Thank you MUA for helping find out about this color! When I heard that this was a knockoff of one of my favorite nail color, Sephora's Metro Chic, I had to check it out and the color is pretty right on! With Metro Chic, the formula is more opaque but with Rimmel's you will need 2 coats to get the needed color. I did like the concept of the brush with the rounded tip and how it was wider and flat but did find it was just a little too wide. It was a bit annoying dipping the wand back in because it would touch the sides and get a bit messy. Also, it was hard to get the side edges of my nails and either I could not get close enough or ended up getting them all over my nails. lol If the brush was a little thinner, it would be perfect!

I looooove this colour on other girls. Sadly, it doesn't look that great on me, but I love it anyways. I use to never use colour for my nails, only like clear glossy, or just sheer polishes. But recently I have been pushing my boundaries a little bit with neutrals and taupe colours. I love muted and desaturated colour, so I knew I had to get my hands on either Metro Chic or this. $4 bucks works for me, so I went with Rimmel. Other than the awesome colour, I love the applicator brush, I'm a noob in nail painting and I found it so much easier. The first and best polish I have bought in like 5 years.

LOVE this polish - and I don't like polish because it chips on me IMMEDIATELY!!! Not this stuff - it lasts and lasts. Also the brush is genius: flat, rounded brush makes application, well, almost fun!

I bought this product because the color reminded me of Metro Chic and I really love the color. The brush that it comes with also help the application alot. The price is very reasonable specially if you get it with discount. Over all this is my go to nail polish and I hope it never gets discontinued.

Alright, I just couldn't resist & had to see what all the hype was about. This color is definitely hype-worthy! Def. agree with the reviewer below, I wouldn't call this a steel grey, but a putty-taupe w a bit o' dusty mauve mixed in. Even though I'm as traditional as they come, and never wear any weird colors, I see myself wearing this over and over as it it a really nice neutral and not garish at all. Minus one lippie bc I didn't care for the brush, maybe I'm too used to the OPI brushes. Two thumbs (and eight fingers) up!

Ok, whoever named this is clearly crazy. This not being a steel color, nor a grey. I would call this a taupe-putty color with a hint of dusty plum. It is a flat cream, which is in the color family of S.H. CInC, OPI YDKJ, or OPI Metro Chic. Normally this runs $4.99, but I got it for around a dollar on sale. The brush is somewhat funky, it is a tapered widebrush. Which does get most of your nail with one swipe, but it's a tad hard to get polish close to the cuticle.
It applied well with a base/topcoat, but I am unsure of how long this lasts. As I am testing it out as we speak. For a buck, even if it chipped within a few hours, it would still be worth the price! Lovely chic color, that is in style now. Great for an office job, or a night out. I love it!

I bought this nail polish a couple weeks ago at Ulta, not knowing it was a dupe for Metro Chic. I did not really like the purple tone in it since it was not very flattering on my hands. But I like the formula sooooooo much. I applied it with no base coat or top coat, in order to try out the staying power--it was amazing! No visible chipping or fading in 10 days, and real easy to take off with NP remover.
Today I went to Walgreens(all Rimmel cosmetics are on sale) and bought 5 other colors in the Lasting Finish Pro line. Can't wait to try them on :-)

This is the first Rimmel nail polish I've tried and I've been wanting to buy the Sephora by OPI Metro Chic and cannot justify spending $10 for it, so I was so excited to hear there is a dupe for it and at 1/3 of the price! It didn't last me 10 days (even with a top coat) like the bottle says, but it did last about good 4~5 days before i saw chipping.

Wow, first this is an awesome dupe for Sephora by OPI's Metro Chic, and at about a third of the price. Second, I love the brush, it is larger than the wide OPI brushes and applies the polish beautifully and in just a few swipes. The formula is awesome and overall I am extremely impressed. I will be buying more from this line in the future!

I think this is the first Rimmel nail polish I've purchased and I'll definitely buy more in the future. The wider brush is also flatter then the typical applicator so it glides on your nail perfectly and without any mistakes on the edges. The color is awesome, I saw this specific nail polish in People Style Watch magazine since greys are "in" right now but I think this type of nail color can never go out of style because it's so neutral.

Rimmel has really improved in the quality of its products. This is one of the best drugstore nail polishes I've ever used. This is my new favorite color to use and I love how the brush is kind of wide so you don't have to take too long to paint your nails. It saves some time.

The color is nice and the brush is an interesting shape, but it took 3 coats to get a streak free finish and to get it the same color in the bottle. It is pretty though. I like that it is a grey-ish lavender-ish color.

It is love with this product for me. Although, I'm not much of a nail polish kind of girl...I really love this. The formula is great. It isn't runny or streaky. Quite sheer with the first coat but the second or third gives me the depth I like. I reaaaaallly like the brush for this too. Overall, worth every penny for me. Picked it up at target for about three to four dollars. Gonna look out for bogo sales at drugstores to pick up another one :]

Oh baby. A 1am Walgreens excursion with a friend went so, so right when I saw this on sale for $1.99 and it was the last one. Fafinettex3 mentioned it in a video and I'm totally a sucker for taupes of all shades, so I knew I had to have it. So glad I took the plunge. The brush is super easy for covering more nail in less time. Definitely go for it.

I LOVE Steel Grey.
I was looking at swatches and found out it was an exact dupe for Sephora by OPI's Metro Chic, and at a fraction of the cost too. Great staying power and it lasted me a week.

I really wanted this polish and after not being able to get it at Ulta or Target I finally found one left at Walmart and I knew I had to get it.
Basically Steel Grey is just like Metro Chic (Purple taupe with no shimmer, sheen, or frost finish) by OPI, but a third of the price.
The applicator is quite wide and flat like a paddle which is nice for my short nails. The formula is very sheer and is opaque in 2-3 coats.
So far I have had it on for 2 days without a top coat and its had no signs of wear (Through the shower, two days of golf, and lots of writing).
I really like this and it's a good value for what it is. I will repurchase.
Oh! The package is nice and sturdy. but the top was SO hard to open. If you have weak hands, seek help. :)

LOVE this color! It is sometimes difficult to find edgier or matte colors in the drugstore amidst all the reds and pinks, but rimmel has done it! I love that this formula really does last quite a while on your nails before chipping. The brush is different and the first time I wasn't sure if I liked it or not, but now I find that it makes application a little faster. I might also add that the first coat is not so promising looking, but I think 2 coats looks beautiful and 3 gives you a very solid grey color. I would buy this color over and over again!

This color is IT!! I dont really follow "trends" but I really liked this color. Its a nice change if your sick of wearing the typical black nail polish or a boring nude.I picked this color up and sitletto red at cvs when the had a bogo sale. In the bottle the red looked like your classic red nail polish, not to dark not to bright. havent tried that yet...Not only did I like steel gray I loveeee the new brush design!! Painting your nails is pretty much fool proof! I have really small hands which means tiny itty baby fingers so I always apply to much and its always a clean up around the cuticles. I usually just stick to opi and china glaze because they're supposedly sister companies and the have the "ergonomic" brush design. The brush design on the rimmel is a little wider than usual which means it gets more nail polish coverage on the nail with less strokes. I will def try more colors.

I never though the new "it" colour for nailpolish would be "putty!" Upon reading an article in a well-known fashion magazine, they recommended Rimmel's "steel grey", along with more expensive brands like OPI, MAC and Chanel.
Considering the Rimmel polish would cost me a fraction of what I'd pay anywhere else I decided to give it a try.
LOVE IT!
When they say "10 day wear"...they mean it! Mine lasted for almost 7 days without a chip! I work alot with my hands and am constantly washing them numerous times a day as well...so for a darker polish to last THIS long is not often for me! I can't wait to try their other brighter colours more towards the spring! :)
