i was going to go all out and buy the chi straightener but i just couldn't shell out the benjamins just for a hair straightener!! it's not right! so i saw this at bed bath and beyond and i liked the idea of wet to straight that i wouldn't even have to dry my hair first to use it. i brought it home and the results were just the same as the stylist who used the chi on my hair and looked just as good. it has great features on it such as adjustable heat, chime to tell you when it's done, etc. just watch out for the steam that comes out when your hair is wet! highly recommended and does a great job on hair.

My wavy, frizzy hair comes out stick straight and frizz-free when I use this. I don't use it everyday. Also, it is not a speedy process. It takes me about 35-45 mins to straighten my just-past-shoulder-length hair. Compared to the very expensive ones, though, this seems to work just as well at a fraction of the price.

Love this straightener! I have wavy, chin length, highlighted hair and most of the time it looks ok as is, but sometimes I want it to be straighter, shinier, neater. This does the trick and only $26 at my local Jewel. The 2-in-1 aspect of it, drying/straightening is wonderful for me. I'm not a morning person or one who wants to spend two hours trying to tame my hair. This works in 15 to 30 minutes, depending how perfect I want it to be. I also usually have to put something on my hair to tame frizzies but with this I don't. I would give it 10 lippies if I could!

This REALLY works!
I've been burned, literally and figuratively, with using flat irons (even ceramic) made for use on dry hair. I've tried blowing my hair out straight with great products (like Graham Webb's Reparative Shine) and hair dryers (like Sharper Image's ionic hair dryer). I've used ionic hair brushes, straightening vent brushes, the Revo styler, EVERYTHING. I have thick, coarse hair which is difficult to straighten. The only things that have worked are: 1) Japanese Hair Straightening (which was expensive but worth it, but I can no longer do it because my hair is bleached), and 2) blowouts at my local salon (which are hard to schedule and also expensive - not to mention boring for my hair designer).
So, I came across Remington's Wet 2 Straight in my local Linens 'N Things. Based on my previous experiences, I was suspicious, but - armed with a coupon and knowing I could return the product more easily than if I had mail ordered it a la Revo - I figured what the heck, I'll try it. Why is this product not famous?! It WORKS. I am not very coordinated, and I could never get the same results with a traditional flat iron as most women I know, let alone the same results as a salon. I'd always grab too much or too little hair, and I always had trouble gliding the flat iron down.
I tried this on towel-dried hair. Heat setting 26. I sectioned my hair and worked from the bottom, all the way around, and then all the way to the top. My hair looks JUST AS GOOD - maybe even better - than when I get it done at a salon. I also DON'T HAVE TO USE PRODUCT, which makes it last up to 3 days (I just put 2 showers caps over it in the shower). That's great because it can take up to 45 minutes to do it: 25-30 minutes for a decent job on shoulder-length hair, 45 minutes for perfect. Bear in mind you don't have to blow-dry and then flat iron or style. It is ALL in ONE STEP. I thought putting the iron on my wet hair would fry it, but it doesn't! It's SO smooth and soft - it's as if it seals in the moisture.
I can't believe how much money and time I've saved. The only downside is that I don't see my hair designer anymore for blowouts; and I sometimes run into her in the neighborhood and she's always like, "I don't see you as much anymore."
My only suggestion to Remington, other than to keep making this product, is to make some space for the fingers to rest between the plates and the section with the setting window and buttons. Because it's too hot to choke your fingers up on the plates and if you put them lower, you accidentally hit the buttons and change your setting.
I also highly recommend using this tool after shampooing with Redken's Smooth Down Shampoo and Redken's Smooth Down Butter Treat in lieu of the Smooth Down conditioner (use the Butter Treat lightly and only for a few minutes if you're not using it as a deep treatment).
