, but not enough to be used alone so the suncreen provides the rest of the moisture I need in the morning. The bottle also lasts forever, you only need a little bit for the whole face.

sillysilly was kind enough to send me a sample of Avalon's C serum, so I'm basing my review on the sample. My skin is normal-dry/sensitive, and I found this both sticky and a bit drying at the same time, so I didn't care for its texture. The stable forms of vitamin C used in this C serum are not as potent as ascorbic acid. You would be likely to have better results with an l-ascorbic acid serum, either homemade or commercial, like SkinMedica Vitamin C complex or Neostrata Radiance capsules, both of which are well-formulated.

I bought this due to raves on the boards, and I'm so glad that I did. It's a lovely light serum, it keeps my face moisturised, but is pretty non-greasy. My skin normally gets dry patches after a few days use of any new product, but not this one. I have been using it every morning for a month, and have only used a quarter of the bottle. My skin looks better than it has in ages, but this could also be due to the other new products I am using. This is available in the UK from some healthfood shops. I got mine from Victoria Health & Beauty for £11.99.

I like this serum quite a lot. But first, the ingredients:

Active Ingredients: Magnesium Ascorbyl Phosphate (Vitamin C ester) & Ester-C® (mineral ascorbates)
Ingredients: Certified organic lavender hydrosol (lavandula officinalis), certified organic extracts of green tea (camellia sinensis) and aloe barbadensis, vegetable squalane, plant oils of certified organic borage seed (borago officinalis) and evening primrose (oenothera biennis), papaya (carica papaya) and cucumber (cucumis sativus) extracts, vegetable glycerin, panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), tocopherol and tocopheryl acetate (vitamin E), sodium hyaluronate (vegetable), methyl/propylparaben, and pure essential oils.

Okay, I use this regularly because a) it contains 20% MAP and 14% ester-C, which are both stable but not very potent forms of vitamin C (however, there is a fairly high percentage of them); b) it also has green tea and vitamin E, so it has a nice mix of antioxidants; c) it has aloe and hyaluronic acid, and is soothing, lightly hydrating, and all around perfect for under-sunscreen in the AM. Also, it smells orange-y, but not in a cloying way. If you're trying out this, by the way, one squirt of the pump is prolly enough for your face :)

The formula seems to have changed since they moved from glass to plastic bottles. It had smoothed, brightened, clarified my skin. Now it seems to be a drying moisturizer if that's possible. Too bad, it was a seasonal staple.

My sister got me the whole Vitamin C set - cleanser, serum and cream - for my birthday and I am loving them. The serum is a serum, not a lotion, as some reviewers seem to think. It is hard to control the amount that squirts out of the bottle. But otherwise, I like how it makes my skin feel and I like the scent. Very nice.I have very sensitive skin and I've had no adverse reaction to this.

I was on a quest to find cheaper Vit. C alternatives and chose this at Whole Foods. It is a great creamy lotion C. I wanted to like this and was hoping that it was a keeper, but it did not do anything for my skin at all.

Absolutely wonderful. My face feels smoother and more refreshed. I use it on my lips to exfoliate, smoothe, and plump. I love how the papaya and cucumber extracts work to provide instant brightening results. I usually use this under moisturizing sunscreens.

After reading good reviews on this product, I thought I would take it for a test drive. I am trying to find my HG Vitamin C serum.

The price isn't bad at $24.99 and the packaging seems to be air tight, but the product didn't do a thing for my face! At least with the Jason C Serum, some of my red spots from acne faded or completely went away. This just provided more moisture in my opinion. This would be ok for a moisturizer, but you need a sunscreen with it. I don't recommend this for a Vitamin C Serum.

When I read the reviews of this I decided to try it, and am glad I did. This serum is as good as the one I got from a dermatologist (with almost the same ingredients) for about a third the proce!

I love the way this serum works. By just a week or so I could see a difference in my skin texture. For some reason, it also helps heal acne spots(I'm the type who get one or two spots once a while on very strategic places, such as my nose! and thus very annoyed by them). I'd totally recommend it to others. I'm on my 5th bottle already!!
