This is really sexy.....a nice spicy floral that would go great with killer heels and a little black number. But does anyone else think this smells a lot like Provacative Woman by Elizabeth Arden? PW is half the price, so I might stick with that. I love this, but just can't justify the price right now.

Let me just say I am only sampling this as I can not possibly afford this luxury right now. For the first 20 minutes, I get a very big spicy floral with a touch of patchouli from this. Then in mellows out. This scent can fill up a room. If you want to be noticed in a good way, wear this.
Chanel's prices have always been a little steep for me, but it's the only one fragrance line which I will pay full price to own a bottle. I also like the simple lines of this bottle. The only reason why I won't buy this is because it dried down to smell like a cross between Hugo Boss's Deep Red & Naomi Campbell's namesake fragrance on me--both of which I own & are considerably less spendier than Allure Sensuelle. I will be saving my Chanel fund dollars for Coco.

Smelled great at first spray and even down twenty or so minutes into drydown. It reminded me of maybe Must de Cartier II? A very nostalgic, rich scent - warm and creamy spicy - close to perfect. I was really surprised because I have not liked a single mass marketed fragrance for about five years or so now and don't even try them anymore - they all smell the same to me, and even the other Chanels don't smell right - I wore and loved Coco for several years until they did something to it, I would say in about 1998 or 1999. So I gave it a chance and wow - really nice, a grown up rich and warm fragrance, and then when my husband said "WOW - I will buy it for you", something he has NEVER said I thought ladies, we have a winner. What a damn shame that by the ride home, this truly lovely scent just collapsed into a chemical broth that congealed outside my skull into an imaginary ice pic that then drove itself into my right eye. I tried several times smelling it again and each time it was worse and worse, I got nothing but vague and vapid chemical type odors. What I dont understand is that I love the smell of Ivory soap, Pert shampoo, Finesse, some other items that I know are nothing but chemical smells but I could happily smell them all day. This is not that chemical smell. Those are chemical smells like how Coca-Cola is to beverages - they smell like themselves, they are not supposed to mimic anything else. Sensuelle is like what Snapple is to true fruit juice - a balance of spicy to sweet chemicals that approximate a natural substance. Sparing the soapbox on high fructise corn syrup and cyclomethicone, suffice to say, Sensuelle was a terrible let down to me and to my poor husband, who will be grieved to learn that the bottle was returned today in horror. Of course, if I douse myself with Skin Musk, that will probably ease his loss........

I love this! It is a very sensual/sexy version of the original Allure. I get tons of compliments on this every day I wear it.

I love this! I used to love Allure when it first came out, but after awhile, it started to smell cough-syrupy on me for some odd reason. I also loved the fragrances Chanel came out with after that (Coco Mademoiselle, Chance). While at Robinsons May today, I spritzed some on my wrist and went on my way. Every so often I smelled a hint of the fragrance in the air and was like, "What is that awesome smelling perfume??" It was the Allure Sensuelle. I absolutely LOVE the dry down of this fragrance -- sooooo sexy. I will be purchasing the 3.3oz of this. This is absolutely classic and sexy. Great for a cold fall or winter evening! ;-)

I got this in a deluxe roll-on from Chanel. I was hesitant to try it, since I detest normal Allure, but discovered I love this stuff. This might be my new "sexy" fragrance. For once, Chanel releases a new scent that I *actually* like. Probably better for winter wear, but still darn tantilizing. This is the first fragrance someone's complimented me on.

Allure Sensuelle does for me what Allure original doesn't. Think its the added amber and patchouli (?). It's spicy, yet feminine. I have the lotion too and its heavily scented and has a bit more vanilla than the edp. I wore it to work today and received a compliment from a co-worker that also loves perfume, but she only wears light floral or clean scents. She liked Allure Sensuelle on me and said it was nice and not powerpowering. I find Allure Sensuelle possibly more wearable than Coco Mademoiselle, its got less patchouli. This scent has great staying power too, just like most Chanel edp's. I like the simple packaging too, refreshing in a way since all the new ones this fall are pink w/ rhinestones or iridescent or gimmicky in some type of way. I'm very pleased with my purchase and think that Chanel has created another winner.

I was really excited to try this as I love the original Allure but it is (to me) nothing like it! I have no idea why this is not its own name (probably because Allure is so popular and well-known) and bottle. It is much too spicey and amber-based. All I can think of is "Big Red" gum.

Allure Sensuelle is what ShelleyMac said - Allure's sexy cousin. I have worn Allure since '96 to raves from strangers (male and female), with the exception of the time I was pregnant. Sensuelle is a warmer, headier version of the fragrance, with some subtle but important differences.
First, the vanilla notes are much stronger, especially in the drydown. The impact of the vanilla and other spices is definitely heavier, richer, more opulent. I missed the vetiver - one of my favorite male fragrances - but almost got drunk on the vanilla and spice notes. The lasting power is incredible. I apply it at the back of my neck, on the hairline, on my wrists and in the décolletage, and it lasted 2 days. I think this is because of the mix of it being EdP and the heavier fragrance notes itself.
I'll wear this in the cool weather, but cannot imagine wearing this in the summertime. Unlike regular Allure, I think it's too heady for summer wear, at least for me.

I have grown to appreciate this sharp woody Chanel over time. Maybe my chemistry changed, as I couldn't stand Allure Sensuelle when it first came out. Like 24 Faubourg edp, Allure Sensuelle benefits from finding a way to apply in the small doses, such as working from a sample vial, or a dab of lotion.

This is a delicious, deep, edible fragrance with prominent notes of rose, amber, and vanilla. It actually reminds me quite a bit of IPdF's Ambra del Nepal, with the same cuddly effect, but sexier, showier. Ambra del Nepal is a woman in a cashmere turtleneck, while Chanel Allure Sensuelle is a woman naked except for a cashmere blanket. According to the press release, this fragrance is supposed to have six facets--Oriental, fresh, floral, fruity, woody and spicy--including notes of pink pepper, patchouli, incense, and vetiver. It's mostly an oriental spicy vanilla fragrance on me; I don't find it to be "fresh" at all, and the fruity-floral notes which strongly characterize Allure and Coco Mademoiselle are very faint. Since I grew tired of Coco Mlle's unnerving resemblance to fruit punch, this pleases me. I do need to mention that the EdP is extremely strong. When I first tried this fragrance, I sprayed it a couple of inches away from my arm (which is normally fine for most fragrances I try). The result was overbearingly strong, and I disliked it immediately for being too "perfumey" in a gag-inducing way which recalled Angel, or the heavy 80's fragrances. However, I loved how it smelled on my arm the next day (the lasting power is phenomenal). When I retried it today, I held the sprayer at least a foot away from my arm, and the application was perfect--not too strong at all. Of the modern Chanels, I think that this one may be my favorite. I'll likely end up with a bottle before the end of the year.

I love Allure, so I was really excited to hear this was coming out. My boyfriend and I have very different ideas on scent, and I was looking for something to please both of us (he likes me to smell like a fruity bar drink, and I prefer something WAY more classy) Well, this is NOT a bar drink, but it's the only scent where he stopped me in passing to sniff, and that's including the fruity crap he made me try. I immediately went back to the counter and bought the large bottle. :) I've had MORE compliments on this, and all from people in passing at work. It is Allure's sexy cousin; the dry down is very warm and sensual. Try it!

I really like this one! Chanel did a good thing by adding Vanilla to the scent makes very sexy where before it was boring and more suited to wear for work, this one though is a sexy night out on the town type scent. It's not for me but I may purchase this for My mom..she really likes sweet/spicy kind of scents like this.

I tried this on skin last night and was very disappointed. I like Allure, and I desperately wanted to like Sensuelle because the description sounded gorgeous. The scent started out okay - warm and spicy. However, as it dried down, it got this awful medicinal tinge to it. This one just does not work with my skin at all. The spice and medicinal smell were reminiscent of un unwashed person walking down a hospital corridor. Not for me, I fear.

I am an Allure fan and this one is even better. For me it's more feminine, it's softer and warmer. I am going to it! Will be bying for many years, as well as just Allure which is "forever classic".
EDIT: I now think that the original version is better.

I tried a tester of this at a Chanel counter one day and I HAD to have this....unfortunately it was not yet available for sale, and FINALLY about a month later I have it! During that whole month I haunted the counter for free spritzes and hounded the salespeople about when it would arrive, because this scent was just that irresistable to me. At the very first spray, it can smell a bit sharp and a lot like the original Allure, which i actually HATE. The orginal smells just plain awful to me, strong and sharp and really old-fashioned. After the initial first seconds though, this new version becomes soft and warm and plushy and WONDERFUL!!! Fantastic winter scent...it would be too stifling for a hot, humid day. I spray it on my clothes and the marvelous scent lingers for DAYS. It smells sexy, sophisticated and expensive and yet young enough...and it knocks the socks off my old love, Coco Mademoiselle.

At first I wasn't really impressed with this fragrance. To me, it reminded me too much of the original allure; powdery. But then as I kept using my sample, I realized, hey, i really like this! Think of this as a sophisticated yet edgy/sexy allure. It's not as strong as coco mademoiselle but it definitely has that sexy note from coco mademoiselle that I love, but it is much softer, almost sweet. Plus, when I was at a store, the salesgirl asked me what perfume I was wearing because I smelled so pretty. She said it was just soft and lovely! This is definitely a fall scent, I get the cashmere feeling from it that so many others have been saying. I picture wearing this with a big turtleneck sweater and the new glossimer that will be harmonizing with the plummy burgundy of the fragrances' box, called "Sensuelle." I will definitely be investing the $80 for this fragrance, it is Chanel, after all. *Update* I have decided that I am not that crazy about this after all. I prefer Coco Mademoiselle, this is a bit too spicy for me!

Allure Sensuelle is a quality addition to Chanel's fragrance line-up. At first spray one is reminded of the initial brightness and patchouli tinged aroma of Coco Mlle. A few minutes later a slight scent of spice appears only to quickly surrender to a creamy, warm scent with a hint of peppery undertones. This is a fresher, better rounded Allure, without the strange Elmer's Glue accord that often popped up on me with the original. Like most of Chanel fragrances it is unique without being weird, as I find some indie and niche scents to be.
(I don't feel it is fair or helpful to judge a product by simply testing the fragrance strip in a magazine or lifting the bottle to the nose. Could you test a mascara out and write a review on it by only lifting the wand out of the tube?)

Hi, I had the wonderful experience of spritzing this on yesterday. They only had a tester bottle of the EDP...no bottles for sale yet. It immediately resembled ALLURE to my nose. I thought to myself that it was "ok" but, that I probably would not purchase. Then I walked away and all afternoon and evening I would sniff my wrist. I think this has the best parts of ALLURE in it for me - there was always something SHARP to my nose in the original ALLURE (even though I still wear and love that scent). This version seems to lack that note which is nice. Sure hope I like it...ordered the biggest bottle they have! I will edit this review once I receive my bottle and have a chance to experience it fully.

I'm a fan of the original Allure so when I heard this was coming out I couldn't wait. Well I received it today and I immediately generously spritzed myself. I'm not disappointed. To me this is a sexier version of allure. I had asked my Chanel SA about this and she said that it didn't have a resemblance to the original. I beg to differ, specially when you first spray it I can smell some of the original florals however the drydown is somehow deeper,a bit darker making this in my opinion sexy.I can't wait to get the body lotion. Very nicely done Chanel.PS: I had smelled the paper strip in the magazine and the actual fragrance is much better and different. Don't let that deter you from @ least trying it on your skin.
