My mom made a comment about my eye lashes after I wore this. She asked where did I get those long lashes from because no one else has them in the family and she was awed. My lashes are decent naturally, but this mascara makes them dramatically long. It applies well and doesn't smudge. I only had a sample but I plan to buy now.

Brush is nice, gives both volume and lenght. BUT...it smudges and flakes!!! I did not experience that with other mascaras (unless I get wet or something) but this one does exactly the opposite what it claims not to do!

This product does exactly what it says it does. It lengthens my lashes (way more than the XL masacara) and it doesn't smudge at all but is still easy to get off. I have to admit that it doesn't really hold a curl as it makes the lashes quite heavy but it doesn't say it's a curling mascara so nyeh.

PASS.
i got this free in that macys gift bag when my dad spent $50 on cologne (which is actually an amazing deal, i got all kinds of stuff) but this was included. i like it because its a very wet formula but it droops my naturally curly lashes down to straight clumpy sticks, and doesnt lenghten at all. the only good thing is that its FABULOUS for blending falsies with my natural lashes. but i would never use it alone

This is overpriced and basically useless. I don't like the way the brush feels as I apply it to my lashes, and the mascara is clumpy and way too thick. My lashes look goopy and overdone after applying one coat. It makes my lower lashes stick together and I can't pry them apart. I cannot recommend this mascara.

This product was given to me as a sample, thank goodness. I used it the next morning before work and after one coat, nothing too impressive. Two coats, lashes started to clump a bit. Third coat, clumping and brittle looking lashes were the result. Three light coats by the way. The results were so bad that I had to use my Clinique mascara on the other eye and remove the Lauder product, then went over the lashes with Clinique. This product goes for $32 CDN, and it has to be one of the worst mascara's that I have ever used. What a disaster and a dissapointment.

This is some pretty excellent stuff. I prefer an out-right *waterproof* mascara, but I wasn't able to get to the MAC store for my usual Splashproof Lash that I usually get. I ran into a store with no MAC counter, and settled for this. Even though it doesn't say "Waterproof" anywhere on the packaging or website, I was assured that it would hold just as well with no smudging.

And really - it has. I've been using it for a while now, and I'm pleasantly surprised, given how sweaty my face gets in the summer. The thing I like about it more than Splashproof is that it's much easier to remove. The thing I don't care for is that it's nearly twice the price as Splashproof. So, I'm pretty torn as to which I love better!

I got this product as a sample with my purchase of Double Wear foundation + concealer and bronze goddess.= (love those products btw). This mascara really does a great job with lengthening, however you should use a volume or your current favorite masacra before you apply it. So aka use it later in the day or as a second coat. It looks fabulous on bottom lashes but may clump if you overdue it on the top if your using it as your only mascara. I like how this product comes off easy in the shower, it does not run down your face, which I love! It's really a good mascara, you should also always use an eyelash curler, it makes the difference so don't go without one, I typically use a Revlon one, don't get CoverGirl haha. :) Anyone should try this product, a little goes a long way! Promise you'll like it.

It does what it says, lengthens with zero smudge (which is essential for my Asian eyes). But my lashes end up being slightly crispy. By the end of the day there's a little flaking. If only they could make the formula dry soft & flexible and still have ZERO-smudge.

I got this for free when my mom made a purchase.

This product does what it says, lengthens and doesn't smudge. Note, I don't use eyelash curlers.

When I first put it on, I didn't like the way my eyelashes looked (globby-ish). But when it dried, my lashes looked much better (no clumps, btw).

It doesn't smudge or flake. Well, it will flake if you mess with your eyelashes (which is what I was doing, which made me notice the crispiness that the mascara gave my lashes).

Overall, this is a great product, but not only have I found a d/s mascara that does the EXACT same thing, I can't afford this mascara.

[edit]
Had to take off a 'lippie' 'cause it does flake & then smears. I only use this when I'm not going to be out all day.

This mascara does deliver what it promises (lengthening & minimal smudging). Too bad it cannot hold a curl, which is essential for my straight Asian lashes. Not a bad product but I will not purchase the full size (I have the GWP sample version) since I have no reason to.

This is a fantastic daytime mascara. I work shiftwork and alternate betweeen glasses and contacts and this is d first mascara iv ever used that doesnt smudge on me or leave me with Racoon Eyes. Its not the most dramatic of mascaras so i prob wouldn use it at nighttime, i also use it with my Smashbox Primer so cant say what its like on its own. But im extremely happy with this and its easy 2 remove, i will deffo repurchase unless i find somethin cheaper as this is prob a bit on d expensive side for a day mascara.

i recieved a gwp of this and it makes my lashes noticably longer, no clumps, and it STAYS ON. I'm debating if i should get this because even though it doesn't make my lashes super long or full they look very clean and longer.

If you absolutely do not want any raccoon eyes and smears on your eyeglasses, this product delivers. You have to approach it with an open mind. It is very different from anything else. It appears to make a little plastic-like coating over each lash and then dries to a rubbery/flexible shiny hard finish. It is almost like a little black tube of product over the lash that remains there all or most of the day. As the day wears on, it does flake into rubbery slippery little pieces, but it never smears or streaks-ever. It just "peels" off as the day wears on and little non-stick flecks appear under the eyes that are easily wisked away in a second with your finger with no residual smears. It reminds me of when I clean a teflon pan and the stuff left in the pan falls off effortlessly. I prefer this flaking that you can clean off immediately and effortlessly so much more to the smears of gunk traditional mascara tends to leave. When I wear other mascaras, and the day wears on, by the middle of the day, I look messy, with dark sloppy smeary circles under my eyes. I have to end up touching my makeup midday, and I am so tired of doing that because my mascara smeared. I have not had to do that once since buying this product! Also, I occassionally wear contacts, and I can apply rewetting drops in my eyes and the ELZS mascara never runs nor flakes. Again, if I want to apply eyedrops, with regular mascara I have to end up retouching my undereye area yet again,or living with a day of dry eyes. This product also does not cling to the contacts or fingers when I remove them either and I am able to keep my contacts cleaner longer. If some happens to end up in the contact lens case and solution it just floats there and never dissolves but remains intack, which is good because it does not ruin the contacts in the case overnight from dissolving in the solution. Again, this is VERY different from other mascaras, and it does flake, but in a good way. Oh, and love the packaging. The top of the wand is fluted, and it is very easy to grip, spin, and manipulate. I consider this formula the most unique I have ever used-I will definatly buy again, because I prefer the way it wears throughout the day over anything else I have ever used.

Egg on my face. I tried the mascara again after a couple of weeks. It's really good. It doesn't smudge. It lengthens. The first couple of uses must have been the worst because afterwards it's a darn good mascara. I won't buy again because I'm going to look into lower priced mascaras.

Original Review:

I got sucked in by the ad for this mascara in InStyle magazine and I find this mascara does not live up to the claims. It doesn't seem to lengthen much and you'll have to use an eyelash curler before you use this, unlike Lancome Definicils. It doesn't seem entirely smudge proof - it didn't smear, but there were little dots of mascara under my eye.

It cost almost $20. I'd rather spend a couple bucks more and get Lancome Definicils. Or Cover Girl Volume Exact waterproof for drugstore mascaras.

It dries so quickly between coats that you cannot put another coat on smoothly. In addition, this mascara makes my eyes run, and it also doesn't live up to its hype of 'long-lasting' - within six hours, it was flaking off my lashes. I love EL products, but I have to pass on this one. It may stay on through humidity, but it doesn't stay on long enough to be called "Double Wear." What a disappointment. :(

I also had high hopes for this mascara. I am disappointed and won't get it again. It does seem to last all day, which is good. But in application it feels to me dry, flaky and clumpy straight out of a brand new tube. I just looked in the mirror after a careful application earlier today, and it looks flaky on my lashes. It's also much harder to remove than many other mascaras I have liked better. So much hype when it came out, I bought it right away, and such a disappointment.

I had very high hopes connected to this product, but alas, I was wrong. The color is nice and very deep, glossy black, and the brush is also very nice and narrow. But this is where my praise will end....I wear it for the first time today, and upon application, the first thing I noticed, was that it dries too quickly, making it almost impossible to apply without major clumping. And then what's even worse: It irritates my eyes big time! I have rubbed and scratched my eyes constantly today, and I only look forward to going home so that I can take the darn thing off. Sorry, EL, you can definitely do better than this. Now, let's hope I'll be able to return it; after all, it DID make my eyes tear and itch.

I inquired about this at the EL counter last week and, since they didn't have any testers, I received a generous samples to take with me and try at home.

I'm a mascara addict, and since I have small, wimpy eyelashes, I am always on the lookout for the next big thing. (no pun intended!)

This mascara is nice... it does lengthen a bit, though doesn't build much volume (which is why I took off one lippie.) I also found that while it was on, my lashes felt a bit stiff and crunchy.

However, it was such a breeze to remove! I first moistened my lashes with some warm water and rubbed them between my fingers to break up the mascara, then I used my usual Olay face wipe clothes, and I did not have raccoon eyes or any residual mascara.

The only other "tubing" mascara that I have used is Too-Faced Lash Injection, which sort of came off in sticky strings all over my face. I did not have that problem with this one, which was great.

I put that I would repurchase, because I do intend to buy a full-sized one of this.
