I dried my face up rather badly using a 10% BP, so a SA at Sephora suggested I try this. Very happy I did, I use it as a spot treatment and it hasn't left my skin all yucky =).
(LLL - dry, sensitive, acne-prone)

**UPDATE 9/04** I have since switched to a 2.5% BP product, although I use this to spot treat. Still a good product, I like to use to smallest concentration possible!

After 2 weeks on this, all of my little flesh colored bumps have disappeared! Finally, something that keeps my skin clear. Although it is $19, you're getting alot for your money. Well worth it.

This is my HG acne fighter. It's not quite as drying as persagel (which is 10%) yet really keeps the breakouts at bay. I use it day and night!

HOLY GRAIL.

I have combo skin that's gone from oily/combo to normal/combo as I've gotten older. I generally don't experience severe breakouts, but always seem to have some spot or another.

I had been using Clean & Clear 10% to combat the larger pimples, but I felt like it wasn't working as well as I expected, and was very drying. I read some great things about DDF's treatment on MUA and picked up in a sale, even though I was skeptical about the lower 5% BP.

Well, was I ever wrong! This stuff is AMAZING. It literally makes big angry pimples disappear in one or two nights. It has stopped smaller pimples in their tracks. This treatment also doesn't seem to dry out the skin when spot treating. I've also used thin layers after using masks or a glycolic treatment, as it's not harsh at all, and I find it very helpful in keeping "purging" under control. I am in awe of its mighty powers.

Definite holy grail! Thanks MUA!

I bought this a long time ago but i was going on vacation and didn't want to use BP because of the "bleaching" affect it has on my skin. I started using it 2 weeks ago with my knew Dr. Hauschka products and i have only old spots, smooth skin and no irritation. This product will help you if you have sensitive/acne skin. I use a thin layer over my breakout prone areas, chin, jawline, forehead, and cheeks. HG!!!

Again, I have to say Thank you everyone on MUA, without your reviews I would have never found this product. Before this I had been using Oxy's acne spot treatment with 10% BP (which I didn't even realize it had until after I stopped using it), and wasn't happy with Oxy's results but didn't know what else to try. I'm happy to say I don't need to look around anymore. DDF 5%BP seems to do the trick. I also wish I found this in earlier before I got all my acne scars. My skin is so much smoother now, if I didn't have the scars, I think I would be comfortable going out without having to wear makeup all the time.
For reference, my skin is acne prone/sensitive, my skin gets easily irritated, but I haven't had any problems with this. I agree that the lower 5%BP actually works better because it doesn't dry out or irritate your skin as much. I massage this in to my acne as a spot treatment, but I believe to can use it for all over your face. Just so you know, it does have a thinner consistency than you would expect, when I first got it I thought maybe I got a bad bottle but after asking around, I found out that's the way it's supposed to be. Also, at first glance this is a little expensive, but for how much you get (big bottle), it will last a long, long time. So, it ends up being cheaper than the drug store brands and works so much better!
Oh, to find discounts for DDF products I've had good luck on Ebay, or www.beautyprescriptions.com (a seller I found on ebay) they give great discounts and ship the products to you really fast!

Yay - finally! A good BP product that doesn't irritate, feel dirty, sticky or annoying. It's a very nice packaging, easy to use. No nasty smell. Has quite a lot in one tube.
Best thing is, it dries on your skin really quickly because it is a gel formula so you don't have to walk around and wait for it to dry before going to bed like I had to with the 2.5% Neutrogena BP.
Reduced breakouts, works in about 2 days on nasty spots..no complaints!

This is practically a miracle product! A few years ago, a dermatologist prescribed a product with a higher amount of benzoyl peroxide (8% I believe) and after a couple of months, all I had was a couple months of peeling, flaky dry skin and a slight improvement in my complexion-- and once a month during "that time" of the month, my complexion became terrible regardless of the medication. I couldn't go out in the sun and my skin was dry, itchy, and flaky all of the time so I couldn't really wear foundation. I have been wanting to try benzoyl peroxide again but was afraid that I would have the same results and that it would take too long to actually start WORKING. Then I read the reviews for this product and decided to try it... my complexion was better THE VERY NEXT DAY. now it's been about three or four days and my complexion is almost perfect-- I can even go out without make-up on! The best part? No flaky skin! Although my skin does feel slightly dry and irritated (but doesn't look it!) which is why I say "almost" a miracle product and only give it four lippies. It especially irritates my eyelids, even though I don't put it on my eyelids-- the other benzoyl peroxide product that I used several years ago did the same thing. I also use DDF matte finish photo age protection sunscreen over this and the combination makes my skin sting for a little while. Also, I usually use the product once a day. Now I'm just wondering what will happen when I stop using it-- will the acne immediately come back? I'd rather not have to use this stuff for the rest of my life.

I bought this product because it had the highest ratings I'd ever seen for benzoyl peroxide. I tried it and it's great! It does do a great job reducing acne overnite without the red/burning/dry spot that is usually visible the next day. It seriously is GREAT for very fair/sensitive skin too!

For me, it works a lot better than Neutrogena's one the spot, which has always worked well. It makes my skin look healthier and clear. Love it.
*edit* I only use this as spot treatment now...

This products zaps aways my cystic acne. I wish I tried this before acne left my face with scars. It is a bit drying for me. I exfoliate to get rid of the flaky skins so my makeup will on more smoothly. Also, the its very liquidy so it keeps spilling all over my hand when I squeeze it out.

I just started using this, and already I notice the lack of redness in the few blemishes I have. (which is thanks to DDF's Blemish Cleanser) I know some people who slather this on wherever, but I prefer to just dab a bit here and there, and use it as a spot treatment. I'd recommend using the BP 5% if you just have some mild acne here and there. 10% is for more advanced acne.

This stuff is expensive, but it comes in a great big tube, and its gentle and doesnt dry out your skin or irritate it somehow, and it really kills the acne germs...seriously in 2 nights of putting this stuff on your blemishes..they will be next to gone....I have tried every prescription and OTC acne med, and benzoyl peroxide is where its at to killing the bacteria and making it go away--treating it--ASAP, and not letting it scar, getting the gunk out. However, a big problem is, if you want to use it alot, and prevent by rubbing it in with a very thin layer over the face, it has to be gentle, no alcohol and other irritants, and not be too high a percent and still work (like the neutrogena one doesnt work on me, its gentle, but actually less gentle than this one, but with more moisturizers..hrm.). Also the tea tree oil also helps the acne too. This is a great product..seriously. You can spot treat over night, or rub it in with a small amount all over the face everyday...you want to use a moisturizer afterwards in the day (and with SPF).

Tis is my favorite benzoyl peroxide product. It is lightweight, a nice texture, and absorbs quickly without drying my typically oily skin. I have used it on my face, chest, back, and arms, and it seems to work well in any area.

This is the only acne product with BP that didnt burn my face. I have used several products like PC, Proactive. They seemed helping at the beginning but after a few use all made my skin red and irritated. I have been using this product for the last six months and it cleared my skin totally with no irritation.

So far so good. I did not have much acne through my teens and through my early twenties (small zits confined to my nose, forehead and the occasional cyst). My acne was made worse, no doubt, by my irregular hours of sleep/study/work and haphazard skincare regimen (often falling asleep before washing face at night and not treating acne much, just letting things heal naturally) and PICKING!
Still, I didn't mind it until I turned 24 - I ALWAYS had some kind of zit on my face, and more cysts than before, that took ages to heal. I had finally stopped picking so much but to no avail. Tried the differin/clindamycin route but it really peeled my skin.
I have used a 5% benzoyl perozide formulation on and off for years to dry out pimples, but never found a formulation that I could spread all over for prevention. Also, for 5 years now, I have been getting chin zits, usually cysts, every month about 1 week after my period. The old batch never heals properly before getting the next batch. I was most distressed - my previously
perfect chin is now starting to resemble a warzone.

I have been using DDF 5% BP for two weeks as prevention therapy, and so far, so good! I put a fair amount all over at night (making sure it dries before lying on my sheets), and a little in the morning over the areas most prone to acne (forehead, nose, temples, chin) under a moisturizer. I have not had a new whitehead, blackhead, or pustule (the small inflamed zits) since anywhere I've applied the BP.
I still have the "deep" cysts (which, if I don't touch, subside with time). My theory is that the BP is very effective at preventing "surface" acne because it kills the bacteria and dries out the pores, making the cells flake off, instead of lining the pores (which starts the whole acne process). BP doesn't penetrate the deeper layers, which is why (I speculate) the cysts remain. From all my research, the only thing that promotes healing of the "Deep" cysts are cortisone injections and the only thing that prevents formation is Accutane (neither of these solutions I am willing to subject myself too).

I will update in 4 weeks to inform you as to whether the BP is still working for me.

This is awesome! It's the only benzoyl peroxide product I've used that works AND doesn't irritate! I have sensitive, combo acne prone skin and persa gel or 10 percent BP formulas make it BEET RED. But I put this all over my face for the past 3 nights (even on my dry cheeks) and it's not red, dry or flaky...just perfectly clear. You also get a lot for your money, even though it is spendy. Love it!

Wow. For the first time in about a year or so, I have perfectly smooth skin. My skin is as smooth as a baby's bottom...seriously. I seem to have found my old "glow" as well!

I didn't have bad skin before trying the DDF treatment, but I had some small tiny bumpies on my forehead (that no one could see but me probably) and some small blackheads on my nose. The texture felt sort of rough.

This hasn't dried me out too much...a little bit around my mouth but it's not too bad and is easily exfoliated away.

I'm THRILLED to have found this product and would recommend it to anyone looking to refine and smooth their skin.

I am MMM, Asian, normal to combo skin, no breakouts. I got this for the tiny breakout that I had over July 4th weekened- only a couple of pimples. My little sister has been using it since she started breaking out a lot (she used to have perfect skin) and got me a tube. Ehhh, I like it for not being drying like hell, but there are these weirdo little granules in the gel which I'm not sure should be there? Maybe my tube is defective? Either way, it seems to work, but I did notice that instead of my usual smoother skin, I feel tiny little bumps on my cheeks... kind of creepy. I think that I may have to ditch this product and find something for cheaper at the drugstore-- I used to love Neutrogena's Nighttime Clarifying Gel. It not only killed my zit when I was younger, but it made my skin so glowy and smooth too.

Oh I love this product...works well on problem areas, but doesn't dry out like stronger BPs. This keeps me clear, and I have been able to get off my topical rx using this and a good cleanser. I keep it in the fridge and use it 6 out of 7 nights (like the break every once in a while). Great stuff!!! Has reached HG status...am just finishing up my second tube...
