I bought a Ped Egg on a whim after reading a review or two here on MUA and then seeing a display of them at Linens 'N' Things when I was buying a shoe rack (I'm a hopeless impulse buyer). I'd actually never seen a commercial for the Ped Egg (and still haven't to this day), so it was an even bigger impulse buy than if I'd heard of it and then decided to try it on the spur of the moment. I've had horrible problems with severely dry, deeply cracked and painful heels almost my entire life and I've tried just about every sort of file on the market (I only stopped short of the callous shavers because the idea of using a razor blade on my feet freaks me out), so I thought this was worth a shot.

On the plus side, the Ped Egg is easy to hold and maneuver and it's nice that it catches all the dead skin flakes (as long as you're holding it the right way around which isn't always comfortable or even possible and as soon as you turn it over, it starts sprinkling onto the floor). I did get reasonably good results with the Ped Egg, better than many flat files that I've tried, but they weren't spectacular. I also liked that it includes a built in buffer, which is helpful when using this kind of file because it tends to leave ragged skin edges.

On the negative side, it's nearly impossible to always hold the Egg the right way around to trap the shavings without contorting your body into weird positions and/or holding the Egg awkwardly.

The Ped Egg isn't bad by any means, and I even think it's probably worth the $10 I paid for it, but I vastly prefer my Diamancel Foot Rasp #20 that I got a few days after the Ped Egg. It makes my feet smoother, softer and doesn't leave ragged edges or uneven areas. It was more expensive and doesn't have the nice ergonomic shape, but I use it every day instead of my Ped Egg, which is sitting in its package gathering dust now.

I had been wanting one of these for a while and was lucky enough to come across the pink one that was created to support breast cancer research at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. In short, I love it! I had let my feet go and it showed (despite the occasional pedicure)--they are especially bad in the summer when all I wear is flip-flops and they are exposed to dirt, heat, etc. (I live in the mountains). My feet are now considerably softer and back to what I consider "normal". I had used almost every foot manicuring tool I had and nothing was working. But the PedEgg came through and I couldn't be more pleased. And much like the previous poster, I couldn't resist showing my boyfriend all the nasty flakies that came off my foot--now if I could just get him to use it ! :~p

I purchased this in pink (couldn't resist) at BBB to support Breast Cancer. I love the way it makes my feet feel soft and smooth!! I have used it twice, but I think I used it too soon after the first time or either too aggressively because my big toe was bleeding after I finished. But who cares? It will heal, and the rest of my foot is so touchable! Be careful when using especially if skin is not extremely dry. I also put a towel under my feet to catch the dry skin that inevitably falls out of the egg. Yes, the dried skin it collects is gross, but I get a kick out of showing it to my husband. LOL

LOVE this!! I have used this product now 3 times and was waiting to see how it worked before writing my review.

Over the past few months, I have been diligently trying all sorts of lotions and treatments on my feet at night w/ socks and while a lot of them would keep my feet soft (thank you Nivea, Eucerin), none (not even AH or BH products nor the almost daily luffing in the shower) could get rid of the dead skin that had built up on my heels and the outer edge of my big toes - even my occasional pedicure could not completely rid me of these problematic areas.

Like many, I had seen the infomercial and completely dismissed Ped Egg as a waste of money. Enter MUA - read so many positive reviews, I thought - what the heck - what's $10? (Walgreens, Target) O BOY!! What a miracle product! I was a bit hesitant on 1st use, but lo and behold - say good bye to ALL the dead skin!!! I have soft heels and big toes!!

I do sit on the edge of my bathtub and perform this ritual over that tub because I have had 1 incident wherein the ped egg seperated and there was quite a white dust fall out, so better safe than sorry.

Product does exactly what it promises to do! Best $10 I ever spent!

I love this thing!! Just had my second baby so my feet have been pretty neglected through pregnancy. After using this thing for 5 minutes my feet feel like my daughter's! It may seem pricey at $10 but will save you loads on pedicures.

This little device is wonderful. I had very rough dry feet with lots of cracks. They went to baby smooth in 5 minutes using this little cheese grater device. And I've tried everything else. Lava rocks, foot files, nothing works as well as the Ped egg. A little pricey but I'm no longer embarrassed to go and get a pedicure. The horrified look on the girls face as she looked at my feet kind of discouraged me from going. After using it I put a nice thick lotion on and the change in my feet is truly a thing of wonder!!!! Definitely will be keeping blade refills in my medicine cabinet.

If your feet are calloused or rough, buy this. Use just enough masking tape to keep the lid on. If you have the opportunity, let your husband see you using it. When he inevitably asks "What are you DOING?" Tell him. When he gives you that "you're nuts" look, show him the contents and tell him that you put it on his pasta all the time and he seems to like it fine.
Now you have smooth feet and a husband who will think twice before he gets all up in your business. Or eats your pasta.

Seriously: As a dancer (NOT stripper...not that there's anything wrong with that), I have disgusting, gnarled, calloused feet. I have calluses on the tips of my toes. Very hot.

The Ped Egg works very well. I would best describe it as an extremely aggressive buffer. Unlike the credo knife, you don't have to light candles, pray, and tie up your affairs before use. It removes hard dry skin, but not one scary slice at a time.

I needed a new one (my second) and the one displayed by the register at the drug store was the "Man's" Ped Egg. It's black. Whatever. I figured it would be exactly the same otherwise but it's actually stronger. Just an fyi for those of you who, like me, can walk over broken glass without as much as a wince.

Another reviewer mentioned that these should come in cute colors and patterns. Rest assured, they will. Pretty soon TJ Maxxx will be packed to the brim with pink zebra fur covered Ped Eggs along with all the other crap destroying the earth. But I'm sure it will look absolutely gorgeous on the mantle.

This thing is pretty cool. My feet aren't too bad to begin with though I do have some roughness around the heels and my big toe. I went at my feet with this thing and was surprised by all the dry skin that it shaved off. Sounds gross.... but it works and my feet are now quite soft and smooth.

Best product ever used, but I think the price is bit much for 10$ it should come with additional blades. They could make it fun colours and patters. Would buy again and again. I have tried so many other methods to get rid of the dirty ugly dry heel and this works the best.

This really works for me, its not perfect but its better than anything I have ever used for getting rid of calloused rough skin in a DIY way. I like to splurge on a salon mani and do my own pedi, this works great for getting salon soft feet. As its been mentioned sometimes the way youhold the egg can be ackwards and can cause some spilling of the skin, not to nice or clean but I don't mind being careful...I paid 9 bucks for this at Linens and Things, a pedicure costs me 25 to 30 bucks every single time so being careful and maybe having to put a towel down to catch spillage is totally worth it to me. I like to soak my feet a bit first or even apply lotion and than wipe most of it off, I just need a tiny bit of moisture rather than bone dry skin even though the ped eggs instructions say to only use it on dry feet. I gave it a 5 despite its flaws! I'd rebuy.

I love it! it says to use it on dry feet, but it didnt do anything for me when i did that, i had flakes everywhere, and no removal of dead skin. I can see how some ladies here definitely agree with me that it doesnt work on super dry skin. THEN, i decided to soaked my feet in a pedicure tub for 10 minutes, and then wiped my feet off clean really good, and then made few passes with the ped egg again, and it took all the dead skin off and then i followed it with the emery pad (that it comes w/) to even out my skin, and let me tell you my feet have not been this smooth in a long time. Ped egg did a better job than my pedicurist. Now I can go back to my trendy high heels =). I will definitely buy and recommend it and toss out my other filers.

All the reviews here convinced me to give this a try. My feet were disgustingly cracked and gross. This actually did what all the other files, pumices, lotions could not. I am seriously impressed because I laughed my butt off the first time I saw the commercial! It does get messy but I followed a previous reviewer's post and did it over the tub. I also had trouble getting the egg apart to get the shavings out but who cares? It works!!!

pretty dissapointed with this product after reading so many good reviews. PedEgg works in that it DOES definately file off the dead skin, but what makes this product so 'great' - that it collects all the skin & makes it easier to dispose of... is pretty dissapointing.

First, unless you're filing with the file UNDER your foot (not off to the side or any comfortable postion) the skin will NOT stay in the 'egg' - instead it will fall on the floor, just like any other foot file. I should note, that I'm 8 mo preg, so leaning over to file my feet isn't comfortable for me. BUT even if I wasn't prego, filing one foot over the other leg is the msot comfortable postition for me - and results in a skin mess. Gross.

Second, the egg part is hard to detach from the file. This is bad because it means if you tug too hard, it jerks & all that skin goes all over the place. Double Gross.

Overall, I wouldnt buy this again, instead I'd save my money & get a regular file.

After reading all the rave reviews, I was really excited to try this product. Unfortunately, I was a bit underwhelmed. Even though I followed the directions, it didn't seem like much skin was coming off my feet. I was expecting to open the ped egg and empty out a bunch of dead skin like they show on TV, but when I opened it there was barely a few sprinkles inside. My feet aren't all that dry, but I do have some dry callouses in spots. The ped egg works okay on the callouses, but not amy better than my other standard foot files.

Yes, yes, yes. Yes - it works. Yes - I would buy it again. Yes - the price is great. At $10 for this egg looking foot filer, it's the best bargain around and I can toss out my other callous filers. It's gentle but does the trick on your heels and any rough spots. Sure, cleaning the "dust" of callous flakes is a bit gross but this thing work. Great price and at BBB, you can even use your coupons to get one. Makes my feet nice and smooth without huritng it. Just don't over pumice your feet.

You get this and no need for the other foot filers.

Love this! As I've gotten older I've noticed my feet getting drier regardless of trying to take care of them. This product a) delivers on its promise b) is reasonably priced and c) verra cute! I tend to get shavings all over since it is a tad difficult to always use in the upside-down position but I overcome that challenge by doing it over the bathtub. I will use this at night then slather my feet with lotion and wear socks to bed. The next night I check for spots that need a bit more care. A great little tool - definately a keeper!

I bought the limited edition BCA (pink!) version of this at Walgreens after all the good reviews, not really expecting much to be honest, but to my delight this handy little device really does work. I don't have really bad feet, but I live practically barefoot all summer and they hadn't seen a pumice or pedi in awhile because I'm a) lazy, b) broke and c) decided neither helped very much for very long. The PedEgg is strangely satisfying to use, and becomes less of a chore because it actually works. It's easy and it's fast. The shavings only "get everywhere" if you didn't read the directions and hold it the wrong way, aka sideways or upside down. (And, people must be rubbing really hard or using it too often if they feel pain.) I discovered you do have to use the file afterward, otherwise it's not as smooth as it could be. It was amazing what a difference that final step made. So, when used correctly it does work "As Seen on TV" and I never in a million years thought I'd say that, much less believe it. After one treatment my feet were softer and smoother than they have been in awhile. I'll keep using it as long as they keep making parts for it, and now my SO wants one too -they even make a "man version" (which is kind of funny because it's just a little larger, gray and industrial-looking) but at least he won't be stealing mine, even if it's pink :)

I will continue to buy the Ped Egg for as long as they make it! It used to take 2 or 3 pedicures to get my rough, cracked, calloused feet as smooth as it gets with just one session with my Ped Egg. I've been using this product for about a year and I'm always still amazed at the results after I use it. Before Ped Egg, I rarely wore sandals because of the condition of my feet. Now I spend practically the whole summer in flip flops.

What a waste of 10 bucks. The shavings get everywhere and the file it comes with is paper thin and will start to peel off if you aren't careful. For a quick fix befor a night out this may work out just fine. But, for everyday use go get a pedicure!
